Derpy Hooves started her walk back from Sweet Apple Acres towards the town and shouted back to the farm "Thank you Applejack!" She heard her reply "No problem sugar cube!" Derpy admired the area surrounding here, the lush green grass and the rows upon rows of apple trees filled with bright red and green apples ready for the picking. She thought of the time the "Flim Flam Brothers", as they called themselves, showed up and tried to out do the Apple family in cider production. She spoke to herself quietly "Boy, that was the day." she remembered all that apple cider and the terrible stomach ache that came along to ruin. Regardless, she stepped into town and headed to Sugar Cube Corner to pick up her muffins.
Derpy Hooves was walking down the street humming what sounded like the Winter Wrap-Up song, her saddlebags were slightly bouncing against her as she trotted down the street towards Sugar Cube Corner. Today was an important day for Derpy, her and Luna were getting together later that night for a hardcore gaming session. They usually did this once every month or so and they usually ended up with some wicked headaches the next day but it all meant well.
Derpy ran over a mental checklist of what to get "Soda, check. Apples, check. Chips, check. Dip, check. Ponylands 2, double check. That just leaves the muffins!" She smiled to herself and continued down the street. She started to wonder to herself "I wonder what Luna's gathering up for tonight."
She stopped at the bakery and opened it's door to be greeted a ecstatic pink mare and the smell of freshly baked muffins. "Hi Derpy!" Pinkie Pie was in her usually bouncy and energetic mood, Derpy walked up to the counter and asked Pinkie "Are the muffins ready?" She was sniffing the air and the thought of flaky, warm blueberry muffins filled her mind.
Pinkie pulled out a box and placed it on the counter "You betchya! They JUST got out of the oven! I made sure to use EXTRA blueberries, just like you asked!" Derpy pulls out just enough bits to pay for the muffins, and puts the box in her saddlebag "Thanks Pinkie!" Derpy walked out of the bakery and started to fly towards the castle. "If I want to get to castle on time I gotta hurry!" Flying as fast as she could without dropping the food, she darted towards the castle with a zig-zagged motion.
She wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, exhausted from all the hard work. "Alright, that's everything sorted out." Luna looked around her game room, examining the small shelves filled with video games, strategy guides and anything else a gamer could need. Luna stared up at the wall clock, "It's 6:30, Derpy should be here any minute." Luna walked onto the balcony connected to her room and looked for the smaller grey pegasus.
"Luuuunaaa!"
She heard a faint whisper in the distance calling her name.
"Hello?!" She shouted back.
"I'm baaaaack!" The voice replied, growing louder every second. Only then did she realize it was the voice of Derpy Hooves returning from town. She giggled to herself as the pegasus made zig-zagged motions in the air towards the castle.
"Do you have all of the stuff?!" She shouted back hoping for a reply.
"Yes I do!" Derpy was now only a couple of meters from the castle and Luna could hear her very clearly.
"Hurry up! We don't got all day!" When Luna said this, Derpy sped up at a dizzying speed for someone of her athletic strength and was within the castle walls in a couple of seconds. Derpy sat down on the balcony to catch her breath, she was panting from the distance she had just flown. "Got... the... snacks..." Derpy managed those couple of words before falling on her back breathless. Luna picked up the pegasus and set her on the couch, removing the saddle bag and placing it on the table. Luna handed Derpy a glass of water and let her catch her breath. Derpy grabbed the glass and chugged it quickly. Luna sat back on the couch and continued to talk "So what should we play first? Mare of Duty? Equestria's Creed 3?" Derpy sat back and wiped the sweat off of her forehead "How about some-" Derpy pulled a game out of her saddle bag with a slight smirk "-Ponylands 2?"
Luna's jaw dropped and stared in awe at the game. "B-But, it doesn't come out until Saturday..." Derpy handed her the game and talked with slight arrogance "I special ordered it!" Luna smiled at the thought of Derpy planning ahead, she wasn't the kind of mare to be so well-prepared. But Luna grabbed the game without hesitating and stared at the tin case in awe "This isn't even the normal case! This is the premium edition!" Luna stared with shock and awe at Derpy "This is AMAZING!" Luna gave Derpy a friendly hug and proceeded to ask her "Shall we?"
"We shall!" Derpy replied with a god-knows-how-big smile.
