The Epic of Sombra
Appendix
Previous ChapterContained within being reference for the simplification and understanding of the modern Pony.
Ariow, Shades, and Ombre:
All three are referenced many times throughout the manuscript. It is believed that they are one and the same as Sombra, the Evil King of the mythical Crystal Empire. It is unknown how the name was corrupted so.
Ariow- pronounced like the common words Air as in Air, ee as in key, and O, as in Show. Air-ee-O.
Shades- NOT pronounced as the plural of the common word shade. Sha is in crab, dA as in make, z as in zephyr. Sha-dA-z.
Ombre: pronounced like the common words Om as is in Om nom nom, brA as in break. Om-brA.
Many unknown lands are referenced also. Places such as the Crystal Spire or Senntisten are believed to be mythical in origin, such as the Crystal Empire itself, only more obscure.
Kristal vs. Crystal:
The word Kristal is thought to be an ancient and archaic spelling of Crystal (it is however, pronounced the same way). Perhaps the transition of spelling is present to show a large passage of time taking place within the manuscript and setting thereof.
