Hiding

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The two sisters stared at each other for what felt like hours.Even though it was in fact only six seconds.

“Celestia? What happened? Why are you so small? You look like a filly!” The solar princess gave a confused look in response, and furrowed her brow.

“I know you are fond of pranks, Lu. but bribing my guards to knock me out? This has gone too far, sister! I demand you undo your spell; this instant!” Celestia growled adorably and using the cutest angry face ever.

Luna tried to suppress a smile while looking at her 'elder' sibling. “I am not the culprit of this ‘prank’ you speak of. Furthermore, your guards have not been bribed, and I am just as confused about why you are so small as you are, my dear sister.” Luna waved her hoof in the air to dismissed the guards.

When Luna was certain they were alone, she turned to her “elder” sibling. “So. What did you do this time, huh? Please don’t tell me you did not add poison joke to your cake again! Remember what happened last time? Your mane turned green for two days!” Luna grinned devilishly as princess Celestia blushed.

“No! I have not, Luna! Are you telling me that you are not responsible for this?” the little princess was trying to look as menacing as possible with her wings raised and the hardest glare she could muster, though she only managed to make herself look even more adorable. When Luna’s smile grew even wider Celestia gave up, and plopped down back on the floor.

“Then what has happened? Why am I a filly again? I look completely ridiculous! And not only that but I feel sl…eepy” Celestia let out a tiny yawn that sounded more like a puppy whining.

“I will rest, Luna. And then we shall figure out what has happened. Until then; NOPONY must know of this. Are we clear?” Luna nodded still wearing her large grin.

“Ok, then” The solar princess muttered, as she jumped onto Luna’s bed and curled up into the pillow  “I will sleep here, so no pony can see me” She let out yet another yawn before closing her eyes and falling asleep with a pout on her face.

A few minuets later, princess Luna left her bedroom with a mixture of mirth and confusion on her face. ‘Why has our sister suddenly been bestowed youth...’ She was jerked out of her thoughts by the guards that had escorted Celestia to her.

“Your majesty. Was that trully the princess?” A light grey guards pony wearing the solar guards armour asked. Though by the look on his face, he appeared to be on the verge of panic,

“Calm thyself, soldier. You had no way of knowing that was your princess. Now be gone, and speak to nopony of this. Understood?”.

The guard nodded, and scampered off to get back to his post. Princess Luna stood thinking for a moment about her next move. ‘We must find out what has reverted Tia back to filly hood... And soon…. Maybe her student…ummm… Sparkles-something can help us! After all, she knows more about modern magic’s than I’

She started off towards her sisters room hoping to find a way to end a message to her students pet dragon the way Celestia did. On the way, she contemplated to political side effects if this could not be reversed ‘How will we keep the Kingdom together? I have had few enough supporters as it is. And those damn nobles can be so hard to deal with these days'.

As she reached her sisters chambers, the princess checked for any traces of magic’s before entering. She found none.  Entering the room, she looked around, noticing much of the features for the first time, since she has barely ever entered this room in the castle. Looking around, she saw that all of the furnishings were made out of birch or marble inlaid with what appeared to be solid gold! Or a wide variety of gems. ‘My, my. Tia certainly has expensive tastes. There must be thousands of bits worth of gems in her furniture! And this marble must have been made with Pegasus magic’s built in. We will have to invest in some new furniture if we want to top this!’

As she looked around the room, Luna noticed various runes of the griffon style carved on the side of her sisters bed. ‘What’s this, then?’ As she ran her hoof along the carvings, she recognised them, but for the life of her could not remember where she had seen them before. Or what they meant.

'Mayhaps they are just for decorations?' The younger of the royal siblings put a hoof to her chin in thought.

'We shall have to ask our sister later. But for now, we must contact Miss Sparkles!'.

While Princess Luna was wandering the halls of canterlot castle, her distressed "elder" sibling

was trying her best to appear regal in Luna's barely worn regalia in her room.

