Preperations

Siege awoke to the sight of Pinkie Pie as she tried to wake him up.

"Helloooooooo, Wake up sleepy head. We need to get started setting up the party!!" She yelled.

"I'm up, I'm up! Siege said in return. "What all needs being done?"

"Well we still gotta get some snacks and we have to set up the decorations!"

Siege, now fully awake, got up and followed Pinkie as she bounced away. It was still early in the morning and the sun had only just started to rise. The first thing they did was make there way back into the city. Siege was getting far less fearful looks as he walked around. The ponies were getting used to seeing him or at least that's what he thought. Pinkie Pie rushed into store after store with bags full of food and ingredients. Siege chose not to go into any stores, he didn't want to scare the owners and he had a hard time sometimes getting in and out of the doors. He may have only been a bit taller than the princesses but his body was wider than there so that made no easy way for him to get through the doors made for ponies. He did find it odd how they had circular door handles but no fingers in which to open the doors. The ponies would just push the doors open.

"That should be it!" Pinkie called out to him as she left the final store. "Now we just have to bake some stuff and we will be ready to Party!!"

Siege smiled and they started walking back to the castle.

Meanwhile in the castle Luna had just woken up and was eating. Celestia walked in. "Say what happened last night? I heard shouting up in the mountain."

"Oh me and Siege had a little talk and lets just say I said something I shouldn't have." Luna said.

"What did you say.....? Celestia asked trying to probe for more information.

"I'm not going to give exact information for right now. For now just keep in mind that Siege has a very heavy heart right now and that we need to be careful what we say. Try not to dig too deep into his past."

Celestia was going to do quite the opposite, she was planning on using a more magical method of gathering this time. "I just need a little more information of his background, that is all." She said to Luna as she walked out of the room again.She would make it quick.

As Siege and Pinkie walked through the door, they nearly bumped into Celestia.

"Good timing, Siege may I speak with you for a moment?" She asked. Siege looked at Pinkie Pie.

"You can go talk with the princess,  still need time to make this cupcakes and stuff!!" Pinkie said as she took the bags from Siege.

"Well I guess you can princess."  Siege was suspicious of something. Princess Celestia seem to be acting different from all the times he had talked with her before. They walked to the same room they had talked in before.

"I'm going to be doing a little bit of searching around in your mind." Celestia said.

"Okay, but I warn you. You're not gonna like what you find." Siege replied.

Celestia's horn started glowing a whitish color as she set it on Sieges head. What she saw horrified her. Everywhere there was destruction and death. All but two where dead. One being Siege and the other a women he was holding up by the neck. She watched as Siege drove his blade through the women's chest and then through her to the side. She jumped memories trying to find one that didn't now resemble that first one. The only ones she found where that of a man beating Siege yelling "You have failed, We do not accept failure!!" She didn't find a single good or happy memory. Just death and pain. It was only  when she looked at the most recent memories did that find any good. Siege's memories with the little ponies were the only good ones she could find. Suddenly she heard a voice.

"I told you that you would not like what you found." It was Siege and we was fully aware of what Celestia had seen. Suddenly all the images and memories vanished as she was forced out of Siege's mind. She looked up and saw Siege's hand glowing and holding her horn. "You've seen enough for now." He said letting go of her horn. This surprised her. She knew that Siege could control magic, but to counter out even her spells meant he was either very powerful or understood magic like no one else. In all her time alive Celestia had only seen ponies countering magic after study for what could be lifetimes in which only the lucky learn how to do so.

"How did you learn to us magic in such a manner?" Celestia asked.

"Wow you ponies to like hearing the same thing over and over don't you...." Siege said. He explained how he learn to control the energy known as magic again but this time put in all the little details. "Now could you tell the others that before I have to? I'm getting a little tired of telling you ponies." Siege said with an irritated voice. He walked away and left Celestia to process everything.

Twilight and the other ponies had just woken up and were busy eating. Siege walked in and said his hellos.

"Good morning, little ponies. He said with a smile.

