It was a beautiful day in ponyville when the grey mare awoke, the sun was shining, the birds where singing and not a cloud in the sky. Night Fire was in for a busy day. She was going to sweet apple acres in the morning, then to Rarity in the afternoon and then she was going to see twilight in the evening. She had only just woken up when she heard a knock at the door.
"Come in." The grey mare said in a tired voice.
"Hey Night Fire it's just me delivering your mail." Derpy said with a big smile.
"Thank you Derpy, hey would you like any cupcakes i have some leftover from last night?" Asked the mare.
"Thank you very much, but are you sure you don't want them?" Derpy replied.
"Yes I'm sure." Night Fire replied smiling.
And with that Derpy took the basket of cupcakes and trotted off joyfully, she looked as if she had a lot of mail to deliver.
Night Fire picked up the letter and sat down at her table to read it but as she went to open it she noticed that it had a black seal on it. After seeing the seal she immediately through it in the bin and with a sigh trotted out the door.
When she got to Sweet Apple Acres she noticed that Apple Jack was apple bucking and looked like she had been for a while. Night Fire decided to walk over to Apple Jack and say hello.
"Hey Apple Jack."
"Hey there sis." the orange pony replied
"So is there anything can I help you with?"
"Well you could help with the apple collecting" Apple Jack pointed over to a wagon filled with apples.
Night Fire stared in horror as she knew that she couldn't move that wagon to and from trees let alone an inch.
"Don't worry sis you can use your fancy unicorn magic if you want." Apple Jack said giggling a little.
"Where should i put them?" The grey mare asked.
"Just put them over there." She pointed over to a big pile of apples.
"Wow, it looks like you and big macintosh have been busy."
"Yeah, and that's only one tenth of the orchard." The orange mare replied with a smile.
Night Fire let out a little sigh without noticing.
"oh don't worry sis with your unicorn magic and my apple bucking skills we'll be done in no time at all."
And with that the two mares started bucking and collecting apples.
It was about 11:00 when they finished. Night Fire was quite surprised when apple jack told her that they were done, she couldn't believe how little time it took.
"Wow that was faster than a thought it would be." The grey mare said with a cheery voice.
"I told you so." Apple Jack replied with a giggle.
The grey mare also giggled and then said
"Sorry but i'm going to have to go because I said I would go and see Rarity." she said blushing slightly.
"Well thats ok, oh and tell Rarity I said hi."
"I will, she you later."
When she got to the boutique she could see a pony with a charcoal mane and grey coat collecting a bow tie. As the mare left she stopped and said;
"Hello you must be Night Fire, I'm Octavia."
"Nice to meet you."
"Rarity told me you just moved here from Canterlot."
"Yes, two days ago."
"Well I have to go, I'm helping vinyl compose her next 'hit'."
"Ok, see you later."
Octavia gave her a smile and then trotted off.
"Oh, hello Night Fire how are you"
"I'm good, I've just been helping Apple Jack with collecting apples, how are you?"
"I'm good,i just made a bow tie for Octavia, shes going to be performing at the royal canterlot palice later."
"Cool, what instrument does she play?"
"The cello, she's in the royal orchestra."
"That must be quite fun."
"Yes well any way, what would you like your dress to look like?"
"Oh you don't have to make me a dress."
"Well ok, if you want we could just chat."
"Sure."
After hours of chatting about fashion, Canterlot and lots of other subjects Night Fire had to go.
"I'm sorry but time flies and I was going to see twilight in the evening so I must dash." Said Night Fire
"That's ok; well I'll see you soon." Rarity said with a smile
Night Fire walked out the boutique and gave her friend a wave and made her way to the library.
It was some time before she got to the library as she didn't know where everythng was yet. When she got there she could she a mass amount of books piled up around twilight who was franticly looking through them. Night Fire knocked on the door to the library.
"Who is it?"
"It's Night Fire." she replied
"Oh come on in then."
Night Fire opened the door, but to her surprise it kept getting stuck
"I think the doors getting stuck on some books." she said in a raised voice
"Oh sorry, let me move those."
The books became outlined in a purple haze and then floated towards the bookshelves' before putting them back neatly.
"Wow, how do you move so many books at once?" Night Fire exclaimed.
"I don't know I just can." twilight replied in a joyful voice.
"Cool, I wish I could."
"Have you tried?"
"No I suppose not."
"Go ahead and try after all you won't know until you've tried."
"Ok I will."
Suddenly a grey haze out lined all the books, the grey mare pulled all the books out shuffled them around and then put them back in there original position.
"Wow I never knew I could do that!" She said with a big smile on her face.
It had been sometime when Night Fire left the library. After a long and exciting talk about magic and what it was like to be an alicorn Night Fire had to go as it was getting late and she did have a long yet enjoyable and exciting day the grey mare was very tied. When she got back to her house she noticed that the letter had been taken out of the bin, flattered and placed on the table. Upon seeing this the grey mare put it back in the bin and then ignited it with her magic and after doing so stomped off to bed...

