Meanwhile with Rarity

Rarity was waking up happily snug in her bed like a bug in a rug. Such thoughts of bugs disgusted her but she was definitely comfortable in her bed. It only made it worse since she had to get up and run the boutique. She slowly pulled herself free of the covers and went to get clean.

After a lovely bath and grooming, Rarity was ready to face the day. She looked over at the clock, seeing how much time she had before ponies would come in.

6:30, perfect, just enough time to get ready.

She grabs a rake with her magic and heads outside, only to smash right into another pony. Rarity gets up rubbing her head and finds Rainbow Dash laying on the ground. "Oh I'm so sorry dear! I didn't see you there!" She helps Rainbow Dash up and brings her inside.

Rainbow Dash slumps in a chair. "It's nothing, Rarity."

Rarity notices her friend's defeated expression. "Is everything ok Rainbow Dash? You seem... upset."

"It's fine Rarity."

"Are you sure? I could help, you know?"

"I's fine."

"You know I can keep a secret, please Rainbow, just tell me."

Rainbow Dash sighs and looks away. "I got fired today."

Rarity gasped. "What?! Why?!"

"Layoff, most of the old staff. My head was on the chopping block because I was lazy and "didn't do my job well."

Rarity hugged Rainbow Dash tightly. "Oh I'm so sorry. Let me help you."

Rainbow Dash pushed Rarity away. "No, I can handle it. I got my last paycheck yesterday so I have a month before I need to pay my rent, I'll find something."

"Are you sure? I could ask the girls and they could-"

Rainbow Dash immediately jumps up from the chair. "NO! Don't tell anypony about this! Especially Applejack!

Rarity snorted, which she regretted since it was so unladylike. "If this is about that stupid rivalry, you can forget it."

"I don't want her or anyone else to think I'm weak. I have a rep to protect."

"Come on. You need help, besides, you could do a good job on the farm. They could always use the help."

"NO! Don't tell her!

Rarity rolled her eyes. "Fine, but if this gets out of hand, I will have to tell them. With or without your permission."

Rainbow Dash sighs. "Fine, do you know any good jobs lately?"

"Well... there's a listing in the paper. Wait here a second." Rarity grabs the paper out of her mailbox and gives it to Rainbow Dash. "Are you sure I can't help?"

"Positive, could I read this over here if I'm quiet?"

"I don't see why not, sure." Rarity sighs. "I just worry about you, your treating this like it's nothing. You were working there for 5 years, and you don't want to fight for it? It's just not you."

Rainbow Dash looked up from the paper. "I know when something is pointless."

Rarity looks like she wants to say something but she walks away to deal with a pair of customers at the front desk.

Rainbow Dash goes to the first job on the list and sits with the boss.

Crafty Crate looks at her resume and back at her. "So you want to be a construction worker?"

Rainbow Dash nods. "Yep, I'm pretty quick so it could be helpful to the job."

Crafty Crate looks back at the resume. "You used to work for Whimsy Weather? What caused you to quit that job to work here?"

Rainbow Dash sighed. "I was laid off. Gonna pay the bills, right?"

Crafty Crate nods. "Very true, let me tell you what, you start tomorrow on intern, you'll start earning by the end of this week."

Rainbow Dash shook his hoof. "Thank you so much, what are the hours?"

"We start at 4 pm sharp and stop at 1 am, you grab your gear when you walk in and go to work, you can do that right?"

Rainbow Dash smiles and nods. "Absolutely, see you tomorrow." She heads out of the room.

"You want to be an assistant teacher? Can I ask why?"

Rainbow Dash was in the Ponyvile school, talking to Cherilee about an assistant job. "I'm good with children, besides I know how to keep them awake."

Cherilee frowned. "We do need to keep the students awake but... I'm just not sure if you would be the best for the job. According to your past employer, you seem to have a problem with doing work for a long period of time."

"I'm trying to turn over a new leaf, I promise you that I can be a good assistant."

Cherilee sighs and looks up from the resume. "This job requires you to help me with papers, organizing assignments and classes and keep an eye on cheaters during tests and quizes. Are you sure you can do all of that?"

"Positive, what are the hours?"

"You start at 7 am and end at 2:30 pm, however you continue working after hours."

Rainbow Dash thinks about the time she'll have between both jobs.

It'll be tough, but I need both of these jobs in order to make rent.I'll also have to take it easy with my stuff and buying new stuff. I can do this, after all, I am Equestria's greatest and fastest flier, how hard could this be?

Meanwhile with Rarity...

Rarity was with her friends, Applejack, Twilight, Fluttershy after some prodding, and Pinky Pie in the library. "Girls... I'm worried about Rainbow Dash."

Twilight gave Rarity a curious look as she passes out drinks. "Why? She can handle herself."

Rarity bites her tongue but continues. "I think she could be depressed."

Applejack chuckles as sips her drink . "She seemed pretty happy walking out of the school according to Applebloom, I think your worrying too much."

Rarity blinked. "She did?"

Pinky Pie drinks something bubbly, giggly. "She was all smiley when she went to talk to Derpy's boss, Crafty Crate too."

Rarity sipped on her drink. Maybe I am worrying too much, she is more than able to do her job. Still, two jobs could be a bit much if she piles them on each other.

Fluttershy kept quiet and sipped her drink. I hope she knows what she's doing, this could be bad if every pony else knows. I'm glad Rarity didn't tell them but if Rainbow Dash knew I was sleeping over at Rarity's when she came clean, she might freak out.
