Good Morning Beautiful

One thing that everypony was used to was the exact time at which the sun appeared from the horizon and replaced the darkness that was the domain of the other royal alicorn, not that many ponies knew that Princess Luna, the not so far unknown co-ruler of the land of Equestria, had been in charge of rising and setting the moon after a thousand years of… time off as Spike had joked once much to the chagrin and grunts of the close knit of friends.
After a millennium, Princess Celestia, the solar power in pony form as many still thought, had a full night´s rest and the sun seemed a little bit more bright, a little bit more refreshing for those ponies that were used to wake up at the first ray of the igneous stellar body, and in one particular place at the outskirts of a small place called Ponyville (yes, it was on purpose) inside a particular small room (told you it was intentional), one pony that was more than used to wake up at sunrise… didn't rise.
The place had the fitting name of Sweet Apple Acres and it was a popular orchard where rows and rows of beautiful, well kept and loved apple trees gave the populace of ponies around the country their bright and scrumptious red, green and yellow gifts.
The owning family of this particular orchard was known as the Apple Clan, with dozens of family members living all across the nation, each one in charge of similar orchard, they were very well known and also important members of society, all reliable and ready to accept you into the family.
That was exactly what had happened not too long ago for a very specific person… yes, person, not pony, the story of why, well, that was a long story and it doesn’t really belong here, or at least not right now, trust me.
As I was saying, a certain person had found out how accepting and welcoming the family known as Apple could be; with nothing more than the clothes on his back and after several mishaps and disasters he had simply been told that a room at Sweet Apple Acres was now his own much to his own surprise.
At first, it was not without perils and misunderstanding, but after getting into a routine little by little the strangeness of his situation was accepted as his new life. Theoretically speaking, there was no other choice for him.
A certain purple colored mare had reached the conclusion that replicating the circumstances on which he arrived to their world was close to impossible, not even the princesses with all their power and long experience with strange phenomena could really understand how a new species, one that had been told as if it were a myth much like the then only known Mare on the Moon, could simply pop into existence, the energy required and the mechanics of it simply went over his head, he was sure some new descriptions and theories were created just by him materializing into Equestria.
With that being his current and future circumstances he could do nothing but acclimate and try to help and socialize; at first it was with mixed results, some ponies simply ran away seeing him, something about a horror; while others, like a certain sugar filled pony, simply decided in that moment that he deserved a party, it was after this point that he was very careful about parties that were done by Pinkie Pie.
The present moment was certainly related to that pink pony, mostly because what he could remember from the last day was that a party was involved, including massive amounts of sugar and cider by the taste on his mouth.
It was weird, he thought while he silently cursed the ability of the sun to hit him right in the middle of his eyes, how did Celestia did it to do such an amazing feat to wake up her little ponies, the mare was a prankster at heart.
But he simply tried to ignore the sun and settled on the bed and the fuzzy pillow at his side… he was pretty sure he didn't have a fuzzy pillow, and unless he had fallen asleep on Rarity's house then there was only one conclusion.
Panic.
Well, that would be second, first things first was to discover which pony was currently on his bed so he could be prepared for the possible outcome but it was at this moment that he also remembered two things, one, the party had been in the Sweet Apple Acres barn, and two, his room didn't receive the sun's rays due to its location, so that only left one possibility.
Cranking open one eye while trying to get it adjusted to the bright light, while also praying that the coat color wasn't red, he peered downwards to only see yellow, well, more like blond. Containing one sigh after finding this he relaxed a little bit, not that he was out of danger or of any embarrassing situation, but at least it was better to be with AJ than with Pinkie Pie or even worst, Fluttershy, now THAT would have been awkward without any doubt.
It was a couple of seconds for his brain to fire all cylinders this early in the morning, but it was in those same seconds that an idea finally drilled into his lukewarm brain, why was he so relaxed?
That was truly interesting, why was he so relaxed when the situation called for the dramatic and even the hilarious in some cases? Was it because, as he had already thought, he wasn't in bed with Pinkie Pie or neither Fluttershy? It had something to do with familiarity perhaps, but what was it? What was it?
Applejack had been one of the first to truly welcome him into Ponyville alongside the pink dynamo, she was the one who extended a… hoof in camaraderie and hospitality, sure, they had their little spats; he himself was too much of a swindler and lazy bastard to the honest and hard-working attitude of the orange mare. His thoughts had to end abruptly due to the pressure on his sides and lungs. It seemed that AJ was trying to get more comfortable, and that meant doing a pneumatic style bear hug on what she probably thought as a pillow or maybe a marshmallow… an apple marshmallow maybe?
Once the terrible experience had passed and she settled down once again he put his attention on the blond mare, being quite surprised that she didn't sleep with her hat on, maybe she wasn't that hat-obsessed as he thought, or she lost it in the party, and now that he remembered, how in the name of… well, Celestia… where they both in her bed?
“I swear, you were a human girl and this would be a romantic comedy” he said softly, to which her answer was simply a rather unladylike snort before settling down. He had to admit, she was cute when she wanted, well, all ponies where cute, is like if they tried to kill him with diabetes sometimes, but AJ… she was… she was… it almost felt like if an epiphany was about to burst into his brain.
“Hey, Applejack! Are ya still on bed? Granny Smith was askin’ for… ya” the deep and resonating voice of a certain crimson colored stallion that was quite capable of breaking him in half and squish him as an orange arrived to the room and he only had one thing to say.
“Oh tarnation” that morning was truly a memorable one in the Apple residence.
