Chapter 1: The Beginning of the Curse
There I lay, tied down to the floor of the hive by magic. I could not move. My black coat shook. I brushed my grayish mane out of my eyes.
Chrysalis walked up. "This won't hurt. Much."
I struggled to stand. "What are you going to do to me?"
Chrysalis smiled an evil smile. "We are simply going to turn you into a changeling. Don't worry, Shadow dear, it'll only last a second."
I saw all of the changelings suddenly part, like they were afraid. My horn was supercharged, ready to fire. Only now did I notice that.
Chrysalis backed up. "It doesn't need to come to that."
The black fire currently raging on by my horn seemed to spark fear in her, combat her love. I could use it, maybe get out of here.
I looked straight into Chrysalis's eyes. "It will need to come to that, unless you let me go, and everypony else."
Chrysalis smiled again. "Not a chance. I can't let them go, they won't leave. Once I turned them, I brainwashed them into being my loyal changelings. You can't make them leave."
I almost blew up. Chrysalis was evil, pure evil. Whatever had made me think she was just misunderstood? That was why I had ventured out to the Hive, to talk. But she had tied me down, just saw it as another oppertunity to snag another 'loyal changeling'. My friends were probably feeling tortured under there.
Then, I did blow up. "I thought that you might really be nice, just misunderstood! But no, I was wrong! You had to turn on me and tie me up, and who knows what else! You are evil! Pure evil!"
Chrysalis looked down at me. "Why, thank you. Now, let's get on with this. I'll be in my quarters."
Once she left I heard a distinct sobbing. Her daughter, Arelle, walked out. She resembled her mother. She took one look at me, and then looked down. "Mom isn't all evil."
I looked at her and snorted. "She didn't chain you to the floor and attempt to painfully transform you."
She laughed. "That's true. Maybe we could be friends. We have the same sense of humor."
I couldn't help but laugh back. "Maybe, but if she turns me, I get brainwashed."
Arelle smiled at me. "I can fix that."
She walked into her mother's chambers. I heard a lot of yelling, and lots of transformation magic. I heard a loud "Fine!" but I wasn't sure wether it meant I would be brainwashed or not.
I heard Chrysalis's footsteps near the guard's chamber. I would have bet two hundred bits that at least half or them were my friends.
Faintly, I heard something like, "Go hold her down! She could escape!" Suddenly I felt about twelve holey hooves pushing my stomach down. The grand mistress of them all walked in.
