Chapter One - Life

It was an another peaceful night. Twilight looked out from her window. The moon was full and shed all of it's beautiful light on Equestria. Twilight loved the moon. It made everything feel so peaceful and romantic to her. She let out a peaceful sigh when she closed the window. She also loved the night. Unlike during day, at night everything seemed to be in a perfect harmony. She hummed a tune when she walked upstairs to her room. When she opened the door, she saw Spike lying in his bed. She kissed the baby dragon on the forehead and got on her bed. She closed her eyes and fell asleep smiling.

Next day she woke up as early as usual and walked to the bathroom. She tried not to wake Spike up. She walked to the shower and turned the tap. Warm water started to flow down her body. She felt so safe in the shower. It was a place, where she could feel warmness and it was the place, where she could think about things in peace. She finished showering herself and opened the shower door. When she walked she was surrounded by a steam cloud. She smelled the fresh air and walked to the front of the mirror. She dried her mane and started brushing it by her magic. She brushed it carefully and precisely. She wanted her mane to look exactly the same way like everyday. It was just her style.

When she had finished brushing her mane and drying herself, she walked downstairs. On her way down, she noticed a book on the table. She walked up to it and lifted it up with her magic. She started humming a harmonious tune. She set the book down on one bookshelf. Then she walked to the kitchen and started making herself a sandwich. It was easy for her, since she was a pretty good cook. Nopony knew that she was good at it, but it was actually one of her favorite hobbies. She knew really much about cooking. She took her sandwich and walked to the table. When she sat down, she noticed that the mail was lying on the floor. She levitated them to the table and started scanning though the correspondence. There were some commercials and new book orders. She placed the mail down and took a bite of her sandwich. Her mouth filled with tasty flavors. She loved to eat slowly and enjoy the food when she ate.

Soon she finished eating and cleaned the dishes, putting them into the washing machine and started it. After that, she walked to the exit door and unlocked it. She hung a sign on it that said “Open”. Then she returned inside and started looking for a good book to read. She soon found it and went to read it at the table. When she turned to he first page, somepony walked in. Twilight raised her head and looked at the pony, who just came in. It was Rainbow Dash. She seemed pretty exited, but Twilight didn't know why. Rainbow walked up to her with the biggest grin in the world. Twilight waited for Rainbow to tell her what was the reason of her happiness with no success. Rainbow just kept grinning. Twilight got bored of this game so she broke the awkward silence.

"Hello, Rainbow! What happened? What is all that grin about?" Twilight sighed and Rainbow kept smiling, but she managed to answer the question.

"Guess who has a coltfriend?" Rainbow asked and hopped. Twilight knew the obvious answer, but decided to tease her friend a little.

"Let me think. It could be Applejack. Yes. I remember that she was with Caramel." Rainbow gave Twilight an angry look.

"No you egghead! I, I have a coltfriend!" Rainbow said and puffed her chest, beating on it by her hoof.

Twilight gasped and hugged her friend. She looked Rainbow in the eyes. "Wow, didn’t expect that one coming! Is it Thunderlane?"

Rainbow made a confused face, looking away, “Y-yeah, how did you know?”

“I just guessed,” Twilight said with a happy face.

Rainbow broke the hug and she started leaving,"Bye Twi!" Rainbow waved as she left the Library. Twilight waved back to her. She returned to read her book. The book was about two ponies, who loved each other, but they didn't know each others feelings. The book was very interesting. This was the fifth time she was reading it. It was so full of everything she liked. Romance, adventure and tragedy. She loved the way the writer had made the story go. Through adventures and threats they found each other and lived happily ever after.

After a couple hours, Twilight decided to stop reading and she went to Sugarcube corner to buy some sweets. She promised Applejack that she would go eat with her, like friends do sometimes. She shut the book and levitated it back to the bookshelf. She took a few bits from her safe and put them in her saddlebag. She walked outside but immediately returned inside when she remembered that Spike was still sleeping. She went upstairs to her room and found the baby dragon sleeping in his box and sucking his thumb. When Twilight saw this, she didn’t want to wake Spike up, she just couldn’t, so she decided to leave a note to him. After she had written the note, she walked out.

