Chapter 4

The next morning, Sonic woke up early to do some last hour laps in the park before the big race. Twilight woke up with a startle then ended up face-planted on the floor when a loud BOOM rattled the whole town! It was seconds later when the whole town awoke and all of Fluttershy’s animals panicked and scurried for safety!

Then minutes later, another loud BOOM erupted. But this time a rainbow appeared 1 second later! It’s pretty easy to guess who the source of the 2 BOOMs is.

A few minutes later, Sonic returned to Twilight’s house for a quick break. He took one look inside and instantly broke out in laughter! Books were scattered EVERYWHERE, Tails was in a position where it looked like he had been thrown across the room, upstairs Twilight was in the same way and her hair was a mess! “Hahahahaha! WOW! Did I do THIS!? WOW! Man I’m FAST!” Sonic laughed but stopped when Tails and Twilight aimed stern looks at him. “Heheh. Sorry.”

Later Everypony was gathered at the park to watch Sonic and Rainbow Dash race. Meanwhile at the entrance of Everfree Forest, Sonic and Rainbow were at the starting line, ready for the flag. “You ready to lose?” Rainbow taunted. “I think it’s the other way around! See you at the finish line. But don’t take too long. I’m not the best at waiting!” Sonic said. Then the announcer, Spike, who just got back from royal duty, raised the flag to begin.

“READY.....

GET SET......

GO!!!!”

the flag waved and Sonic and Rainbow Blasted off!! Sonic was ahead but Rainbow caught up fast. Sonic wasn’t about to give up yet! He ran hard. Super hard. So hard he broke through the sound barrier and was approaching the speed of light!! Surprised, Rainbow Dash slowed down a little, causing Sonic to take the lead! But Rainbow wasn’t finished! She too, broke the barrier. A Sonic-Rainboom followed and now they were tying and the finish line was just a few miles ahead! But since there speed is fast it seems like meters! “AND THE WINNER IS.......” Spike announced but he never finished! Sonic and Rainbow Dash broke hard. When they came to a stop, Sonic looked up and could not believe what he was seeing. There was Eggman in his mobile!!! “Eggman?!” Sonic exclaimed. “HOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!! Why Sonic! What a surprise! Well not really! I knew you’d somehow end up here! And i see you’ve made some new friends! Well you’re not the only one!”

Out of nowhere, Nightmare Moon and Discord joined Eggman’s side!

Twilight noticed. “Huh?! N.N.N....Nightmare Moon?! Discord?!?!” “What do you want? Who are these guys?” Sonic asked. “Well if you must know, after my last defeat, I detected a powerful energy known as these!” In his hand were the 6 elements of harmony!!! Now, Everypony was listening. Especially Twilight and her friends. “The Elements of Harmony!!!!” They said in unison. “The what?” Sonic asked. “The elements of harmony! These are special gems that have an amazing power! It’s so powerful that if combined with these Chaos Emeralds, It can Control, Destroy, or Create ANYTHING!! So I figured that i can build my empire HERE in Equestria! HOHOHOHOHO!!!!” “Eggman, C’mon. You should know me by now! Just give up now and I won’t have to embarrass you in front of Everypony and you won’t have to waste MY time giving you a bunch of broken bones and robots” Sonic mocked

“Look I’m way too busy to give up so let me show you how much I want this plan to work for once.” Eggman said as he pushed a button on his control panel. From the sky, came down something that Sonic remembered from his previous adventures back in Angel Island on Mobius, Big Arm!

