"Come on, Twilight! We'll be late for the festival, again! What's taking so long?"
Twilight was up in her room, putting on her costume for Nightmare Night. From the results of last year's costume, Twilight has decided to instead dress as Equestria's most beloved pony, or alicorn, in this case. You guessed it. Princess Celestia. Twilight came out a few minutes later.
"Who are you supposed to be?"
"How do you not know who I'm supposed be!?"
"Twi-"
"It took weeks to make this! I even did the exact design on the armor!"
"Twi!"
"I mean really! Do yo-"
"TWILIGHT!"
"What?"
"I was just kidding. Calm down."
"Oh. Yeah..."
Twilight's face glowed red with embarrassment.
"Sorry, Spike. I didn't mean to yell at you."
"It's ok. Ready to go to the castle?"
"Sure."
Twilight picks up her doll, Smarty Pants, and is ready to go. Spike sees the doll and almost laughs. Trying hard to keep in his laughter, he asks why she was bringing that. Twilight clutches her doll closer as he asks.
"I just... I'm scared of the dark at times, ok?"
"Why?"
"When I was a filly, I snuck out of my house in the middle of the night to find the library. I was so obsessed with books back then. Of course not as much as I am now, but we're getting off topic here. While I went looking for the library, I got lost in the Everfree Forest."
"Why did you go in there?"
"The library was in the forest. It was an old one. About a couple hundred years old. Anyway, I was lost, cold, and scared. I was all alone, that is until I saw something move in the darkness. I couldn't completely tell, but I thought I saw Smarty Pants, standing and pointing towards the direction of my house. He grabbed my hoof and guided me all the way home. When my parents came outside to find me, Smarty Pants suddenly plopped onto the ground, as if he lost his life force or something. My parents were too relieved to notice that Smarty Pants was there. That's why I've been carrying him around a lot lately. Tonight was the night I got lost."
Twilight noticed that Spike was on the floor, asleep.
"Every, single, one..."
Twilight wakes up Spike and they set off. Everypony was gathering in the abandoned castle this year to commemorate Princess Luna's return, as well as having a spooky background for the speech. It took a while, but the pair made it to the castle just in time. However, the speech wasn't as Twilight anticipated. It was too boring, even for her!
"Hey, Spike..."
"Yeah?"
"Want to leave? This is too boring."
"Too boring?! For you?"
"Yeah."
"How about we look around the castle?"
"That sounds better than this."
The Inner Chambers...
"Ugh. This place is disgusting. They really need to clean this place up. There's nothing but cobwebs and vines in here."
Then, Twilight and Spike spotted something glowing in a crack. They are looking through the crack and they spot a jewel on a stone column. It's shaped like a triangulated star in bright blue and green. Twilight notices that Spike's mouth was watering. He licked his lips and tried to reach for the diamond, but it was too far away for him to grab. Twilight want's to know what that is as well. So she uses her magic to open the crack as wide as possible.
"Spike, could you get the gem? I can't hold this crack open much longer."
"Got it!"
"And don't eat the gem! I want to know what that is before you eat it!"
"Grrr. Fine"
Spike squeezed through the crack, grabbed the gem, and then ran back out, just as the crack shrunk to its original size. Both Twilight and Spike stared at the gem in intrest. But Spike is looking more hungry. He opens his mouth to eat it, but Twilight pulls it away just in time. Twilight magically taps the gem. Suddenly, a blast of energy comes out of the gem and zap into Smarty Pants. The gem loses its color. A magical ora floats around Smarty Pants, then it disappears. But something is not right. About Smarty Pants.
