Chapters A young purple filly ran away from her brother giggling, "You'll never catch me!" she yelled. "Yes I will Twilight Sparkle" her brother, Shining Armor, yelled happily. He chased her through the forest, where Twilight tripped over a stump. "Tag!" Shining Armor yelled, and touched Twilight with his hoof. She got up and started to chase him out of the woods, then using her magic she pulled him backwards and giggled out a muffled "Tag!!!" and touched his back. "Hey, that's cheating!!" "No it isn't!" "Let's see how you like it them" and Shining Armor pulled her back and tagged her. "Tag!" he yelled. "Hey!" she yelled, and began to chase away Shining Armor.
Two proud parents watched from the porch of their nice sub-urban house in a 1 horse town. "You know sweetie, she got her use of magic from you! What other 5 year old filly could use her magic like she just did." Teether, Twillight's father, said smiling. Drizzle smiled, but attempted to cover it with her hood, "But Shining dear takes just after your competition side!" she said, unable to hide her smile this time. Teether rolled his eyes. "You know Teether, it's been awhile since they've played ponyball." Drizzle said, and began to giggle wildly. "No..no..I will not" "Oh come on T!" Drizzle's giggling made it hard to hear her words.
Teether got out a ball and yelled "Do you two want to play ponyball?" Twilight froze right behind Shining Armor, who also froze. Both silently tweaked around and bounced toward the ball, ready to do whatever it took to get to the ball. Teether tried to run back in time, but was attacked as well when the two young ponies tried to fight over the ball. There was a cloud of dust as Teether galloped out of the cloud, hid clothes dirt soaked. Drizzle fell on the ground with laughter, her nose contorting in and out as she tried to breath through her laughing.
When Shining Armor officialy won the ball, they decided to go play something different in the front yard, followed by Drizzle. Teether had gone inside so he could "wash up". Drizzle kept herself to her thoughts as her children began to play their tag game again. She watched, both had none of their fathers' cleanliness aspect. Both of them ran around the yard while Teether came out once more through the front door, and sat down beside his wife.
"So no magic?" Twilight asked Shining Armor as she began to look toward her direction "Yep'!" Shining Armor said and began to chase Twilight around the front yard. Twilight ran straight toward the berry bush in their front yard, and hid inside the bush. Shining Armor jumped in after her, only to find her gone. Twilight ran back up to a leaf pile and jumped into the leaf pile, she was such a tiny filly it made no noise and didn't push around much leaves. She dug down and covered her path. She was under leaves, but touched the ground. She used her magic, and she created a small forcefield dome that rendered her invisible, while also pushing leaves of her. She stayed their for and hour. "Alright, where are you? I give up!" Shining Armor yelled. Twilight took off the spell and jumped out of the leaves giggling. "Hey, Twilight, that isn't fair!" "Why? You only said you weren't allowed to use magic!" "I meant you too!"
Teether and Drizzle motioned for their kids to come in, it would be dark soon. Shining Armor and Twilight pushed at each other and yelled at each other, but then laughed hard. They were the best siblings ever. Both walked inside, and ate something quick for dinner. Drizzle and Teether walked out into the hallway. "I think Twilight should go." Teether proposed to his wife. "To see Celestia rise the sun? You think she's ready?" Drizzle asked, she wasn't very strict of a parent but for Twilight to see Celestia for the first time was a different matter "She doesn't know that she's Celestia's her aunt Teether!" "So, she should know! It might inspire her Sweetiepoo!" Drizzle's nose contorted back in disgust at the word 'sweetiepoo', "fine LoveyDuckyWovey" she said. Shining and Twilight laughed at their mother so hard they spit out their dinner. "That's enough you two!" she said, and they both were sent to bed.
Twilight lay in bed, thinking about Celestia. She had never seen the role model herself, but everything she heard about her was quite impressive. Her parents would sometimes talk about Celestia at dinner time "She says Luna is still caught, and I say I believe her. I still think she's evil though Teethie dear, do you think we should still be careful over it?" "Drizzle, of course. Think about the Enchantress!" "Oh, she's an old mares tale." then the conversation would drift of into weather and politics. She would always be loyal and faithful to the ruler, even if she never saw her for her entire life.
Slowly Twilight drifted of to sleep, dreaming about her ruler and what she may look like.

