Twilight and her friends are out near Everfree, observing a meteor shower, when another kind of "meteors" join the display. The sickly green meteors crash, come alive, and the six bearers of harmony are assaulted by beings of rock and green fire. Scared and confused, they are saved by a group of strange, bipedal, fur-less warriors.

What was those "things"? Are more coming? How big a threat are they to Equestria, and can its inhabitants trust these other newcomers, these… "Orcs"?