“Allow me to introduce, BIG ARM 2! It’s like the original, but with a lot of UPGRADES!!! Sonic, get ready to meet your DOOM!!!” Eggman exclaimed as he and his egg-mobile got into the cockpit and sealed it with a strong glass as Big Arm lifted off from the ground and was ready to ‘Smash’ Sonic. “Everyone get back! This is gonna get ugly!” Sonic exclaimed. Everypony obeyed except Rainbow Dash, who wanted to help. (BOSS: BIG ARM 2) Sonic charged Eggman and tried a drifting homing attack, but he failed to hit and was sent back flying by a smack from the hands! Then Sonic did his BOOST move and it landed right in the cockpit! Everyone cheered and chanted: SONIC! SONIC! SONIC! Then Eggman was finished playing easy! Big Arm raised its huge arm and SLAM!!! The crowd gasped. Sonic had been smashed hard into the ground! He started to recover and stand up but he wasn’t fast enough! Big Arm SLAMMED both arms on top of Sonic!!! He was knocked out cold! Rainbow Dash saw everything happen and couldn’t stand to watch Sonic get crushed. She knew what she had to do and fast. She flew up high and started diving toward the ground! When she was just a couple centimeters off, she steered literally right through Big Arm! Eggman went slack-jaw! Big Arm started malfunctioning and smoking! Sonic woke up to see what happened. Knowing she saved Sonic, she never thought she would end up as the target! Big Arm started swatting and slamming the ground trying to grab Rainbow Dash! In the nervous crowd, Twilight had an idea. Her horn started glowing. Big Arm suddenly stopped swatting at Rainbow and started swatting at itself! Everypony in the crowd and Tails started laughing! Eggman then saw who was responsible. “YOU! You’re not stopping ME!!!” He switched into OVERDRIVE and Big Arm Gained full control! Then Big Arm did something no one saw coming. It charged the crowd!! Everypony in the stands panicked and fled His next target: Twilight! She tried to get away but she was to slow! “Got You!” Big Arm had her in its metallic clutches! “HELP!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!” She screamed. “I’m coming Twilight!” Spike rushed to help her, and then Big Arm reached for him. Spike was fast enough to get out of the way. “No I’m not!” Spike said as he ran for cover. Just then Sonic blasted Big Arm with a homing attack! It let go of Twilight but she was falling! Luckily Rainbow Dash caught her just in time. “You OK Twilight?” “Yeah. Thanks Rainbow. And thank you Sonic!” She said as she got back on the ground and ran for safety. Sonic winked. BOOM!!!!!!!! An explosion engulfed the Robot! Big Arm was defeated! Eggman was still in his Egg-mobile all trashed and covered in gasoline and smoke. The hiding crowd cheered wildly! Sonic, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight did it! Eggman coughed. “Curse you Sonic! You’re gonna regret this! You and your little pony friends!” He then turned his craft on “Hasta La Bye-Bye Suckers!” He said as he and his Egg-mobile Flew away. “Oh yeah!” “All Right!” “Right on!” Said the trio. “Wow Sonic! I never knew you could all that stuff! Hey, can you teach me that drift thingy?” Asked Rainbow Dash. “Sure! Meet me at the park and I’ll see you there! Also you were awesome back there! If you hadn’t attacked him, I would’ve been a pancake! I owe you one!” “Thanks! And you were awesome as well! I mean, that Boosting, the drifting, the Flipping jumps!” “Thanks!” Sonic said. Tails ran up. “Sonic! Oh man! Are you OK? I can’t believe you made it through all that!” “You know me; never a dull moment.” Sonic said. Twilight and the rest of her friends came up. “Good Job Sonic!” They all said in unison. “Wow Sonic! I was right when I thought that you weren’t just like any of us! That combat stuff of yours was off the saddle! Yeehaw!!” Applejack said. “Oh my goodness! Are you hurt Sonic?” Fluttershy asked “I’m fine. Thanks for asking Fluttershy.” Sonic informed. “Oh Sonic! That was absolutely magnificent! Incredible! Stunning! Outst.....” Rarity said but was interrupted by Sonic. “Ok! Rarity! I get it everyone! I know I’m awesome but let’s not make a big deal out of it!” He joked. Then the Cutie Mark Crusaders came up. “Wow Sonic that was so cool!” Exclaimed Sweetie Belle. “That was amazing Sonic!” said Apple Bloom. “Amazing? It was more than amazing! It was Off the Hook!!” exclaimed Scootaloo. “Aw! Thanks guys!” Sonic said to them. “But now, we’ve got a real problem! Eggman has his eyes and nose-hair set on this place!” Tails explained. “True! That Eggman guy has the Elements of Harmony! And if he’s not stopped soon, he’s gonna take over all of Equestria!” Twilight said nervously. “Right! We know his plan now so that gives us a hint on how to stop him! Right?” Sonic asked. Everyone nodded. “But we don’t know where he is now! We can’t just go and look for him!” Pinkie Pie said. “Actually we CAN!” Tails blurted. He had done something that no one knew about! “You see, I still have my hand-held with me. So I programed it to act as a G.P.S.T.D.” He explained but everyone had a puzzled look on their face. “A GPS tracking device.” Sonic understood now but the ponies of Equestria weren’t that advanced in technology. “GPS is a little thing we say that means: personal navigator system.” The ponies understood a little bit, and that was good enough for them! “Anyway, I put a tracking chip on Eggman’s Mobile when he wasn’t looking and it’s linked to my GPS so that means we know where Eggman is now!” Tails explained. Now the ponies REALLY understood! “And now that we know where he is, we can find him, get him, stop him, and this world is saved!” Sonic said. “So Tails, where is he now?” asked Twilight. Tails checked his hand-held and was stunned to find Eggman moving towards the clouds! “It says Eggman’s going to some location called “Cloudsdale”.” Tails said. Then Rainbow went to full panic. “CLOUDSDALE?! He can’t rule Cloudsdale! That’s my birthplace! My home!” Rainbow exclaimed. "No matter what the reason or place, Eggman will never get away on MY watch!” Sonic said. But one problem with Cloudsdale: only winged ones can stand on clouds! “OK Tails You know the drill!” Sonic said as he lifted both arms up and Tails was about to air-lift him up when Rainbow Dash stopped them. “WAIT!! Only winged ponies can stand on clouds! You’ll drop like a rock!” Rainbow Dash explained. “Oh that makes sense!” Sonic said sarcastically. He’s been on clouds before but only in Mobius. “Twilight had a solution. “Actually I do know a spell that allows anyone to walk on clouds.” “Really? Then fire away!” Sonic exclaimed. Twilight’s horn began to glow and so did everyone else! They were lifted up in the air for a few seconds then were on the ground again. “Did it work?” asked Tails “Only one way to find out, and that way is up!” Sonic exclaimed as Tails lifted him up and flew towards Cloudsdale. “Let’s go! To the balloon!” Twilight said as she and the wingless ponies rushed to the hot air balloon while Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy followed Sonic and Tails.