"Good morning." twilight responded. Siege could see she was dead tired. She had went back into the library in the middle of the night to do some more research. Siege grabbed an apple and took a big bite out of it.

"Now thats a good apple." Siege said as he took another bite. "Say do you know where the kitchen is? Pinkie was cooking something up in there and I'm sure she would like a taste tester." He joked.

"I know where it is." Twilight replied. She should him where it was. When he walked in it was a complete mess and there was a think cloud of flour.

"Pinkie, you in here?!" He yelled slightly. Out of the cloud came Pinkie Pie. She was white as a ghost from all the flour.

"Hi Siege, all the treats are almost ready. You wanna try some?!" Pinkie yelled, she was as hyperactive as ever. Pinkie went back into the cloud of flour and returned with a tray full of cupcakes and muffins. Siege grabbed one of each and found a place to sit. He sat there and watched the cloud of flour disappear as Pinkie finished.

"We can move all this stuff in when we are done setting up the decorations!" Pinkie said as she bolted out the door. Siege got up and finished up his muffin before following.

The decorations they chose where mostly blue with small pieces of green here and there. It was nothing too special and the two were able to get everything up in no time. As Pinkie and Siege set up the last remaining pieces Fluttershy walked in. It looked far different from what she had accepted. All colors combined formed a calming and more peace atmosphere instead of Pinkies normal parties which exactly made you you more active and hyper.

"This looks very nice." Fluttershy said. She was happy about the feel and looked forward to this party more than most others that he had been too. "Pinkie, I'm surprised you could throw such a party."

"Don't thank me, this was all Siege's idea."  She pointed to Siege who smiled slightly.

"By the way little Fluttershy, there is something I must speak with you about soon." Siege said.

"Uum.... Ok. Why do you call me little Fluttershy... You call the rest by there normal names... why not me?" Fluttershy asked quietly.

"That is in part what i wanted to talk to you about, but we can talk after the party. This is a matter of importance and I would rather speak to you in private about it." Siege replied. Fluttershy simply nodded in return and found a place to sit down.

"Pinkie, could you go get the food? I will go find the others." Siege said.

"Oki doki loki." Pinkie said as she bounced out of the room.

"That pony never seems to leave a room the same way twice..." Siege said. "Fluttershy, if any of your friends walk by could you tell that to stay here? The little party will be starting soon.

Fluttershy nodded as Siege walked out of the room. She started wondering what Siege was going to tell her later. Her thoughts quickly swapped to home. She thought about angel and the rest of the animals that were in her care. She worried that something had gone wrong whilst she was gone. The princess had already written a letter for someone to take care of them in her absence but that didn't stop her form worrying.

Meanwhile Twilight was in the city. She had gone to say hello to some old friends and was walking towards the castle when something caught her eye. She turned her head to a wall and saw something rush behind it. She decided to go check it out. What she saw surprised her almost as much as when she first saw Siege. There lay Heartstrings, who had face planted the ground after falling over her own hoof when she tried to hide behind the wall.

"Heartstrings, What are you doing here?!?" Twilight asked. She was extremely confused. Heartstrings was a friend of her in school and had moved to Ponyville a few months before Twilight. She was always interested in strange animals and mythic beasts and a lot of ponies thought she was a tad bit of the crazy side.

"Well, I guess you could say i was following you... hehe..." She gave Twilight a look as if she had just been caught doing something very stupid. "Also, didn't I tell you to call me Lyra?"

"That's not the point, why are you following me?"

"Weeeeellll, I caught word of a strange new creature following you and your friends around here in Canterlot. I kinda wanted to see it."

"Couldn't you just ask instead of secretly follow me?"

"Oh come on Twilight, whats the fun in that?"

Twilight was just about to say something when she heard someone calling her name. She listened closer and she could hear it was Siege calling out. She looked around but couldn't see him anywhere. By chance she looked up to see Siege waving from one of the buildings.

"I told you not to do that!" She yelled back to Siege.

