"Minty come on!" A male voice can be heard calling for me, It must be my brother, even though he's not related to me by blood, he is still my brother. "I'm coming, hold on for a sec." We're planning to go on a trip to Fillydelphia, they say its a nice little city with interesting shops to visit, But we're not here for sightseeing or anything, He just wants to find a job here. Guess before I go any further I should Introduce myself, my name is Minty, I'm not sure if that's really my name, but this family gave it to me so I'll assume it is my real name, I'm a Pegasus and that's my brother Jade who is also a Pegasus. Hours later after the train ride we're finally here, as we walked into the city. I saw a familiar looking pony in front of a familiar looking house. Her color was yellow with green mane, and she has special eyes, they're multicolored. Even though she's a complete stranger to me I can't help but feel like we're related somehow..... "Hey Laurie, lets play tag!" ......Laurie, who's Laurie? why am I thinking about this Laurie pony? "Hey, Minty, you okay?" asked Jade with a worried look on his face. I'm really confused now, Who is she? Forget it, I shouldn't let myself get distracted by this sort of thing. "Hey Jade look, that place might be good for your skill." I pointed over to a local flight school to distract him so he wouldn't be too worried about me, the sad looking pony I saw earlier is gone, she must have went back home to wherever she lives, I wonder why was she crying at that house though. Jade got accepted by the school and he became a flight instructor. So, as planned, we decided to live in Fillydelphia. "Can't catch me Laurie!" W-where am I.... It looks like I'm in that building I saw earlier today, and that pony I saw is here too, except she's much younger. "Oh yeah, watch me, Lariette!" I suddenly flew towards her at a fast speed and pounced her, Also it seems her name is Lariette, judging from the way I called out to her. I woke up, It looks like it was all just a dream, I wonder what did that dream was trying to tell me, I think I'll go look for answers tomorrow first thing in the morning.
The next morning I woke up and noticed that Jade isn't home, knowing him he probably went to work early because he was very excited about his new job, well who wouldn't when they're just starting. After making breakfast for myself I decided to start investigating about my past. After I left the apartment I noticed there's a vegetable stand right near that familiar house. I decided to ask the owner if he knows anything about the house. "Oh this house? it used to belong to a family called The Emeralds, their daughter moved out a few months ago but when she decided to come back she was too late it seems, the couple who owned this house passed away." I didn't expect the story to be that sad, he said it should be okay if I visit it for a bit so I went inside the building to see if I'll find any clue that might help me understand my past. The building seemed to be in a pretty nice condition. "I got you, Lariette!" I heard a voice that sounded like it came from a room upstairs, so I decided to follow it, it leads me to a door that says 'Lariette's room' on it, I turned the knob and entered the room. To my surprise it looks exactly like the room I was in in my dreams, except in my dream the room looked cheerful, now its just gray and gloomy, Lariette must have taken everything with her when she left. I found a picture frame on the ground, there's a picture of Lariette and.... me? It's a picture of Lariette and I as fillies, I wonder why didn't she take this with her. I wanted to know more about her but the house doesn't seem to have anything that can help me find out about anything. I left the house and asked all around Fillydelphia if any of them knows where Lariette lives right now, but they're pretty sure she doesn't stay in one spot so they couldn't help me out in finding her. Well even though this investigation is a fail I think I'll keep this picture frame with me

It's been 5 years since my brother and I started living in Fillydelphia, today was another good day, Jade is famous in Fillydelphia now for his amazing flying skills, as for me I help the colt that owns the vegetable stand ever since we met 5 years ago. This picture frame of me and Lariette is still perfectly clean because I made sure to take good care of it. I went to Jade's room to tell him I'm gonna go to bed for the night, turns out he's already asleep. "Good night, Jade." I closed the door behind me and went to bed. "Laurie! run!" I woke up in a room, strangely just like 5 years ago, it looks so familiar. As I got out of the room I saw a pegasus mare with broken wings trapped under a fallen roof, the building I'm currently in is burning. "Fly, Laurie! Fly!" The trapped mare stares at me with sad eyes, I feel bad having to leave her behind, but I'm in this filly form again and I can't do anything, I tried to fly out of the building but the smoke is blocking my way I can't see through it, but I kept going through the smoke hoping to see an exit soon, as soon as I saw an open window I went straight for it to escape, but something hit me in the head and I passed out. When I came to I noticed that after passing out I manage to escape because I flew fast enough for my body to push itself out. I saw my parents and my brother Jade as a young colt. "We'll adopt this young filly then, we feel sorry for her to lose her family at such a young age." I woke up from that dream, I remember it so clearly now! My real family died during that fire, and I have been living with Jade's family ever since. I finally remember, my family wanted to go explore the world, but before we left we visit my cousin, Lariette and that's when the dream I got 5 years ago happened. After we first reached Hoofington we rented an apartment room for the night, but before my parents could explore the city the next day, they died. And my real name is not Minty Breeze, It's Laurie! If it is true that Lariette is my only relative left I'm gonna go and find out where she lives and tell her that she is not alone. I packed my belonging and some extra items that are important for travelling. Just when i was about to go to his room to explain everything to him, Jade already woke up. I explained to him why I'm leaving. "Yeah, you should go ahead and find your cousin, but I think if you do find her, you should go live with her instead. I'll explain to mom and dad for you." I thanked him and gave him a goodbye hug. And so my journey began. I caught the train leaving for Appleoosa and rode all the way to the small village of Appleoosa. During the train ride there was a pony sitting across from where I'm sitting, she had a white body and red mane with a rose cutie mark. "Hello there!" I tried to start a friendly conversation with her. "Hello, my name's Roseluck, what's yours?" She asked, I told her that my name was Laurie and that I came from Fillydelphia. she told me that she's heading to Appleoosa to deliver some of her flowers to a client there and she was originally from Ponyville. "I'm sorry for asking you this even though we just met, but do you know the yellow pony in this picture?" I showed her the picture of me and Lariette as fillies, she said Lariette bought some flowers from here before and apparently she owns a Jewelry store in Ponyville and she has her own family. When I reached Appleoosa I waved goodbye to Roseluck and she went her own way. I decided that I'm gonna go to Ponyville to find Lariette, but before that maybe since I'm out on an adventure I thought I should stay here for a bit. The next morning while I was walking in town trying to get some breakfast, I saw two fillies with slightly familiar details come out of the train, one of them had multicolored eyes, red and purple. Few seconds later I noticed that they came here on their own, I decided to ask them what are they doing in Appleoosa. "Well, our mom asked us to get on this train no matter where it goes. And that I should take care of my little brother." Said the older one. The young filly said her name was Zaria Emeralds and her little brother is Larzen Emeralds. "How about this, if you two want to I can watch over you guy and then go back to Ponyville with you." They agreed so I brought them along with me to get ourselves some breakfast.

