Twilight whistled as she made her way to school, using her magic to carry her bag. She nudged the school door open with her nose and hung her bag up on the hanger outside her main classroom. She got out her book 'Magic Creativity made Easy' and strolled into the room. She sat down and got to work - reading her book. Applejack was snoring wildly until her sister woke her up by crying. She gave a startled snort. "Granny? Tell tha baby to shut up will ya?" She called. "I will as soon as ya'll get up you theivin' vermins!" She croaked back. AJ sighed and jumped out of her bed. She flew down the wooden stairs, gulped down apple juice and stuffed half an apple pie down her throat. She returned up the stairs and started brushing her teeth. "Hey Granny! You promised me some Apple Cider today! Granny? GRANNY?" The orange filly snorted and started trotting to school. "Tha' ol' lady can fall asleep at tha drop of a hat!" Rarity combed and combed her hair. Her mother went into the bathroom. "Mom! You could at LEAST knock on the door!" Ignoring her daughter's complaint, the plump, pink pony said; "Rarity get outta here, stop combing yer hair and get ta school!" Rarity rolled her eyes at how UNposh her mother's voice was. "Ugh fine!" Rarity closed the house door behind her and gracefully glided to school. "Oh great. A most awful, uncouth thing! A test. " Pinkie hummed and giggled as she bounced towards school. She giggled again as she sniffed a flower, pulling all its petals towards her nose. "Ooh yay! I love tests!" Pinkie said, trying to make everything as good and happy as possible. "Hi Twilight!" Pinkie grinned as she went inside. Twilight ignored her, she was so into her book that she didn't notice her say hello. Rainbow Dash finished colouring in her drawing of her as a Wonderbolt. "Hey Mom - look what I did!" She said, showing her drawing to the photo of her mother on her wall. Dash's mother had died when she was about 3 years old. Rainbow Dash tucked her bright drawing in her bag, which was covered with drawings and photos of Spitfire. She leaped out of her huge house and whizzed down to her school in between Ponyville and Canterlot. She greeted Gilda warmly by giving her some pink gum. Gilda was only at her school as her parents threatened to sue the school if they said she could not join. Fluttershy quietly said goodbye to her mother and floated towards the school. That was the only place she went to that was on the ground. She went inside and sat herself down at her usual seat next to Twilight. Miss Zesty walked into the classroom and smiled at all the pupils in her class. She sat down and hushed the class. As she went down the register, each pony happily answered with a 'morning miss!' "Rainbow Dash? Gilda? Ugh those two are really getting on the edges of my whiskers!" The class giggled. "Will they ever manage to come ON TIME?" She stamped her hoof in annoyance and went out into the hallway. She opened the door and spotted Gilda and Rainbow Dash zooming in the sky, racing each other from cloud to cloud. "Rainbow Dash! Gilda!" The two pupils gently landed and walked towards their teacher. "Sorry Miss..." They both said, lowering their heads. Gilda grinned at Dash. "Gilda - you aren't even meant to be at this school and I will NOT tolerate you two messing about and MISSING SCHOOL! It's simple - either you behave at school and arrive on time, or you don't come at all!" Gilda's head jerked up. "I don't have to come?!?!" She beamed. " NO, you'll be put in another school without your 'gal-pal'!!" "My mum has the power and RIGHT to sue you!!" Gilda answered back rudely. Miss zesty gasped, taken aback in shock. "Don't answer back to me like that EVER AGAIN. NOW GET INSIDE AND SIT DOWN!" Rainbow Dash felt a little swelling of guilt ride up inside her. They were always late, from playing. She turned and looked at Gilda who was giving Dash a harsh stare. "Go on..!" She hissed. "Oh! Err me and Gilda forgot our bags, better go get them!!" "No, more likely you 'forgot' them on PURPOSE! You'll just have no calculators or references for your maths test." Gilda sighed. "Pfff ... Tests mean nothing to fliers." Gilda whispered. Rainbow Dash felt a nervous feeling in her stomach. She'd boasted that in the next test she'd get 100%, more that Twilight who usually got 99%, but managed to reach the highest marks of the class. Twilight stopped reading and put her book down. 9:15?? We are meant to start our test in a few minutes... She thought. She grinned as she spotted Miss Zesty walking in with the two naughty pupils. Miss plonked down the girls and stomped away. Rainbow Dash instantly popped a piece of chewing gum in her mouth and started blowing huge bubbles. Applejack sighed and rolled her eyes. "Twilight? Twilight! I need ta' get this bloomin' test done an' over with! Tell Miss ta' get on with it!" Applejack hissed. Twilight turned around. And frowned at AJ. "Tell her yourself." Rarity quickly magicked out some mascara from her back and holding her head low, applied the thick make up. "Rarity!" "Yes Miss?" Rarity asked, almost throwing the black tube into her bag. "Right class - we will be starting the maths test today. Now I don't want any talking, silliness or communication at all!" Miss Zesty instructed, while handing out little booklets. Twilight smiled. "Thanks miss!" "Your time starts now!" Twilight leaped into action. Her quill seemed like it was endlessly scribbling down answers and working out. Applejack gawped at Twilight. She hadn't even glanced at her calculator once. AJ sighed and opened up her book after scrawling her name on the front. Pie charts was the first item on the maths list. "Ugh..." Applejack groaned, leaning down to look for a protractor in her bag. She didn't find one. AJ just sat there, itching her head for ideas. Rarity was working along okay, until she felt a sharp piece of paper in her hair. She looked up, and saw a paper aeroplane, wedged into her nicely curled mane. She gasped and brought her hooves to her purple mane, very annoyed with who had aimed the shot at her hair. Pinkie giggled and snorted loudly, then brought a raised hoof to her mouth. She took another look at Rarity's hair and burst out in fits of laughter, getting evil glances from her teacher. Rainbow Dash relaxed and leant back in her chair. She started blowing bubbles, and then lifted her hooves behind her head, thinking she looked incredibly cool. Fluttershy sighed and glanced at the birds who were at the window. "No Fluttershy... You must do your test!" She said under her breath. She kept eyeing them and then suddenly slammed her pencil down and couldn't help playing with the little birds.
