Celestia was sitting down on the stairs to a large tower. She was reading a book on the history of Equestria. She was lying down, her hooves on her cheeks as she carefully read. Her horn glowed as she flipped to the next page, her eyes wide with fascination.
She looked up, startled by a sudden voice calling her name.
She saw Luna, her younger sister, running to her with Discord’s tail in her mouth. She was dragging him like an abused house-pet. She saw a leash on Discord’s neck, and she let out a quiet giggle as they approach. Discord had his small, pointed ears flopped down.
“Luna, you know I don’t like you dragging me.” Discord said in a high pitched voice.
Luna put her hoof over his mouth and shushed him.
“ Did I? Remember, you said if I could raise the moon in less then a minute, you could be my dog for a week. And I did, so be quiet doggy!” Discord crossed his arms and sat down. Discord looked over at Celestia and began with a sigh
“Prince Sombra wants you at the Crystal Fair.” Celestia widened her eyes. Why would Prince Sombra invite me? I thought he hated me and Discord? She narrowed her eyes as she thought quickly. He always had feelings for Luna, so maybe he could only invite Luna if he invited me? But there’s no predicting Prince Sombra.
Celestia nodded and got up. A spark in her horn grew and the book she was reading floated up. She began walking inside the tower, as she looked at her hooves as she moved.
“Ill be right back in a second, Luna.” She said, not even stopping to look back at her sister. Celestia never liked Prince Sombra, for he has always caused trouble to her and Discord, but tends to stay near Luna. Luna was barley aware of the feelings he had for her, and Celestia could never push herself to talk to her about it. Maybe Luna hates him to? But..
Celestia paused, and looked up the large staircase leading to her and her sister’s room.
Maybe I should be happy for my sister. I shouldn’t.. Celestia shook the positive thoughts out of her head. No! Sombra can never be with my sister! And I’m not going to allow it. She confidently lifted her chin up and walked up the stairs. She tossed the book through the door to her room, and slammed the door. She turned back, still filled with confidence, and ran down the stairs.

A day has passed since the invitation to the Crystal Empire. Celestia, along with her sister, were on the train traveling towards the Artic. Neither of them spoke the whole way. Celestia was almost positive that Luna knew how much Celestia hated Sombra. It was almost clear now that Luna shared the feelings that the prince had for her. Celestia tried to open her mouth to say something, but nothing came out except a breath. Suddenly, the train stopped. Celestia let out a sigh of relief that the train-ride was over. Maybe she could talk to her sister now. She took a deep breath and began
“So, Luna.” She searched her thoughts to find the right thing to say.
“Do you like Prince Sombra?” It was quiet for a heartbeat, Celestia wondered why there had been no response, but after that split second, she blinked in worry. She had thought of the foolish thing she just brought up. She covered her mouth with her hoof and her eyes clouded. She lowered her hoof, causing it hang a small distance from her mouth. She preyed to herself that Luna would respond, but nothing happened. A few seconds later later, Luna turned her head to Celestia, and opened her mouth to say something.
“Of course not sis!” Her voice was teasingly playful. She laughed as she continued:
“Were just friends, you know that.”
Fool! Celestia thought to herself. Why would I ask her this question? I’m such a dolt. Celestia’s eyes clouded as she got up and walked past Luna. She walked past the other ponies who walked out of the train as well. She levitated a scarf out of her saddlebag and wrapped it around her neck. She closed the saddlebag, and looked outside the train, through the exit. She saw the snow, storming by. She hesitated, but after a moment, she placed her hoof on the cloud soft snow. She lifted her hoof back up in surprise to how cold it was. She looked behind her to the other ponies looking at her impatiently. She groaned at the disrespect, then placed her hoof onto the snow once again. She ignored the ice-cold snow, and placed her other hoof on the snow. She began to walk slowly towards the empire. She saw the beautiful crystal empire behind the shield, and begun walking faster. She had never seen the Empire before, and she was excited to learn more about it. Only a few hoof steps away, she heard a voice echo.
“Celestia!” She looked behind her. All the excitement in her eyes vanished as she saw her sister again. She looked at her for a slight second, then lifted her hoof in surprise. Luna was flying! Fool! She knows she wasn’t supposed to let others know that she’s an Alicorn! She looked around Luna, and all she saw were surprise faces. She saw the pones from inside the train watch her with there jaws dropped. Everypony that was walking towards the empire as well. Celestia shot an angry look at Luna. She twitched her covered wing, and shook her head. Luna looked confused, then looked at the ground. After a moment, she had a surprised look too. She stopped flying, allowing herself to flop onto the cold snow. Celestia didn’t even look back at her for her final reaction. She turned back to the shield, and walked through it. All the cold vanished in the air, as she saw grassy fields, and fillies playing on it. There coats were sparkling, and all had beautiful manes. She walked gracefully, deeper into the empire.
“It might be bigger then Canterlot!” She said, not even trying to resist talking to herself. She levitated a notepad out of her saddlebag, along with a quill and began writing. She didn’t have to look at her notepad to write. She was too amazed to what the Crystal Empire had to offer. She looked at a ring-toss stand, a crystal corn on the cob stand.. She gasped. She quickly ran over to a jousting arena, and pushed away other spectators. She reached her hooves over the fence, staring excitedly into the arena. She saw two ponies going at each other with wooden sticks. Celestia took out her notepad and wrote some more. She lowered the notepad to observe more carefully. Her eyes were big as she saw the ponies go at each other with the jousting sticks. A brown maned, Crystal pony knocked the stick into the other, sending him flying. The crowd marched there hooves on the ground, cheering and yowling echoed around the area. Celestia pushed her hooves away from the fence and turned around. Her smile was wide after the match, she almost forgot about what a goof she was, and what a foolish thing that Luna did. She padded over to the field fillies played on, and sat under a nice, shaded tree. She pulled the saddlebag’s strap in her mouth, and threw it off her. She opened it up again, and levitated out a new quill.
