The Dark Side of Life

Chapter One - Reason to live?
If you would have asked me a few weeks ago that could I imagine myself in this position, I would have answered “Never”. But now, this seems like the only possible situation to be in. My name is... actually it doesn’t matter, it has never mattered. No one has ever asked my name. They have just called me... Now thinking, they haven’t even bothered to give me a name, so let’s just say that I’m nothing. I have always been nothing, I don’t have friends, no real family or anyone who cares. My real family left me a long time ago, without a goodbye. No one wants to be my friend because everyone says that I am weird. And actually they are right... I am weird. I like a lot of things that others don’t. I like writing poems and stories. And I love My Little Pony. My Little Pony is the only thing in my life at the moment, that matters to me. I don’t care anymore if someone throws my books in the thrash or punches me. Only thing I care is that I can go to sit in front of my computer and watch ponies.
Those multi colored ponies are the only thing that makes me happy. I like to imagine that I am there, having adventures with them and having fun, but when I open my eyes, I realize that my life is shit. I have no happiness in my real life. I just go to school, like almost every fifteen year old person. I try to survive the school day that I can get home and sit in front of my computer. That is how exciting my life is. That is my normal day, apart from when I have to go buy some food for myself and the times, when I get beaten after school. That last one is more common to happen than the first one.
About a week ago, I thought that my life would finally get better, when I met a girl. The girls name was Maria. She was the most kindest and understanding person in the world, but this all changed one night, when she invited me in a party. That is a good thing... Right? The answer is no. When we arrived at the party, the first thing I found, was a bottle hitting me on the wrist. That wasn’t the worst thing. Maria... was laughing. The guy hit me another time on the wrist. This time my wrist broke. I screamed because the pain was too much for me to handle. I ran out, towards my home. It was a peaceful night and my crying echoed in the darkness of it. My wrist bled badly.
When I got inside my “parents” house. They came to me and asked about what happened. I told them that I had slipped over and broken my wrist. They immediately got me to hospital, where the doctors packed my wrist. When we got back home, I went immediately to my room and cried hard. I went to lie down on my bed. I cried through the night. I cried because at that moment, I didn’t feel like my life had any kind of value. Next day at school, everyone noticed my hand. They all started pointing at me and looking at the guy, who had hit me with the bottle. I tried to ignore them, but they kept following me and pointing me. That is when I had had enough. I turned around and yelled at them ‘If you have something to say, just say it!’ They just laughed more. I walked out of the school and went to sit in my room. My “parents” didn’t even ask me that why did I come back so early. Before I even noticed, I was sitting on the bed with a knife in my hand. I looked at the knife and then at my wrist. ‘I am not going out that way’ I thought and threw the knife back under my pillow.
And now, couple days after that incident, I find myself laying on a hospital bed, after jumping down from a two story building. I don’t know, how long I’ve been blacked out. I have been awake about an hour, but I don’t want to yell anyone to come here. I just want to clear my thoughts. So here is what I have figured out so far. I am in a hospital somewhere after trying to commit suicide. I have Pinkie plushie on the side desk, which probably my sister had brought to me. I tried to grab her but the desk is just far away for me to grab her. That is all I know. I don’t know what the day is or what time is it. I can see that my parents haven’t visited me, but that is no surprise. I can hear footsteps, someone is coming in.
The door knob turns and a doctor walks in. He's tall, he has long hair and reading glasses. He has some papers in his hands. He sat down on a chair and looked at Pinkie. I looked at him angrily when he started lowering Pinkie on the floor. He saw my face and instead of putting Pinkie on the floor, he handed it to me. He cleared his voice and asked.
“So, do you know what is your name?” He asked and looked quickly at the stack of papers.
“I didn’t lose my memory, okay? Where am I?” I asked as I hugged Pinkie.
“Okay. You are at the nearest hospital from your school.” I simply nodded for an answer. He started asking another question, but I asked first.
“When do I get out of here?” I asked and sat up. My whole body was wrapped in white bandages and my arm was packed. How didn’t I notice those before?
“You’ll get out as soon as someone from your family comes to say that they can take care of you.” He said and my heart stopped. No one will ever come to get me out of here.
“But... but...” I started stuttering.
“I’m sorry, if there is no one who wants to take care of you, you have to stay here.” He said and left the room. I hugged Pinkie harder. What should I do know? I want to go! I want to go somewhere far away. Somewhere, where I could stay in peace. I would probably go to my secret hiding place, that is under the big bridge that I cross everyday when I walk to school.
