A pony’s magic can’t change color. That’s impossible. A proven fact. It’s in her blood, like her coat color, or the fact that she’s a unicorn in the first place..

Everypony knows that. Or that’s what Twilight thought. But it did happen. To her. And nopony said a thing.

Now her parents have invited her to this “family tradition” birthday she’s never heard about. Something about coming-of-age, but its all so secretive. And by her parents’ wishes—or possibly orders—nopony can come except family. Direct family at that. Sure, it’ll feel like the old days, back when she was a filly, but she must wonder about all the secrecy. And, now that she notices it, Twilight can’t help but ask herself, “Why does everypony in my family have the same pink magic?”