It was a week before nightmare night when the new pony arrived in ponyville. It was getting late and Pinkie Pie was hopping back home after a long day at Sweet Apple Acres helping Applejack make apple cupcakes when she saw the new pony arrive. Her mane was red and orange and looked a little bit messy as if she was in a rush to get somewhere. Her eyes where dark red and her coat was dark grey. She was an alicorn and had a horn and wings. This was unusual because it was normally royals that where alicorns but on odd occasions some ponies where born as alicorn. Pinkie Pie didn’t recognise the mare so she bounced over to welcome the new pony and introduce herself.
"Hey there, I'm Pinkie Pie and i've never seen you beforebut i know everypony around here which means you're new and i love having new friends, whats your name?" She said bouncing up and down with joy.
The mare smiled and said,
“My names Night Fire and thank you for welcoming me."
“What a nice name, you must come and see me at sugar cube corner tomorrow morning.”
“Ok I guess I’ll see you in the morning.”
And with that Pinkie hopped away.
It was about 9am when Night Fire woke up and went over to sugar cube corner, when she looked through the door she couldn’t see anypony, but then she herd Pinkie Pie upstairs saying
“Come upstairs Night Fire.”
Night fire went upstairs but to her surprise it was very dark, then all of a sudden the lights turned on and confetti burst out everywhere, all the ponies where there even Derpy.
“SURPRISE!” everypony said.
“Do you like the surprise do you, do you, do you?” said Pinkie Pie
“Yes and thank you Pinkie Pie” said Night Fire.
“Oh thank you, everypony is here, I would like you to meet my best friends Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Apple Jack, Flutter Shy and Rarity.”
“Hi everypony, my names Night Fire nice to meet you all.”
“I’m Rainbow Dash I help with weather control."
“I’m Twilight and I am one of Princess Celestia’s top students and I love magic."
“I love magic too, it’s so cool, I love leaning new spells.” Said Night Fire with a smile on her face.
“You should come and see me at the library some time and I could teach you some new spells.”
“That would be great I would love to do that some time.”
“I’m Applejack I live and work at Sweet Apple Acers helping collect apples with my brother Big Macintosh.
“I love apples, there my second favourite food.” Night Fire replied.
“Ooo what’s your favourite food!” exclaimed Pinkie Pie bouncing up and down with lots of energy.
“Cupcakes” the grey mare replied.
“Ooooooo what’s your favourite cup cake is it chocolate, coffee, raspberry, strawberry?"
“Probably chocolate with cherries if I had to pick a favourite.” She replied
“I’m Fluttershy and I love animals.” She said in a hushed voice.
“And I’m Rarity I make dresses, I just love fashion.”
“I’ve seen some of your outfits back in canterlot when I lived there.”
“That’s fabulous; you must come over so I can make you a dress sometime and we could maybe go to the spar sometime as well.” Rarity said with excitement.
“That would be great, I can’t wait.” She replied.
“Hey that’s a nice cutie mark, how did you get it?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“I got it when I realised that the special thing about me was I can give hope to anypony no matter how sad they are.” She answered.
“Well that’s a mighty fine talent you got there sis.” Said Applejack.
“Thank you Applejack, we should all hang out some time, but I must go, I still have a lot of unpacking to do.” And with that the she trotted off.
When she got back to her house she had a long afternoon of unpacking and deciding where everything will go. It was later that afternoon when she had finished unpacking when she had an unexpected knock at the door
*knock, knock*
“Come in.” She said
Standing at the door was Pinkie Pie with a basket of cupcakes is her mouth. She walked in and put the basket of muffins down on a table near the door.
“Hey I brought you these as a welcome present, I hope you enjoy them.” Pinkie said and gave her a cute smile and then bounced off joyfully. Night Fire just giggled to herself and then said,
“she you later Pinkie.”
And with that she sat down and started eating the delicious cupcakes. Pinkie Pie obviously remembered what Night Fire said earlier as all the cupcakes where chocolate with chocolate icing and a cherry on top. She started thinking what she was going to do the next day, she decided that she would go and visit Apple Jack at sweet apple acres and she if she could help with anything, or she could go and see Rarity at the boutique and get a dress made for her. She decided that she would see Rarity in the morning, have lunch and then go see Apple Jack in the afternoon, and maybe visit twilight in the evening if she had enough time. She was thinking how nice her six new friends where and if all the ponies in ponyville where as nice. She was also wondering if she would have friends as nice as the ones she had made today if she had stayed in canterlot and had gone to theatre school.
The dark grey mare was starting to get tired and decided to get some sleep as she had a long day planned for tomorrow, but also she thoughrt to herself that after seeing her new friends being so nice to her, she hoped that they wouldn’t find out her secret and that if they did they wouldn’t hate her for it and would still be friends with her…

Over the next couple of story it I’ll become more of a story you’ll want to read, but this is only a short introduction to my character so I wasn’t planning for it to be amazing. Throughout the next couple of stories you’ll learn more about Night Fire and her dark secret and how it affects there friendship.