"Confound this curse!" Mini Celestia whined, "Guard! I require assistance!" A few seconds and muffled words later, one of Luna's guards entered the lunar princesses chambers looking rather nervous.

"Y-yes, your majesty?" The night blue guard with the menacing looking lunar armour waddled uncertainly up to the little princess with a timid look on his face. "You asked for assistance?".

Princess Celestia tried to put on her best scowl but only ended up looking cute. "Yes I require you to"..she mumbled something to quiet to hear while looking to the ground sheepishly.

The guard gulped, wearily still unsure of the day princesses personality. "W-what was that, your majesty? You require me to..?".

"C-could you get those for me?" She pointed upwards to the top of the alicorn sized dresser that contained all of Luna's regalia and precious items. "I cant reach!" She yelled quickly then continued looking to the floor with an embarresed expression plastered on her face.

"A-at your command, your highness!". Quickly reaching up and gently picking up and lowering his princesses crown, and neckless to the filly.

"Do you require anything else, your highness?" The guard asked feeling a little more confident.

"No, no. I am fine now...thank you!" The little princess said excitedly, while putting on her sisters crown and necklace. She looked quite ridiculous, with the obviously over sized jewelry, while having a huge silly grin pasted on her face.

Princess Luna was pacing up and down the throne room. She had sent a messege to her sisters student about ten minutes ago, and had still heard nothing. She started overthinking the situation. 'What if Tia never turns back! What if we have to govern the country on our own! We-' She was taken out of her internal panic when one of her guards rushed up to her with a scared look on his face.

"Your highness, we require your help!" The guard wheezed.

"Calm thou tits, soldier! Inform us clearly of the situation." Luna raised her brow in confusion

"S-sorry your highness. It's Princess Celestia. S-she made us play hide and seek with her, and we cant find her!"

Luna's eyes narrowed, "You...lost her?!"

The guard hesitantly nodded.

Suddenly the princess of the night took off at full speed towards her chambers, no longer caring about the reply from twilight Sparkle. As Luna raced off the guard stood there dumbstruct.

'Giggle. Violet eyes peered out from inside a draw, checking for any pursuers. Satisfied that she would not be seen, Celestia poked her head out of a draw in Princess Luna's dresser. Sniffing the air carefully, the little filly jumped out of her hiding spot, and crept towards the chambers door. Hesitantly, she nudged it to open a crack. She slowly glanced out, and saw no guards on the other side. With a large grin, the small princess sprinted out of the room, and across the corridor to the room on the far side. Hearing startled shouts and the clopping of hoove's, Celestia dolphin dived through the door just in time as she saw her sister skid around the corner, and barrel into her room.

Giggling, the princess of the day turned around to see what was inside the room. It was a small storage room made out of granite, and old dusty mahogany, or birchwood furniture; of which was littered around the place in an unorganised fashion.  Turning around once more to listen to the commotion outside the door; Celestia pressed her ear againts the cold dusty wooden door, but heard nothing but mumbles. Opening the door a crack to be able to hear better, and peek out a tad, she saw her sibling tearing apart her room. Bed upturned, draws all over the floor, all rifled through and the door of Luna's dresser swinging lifelessly on its one remaining hinge. Listening carefully Celestia could hear her sister shouting.

"HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY LOSE AN ALICORN IN A ROOM THIS SIZE!"

All the guards flinched back at the volume of their princesses voice, and looked at the floor in shame.

"S-she is very small now, your grace" one very brave guard said with what little confidence he could muster "W-we counted to fifty five just like we were commanded to, and then she was just gone."

Luna facehoofed hard enough for even Celestia to hear from her hiding spot.

"No..." Luna spoke in a calmer tone now. "If you had looked everywhere, then my sister would have been found.." Luna continued to berrate the guards on there uselessness some more, but the little princess had other ideas.

While her Lunas, and the guards gaze were occupied, Celestia slipped out of the room, and silently galloped down the long hall deeper into the castle. 'This is going to be the best game of hide and seek ever!'