"Sorry, but its easier to find you like this!"

"You're twice as tall as us, why would you need to climb a building?!" Twilight unintentionally ended that conversation. She looked back at Lyra who was smiling and bouncing with joy in the Pinkie Pie fashion. This was her big chance to meet a strange new creature and not only that, this one was intelligent, though she did wonder why Twilight could understand it when she had only heard that the creature had been around for a day or two.

As Siege got down from the building, making sure this time not to jump, he saw the strange little unicorn bouncing around as she looked at him with great excitement. He walked up to Twilight who had put some distance between herself and Lyra.

"I feel like I just missed something important..." Siege said with a confused look on his face. It seemed he would not get a day without a special event occurring.

"Don't worry, you didn't." Twilight said. Lyra gave to two a confused look. Twilight returned the look but Siege understood quite well what the problem was.

"Twilight, you seemed to have forgotten why we can talk to and understand each other...." Siege said. Now Twilight was giving him a confused look. Siege's hand started glowing and he set it on Lyra's head.

"Problem solved." Siege said with a smile as he looked at the new little pony in front of him. "Say what is your name?"

Lyra sat there for a moment trying to understand what just happened before realizing she had been asked anything.

"Oh, Well my name is Heartstrings but i prefer to be called Lyra." Lyra responded.

"Lyra, I like that name. My name is Siege and you have something on your face." Siege said whilst wiping the dirt off of Lyra's  head and face.

Lyra Blushed a little and laughed slightly before realizing something. "Wait why can I suddenly understand you?"

"Magic." Siege replied. He wasn't lying but he did want to see the reaction of a pony after he said it like that.

Lyra just accepted it and swapped from confused and scientific mode to pure excited and hyper mode.

"Oh boy, I have so much to ask you. I can't wait to tell Bon Bon about this. I wonder what it eats and thinks about........" Lyra said. She was talking as fast as Rainbow Dash could fly and neither Siege nor Twilight could understand what she was saying.

"Oh by the way, Siege what did you need me for?" Twilight asked.

"The party of course, Its starting soon and it just wouldn't be the same if we didn't start with everyone.... I mean everypony there." Siege said. This was not the first time he had made such mistakes and it probably wouldn't be the last.

"Well then lets get going!" Twilight said quickly trying to get away from Lyra and her endless talk. unfortunate for her, that would not be the case. She would have Siege to blame.

"Wait on second." Siege said. He started trying to get Lyra's attention. Once he had succeeded he asked a simple question.

"Lyra, would you like to come to our little party?"

He watched the little pony get the biggest smile he had ever seen. It even seemed like her eyes were shining from excitement. "YES!!! I WOULD LOVE TO COME!!!!" Lyra yelled at the top of her lungs. All the ponies in the area heard that and came to see what the commotion was about. Lyra blushed again and walked up to Siege.

"Are you sure you should have asked this? We can't just let anypony come to the castle." Twilight said distastefully.

"Don't worry twilight, one of your princesses still owes me for something that happened today. She can consider this a repayment." Siege replied. Twilight was about to say something but then chose not too. The three of them walked back to the castle. Lyra kept an endless flow of questions coming at Siege and he answered everyone of them. The questions varied from what to he ate to what his favorite color was. (And if you might be wondering what color that might be, its crimson.)

Lyra never lost any of her excitement during the questions even after they had entered the castle. It was at that moment Siege forgot to look for Rarity and Applejack, but as luck would have it, they were already waiting for him and Twilight. They were surprised to see Lyra with Twilight and Siege.

"What are you doing in Canterlot?" Rarity asked.

"I heard there was a strange creature in here and decided to see it for myself." Lyra replied. "And now that creature has invited me to a party." She continued happily.