“Celestia?” A sudden, dark voice spoke.
Celestia’s magic faded as her concentration sunk. She flinched at the voice, then quickly looked up with a sigh, and saw a tall, unnaturally black Unicorn. She tilted her head for awhile, trying to make out the figure. She then jumped up in recognition.
“Hello King Soulbra.” Celestia hesitated to bow her head to the King, but did so anyways.
King Soulbra was the current King of the Crystal Empire. He had always treated the Crystal ponies fairly.. However, he was just like his son, Prince Sombra. Celestia knew he wasn’t the average, goodie-goodie king that most of the kingdoms or empires had.
She slowly lifted her head to make eye contact with the dark unicorn, but it wasn’t worth it. Looking into his eyes was like looking straight through him. She lowered her head again, and waited for him to speak.
“How’s your mother?” He said in a highly suspicious tone.
“Uh, fine.” Celestia sighed.
“Is your sister with you?”
Celestia nodded. At that moment, she had just remembered her sister. Where has she gone..?
“Nice talking to you, King Soulbra.” Celestia resorted as she turned around. She levitated her saddlebag and began running in the opposite direction.
Luna must of screwed up! Celestia thought as she ran. She remembered how she foolishly revealed herself of being an Alicorn. She could be taken for testing at this point! The thought made Celestia run faster. She closed her eyes and prayed her sister would be okay.
She soon got to the entrance of the shield. She looked at the train where her and her sister emerged, but there was no sign of her. She sunk her head and shuffled her hooves, causing her to knock herself over. She sat down, deep in thought.
“Maybe she’s at the castle.. With..” Celestia gasped. “With Prince Sombra?!”
She darted up and spread her wings. Her eyes were full with anger as she began picking up speed. She threw herself up and began flying as fast as she could. She didn’t care if they knew she was an alicorn. Maybe they might even mistake her for a Pegasus. She slightly slowed down and looked below her. None of the ponies were looking at her. They must think she’s apart of a show or something. Celestia shook her head and flew closer to the castle. She looked up to see the castle getting closer. In a matter of seconds, she clashed into the ground firmly, and began running into the castle. She looked behind her to make sure nobody was there, and sheltered her wings. Her horn began to glow as she pulled the door open with her magic. She ran into the castle to see her sister walking slowly down a staircase. Celestia took a deep breath of relief as she approached her sister.
“Why were you here?! Why didn’t you tell me?” Celestia had pure worry in her tone as she gasped for breath.
Luna shook her head, tears beginning to form in her eyes. Celestia tried to put her hoof onto her sister’s shoulder, but she couldn’t. Luna was already running out the front door. Celestia ran after her, only to get the door slammed in her face. Her eyes clouded as her haunches fell to the ground. She looked down at her hooves, her deep breaths slowly fading. She looked over her shoulder with an enraged look on her face. She shot up, stomping into Prince Sombra’s room.
She had come face to face with the giant doorway. Her horn was facing the door as she quickly levitated the door open, causing it to float back loudly. A dark figure was looking straight at her. Luna squinted to make out the figure, but she had already known it was Prince Sombra. She shook her head and padded to the Prince. He turned around, his horn began to blow dark red, and the magic formed onto Celestia’s tail. Celestia began walking slower, as heavy weights have been placed on her back. She struggled to go on, but fell to the ground, red magic flowing in her tail. She looked back at her tail, making out the red magic, with the dark-green surrounding.
“Sombra! What did you do to Luna?” She rasped, taking deep breaths through her nose.
The pony hadn’t said a thing. He remained covered in the dark shadows. Celestia could only make out the faintest smile on the Unicorn’s face.
“Answer me!” She said louder, struggling out from the grip above her. After afew heartbeats, the Unicorn spoke in a deep, but quiet voice.
“Celestia. Oh silly Celestia. You know Luna.”
Her face almost turned red at the colt’s harassment. Her horn began to glow and a beam formed. The magic beam hit the horn of the unicorn, causing his magic to fade. He jumped back, skidding on the carpet, and keeping a sturdy balance.
Celestia felt the weights lift. She did the same, skidding backwards and landing straightly onto the carpet.
“You don’t need to play this way. We can end this now, and you can tell me what the hay you did to my sister!” Celestia spat without thinking. She didn’t waste any time approaching Prince Sombra, her horn still glowing brightly.
“Don’t even try and use that spell again. I’m ready.” She flinched to the oddest sight. Was Prince Sombra putting his hooves up? Did he surrender? Celestia smiled.
“That wasn’t too hard, was it?” Her voice was still stern as she continued. “Now you’re going to tell me what you did, and you’re going to say everything.”
For moments, all Celestia could hear was the blood in her ears. It felt like her heart was in neck as she began moving towards him faster.
“She..” Sombra began. Celestia stopped moving and watched the Unicorn.
“She didn’t want me to tell you.” Celestia blinked in surprise, but leaped forward, her magic growing larger.
“Don’t play games with me!” Celestia shouted. “Tell me now!”
“No.”
“I swear! If your not telling me everything, your going to have a knife through your chest.” Celestia resorted as she turned around. Her magic faded as she stomped in the opposite direction, not turning around to hear a response from the failed Unicorn.
