//-------------------------------------------------------// Phoenix Wright: Pony Attorney -by Laughing Lyric- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 June 17, 1:15 pm Canterlot Castle Tower "Why did you bring me here, anyway?" Phoenix inquired, deciding that he might as well get to the point. "Because you're a defense attorney, of course." Celestia replied. "I, well, someone who I know, requires your skills." "So, you want me to defend someo- er, somepony?" Phoenix said. "Exactly. The trial is tomorrow. I will give you the details on the way to Ponyville"." Celestia walked through an archway out of the high tower room that led to a staircase. "Wait, TOMORROW!?" Phoenix blurted out. "You've summoned me to a brightly colored world where horses TALK, and tell me that I need to be able to defend someone in court THE NEXT DAY!?" "I believe you mean ponies, and... well, it WAS on short notice.." Celestia mumbled sheepishly, turning and heading down the staircase. "Follow me." "Oh, this is going to be fun..." Phoenix thought to himself as he clumsily plodded down the staircase in pursuit of the princess. June 17, 1:10 pm Canterlot Castle "Wait...where exactly ARE we?" Phoenix asked. "Oh, I'm sorry, I should have told you earlier. We are in Canterlot Castle." Celestia answered. "Canterlot? Sounds a lot like something else... but I just can't put my finger...or hoof...or whatever on it." Phoenix thought to himself. "So, we're in a castle? Wait, then are you..." "Yes, I am Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria and all those other titles...I honestly don't really care for them, please just call me Celestia." "Er...okay Celestia." Phoenix said. "So you said that you were going to tell me the details on the way out?" "Yes, and thank you SO much for not going all formal when I said that I was royalty. Putting on that whole formal and proper facade is really annoying." Celestia grinned mischievously, "Don't tell anyone that though." Phoenix was relieved. "Oh, good, I'm not very good at that stuff." The he realized something. "That's odd, I haven't seen anypony around." "I planned this route through the castle a while ago, it lets me walk through with a minimal chance of meeting others. As I was going to say, there has been a murder. I was not prepared, and had to summon you, because this is the first time in hundreds of years that a murder has been committed under my rule." "Wow, murder happens WAY more often in the world I'm from." Phoenix said. "I suppose you brought me here because I had more experience?" "Yes, you have the advantage of experience, but you're still unfamiliar with many things about Equestria. However, the justice systems are close enough that you should be alright tomorrow." Celestia replied. "The chariot is just outside these doors, are you ready?" "Yes, let's go." //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue As the crowd cheered, confetti rained down after the judge claimed the victim "Not Guilty". Just another successful trial for Phoenix Wright. July 22nd, 3:15 am Phoenix's House "Yeah, woohoo!" Phoenix mumbled in his sleep. Unfortunately, he rolled out of bed, waking him from his dream. Phoenix sighed, getting off the floor, "Aw man, so I didn't really use my awesome attorney skills to beat Edgeworth again?" He dejectedly clambered back into bed, hoping he'd be able to catch a few more hours of sleep. His dream was a bit… weirder this time. "So, you are the one called Phoenix Wright?" "Phoenix Wright, defender of the innocent and upholder of justice!" he replied, proud and confident, even when speaking to disembodied voices in his sleep. "Then follow me." Suddenly, a tall, four legged creature appeared  by the edge of Phoenix's vision, but the dream was so dark that it was impossible for him to tell what was there. Following the dark silhouette, Phoenix walked towards a bright light on the horizon. "I guess it went in there," Phoenix thought to himself as he walked into the blindingly bright circle. "Huh?" Phoenix mumbled, sitting up. Or at least trying to sit up, as his legs weren't working correctly. "Guess my legs fell asleep,' he thought to himself. Unkown date, Unknown time Unknown location "I see you're awake." Spoke a kind, but authoritative voice spoke. "Whozzat?" Phoenix mumbled tiredly, his sleep not having been very restful. "You may call me Celestia." Looking up, Phoenix saw a tall unicorn-looking creature. Already weirded out by his oddly vivid dream, he finally managed to sit himself up, and looked down at his hands, or should I say hooves. "Wow, this is one crazy dream," Phoenix said, staring at his horse-like body. Celestia smiled, "I'm afraid this is not a dream." Sure that that's what something would say in a dream, Phoenix pinched his back leg between two hooves as hard as possible to make sure. "OUCH!" Phoenix exclaimed. Continually poking and pinching himself, he said to himself, "This is definitely a dream, I'm just not waking up for some reason…" "If that doesn't prove it's not a dream then I'm not sure what will," Celestia laughed.