The night came slowly, but I didn’t get bored. I had gotten immune to being bored. I don’t have much to do at home when I’m not watching MLP, so I’ve learned to create things in my mind. It’s like Minecraft in your head. Anyway, the night arrived and I decided to try to escape. I first slowly started to sit and then I tried to get up. I had to lean against the side desk to get up. I started to feel dizzy. I walked up to the window and opened it. Fresh air flowed in. It seemed like I was on the first floor. I grabbed my clothes and climbed out of the window. I tried to run, but the pain on my chest made me fall over. I started crawling towards the small forest that was nearby. I got in the forest and crawled to lean on a tree, that wasn’t in immediate sight from the road. I started looking at my chest because it hurt like hell and saw that it was bleeding. My view started blurring and I tried to rub my eyes, but it didn’t help. I looked around me, like I would try to find something to help me. I saw that there was a full moon on the sky. I started to hum a tune quietly. My eyes started to close. I felt my life slipping away. But just when I was about to close my eyes, I saw something glowing on my left side. I turned my head and saw the glow end. I started desperately crawling towards the spot, where the light had come from. When I got closer to the spot, I started seeing something golden in the grass. I reached my hand to grab the object. I grabbed it and it was cold. I brought it closer. It was some sort of necklace. It started glowing again. Its light blinded me and suddenly I felt something on my head and then, I blacked out.
‘Oww... My head. What the hell happened?’ I thought as I opened my eyes, my vision blurred a little. I was in a hospital again. It looked a lot brighter than last time. I looked at my left and saw, that there was no Pinkie on the desk. I tried to rub my eyes to make the blur go away, but it didn’t. I tried to sit up, but my ribs hurt so bad, that I decided to stay down. ‘What will the doctor think about me now?’ I asked from myself, when I heard footsteps closing in. I thought that the doctor must be a woman because it sounded like she would have high heels. I saw someone opening the door. The person was small and had a mans voice. I rubbed my eyes once again and then my vision cleared... I couldn’t believe what I saw. I rubbed my eyes again. No, this was all real. I was in Equestria. I thought that this was a dream come true. But then the pony in the room said:
“Okay. First, let’s take some samples.” The pony in front of me said and I saw more ponies coming inside.
“No!” I yelled and started sitting up, but then I felt a terrible pain on my ribs and I fell back to lay down. I looked back at the pony and it seemed that he was confused. “Please.” I added in hope that it would help the situation and I think that it actually did.The ponies took a step backwards and I took it as a tip to sit up a little. I raised to sit as much as I could and then leaned on the wall behind me. Now, when I took a closer look of the ponies, I saw that they looked more scared than confused. I didn’t know what to say so I decided to just simply inform them.
“Umm... I am not here to hurt you or anything. I don’t even know that how I got here” That did it, the pony, who seemed to be in the lead, let out a sigh and walked up to me. He handed his hoof and said:
“Greetings. My name is Doctor Stable. I am so sorry that we woke you up that way, but we really thought you were dead! You didn’t breath or anything.” He answered and I shook his hoof. Then I let my breathing get back to its normal rhythm.
“Okay. I believe you. Are you really like... ponies?” I had to ask this because I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Doctor raised one of his eyebrows.
“Well, yes. But what are you?” Doctor said as he got closer to investigate me. I put my hand on his way and tried to make him give me some personal space, but he just started investigating my hand.
“I am a human. Have you ever heard about humans?” This made him take a step backwards. I just kept looking him in the eyes.
“You can’t... It is not possible.” He mumbled, but after a moment yelled to one of his assistants to get the elements of harmony immediately. I felt a pain on my chest when I moved slightly and I fell off the bed, to the ground and started screaming. The doctor and his assistants rose me on the bed with their magic. Then the doctor brought a box with some pain pills and gave them to me. I swallowed the pills and then started to feel dizzy. I looked at the doctor, who had a worried expression his face.
“What did you give to me?” I asked and tried to grab the box, but it was too far away.
“I gave you normal pain pills, but I don’t know, how your body will respond.” He said as he turned around. “But I guess we’ll see...” He walked outside. “human.” I heard him mumble, when he closed the room door.
I could feel my heart beating faster and faster. My vision started blurring really badly and my eyes started to feel dry. Then I started coughing badly and my head started to hurt. Suddenly I lost control of my limbs. The darkness grew around me and carried me away.
I woke up in a dark room. First I thought that I was still in the hospital, but then I noticed that the walls were made of wood. I scanned the room with my eyes and tried to figure out what was the place I was in. I didn’t find any clues to tell me where I was, but then I noticed that there was a blue box on the ground and it had a blanket inside. I was in Twilights house.
