Harmony

Chapter 1

Foals and a statue

*Harmony a concept that escapes our grasp every time... The question to ask is: Can we ever reach true harmony, a feeling of completly relaxed peace? Is there really just one answer, doesn't it vary for the person of interest*

A garden full of failures some just pure stone, while others still hold onto life. The most powerful and only one to free himself is Discord, the controller of Chaos. His prison just placed there isolated in the middle of Celestia's trophy  garden. Just recently Discord was vanquished by a source of Harmony, the elements. Being consciences after his transformation to but a simple statue the immortal's anger grew. His mind raced and flew with ideas for the future.

    Happiness fulled Discord slowly, as he knew that in just a few more short seconds he would be out of his imprisionment. He believed that nothing could go wrong, but that it is exactly when something does go wrong. Discord thought to himself "Beginners luck!  All I had was one measly day." Discord's mind flowed to the thought of those six simple mares.

"Twilight is a mysterious character though she seems so... chaotic but organized... an organized chaos sis would laugh at the mention of that odd combination." Saddness found its way to Discord's heart. A single tear slowly fell out of his left stone eye. The tear's journey fell short as a rainbow of color engulfed the water droplet and it turned to stone as it fell to the ground. "Well I will be meeting her soon nothing to worry about, just a conversation that is all. Well on to the plan then... four... ."

    Discord's  thoughts floated through his head "three..." a white coated, mult colored maned alicorn walked her way towards the statue "... sis!".The alicorn princess looked at the staute and wimpered alittle. As some tears rolled off of her snout. She slowely got up and began to walk away. She continued only for a moment and then she turned feeling a burst of energy emanating from Discord's prison. She quickly shielded herself from the arrangement of lights.

As the alicorn lowered her hoof she scanned nervously around for anything. Her search led her to Discord's statue that had a basket, that was light brown and had a white blanket hanging over the edge, in front of it. She trotted to the basket to find two foals in it. The alicorn being much too old to fall for a trick scanned the basket with her white aura surrounding the container. The alicorn yanked back from the basket, the energy emanating of the foals felt like Discord's.

    The alicorn was about to run away to get help, but the cold icy night's wind rushed by causing the two foals in the basket to shake from the cold and unforgiving wind.

She sighed heavily because she knew she couldn't just leave the foals. The alicorn picked up the basket with her magic. She felt sorry for the foals being in the cold night all alone.

The alicorn's thoughts "They are just foals what harm could they do? You are such a fool Discord's energy is flowing through them. Don't you remember the Twins they were foals when we met them. They also had a strange enregy flowing through them. Given we didn't know the source of their hidden strength. They did proof a threat when they grew up. No matter what they are filled with they still need to stay warm. Also these two shouldn't be judged on our pass experiences. "

As the alicorn's thoughts fought one another she found herself and the foals in her room. She gently places the basket down to hurry towards her desk. The alicorn pulled out her phoenix feathered quill and a scroll. She wrote on the scroll addressing the Elements of Harmony of what transpired in front of Discord's stone prison.

    As the alicorn finished writing the scroll, she levitated the scroll toward her fire place. The flame licked the scroll and seeped its way up. When the flame reached half-way up the scroll the white alicorn's eyes lit up as she uttered a few ancient words "tradet ad draco". The scroll burst into green flames, there was no ash left of the scroll. It just seemed to have vanished completely. The alicorn then trotted to the basket, examining the foals as she approached. They were both colts but one was a unicorn and the other a pegasus.

The unicorn had a grayish fur with dirty blonde hair and a tail that was both blonde and gray. As he opened his eyes she saw that they were a blue-gray hazel.

The pegasus had a mixed fur that was black and crimson red, he also had a brown mane and tail. The pegasus opened his eyes, they were green with brown surrounding the iris.

Their judging eyes lied on the princess as they all stared at each other. The princess pulled away from their eyes because of how easily they reminded her of times that once were.

Minutes passed as the princess waited for a respond of some sort, in an attempt to stay away from boredom she trotted over to her balcony. She gazed up to the moon and she smirked at the beauty of this amazing night. A dark blue figure landed next to the princess.

“Luna you are getting better, seems like you have been practicing."

"Thanks Celly, we have been getting better haven't we?"

"Luna I have to show you something."

"What the foals? Celly I saw and know, we are glad you decided to give them a chance like you did with us."

     "Twilight and her friends should be replying in a few minutes. Do you want to stay?"

