//-------------------------------------------------------// Not Anymore: Side Story Central! -by ResidentZeldaBau5z- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Notice! //-------------------------------------------------------// Introductary Notices Introductory Notices: If you prefer, skip the first two chapters. Refer back to them if you have questions. The story starts with chapter 3. 1- I am fine with people borrowing my ideas and concepts. Just inform me first. I will not usually say no, but I need to know if you are going to use something in my story so YOU do not get a bunch of people trying to report you. I also have to make sure that the content my friends have lent me for the story is not misused. 2- The official page for this story is Epic of Derek: Immortal in Name. It is a Facebook page used by myself and my admins to write and further plan out the story. Check here (http://www.facebook.com/groups/343833405712489/) for news on the story and plot developments. Please do not comment, as it’s supposed to be for the story only. 3- My editors and material approvers are Pasky and Raquel. Otherwise known as Storm Bolt and RDash 5000. You can talk with them once they make accounts on this site. 4- The official production time is 7-14 days per chapter. It may take longer, or we may release chapters early. We DO have lives to live. 5- In total there are going to 170 chapters. That includes this and the Character Guide. 6- There are 7 canon arcs, and 7 side arcs. The side arcs are for parts of the story that happen and develop outside of the action. Everything will happen in chronological order. I will release a snippet of the final chapter for you all to judge. The story switches perspective often, just to warn you. 7- Each Arc has three sections. Beginning, Middle, and End. Each section has four chapters. Each Arc will be numbered. 8- The chapter format is as following ONLY in Canon Arcs- Arc, Section, Chapter. Ex,-Arc7, End, Chapter 4. 9- The chapter format in Side Arcs is as follows- Side Arc Set, Side Arc, Section, Chapter.                  Ex.-Side Arc Set 2, Side Arc 6, Beginning, Chapter 2. 10- There are 3 side arc sets. A set refers to when the arcs occur chronologically. Side Arcs 1-3 happen after arc 4 and lead to arc 5. This is side arc set 1, in between canon arcs 4 and 5. Then, Canon Arc 6 sets the path for the next Set. Side arcs 3-6 are Side arc Set 2. They happen in between canon arcs 6 and 7. Then, the conclusion of the side arcs arrives in a single separate Side arc that happens directly between Set 2 and canon Arc 7. It resolves the issues of the previous side arc set. It is counted as Set3. Then, the final canon arc arrives. 11- This story, whether or not it is liked, ignored, or even hated, will be written until the last arc comes out. I put too much effort into planning this fic to not do so. The same is true for the follow up stories. 12- This story will occasionally go on hiatus. They will not be long, but there are times when stuff happens, like the Regents or a broken ankle (both of which are irksome ordeals). 13-           I let my editors add their own thoughts. This is usually in author notes and the like. 14- There is a character and a plot guide. I will also include custom made OC depictions for the characters I have created or that I have convinced my friends to allow me to borrow. 15- Before anyone hits the dislike button, read this. Derek is NOT an alicorn. His body changes its DNA to match that of the local planetary inhabitants. He can grow wings due to the fact that he can bring out the *Pegasus* traits in equine DNA. He does have a few Alicorn forms, but as there are several types across different branches of equestrian reality, he prefers to not use them. He does have the ability to integrate humanoid DNA into his pony body, but it gets translated to pony DNA. The crystal on his head is not a horn, but the conduit that attaches Derek's consciousness to the hos shell he is occupying. His "horn" is actually built into his hooves. This becomes completely unnecessary later, as the pony form is quickly abandoned for a more battle suitable one. 16- This story is the first installment of a trilogy, with the entire thing having 340 total chapters, not including the side stories. 17-  (Read below) *Character Bio-  Derek: Semi-Immortal and slightly weak human who’s various forms and personality swings are caused by the multiple facets of his composite being. Derek has Long red hair, characterized by the two splits in the back and the three protruding bangs in the front. At this point, he is biologically around 16 years old and stands 5'1''. He has a slender, effeminate build, leading to many other Immortals nick-naming him as "The Trap", not only for his girlish looks, but for his passive and accepting demeanor. His pain tolerance and signature techniques are renowned, but he himself is not. He can summon up a stylized armor which he can control the spread and look of, with the style varying with each form. This, along with several other combat methods, are crutch techniques Derek uses to allow himself to fight effectively. His basic form is his Composite State. However, Derek absorbed three powerful beings in distinct situations. After absorbing a Will Master, Derek loses his ability to preserve consciousnesses by absorbing them and making them a part of him. This caused a separation between Derek's