"Alright you two, lets go." After staying in Appleoosa for about 2 days I decided its time for me to see my cousin. The two of them seems to be excited to finally see their mom again too. After we reached Ponyville the two invited me to stay in their house for a bit. But while I we were walking everyone looked like they're scared of something, I saw a Jewelry store with "Emeralds" in the name, that must be Lariette's shop. But then the two young ponies said that shop is their house, I found out that they really are Lariette's young ones. Zaria knocked on the door and a colt opened it, seems like he didn't know they were gone. "Where did you find them miss?" I was confused because why didn't he know but before I could answer. Zaria told him that their mom sent them away. "I see... I hope you're not a friend of Lariette, are you?" I told him that I'm her cousin instead of just a friend. But then he told me I should be careful at night because she goes for ponies that are close to her, I'm officially confused now. Zen, Lariette's husband lets me stay with them for as long as I like for the night. That night I went out for to clear my head because I'm still confused about why Zen said I should be careful, and why is everypony in town scared. suddenly I heard a voice from behind me. It was Lariette! but there's something wrong with her left eye, she has no eyeball and her eye socket is bleeding. "A-are you alright, Lar?" She took out a knife from the ground and looks like she's about to stab me. "No, I'm not, not until I take your eye at least!!" She tried to stab my left eye but I rolled away. I tried to fly away but she threw the knife into one of my wings and I fell down to the ground. The pain in my wing stops me from getting up. Lariette was right in front of me and almost stabbed my eye, but then Zen came out of the house and called out to her asking her to stop, when Lariette turned around to look at Zen she looked like she was in a lot of pain and disappears into thin air. "You alright miss Laurie?" was the last thing I heard before passing out from the pain in my wing. When I woke up, I found myself lying on a bed, and judging from how the room looks I think I'm at Ponyville's General Hospital. I tried to push myself up but the pain in my wing is still very intense. Someone came into my room, it was Zen. I asked him what's going on in Ponyville so he told me everything. "Lariette was attack while she was in the Everfree Forest, I was too late and she died, now she haunts ponies that used to have a relationship with her. even if they only talked two or tree times, but whenever she sees us, her family, she disappears.". When I asked him if there's a way if we can help Lariette, he told me he doesn't have any idea how we can help Lariette so she wont go
haunting ponies to get their eye to replace her missing one, but he asked me to meet one of Lariette's friend named Shun, Zaria's very close with him apparently, I though I should go and find Shun after they let me out of the hospital. A couple of weeks later they released me from the Hospital, my wing hasn't completely recovered so I shouldn't open them for a few more weeks, guess I'm stuck on the ground then. As I was walking towards town I passed by a school, looks like school is out for today. I saw Zaria coming out of the Schoolhouse so I thought I might as well ask her to go to Shun's house with me. "Hi Miss Laurie! you're finally out of the hospital!" she tackle hugged me out of nowhere, and her horn almost poked my neck. "H-hey careful now." I asked her if she can show me to her friend Shun, I still want to ask him about Lariette. "Oh! Yeah lets go! he's pretty funny I'm sure you'll love him!" Funny huh... guess I'll see when I meet him. As soon as we reached his house I knocked on the door. "I'm coming." As soon as the door opens Zaria jumped towards the Stallion opening the door, however he was already sticking one of his front hoof out. "A-a-ah, No surprise hugs this time." Zaria was looking slightly disappointed. "Awh... Hey Shun can we bake more cookies!?" Shun just gave a shocked reaction to the young filly. "B-but! you just ate like 20 of them yesterday! and how come you're not fat yet!?" Zaria just kept on bugging him asking him to bake cookies with her. "Argh fine.... but tell your mother she owes me money for the ingredients." Zaria tackled hug the Stallion, guess he wasn't so prepared after all. "Yaaay!". We went into his house and Zaria went to the kitchen with Shun, I sat on the sofa waiting for Shun to finish baking cookies. about 30 minutes or so later Shun came into the living room with Zaria carrying the cookies and 3 cups of tea, she put the plate and the cups on the table and sat next to me while Shun sat on a chair on the opposite side. "Now then, who are you?" he asked as he picked up a cup of tea of the table. "My name is Laurie, I used to live in Fillydelphia but I came here to look for Lariette." I picked up one of the cups and takes a sip. "Oh... Lariette huh, well has anyone told you about what happened to her yet?" I nodded. "Zen told me she..... and that's why my wing is like this now, I got attacked by her about a month or so ago." Shun then stared up at the ceiling with a very serious look. "I think I have an idea how to bring her back, I'm going to have to ask Zen whether he agrees to do it or not, though."