5 of them walked into the bedroom which had now turned into a party room. All the beds had been placed as in to face a point of a wall making something that looked somewhat like a stage. Siege had a little surprise for the ponies in store. Siege took a second to look at everypony in the room. Twilight had sat herself next to Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie was eating most of the food she had prepared but had set some aside for the rest of them. Applejack quickly joined Pinkie and started eating as well. Rarity was putting something in a box and quickly wrapped in like a present. Rainbow Dash was running in circles, probably out of boredom and decided to sit right in front of him watching his every move like a dog waiting for a treat.

"I have a surprise for you ponies, but you will have to wait until it gets dark so see it." Siege said. The party started calmly as idle chat filled the room. Next the ponies started playing some games an had contests with each other. They started with a cupcake eating contest between Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Siege. At first there was no clear winner but soon it became clear that it would be a battle between Pinkie and Siege. Siege had the advantage of having a larger body meaning he could eat a lot more than the normal pony or human for that matter. Pinkie had the advantage of being hyper and being used to eating so much sugar. In the end Pinkie Pie won, Siege had started feeling sick from all the sugar and surrendered. Pinkie Pie was left the undefeated victor of cupcake eating.

Next they played hoofwrestling. (Arm wrestling but pony style.) This was a battle between Applejack, Rainbow and surprisingly Lyra, who did much better than the ponies expected. She did end up losing but not with out a fight. Applejack ended up beating Rainbow who argued that she would have won had she not had to wrestle Lyra first. Lyra ended up taking this as a complement. At first Siege did not want to do with but Applejack insisted that she wrestle him. He ended up beating her but kept saying it was because of his suit and let her have the victory.

The next game was a odd one. Then somehow they decided to play the silent game. Everypony played with. The idea was to sit as still as possible not making a noise unless it was breathing or scratching. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash quickly lost. Pinkie was suffering from a sugar rush and Rainbow Dash was just to bored to keep playing. Next Applejack and Lyra were out follow by Rarity and Twilight. It was a battle between the naturally quiet Fluttershy and the ever so patient Siege.

After almost an hour the group decided that it was a tie just because it looked like the two could go on forever.

After some more chit chat a new surprise popped up in the form of the two princesses joining them.

"I didn't know you liked a good party." Siege said jokingly as the two walked in. Luna laughed a bit and sat down. Celestia, also found a place to sit down and noticed Lyra.

"I don't remember her being here." Celestia said.

"I invited her to the party, the more the merrier right?" Siege replied.

"I guess your right, but could you tell me next time?"

"I wonder if there will be a next time, I only let her come because you owed me."

Twilight had a shocked look on her face. She was surprised and worried about how open and friendly Siege was with the princess.

"I owed you, why would I owe you anything?" Celestia continued.

"You poked around in some places that I held deep and hidden. Not something that should just be done without permission or true idea of who you are dealing with."

"I guess you're right...." Celestia ended. There was a brief moment of silence before Luna got up. It was time for her to raise the moon.

"Its almost time for the surprise." Siege said with a smile. Luna started to raise the moon as Siege got up and collected some streamers and confetti. At the same time he made sure to listen to Luna's song as it play out. He would not use it himself but it might be handy to know, just in case.

As the sun had finally set Siege blew out all the candles. He wanted to make sure the ponies focus would be on him.

"Well here is my surprise to you." Siege said. "You know that I have been in war, but not all my life has been about fighting my enemies. I'm going to tell you about a time in which i was sent to rescue someone from a planet many could only dream of going to." Sieges hands starting glowing together with the streams and confetti. He would use them to play out his story.

"This place I had to go made the most powerful warriors shake, For it had one of evolution's most dangerous animals to date. They lived for millions of years and predate even our Ceph enemies. We called them *Dinosaurs*." Siege began to explain how a program had been started to bring the animals back, but then backfired as stations were wiped out due to the scientists working on those stations underestimating the intelligence of the animals they where holding. The story was a bit dark, but the ponies interest in the story only grew as Siege explained further. Even Fluttershy who would normally be scared, was listening carefully.