different personality facets, leading to Derek's faceted personality splitting into attributes. After a turbulent past filled with trauma, battle, and ridicule at the hands of other immortals that were once human, Derek suffered a lapse in judgment. The resulting "data crash" devastated his memory. This caused his "immortality" to seal itself away and Derek’s faceted personality attributes to split off from the composite being. They are reclaimed later, however. The Cores: Powerful Immortal beings Derek had absorbed earlier on, which became a part of him, greatly increasing his power. All of them were absorbed accidentally, with exception to the will core. -The MagiTech Core: Formerly a being known as Destiny Rizer, charged with altering, storing, and gathering Derek’s memories and any knowledge that can possibly be attained within the local dimension. Rizer was once a scholar of both the most advanced technologies and the most arcane magics, but after being heavily injured due to a malfunction with his own power, Rizer forcibly summoned someone who could preserve his consciousness. This lead to Derek being summoned and consequentially absorbing Rizer and making him a part of the Composite Being. This core Gives Derek control over technology and magic, allowing Derek to SCAN and perceive anything, be it a language, a person’s memories, or an never encountered form of magic r technology. This core has a geeky looking avatar for manifestation purposes, often wearing steam punk or “high-tech” looking armor, with arcane looking runes suspended in an almost invisible aura that has transparent data stream running through it. You can almost make out the ones and zeroes. -The Energy Core: Formerly a tiny fragment of a piece of the Omniverse Maintenence Being called Zendrel (there are giant blankets of sentient energy that move around and basically help power time and act as a janitorial crew for the omniverse's instances when they can. They also manage dimensions and on occasion, manifest small pieces of their energy as a physical being to resolve things on a mortal level.). It is in charge of how Derek manipulates elements, concepts, matter, and energy.  This core’s avatar is very sleek and somewhat emo looking, but keeps a good style on it. -The Will Core: Formerly a close friend of Derek's. The Will Core was once the Will Master George Fenrir, grandson of Jason Frederick Fenrir(Jason was the first and most powerful Will Master) and the seventh strongest Will Master. It contains Derek’s power to create and gives him the ability to copy a Will Master's powers. As such, it allows him to summon his trade mark armors, weapons, and form changes. The Will Core also anchors a good chunk of Derek’s personalities and is what originally allows Derek to actually manipulate the other aspects of himself. This core’s avatar is generally chameleon like, but its favorite form is that of a very serious looking entity in official looking combat gear. It is the only part of Derek that actually is not fully bound to him. The Will Core contains copies of the personality, soul, mind, and memories of George Fenrir, but is not actually him. The actual Will Master was temporarily "shattered", but was revived later by a group of Immortae and Will Masters.Still, it acts like him, and willingly stays as a part of Derek's immortal being. (Each core has its own personality and is capable of functioning without and even exiting Derek). Personality Attributes: -The Elemental attribute, which alters his personality to suit whatever elemental form he has manifested in. It also allows Derek to synchronize with his armor to better control it. The armor eventually becomes obsolete as it becomes permanently grafted to Derek's composite being in a metaphysical state and can no longer be manifested as a physical object. This attribute eventually becomes a part of the MindSoul. -The Dark attribute, the part of Derek that contains a small amount of the all consuming darkness of equality, neutrality, and balance, the very omnipresent and almost all-powerful semi-sentient substance that simply existed before the creation of light and shadow. The TINY amount in him allows Derek to perform incredible feats of power, most notably the Orderly CHAOS, Dark Consumption, and RANDOMNESS-SHADE abilities. It makes him one of the 47 Original Darkness users currently among the immortals and one of the 13 who can manipulate VOID. While he is on the bottom of both lists, he is tsill enough of a loose cannon to be considered a threat. -The Insanity Attribute. Sections of Derek's mind and soul have been so traumatized or otherwise alienated that they have gone insane in different ways, coming together in a melting pot of crazy. Derek didn't want to be driven fully insane by these sections, so he stuffs them into a section of himself he explicitly created for this purpose. This was originally the "evil" part of Derek, but after The Chaos Reform, the "evil" within the crazy was replaced with chaos magic, forming The Inner Shadows attribute, contained within the Insanity attribute until it spawned Sombrae, after which it became more benevolent. It is still sadistic and self serving, and allows Derek to be able to use corrupt and evil magic without being truly Evil himself. The Insanity attribute itself does not mind containing Sombrae and the Inner Shadow, but after becoming the Chaos Attribute, it loses it's original