Chapter 1: All our sins remembered
Before Discord’s rise but after the founding of Equestria all was not at peace. The 3 tribes still disliked each other and predigest reigned. After the death of commander Hurricane the new leader was a pegasus supremacist and set up a fascist totalitarian government. She was supported by the vast majority of pegasus that believed they were the “master race”. Soon the inevitable war broke out and the poorly prepared “stupid” earth ponies took massive casualties, and the survivors were ether sent to concentration camps to be tortured and killed, or were fighting in the everfree forest against the much superior Pegasus army. Eventually the Unicorns joined the war on the earth pony side, suddenly fighting a two front war with one side wielding ranged magical attacks the Pegasus were forced to surrender. There were apparently 5 concentration camps in all, but only 4 have ever been found.
Ponies have always wondered what’s so special about Sweet Apple Acres, the apples are the best around, but its not just the “sweet care” that the Apple family boasts tests showed that the soil is much more rich than the soil mere meters away from the farm. The Apples always explain it as just the land trying to compensate for the wasted 13th acre, that acre was a old remnant of the tribe war, the land is covered in barbed wire mines and unexploded bombs.
“I have gatherd you all here today because its almost November which means it’s almost Remberance day, that made me want to find out more about the tribal war, and when A.J. said she had a battle field litteraly in her back yard I couldn’t resist.” Said the purple unicorn mare to her gatherd friends.
“Well I’m just glad to finally see whats in there, but you sure this spell will protect us, Granny Smith told me some stories about the war that were passed down through the generations. As a filly they gave me more nightmares than any monster story ever could, so I don’t wanna go in unprepared.” Applejack said a tone of worry to her voice.
“Don’t worry the spell I put on us makes us to light to set off any mines or bombs, so we’ll be fine.” She said noticing the now concerned looks on her 4 other friends’ faces.
“Oky Doky Loky! Let’s go quick I still have to make food for nightmare night!” Pinky said cheerfully.
They entered the battlefield it was worse than imagined, there were massive craters, plenty of corpses; only pegasus and earth pony (typical of a battle field in this area) but strangely more dead pegasus than earth pony, and finally the entire area was charred and burnt.
Rainbow Dash was checking each Pegasus corps and reading it’s tags, then discussed by the fact her friend was actually touching the dead Rarity asked. “What are you looking for Rainbow Dash?” Causing the startled pegasus to turn around and face her friends with a somewhat ashamed look on her face.
“I’m not proud of it but my great great great great great great grandfather was in the war and he never returned home, but they never found a body, and since there was never any research into this place I though maybe he could be one of the bodies.” This warranted many looks of understanding from her friends.
They continued heading deeper into the section of A.J’s property with nothing too interesting happening, if you don’t count A.J. skipping a rock across a mine field and Fluttershy throwing up at every corps they came across. Until they walked right up to the bombed out wreckage of what was a building.
“Well this must be a bucker or a command post of some kind, if we’re going to find anything it would probably be in here.” Said Twilight in an excited tone. They entered and stopped dead at the first sign they saw.
Concentration Camp: Hydra main entrance
“This ain’t right.” A.J. said in stunned disbelief. “If this is a concentration camp than that means the farm’s built on the mass graves of thousands of earth ponies!” She concluded in horror.
“Well that explains your rich soil.” Twilight stated bluntly.
“Odd…” trailed off Rainbow Dash said. She was standing in the remains of what looked like a waiting room with a large blast hole in the ceiling.
“What it’s just where the earth ponies mortared the place, they were so far away that they never knew there was a camp here and probably thought it to be just a bunker like we did.” Said Twilight rather as a matter of factly.
“No these are the blasts of a pegasus bombing raid, everypony in Cloudsdale has to do one year of military service during my time I dropped some bombs in training, and when I flew over this place in the past it looked like the buildings used in target practice. But why bomb their own base?” Rainbow Dash said.
“Well maybe the prisoners held an uprising, and the Pegasus didn’t want the camp falling into enemy hands.” Offered A.J.
“What does Biohazard mean?” asked Pinky who was staring at the large metal door covered in yellow tape reading Biohazard.
“Well if this place is like the other concentration camps, this way is the gas chamber and entrance to the holding area.” Twilight said remembering the old schematics she found in history books. “Well if we’re going we’ll need these’ said Twilight Sparkle levitating 6 pegasus gas masks off a rack of them.
“They were probably testing a bio weapon on some prisoners and had to lock down the section as a result.” Twilight inferred.
Once they had the masks on the entered the chamber. Things were obviously not right, as expected there were plenty of earth pony corpses but they were all up against the walls, stranger still there were five fully armed and armored pegasus soldiers facing the opposite door, strangest of all however was the words spelled in blood in the center:
Gas Us!
“Um, the biological out break must be further still they asked to be gassed to prevent them from carrying it out with them.” Twilight tried to reason, as Fluttershy stomach long since emptied spewed her last remaining stomach acid on the ground.
They headed through the doors and into the nightmares that awaited them. The door slammed shut behind them and locked. The gore outside was nothing compared to what lay inside.