Siege talked about how a small civilian craft had crash landed on the planet and why Siege was sent on a rescue mission to begin with. One of the people inside was a large a big supporter of Crytek and his family was with him. Siege was sent when he was 14 with a squad of men. The squad was mostly contained with rookies and one person that had a large knowledgeable about the species on the planet. He was a fanatic and wouldn't stop saying that the needed more people and better trained people at that. "If only our commanders had listened...."

He talked about how they had already almost been wiped out after only a day, because to of the rookies decided it would be fun to cook some meat, attracting a pack of what he called "Raptors". This was a time before he had his suit and he had to fight off what was apparently there pack leader, with only a knife and his hands, because after killed the animal and almost getting killed himself the rest of the pack left.

Siege continued on how they finally found the supporters family but how he had been killed by and strange group of creatures not even the fanatic knew about. A large group of the civilians had been killed in multiple attacks but somehow the mans son and daughter managed to survive it all.

Siege continued on how he found out that the raptors had been following them the entire time but not once attacked. He explained how the fanatic told him about the method of the raptors survival and when they saw intelligence and strength in an animal after there leader had died, that they would follow and try to prove themselves to the creature in one way or another and seeing as in how Siege killed there first leader. They would probably follow him until they had left the forsaken planet.

Next he talked about how they met up with a surviving group of scientists and hunters who had gotten trapped on the planet and how the group had been attacked for the second time by the raptors. This ended up being a good thing because the second group was in the middle of trying to kill Siege and his group when this happened. From that point on the raptors traveled with the group.

The fanatic went crazy excited from this being that now he could study the group of raptors up close and safely. They learned just how start the raptors really were, The had there own language, ranking and a diverse social life between each other. Some even swore they heard a raptor try and sing along with one of the songs they had played. As they finally reached the ship, then raptors did something which only caused more awe in the group. They gave the Siege an egg and left as if knowing that the humans were leaving. The fanatic decided to put a tracking collar on one of the raptors and went back to the planet many times after that.

Siege ended his story talking about the hatching of the egg and where the little raptor was now. The little raptor only proved further how smart the raptors were and has become the star of the the research facility which had later proved that raptors are naturally smarter then most other intelligent life.

The ponies sat there staring at all the little figures as Siege ended his story. The loved the story, though it scared them a bit that it was a true story. Lyra loved it the most, she already loved stories and myths about new and strange creatures so to her a story about some by which itself was a new creature, only made her going into a hyper mode that even made Pinkie look calm.

After a large period of question answering from all the ponies, they finally ended the party.  The story had taken up a large portion of the night and all the ponies where tired. Pinkie was the most tired of all. Her sugar rush ended with a crash as she fell asleep on the spot.

As the ponies prepared to go to bed after moving everything to back into its rightful place, Siege told Fluttershy to follow him. The walked to Celestia's garden.

"Fluttershy, I sill keep this simple.... You are my Successor." Siege said.

".......What is a Successor?" Fluttershy asked confused.

"If I die or can no longer fight to protect you and your system. You will be the one to take my place."

"What......... why would you chose me? I couldn't hurt a fly and your asking me to do what you do..... Why not chose someone like Rainbow Dash? She watched you kill and still thought you were cool and she loves fighting or challenges..."

"Because she doesn't have the heart to do what needs to be done. I know of what you have done. You have stood up to problems that would terrify you without fear or regret. You have protected your friends when all hope was lost. That is why I chose you. Because you show that you can be the kindest thing in the universe but still have the fire to face down a dragon. That is what a Guardian must do. Protect, not fighting for your own pleasure or goals but to keep those around you safe."

Siege smiled at Fluttershy when he said this. He was proud of her for being this way and respected it above all else.

"You already know some of the downsides of this duty and it will change you in many ways, some physically and some mentally but trust me, your heart will never change and this is what will drive you into the greatness that I will not be able to achieve."

Siege sat down near the tree he had slept under the night before and looked up at the stars. Fluttershy walked up to him and sat right up next to him. His words made her feel much better but the idea that she might have to take a life scared her. She thought about everything Siege had just said and wondered what he meant about physical change and decided it would be better if she just asked.