storage functions. Once the Insanity Attribute is fully reformed into the Chaos Attribute, The Chaos Attribute fuses the Inner Shadow and Sombrae into a new distinct being. This happens after the Chaos attribute becomes a distinct manifest being from Derek and roams free, despite still being bound to Derek. -The Empathetic Attribute represents  reason, logic, and emotion. It also contains Derek's psychic abilities. It becomes a part of the MindSoul attribute very early on in the story. -The MindSoul. We arrive at Derek’s most unstable and dangerous side. One night, Derek’s mind and soul basically fused. Note- There is a difference between SoulMinds and MindSouls. This is also the basis for many of his powers. Later on, Derek's MindSoul is filled with Equestrian Magic. It fades over time, eventually fully pushed out by the Magic of Music, which becomes a permanent part of the MindSoul. *The Inner Shadow- A future attribute which has already been explained. It's personality manifests as Sombrae, with the IS being the power source. While originally HOSTED and SEALED by the Chaos Attribute, it is no longer a part of the Chaos Attribute. However, after becoming an independent being, The Sombrae took on a new name and began to view The Chaos Attribute in a paternal fashion, evenually considering Derek to be his "grandfather", with Chaos becoming his "Father". Derek does not share these views, but the Chaos Attribute does. *The Blank Attribute- An attribute that simply serves as a conduit for Derek to use abilities incompatible with himself. Develops after the Empathetic and Elemental attributes are absorbed by the MindSoul. This attribute will also be absorbed by the MindSoul eventually. *The Composite Anchor-  Derek himself. While still somewhat faceted and moody, this is the final product of Derek's immortality and personality. While connected to and partially maintained by his cores and attributes, Derek is largely self sufficient. He, however, cannot  use certain abilities or reach his full power unless all his aspects are united and synchronized with him. This is good, as they are usually dormant. Later, it is revealed that his Composite self is more like a coin balanced on the edge between heads and tails. Overtime, the only attributes left become independent and manifest, but are still bound to him. The Mortal and Immortal sides of Derek's composite being also rip themselves out of Derek, causing Derek to almost cease to exist. Eventually, Harmony is re-achieved. The Incident- After a major battle took place across the omniverse to keep all of time running it’s eternal cycle. It was called the Instance War. The point was stopping an army of rogue entities from all across time/space from succeeding in their scheme to END EVERYTHING. Derek was one of the few who had not truly participated much among those who picked a side (Neutral, Defenders, Rogues.). Shunned and utterly disrespected by the majority of his peers, he finally snapped. The resulting memory crash made Derek’s cores a permanent part of him and messed up his memory. The energy wave messed with a certain time stream. Thus, the crazed immortal was pulled into Equestria. There, he lived a life of randomness and fun until he got into a fight with an odd group of six mares who possessed "incredible power". The clash required the presence of both ruling alicorns to resolve it. The raw power created feedback and the distraction was enough to make Derek lose. The concentrated blast of raw equestrian magic created a lash-back wave that permeated throughout the entire equestrian world. Derek’s personal energy radiated from every corner of Equestria, slowly pulling back into him. After a few hours, Derek was altered. The magic of equestria had become assimilated into his MindSoul, creating a new entity( later reversed completely when Derek perfects the Magic of Music and permeates it into his MindSoul to dump out his equestrian magic residue. This magic later becomes a permanent part of the MindSoul). He just literally spent hours singing and dancing non-stop and generally being a joyful, stereotypical pony, as the magical balance of Equestria began to correct itself. Most of the magic in Derek returned to the land, leaving the guy to a fate of mindlessly performing complicated dances for all eternity. But fortunately, the dimensional imbalance caused the Hyrule Dimension Set to approach and interfered with a certain Hero’s teleportation. So Link gained an equestrian form and quickly bumped into Derek. The residual power of the TriForce caused Derek to reboot himself. Link was stuck staring into the data stream of Derek’s pupils. Within 5 minutes, everything came rushing back. This time, he was in perfect balance and was able to take all the trauma head on. Forming a bond with Link, the two set off to see what they could do to restore Derek’s  shattered attributes. Apparently, they had been scattered along with the majority of his power across Equestria. After this, both Link and Derek learn how to shed their Pony forms and expel the Equestrian magic in them. This allows Link to return to Hyrule and Derek to finally restore all his power, actually increasing it significantly. *Special Note: Derek made the key to unlocking his power his name. As long as he remembers his true name, he can automatically reboot his cores and unlock his powers. This will be very significant in a few chapters. .