It was a sunny day as usual. The sun warmed Twilights body nicely. She loved hot summer days. Everything was so colorful and bright. Everypony was laughing and having fun. Couples were at the park having picnics and fillies were playing in the schoolyard. All of this made Twilight happy. The gravel road was hot and it burned Twilights hoofs a little, so she decided to cut through the park. She turned to cross over the park and saw some butterflies following her. She looked at them and one of them landed on Twilights nose. Twilight smiled to it and kept going.

She arrived at the Sugarcube Corner. Lots of ponies were in there. It was always pretty crowded, but today it was a lot more than usually, mainly because it was such a beautiful day. She started looking around for Applejack, but she was nowhere to be seen. She heard a yell coming from her left. It was Applejack. Twilight walked through the crowd to Applejack, who was there with Pinkie.

"Howdy Twilight! Don't ya mind if Pinkie comes with us?" Applejack asked and Twilight watched the hopping pink mare on her side.

"Of course not. So, where should we go?" Twilight asked her friend, who tried to find a place, where they could talk.

"Let's go to this restaurant over there." Applejack pointed at a building and they walked in. They sat down on one of the tables and the waiter brought them three menus. They started scanning through them and after a couple of minutes Twilight found what she wanted. She closed the menus and saw that her friends were still reading them. She put the menu down on the table.

"Okay. I've decided. Have you found anything yet?" Twilight asked and smiled at her friends, who were struggling to find something to eat.

"It’s too much to choose from! How am ah supposed to find anything from these?" Applejack stated, frustrated. Twilight giggled a little.

"Well I'll take dandelion sandwich and hay fries." Twilight stated. Applejack gave up.

"I'll take the same." Applejack said and banged her head on the table.

"Me too. I just realized that I don't even know what half of these are!" Pinkie said happily and lowered the menu on the table.

The waiter came back to their table and took the orders. After a few moments, their food arrived. They started eating it and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Twilight broke the silence, "Well Applejack, how are things between you and Caramel?" Applejack immediately turned her head and smiled.

"We are as good as always. We are planning to go for a trip with him." Applejack stated happily what made Pinkie smile.

"Oh. Where are you planning to go?" Twilight asked interested.

"We were first thinking about going to Las Pegasus, but then we decided that if we go, we'll go to Manehattan." Pinkie finished her food in an instant.

They talked about Applejacks vacation plannings and Pinkies upcoming parties. Before they even noticed, they had eaten all of their food and they started leaving. They decided to go have some fun.

Twilight reached her house after a long walk. She was exhausted. It was about midnight when she got home. She walked up to her room and to the balcony. She found herself again, standing there, admiring the moon. It had become her routine. She loved to watch the moon and just think about stuff. Today she thought about Applejacks trip plans, Rainbow’s relationship with Thunderlane.

Pinkie found a colt what made her stunned. The day was perfect to the couples to have fun in the park. Then a thought struck her like a lightning. A thought she would never have a coltfriend, that nopony will never love her.

'Why doesn’t any colt like me? Why haven't I felt any love towards anypony?'. This thought made her go down to the library side and she started looking for a book. She tried to find a book that will explain her thoughts, but she couldn't find anything. She kept searching through the whole night.

At the morning she finally came back to reality, when she heard a voice. A friendly and calming voice. Scared, but still calming. Spike had awoken.

"Umm... Twilight? What is going on?" Spike asked the crazy looking unicorn. Twilight couldn't tell the truth.

"I was searching for a... umm... rat! Yes. A rat. I saw it when I... I... was going to bed." Twilight said and hoped that Spike would believe her. Happily for her, he did.

"Okay..."