Twilight woke in the morning at 1:00, for her parents had woken up Shining Armor and her to tell her exciting news. "Me and your father have decided to take you to see Celestia rise the sun!" Drizzle exclaimed. Twilight and Shining Armor jumped up and screamed of joy. "Keep it down, or the neighbors will come, and their pep talk about our noise will make us miss it" Teether said. Twilight brushed her hair by magic and ran outside, followed by Shining Armor and her parents. The night sky still gleemed dark twilight, and the silvery moon brightened the scene. Drizzle sent them to the Shining palace by Celestia's castle.
It was already busy in Shining square, where Celestia's guards already stood. "This is what you were named after" Drizzle leaned down and whispered to Shining Armor, who straightened up and smiled. He wanted to be one of Celestia's guards when he became of age. Twilight looked around, ponies lined the streets, some already stood in the circle by the pavilion. The family stood way in the back of the circle. "Only 1 more minute" Teether said, checking his watch. Ponies flew, and teleported, in. Soon the circle was even more crowded, and the family moved back till they touched the plant pots.
"WELCOME ALL TO CELESTIA'S RISING OF THE SUN" Said a loud voice. Celestia flew up onto the stage and smiled at her subjects. "Welcome all! Are you ready to see light in the sky?" she asked. Everypony yelled a yes for the princess. She began to fly into the air, and she raised her arms. Twilight struggled to see the ruler over ponies heads, so she struggled through the crowd followed by Shining Armor. Drizzle and Teether took their eyes of Celestia to look for their children. Twilight got up to the front row, with Shining Armor beside her. She saw Celestia rise the sun, and then disappear into the sky. Everypony cheered. Twilight hardly noticed her parents pulled her to a suitable area to teleport.
Twilight sat at her desk, reading which was her favorite hobby. Shining Armor was outside, using magic to pile the leaves just so he could jump into it and let all the leaves fly away. "Twilight?" said a light voice. "Yes mother?" Twilight asked, curiosly turning to her door. "We heard that Celestia is opening a slot for her class, do you want to try out?" "YES!!! OH YEA!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! I CAN'T WAIT!!" Twilight yelled! Drizzle smiled, and gave her books on magic "you may want to do some studying then!" and left Twilight alone. Twilight opened her magic books immediantly, and was able to open them with her magic. She hoped she would be good enough to make it into Celestia's school for apprentices.
Twilight reminisced in the large white pony flying into the sky, that was beginning to turn light blue, and long elegant blue, purple, and pink hair graced across the sky and her horn glowed in the bask glory of light, her wings so long and beautiful against the light blue sky. Her cutie mark shone as the sun was raised, and innocent light flowed over all the ponies. Twilight had nothing but respect for the elegant princess.
She began to study magic, and practice it on an apple all night long. She would work so hard to make it into Celestia's school that it would hurt.

Twilight awoke in the morning, and pulled her face off of her book. She looked forward and saw the sun already up. It was already 8:00 in the morning! Her appointment at Celestia's castle was in an hour. Twilight brushed her hair with magic, washed up with magic, and finally cleansed her teeth by magic. She went off with her parents, and Shining Armor stayed home creating and destroying leaf piles. Twilight's stomach churned, and she was sweaty. She blinked and took deep breaths.
Twilight walked into a small circular room, where 4 judges sat there waiting for someone actually good
Her nervousness clenched her magic, she almost hatched the small freckled egg. "Ugh" she moaned. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and saw a flash of rainbow. She lost control of her magic. Her parents turned into objects, so did the judges, the dragon hatched and turned giant and then back to tiny. When Twilight finally stopped, her parents & the judges were back to normal, she fell to the ground.
Celestia strode in casually, and walked to Twilight. Twilight feared her rejection, though she knew she deserved it. She had torn a hole in the roof of Celestia's castle, and her judges into objects. "You have very wonderful magic Twilight Sparkle, magic very hard to obtain I hardly even have that strong of magic. I would like you to be my own personal pupil." she leaned down to her and pointed toward my hip "and something else" she started. She looked back slowly "MY CUTIE MARK!!! WOOT!! Oh thank you Celestia!" She yelled and ran up and embraced the princess. She hugged her back, and leaned down and whispered her something, a secret she was told to keep. So she did.
Twilight ran off to her parents, who took her outside to teleport and congragulate her.
