Friendship is Magic, Warfare is Hell

It was a hot sunny day in the desert of Afghanistan. Im going to cut

to the chase, My name is Private Nick Adams of the United States

Marine Corps, but my squad calls me Ghost. We were at base at the time

rather from messing around, relaxing, cleaning rifles, or more likely

jacking off to pictures of their girlfriends or wives back home. For

me I like to lay down to look at my Princess Luna toy or watch My

Little Pony on my laptop. A brony in the Marines seems weird but no

one in the squad seem to care and we share everything to each other,

cause since we are away from family and me hating my family, we all

grew as brothers. Band of Brothers.

Back to where we are, I was laying on my bed when the squad leader

came in the tent and yelled "Listen up ladies, we're moving out, get

locked and loaded and met up at the humvees!"

We put on our armor, helmets, and got our rifles and ammo. When we got

to the humvees we saw all the squad leaders talking the company

leader. There was a moment of silence until the company leader spoke

"Gentlemen, we are going to the city of blah blah (I didn't give a

shit what city it was or where it was) where there are positive IED's

scattered around the city, also learned that there will be multiple

hostiles in the area so safety's off."

"Fuck yeah, going to kill me some towel heads!" John yelled but we

call him Lucky, me and the company laughed after he said that, even

the company leader laughed a little "Haha.. So any questions?" No one

replied.

"Good let's move out!"

We all got in our humvees and left base, there 10 humvees including

our's in the middle, there were 5 of us in the humvee, Lucky was in

the Driver seat, the squad leader Dick was in the passenger side, we

called him Dick because his name is Dick bu

t mostly because he's a

dickhead, Austin aka shadow who was sitting next to me was gunner, he

is my bestest friend I have, Ty aka well... He was just Ty, and last

but not lease me Ghost who sat behind Dick from the back seat. For the

entire trip it was nothing but silence and honking horns. I just

stared at the widow that was covered dust and a little dried up blood,

it reminded me when I left for boot camp.

"Man, I can't wait to get out of this shit hole called war," said Ty,

"I got a girl waiting for me back home that I'm going to fuck the shit

out of her!"

"Too bad the only pussy you got was your rifle!" Shadow said while we

all laughed

"Fuck you, do you have a girl waiting for you?"

Shadow replied, "Sure do, my beautiful finance waiting for me back home"

"I still remember you proposing to her" I said give a little smirk.

"How bout you Ghost got a girl waiting for you?" Ty asked. For me all

that was waiting for me was so called "friends" and a shitty

family."Well.." I said before getting interrupted.

"Cut the chatter, stay frosty!" Dick said. Shadow got up to the 50

cal. Machine gun and me pulling the hammer back from my rifle and

turning the safety off ready to fire.

I looked around at the city, people hiding in shops and houses. They

were rather afraid of us or hated us. I felt the truck stop and Dick

shouted out "Ok get out and secure the area!" and we did so, we got

out of humvee, besides Shadow staying on the turret. We split into 2

teams, it was me and Dick securing one side of the street while Ty and

Lucky cleared the other. I kicked down the first door went in, and

Dick following me in, and repeated the next 2 buildings and all of

them we said "Clear!" meaning nothing here.

We got outside after clearing the third building, I took a few till I

heard "Ghost!" then feeling someone pulling me back. It was Dick who

pulled me back and I fell on the ground, I was about to ask why he

pulled me, but pointed at something on the ground. My heart stopped

and my eyes widened. Dick yelled out "We have a positive IED right

here!"
