//-------------------------------------------------------// The End of Time -by El1er4to- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Death of Time //-------------------------------------------------------// Death of Time -Everything ends, nothing is eternal-The gray mare talked, her voice was broken and melancholic, the voice of someone who lived many things, maybe too much- nothing is eternal. Death reaches everything in this universe, and all the other ones. Even our more precious things fall to pieces, consumed by rust. Just time will tell how much life is left on you. Even time dies. Some can’t handle the death of their loved ones. Some do. Some break to tears. Some stay tall. I do neither. Bonbon, accompanied by her friend Lyra, looked quizzically at the gray mare whose face stood still. -Are you ok, Depy?- The coupled-color mare asked The grey mare’s face changed rapidly from serious to, well, derpy. Her voice changed too. -Uhmm, I mean... Muffins!- Her bubbly personality returned rapidly, as she looked with a happy, yet blank face at the creeped-out pair of ponies. -That’s better- Lyra said- Now let’s go, we’ll miss Twilight’s birthday Indeed, this day it was the anniversary of the day the unicorn Twilight Sparkle arrived to this world, and as usual, it tends to be celebrated. The gathering was at Twilight’s house, the tree/house/library. The presence of an incredibly huge amount of ponies was obvious, for the pony who responds to the name “Pinkie Pie” was the one to organize the party, the invitations literally rained from the sky, really. The purple and pink cake (Made as a gift by the Cakes, the bakers of Ponyville) was in the center of the room, and the whole place moved around it. The dancing of the multiple mares and stallions made the ground shake, and the birthday filly was having the time of her life. -I love it, Pinkie, you made a great job!-She screamed at the Pink Pony, who had her head on the punch bowl- you all made a great job-she looked at the other four ponies, her best friends, who worked together to prepare her party -Blarhgarbahrghahlabha- Bubbles came out of the bowl. Pinkie Pie removed her head from the beverage and shook her head, just as a dog would, her at first straight mane poofed up, soaking almost everypony nearby.- I mean, thanks, I do it for all my friends, either way. Her voice was extremely high pitched this time, apparently she had sucked helium balloons. The dancing kept going, a white unicorn with a cyan and  turquoise mane was standing behind a turntable, repeatedly bobbing her head back and forth, matching the rhythm of the music playing. She was told at the beginning of the party to stop the music at exactly 11:23 P.M. She looked at the time on her laptop in front of her. It was 11:22 P.M. She waited, moving her head closer to the screen until her trademark shades hit the little digital clock at the lower right corner of her screen. 11:23, time to move. While the madness reigned in the inside, with the party on it's climax, the outside was rather calm, extremely quiet. Only a sound could be heard. Sobbing. A brown-coated stallion with an hourglass for a cutie mark was in the corner of a dark alley, the only light was the cold, yet, calming light of the pale moon. Tonight was the night this stallion knew would come, but he never knew it would come so quickly. The stallion looked at the sky, and began talking. I knew this would happen, I knew this day had to come eventually, I knew I had to let you go, eventually, but why is it so hard?! You can't be with me forever. You need a well deserved rest. We had great times, we had awful times, but you were always with me, you were always with everyone, making sure everything happened as it should. You are my favourite companion, you are a hero. I don't want you to go... The stallion stood still in the corner, covering his face with his hooves, shedding his tears. He knew it. Everyone knew it. Everything dies. The music stopped suddenly with a scratch of her hoof on the record. Pinkie Pie approached her unicorn friend and lead her to the cake in the center of the room. -Time to blow the candles-Pinkie whispered at her friend's ear, grinning. The whole room jumped into a chorus of strangely synchronized singing. -HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU Twilight went red, she was so happy to have friends that were so nice with her. -HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU She looked at her five friends, all smiling at the other side of the table. -HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR TWILIGHT The time had almost come, tears of joy run on her face as she took a glance at everyone on the room. -HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Y... And then the song stopped. And then the laughs stopped. And then the time stopped. Twilight looked around, all the ponies were frozen, moveless, not a sound was to be heard. Their faces were completely still, in the same position they were before. Twilight laughed. -Haha, nice prank Pinkie, you got me on this one!- She gave a friendly bump at the pink pony’s leg, but here was no response. -Pinks... Pinkie... PINKIE PIE! No reaction. -So you all planned this-She looked at the guests , almost everypony in town. They were still, like statues. She moved around the room, and got her ear close to one stallion’s mouth, just to hear breathing. No breathing. Twilight was officially creeped out right now, she got close to the clock on her wall, and looked at the time. 11:24 P.M. The clock wasn’t moving -What...is...going...on... Twilight was the survivor, of the end of time.