Celestia looked toward the judges "She had to far of magical abilities at age 5. She needs help to control them, so they don't make her completely insane. I need your word that you will look after her and make sure she makes friends when I send her to Ponyville after about 10 more years of training, for that is essential. I won't live forever, and I need a girl to stay in the royal blood. She doesn't know I am her aunt or that if Candace doesn't marry she will become queen . I need to keep that from her, she needs to live a normal life and not go insane with power. Do I have your word?"
All the judges nodded to Celestia. "Good heavens then, I must go and prepare for 10 years of training with an overly powerful young filly who's first lesson is tommorow."
The judges watched her stride out with wonder. She was so casual, yet so buisness like. Her elegant hair followed her out the door.
"I don't know why I have to make friends while I'm in Ponyville!" Twilight ranted to Spike, her dragon she had gotten from Celestia, "I'm going there just to make sure the party is coming along nicely. It isn't my job to make sure I have got friends" Twilight set back in the carriage and huffed "Actually it kinda is....you did say anything Celestia told you is your job..and she said you should make friends.." Spike stuttered. Twilight gave her an evil stare with her horn lighting up. Spike retired to under the carriage seat. Twilight put her feet up and closed her eyes.
Her loyalty to the princess didn't waver as Celestia became Queen and Candace moved into the role of princess. Spike climbed back up to the seat and began looked at Twilight. To Spike she was pure perfection. Her eyes were a lucious shade of purple, her hair lay perfect, her tail was so bushy and elegant . Spike got lost in her eyes as she turned to him "Spike, hello...Spike" her voice was muffled like she was talking underwater "SPIKE" her scream got rid of Spike's visions "Will you please hand me my checklist of the party planning?" she asked. "Sure Twilight" said Spike, as he handed her the checklist. Spike went back to day dreaming.
Twilight was tired, and frazzled from her last night's magic studies. She learned a dark spell that could break open anything. She used it all night before Spike told her to lay off the magic, even thought he was her helper he could be...how do I say this...tiring. Twilight thought hard, why would Celesita say she needed friends ? She was already the best unicorn in all of Equestria! Why would she need friends to help her through her trip to Ponyville, when she already had the power to create, destroy, and rebuild anything she wanted to. Why did she need friends?
Pinkie Pie, a bright pink filly with a knack for parties, laughed as she pranced down the street. She was planning something fabulous for their new guest Twilight Sparkle. Fluttershy, a light yellow pony who tried to hide herself under her hair, smiled lightly and tried to keep up with Pinkie. "We just need to get some more refreshments for Twilght Sparkle. Let's go find apple jack!" Pinkie prounounced laughing harder. Fluttershy whispered an "okay" and ran to try to keep up with Pinkie. "Should we check on Rainbow--" Fluttershy began but Pinkie pointed up to the clouds were Rainbow Dash worked on the position of the clouds. She stopped and waved. "Hi rainbow dash" Fluttershy whispered, but Rainbow Dash (who had been Fluttershy's friend for a while and could hear her no matter how soft) only waved and pushed more clouds into a pile.
Celestia sighed "Candace, you cannot force men to marry you only because you wish to be Princess! If Twilight becomes of age and marries she will become princess , you must find true love not fake it!" Candace rolled her eyes "Whatever Auntie Celest, I know just the man who loves me and I love him" she laughed and flew out the window. Celestia sighed again and sat down on a chair. "I don't know how I put up with her" Celestia said to herself, secretly hoping Twilight Sparkle would marry and not Candace.
Celestia didn't know who Candace was trying to persuade, but anything she did could only result in pure torture for the queen of Equestria.
Twilight jumped on the ground and landed in Ponyville. Pinkie Pie ran up to her yelled "hi" covered her mouth and ran off again. Twilight rolled her eyes "yeah Celestia, i'll find friends" she said out loud yeah right not in this freakshow she thought. Fluttershy sat by a tree "just sing like this---la la la la la la la-----alright" she said to the birds, who copied her "good, here's a treat" she threw them some bird seed. "Who's it going?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy screamed and jumped up in the air, her wings activating. The birds flew up after her. "Sorry, I see you're doing good!" she said. "Oh, uh yeah... you should see Rainbow Dash, I'll take you up there.
Fluttershy picked up Twilight and flew her out into the sky, Spike holding on tightly to her neck.
Yeah, in this freak show i'm sure to find friends Celestia Twilight thought.
