Chapter one
The bright sunlight hit White Sky's head, illuminating his dark black mane. As if it was shaking him to get up. It slowly woke him up, he wasn't really awake yet.. A clock stood at his nightstand, today was his first day in Ponyville, with a new job as an assistant, while it probably didn't pay well,at least he could earn some bits. He was working for a pony named Twilight Sparkle. White Sky's eyes were not open fully, he looked at his clock. The clock read 8:47 AM. His daydreaming ended, he was terribly late, he darted out of bed quickly combing his mane, it was a disaster and he had no time to get ready. He ran directly out of his house and down the street, he ran as fast as his hooves could take him. All that time running back at Canterlot really payed off, he was in great shape.
White Sky arrived at the library. He knocked on the front door, a small dragon appeared at the door. "Yes" he asked, looking at White Sky.
"I'm looking for Twilight Sparkle, I applied for the her assistant job." White Sky said, he looked around to find her, she was no where in sight. So he decided to look around the room, just books, and a creepy little owl staring directly into his soul. It unnerved him a little, and the feeling didn't go away.
"Oh yeah, let me get her." The dragon ran upstairs, he could the mumbled voices of the two from upstairs. He heard somepony coming down the stairs, probably Twilight. White Sky thought about being an assistant, the more he thought about it, the more he regretted applying for the job. Twilight came down the stairs, and into White Sky's view. The mare looked too familiar to just be as stranger. He walked in, getting a good look around the library. It was no doubt a library, but books were perfectly organized.
"So you like my book collection?" Twilight asked, breaking White Sky's concentration. He looked at her, she seemed oblivious to the fact that they must have met before. White Sky wanted to bring up the fact that he knew her, but it slipped his mind.
"Where do I start?" White Sky asked, a little nervous, he awaited her answer. He began to dread working, for no good reason. Just that the lazy side of him was starting to take over.
"Well, how about you help Spike over there clean up a little." Twilight said. Spike brought down some cleaning tools and they ventured into the kitchen. Thus began the strenuous chore; it looked like an explosion had gone off in the kitchen.
"You're going to ask about the kitchen aren't you." Spike said, in a bored tone. Curiosity got the better of him, he nodded. "Let's just say Twilight's been doing some-" Spike stopped to groan a little. "Spells, and lots of 'em. White Sky stepped on some ash, it stained his luscious white hoof. He looked at his hoof, and back to the mess.
"Anything for money." White Sky thought, and they began. The whole thing took most of the day, the clock said that it was time to leave in an hour. The last hour was spent with White Sky talking to Spike, mostly about their lives aside from work. But then the question arose again.
"You know, Twilight looks really familiar, I really don't know where I've seen her though." White Sky said, kind of anxious for a good answer.
"Come on, everypony in Canterlot looks the same after a while, I'm sure you just saw a look-a-like." Spike reassured White Sky. However, White Sky didn't feel satisfied with that answer. He just dismissed it as another case of deja vu. But before he knew it, the hour was up, and he had to go home.
When White Sky got home, the door was open just a crack, and all the lights were off. "Oh great, somepony broke in." He thought to himself. As he got in, ready to tackle the intruder, the lights went on and streamers went flying. And a hyperactive pink pony approached him. As well as the pink pony, others surrounded White Sky. He sighed, this was a welcoming party.
"Hiya!" The pony said, she looked like she was going to explode in excitement. White Sky began to speak, but the pink pony interrupted him. "I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you. I'm so excited Are you excited? I'm so excited, nopony usually moves here, and you moved here and I'm sooooo happy!" She gave a smile that was almost controlling, it only took White Sky to get a stupid looking grin on his face. He walked away from Pinkie Pie to go get a drink. He didn't even realize how thirsty he was. After a while, he began to get a pounding headache, too much alcohol and music on full blast didn't make it any better. He was hoping he didn't have too much alcohol, he told himself he was just buzzed.
"Hey-" He tried to get somepony's attention, but it was no use, he was too quiet, and his speech was slurred as well. He began to stumble as his vision doubled, he was 100% drunk and he knew it, what's more, this was his first time getting this drunk. He manged to get in front of Pinkie Pie before he finally passed out.
It took him a few minutes to wake up. Probably longer, if she hadn't have tried to get him up.
"Are you okay?" Pinkie asked, holding out a hoof to get up. White Sky's head was pounding even harder, and he just wanted to sleep.
"Yeah, I'm fine." White Sky said. Even his own voice sounded like it was coming through a megaphone. He just needed to get some sleep, and he would be fine.
"That was really scary, you could have DIED!" Pinkie said sounding grateful, and horrified. She began to walk out, until White Sky stopped her.
"Hey, thanks for the party.." White Sky said, feeling a little awkward. Pinkie Pie's face lit up.
"Thank you, I planned it just for you!" She said with growing enthusiasm. She giggled a little with excitement. White Sky was still intoxicated, and as a result quickly shooed Pinkie out the door, closing it and then locking it. He finally crawled into bed, the time was 1:30 AM. The bed felt incredible, after being up that long. He closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