I slowly got up and it seemed that the pain pills had helped because this time I didn’t feel almost any pain at all. I stood up slowly and tried to not make any sound. I started slowly walking towards the door, which I expected to be the way out, mainly because it was the only door in the room. I grabbed the door handle and started turning it, but stopped when I heard voices from other side of the door. I pressed my ear against the door and tried to figure out what they were talking about. I couldn’t hear much, just something about going to sleep. I heard a door close, what probably meant that they went to sleep. I turned the handle quietly and opened the door, just that I could see if there was someone, or in this case somepony, in the hallway. When I saw that there was no pony in the hallway, I opened the door and stepped out. The hallway was dark and short. I started sneaking towards the stairway. I moved so slowly that my legs started to shake. I stopped, when I reached the top of the stairs. I looked down to the first floor to make sure, no pony was there. I couldn’t see any pony, so I lowered my leg on the first step of the stairs. It didn’t make any creepy sound, so I started to descend the stairs. On the first floor there were only a lot of bookshelves and a table that had some books on top. I moved closer to the table and recognized only one book from all of the books on the table. “Daring Do...” I picked up the book and took a quick look at it before I put it back on its place on the table. I continued towards the door, that I hoped to be the front door. I took one step at a time as quietly as I could. The door was getting closer and I started reaching for the handle. I was just about to touch the handle, when something hit me and threw me on the floor. The pain on my chest grew for a second and I tried to hold my tears. I turned my head to see who hit me on the floor. I saw a cyan pony with rainbow coloured mane staring me straight into my eyes.
“Where do you think you’re going?!” She yelled at my face. I just stared her. Even though I had only met her, I could tell that she exactly the same Rainbow Dash as in the show. Then I heard doors open and ponies coming into the room.
“What is happening Rainbow?!” The lavender unicorn asked and I tried to start explaining but Rainbow started first.
“This thing”
“I am a person. Not an animal.” I interrupted, but just got an angry look for an answer.
“He tried to go terrorise Ponyville, but I stopped him.” Rainbow said proudly and Twilight gave me confused look. I noticed her face, so I tried to explain.
“I tried to escape! I wasn’t going to terrorise anyone.” I turned to look at Rainbow.”Or anypony.”
Twilight walked closer to me. She handed her hoof, but I ignored her and got up on my own. Twilight looked a bit sad that I ignored her, but I didn’t have a good reason to be nice to them.
“Oh, and thanks for almost killing me.” I said as I looked at Rainbow. I held my chest, which made her understand what she had almost done.”Rainbow Dash...” I mumbled and started to reach for the door handle. Suddenly I saw a force field around my hand and then over my entire body. Twilight was levitating me.
“Oh, come on!” I was getting really frustrated to this shit. The whole mane six were staring at me and I stared back. Twilight walked up to me and looked like she would be searching something from my eyes.
“What?” I asked and waved my hand in front of her.
“How did you know Rainbows name?” She asked and at that moment, I realized, what I had done. I had to come up with a explanation, but I knew that I couldn’t say that they were from a tv show.
“That name seemed to fit her.” I tried to explain, but I knew they wouldn't believe me. They just kept looking at me and I scratched the back of my head.
“Umm... Can you let me down?” I asked in hope that I could stand on my own feet. She let me down.
“Don’t even try to leave. Rainbow will catch you, if you try to leave.” She walked back to her friends and I looked at all of them. Pinkie was the only one, who had a slightly exited face instead of an angry face. I decided to use that excitement to lower the tension in the room. I lowered myself to their eye level and looked at Pinkie. I tried to quickly think of something I could do to make the pink mare come over to me. I didn’t know anything extremely funny, so I tried the only thing I knew. I set my hands against each other, leaving some air between them. Then I pressed my hands together and my hands made a weird farting noise. Pinkies face turned into a large smile. She jumped over to me and started investigating my hands. Then she looked at her hoof and started pressing them together.
She looked so cute, when she tried to make the sound with her hoofs. She was just like the Pinkie from the show. Her mane smelled just like cotton candy or at least that smell was what I’ve always thought that cotton candy would smell like. I don’t know why, but I had to run my hand through her mane. Other five ponies already took a step towards me, but stopped when they saw Pinkie smiling to me.
“You look funny.” She stated and I laughed a little.
“Maybe I do.” I stood up and walked up to the other ponies. I lowered myself back to their eye level and smiled. They looked first a little suspicious, but then smiled back.
“I am not here to terrorise anypony. I just want to know, how did I get here.” I started looking at all of them, but then noticed something ‘Wait a second. There is only four mares in this room. Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie and Rarity’
“Where is Appl... or I mean...” I started but didn’t know how to say Applejack without actually saying her name.
“You mean Applejack. Don’t you?” Twilight said and her face went from smile to serious in a second. I just nodded and Twilight sighed.
“I wished that you would know the answer. You were our last hope to find out where she is.” Twilight tried to hold her tears. “I have no idea, where she could be.” Tears started flowing from her eyes. I walked up to her and wiped the tears off her coat. She looked at me surprised and I smiled back.
“I’ll help you find her.” I set my hand on her shoulder. She pressed her head against it. “We will find her.”