"Not tonight Celly I need to check with Bright Night about how my royal night guards are faring"

"How are they liking the spell?"

"Most of them love having the ability to change back and forth from night-ponies to day-ponies. Having the bat-like wings and all."

"Good... good. Um... good night, Luna, I will let you know if anything big happens."

"We know something big will happen we can just feel it."

With that Luna launched from the balcony and flew away to the watch tower to the far left of the castle.

There was a bright flash of purple light behind the alicorn she turned and peared through the window revealing the Elements of Harmony. The white-coated alicorn princess opened the door and trotted in. A lavender unicorn smiled and greeted her "Princess Celestia, we came as soon as we could."

Celestia spotted movement on the back of the lavender unicorn she realized that it was the purple and green bellied dragon, Spike. Celestia spoke "I am glad that you did, this is a matter that will be delt with, Twilight Sparkle." she pointed a hoof towards the basket.

    As the seven stood over the basket, staring at the colt foals, they all uttered an "Aww... "almost in unison . "Princess, hope ya don't mind ma asking, but why are these here foals a problem?" asked Apple Jack. "They radiate with Discord's chaotic energy. I have no idea what this means exactly but Discord is up to no good again."

    "Well, if they are so dangerous why don't we just get rid of them?" Rainbow interrupted as she played with a globe of the world on Celestia's desk. "Rainbow you should feel ashamed... you... you should know that they are just foals. Just because they are born with something doesn't mean they aren't allowed the chance to live!" FlutterShy shouted at Rainbow Dash.

    Rainbow jerked back from her friend's response. "I agree with FlutterShy we should give them a chance to prove themselves. Which one of you will take care of one? Any volunteers?" Celestia asked.

    "I will take care of the unicorn, I may also get the chance to teach him some magic as well." Twilight said taking the unicorn in her magic aura out of the basket.

    "Ok... I will take the pegasus, he might become a great flyer one day." Rainbow Dash laughed. She picked up the basket with her right hoof and threw it on her back. The pegasus inside giggled with the slight fling in the air.

    "It is decided then go back to Ponyville and raise the two, report to me if anything happens." Celestia said as her horn glowed and six mares and the dragon vanished back to the small town Ponyville.

    As the six mares and the dragon open their eye they found themselves in Twilight's library inside a tree.

"Well good night everyone see you tomorrow." Twilight tried to comfort the five sleepy mares and the exhausted.. dragon.

The ponies walked over to their  sleep over bags and unrolled their beds. They shared quick stories and they all fell to sleep. The lavender unicorn was the last up, she checked the foals Rainbow's foal slept in the basket moving and kicking around in the basket. She also checked on the little unicorn and on the small little make shift bed she had made for him. She finished her routine and journeyed to her bed. She swayed back and forth, crawling into the covers of her bed.

"Good night, everyone." She whispered to everyone but knew there wouldn't be a reply so she drifted of to sleep.

Twilight awoke to birds singing their morning songs. She stumbled her way down the stairs to the kitchen and she pulled out some milk from the fridge. She sat at the table and regained a more focused awareness of her trip to the kitchen. She galloped towards her bed to find wood fragments all over the place. On the other side of her bed on the floor was a teenage colt. He looked like the foal gray of fur and being a unicorn.

She heard one by one that her friends where also awaking. She picked up the colt and trotted down the stairs. Her friends stared at her when she arrived to the base of the library with a colt.

"Twilight did you finally do it with someone because I was starting to feel sad for..." Rarity announced

"No, I didn't, Rarity, seriously!?" Twilight questioned

"Well I'm not the one holding a colt am I?" Rarity continued

"No, I... I... I just found him next to my bed." Twilight nervously answered

"Eww... that is just weird."

The gray unicorn awoke and wiggled his hoofs around trying to reach the ground. Twilight realize this and let him fall to the ground.

"Explain, mister."

"Explain what!?" he asked

"Why you were next to my bed?"

"You placed me there, remember?!"

"So you two are the foals?" Pinkie asked.

"Um... yes, yes we are, how did you? Oh ya Pinkie is Pinkie always." he talked to himself

     "Who are you? " Twilight questioned the strange colt.

He looked at the clock above the seven figures. "... Time Surge." the strange colt's said as his eyes flashed open. Then he vanished out of thin air "Over here!" the colt shouted to the seven from behind them. They turned to see the strange unicorn holding a smile. "I am Time Surge." he introduced.