"What do you mean by, changing physically?"

"Well, there is a nanosuit prepare for you but they only work for humans. At the point were you and only you choose to become the new Guardian, A chamber will open. Once you walk in it, it will genetically change you, and after a few days, you will be human. Some see this as a blessing others as a curse, but when it comes down to it, it will always be your choice." Siege replied.

This actually made Fluttershy a bit happy. She liked how Siege looked and wonder what she would look like as a human.

The two sat there for awhile and Fluttershy had ended up falling asleep. Siege took Fluttershy inside and set her in her bed. He heard a whisper calling his name.

"Siege..... Siege..... come here." It was Rarity. Siege walked over to Rarity and quietly asked what the problem was.

"I forgot to give you this at the party, I made it with some help from Luna and Rainbow." Rarity handed Siege a small box. He opened it at found fingerless glove and a necklace. The necklace had a red gemstone connected to it via a little gold casing. The glove had a same looking red gem in the center of it. Surrounding the gem was a symbol. It was a like a compass with a strange arrow facing in each direction surrounded by a circle.

"It should help you with your control of magic and if i do say so myself, It matches your look.  Rarity whispered with a smile. "Now go before someone wakes up." She said.

Siege quickly left the room and tried on the glove and necklace. The necklace fit perfectly but since he was already wearing a glove he had a hard time fitting the second one of. He put it on his left hand and put on his visor. He started going through the data files of his suit and found the appearance files though he didn't know how the program worked he did know that there was a file used to fuse or swap clothing. That way he would have no problem wearing the glove and even if it got damaged it would simply be repaired. These to items were some of the few gift Siege had ever gotten and he made sure they where protected. After finally finding the program and activating it he watched as his suit began scanning the items. He watched as his old glove started disappearing and the new one fusing to him.

It didn't take long for the necklace and glove to became part of the suit. He looked at the glove under some light and there at the rim of the glove said the words. *Crimson Bolt.* "Hmm, Crimson Bolt. That sounds rather nice." He thought to himself.

When he got back to the garden he got the call he was fearing from the day he was awakened. It was a job call.

"Siege I see that you have awakened." Said the person on the other side of the line. We have a double job for you. nothing you shouldn't be able to handle though one of them might get on your nerves if your that kind of person."

"Oh boy, what might these jobs be? Siege asked.

"Well the first one is simple. There are some people calling themselves hunters who are against our little protection project. We are routing them to your system. Here's the catch and the second job. We don't want you removing them unless necessary.

"Why is that?"

"We have been getting problems with one of our recruits. She is a young talented fighter and will be getting her suit soon. The only issue is it has gotten to her head and she needs to be taught some discipline. Her parents entered her into the program sometime ago and are some heavy supporters of the program. They wanted her to be trained by the best possible and your awakening has proven useful in timing. She will be there in about 15 hours. The Hunter group will be arriving in about a week. We won't her to be the one to wipe out the group under your watchful eye.

Her name is *Vella*, I wish you good luck in you jobs and we will be sending a little gift to you as a congratulation for your awakening. I will be calling back in a week. Over and out."

Siege signed and went to go sit down under the tree. "This sounds like its gonna be a handful..." He set a timer for when the new recruit would be arriving and fell asleep.

[Well looks like I'm just messing with the story big time with my stories in stories adding, Lyra and all. I can already here an angry group of people form I post this chapter but what can I say, I have always been a random person and its starting to show in my righting. I had some major writers block and ended up watching ton of videos  and stuff like that. I wonder if anyone reads this bottom thing but that doesn't stop me from writing on it. Sorry if I killed a part of you on the inside with my little dinosaur story though I would like to make a chapter about that if you readers wanted me to. Please excuse the fact that this chapter had a lack of... well sense but i needed a moment of laughter for myself whilst writing... Oh well, I don't have much else to say other than thanks for reading and I hope you like the next chapter. The action and seriousness this story was built on will start rolling in again and I have much more in store.]
