The Bundle
Home. Finally home after a thousand on the moon, I am finally home. No more lonely nights filled with nothing but hatred. No more nights of losing my mind to that wretched side of me. And no more nights of nopony else around, and I am finally able to return to my sister, and my people. I AM HOME.
Today was a wonderful day, full of festivities to celebrate the return of Princess Luna to Equestria. A day where nothing but smiles would be shared with the Princess of the night as she would stand with her sister and the Elements of Harmony, the ones who had saved her from her shell of a self. This day Luna would be happiest with since she was finally home, in her right mind, as co-ruler of Equestria. Though not quite co-ruler since she did try to bring eternal night, but still either way, she was home. And at her home in Canterlot, Luna stands on the balcony outside of her room, looking up to the sky, to her former prison.
“Luna?” the alicorn of the night gasped as she heard her name called, turning to see her sister approaching with a smile. “Did I scare the goddess of the night?” she asked with a smile. Luna just shook her head and turned back towards the sky.
“We were just thinking sister, thinking of our time there” she said as Celestia joined her by her side. “Thou broke our train of thought” she said Celestia wrapped a wing around her.
“Luna…I…I’m sorry” Luna looked to her sister as she began.
“Quiet thyself sister. Thou did what was needed at the time. We were not ourselves and needed to be…somewhere else” she assured her sister as she looked up to her.
“Still sister…a thousand years…Lulu…I’m sorry…” Celestia continued, bringing a tear to Luna’s eyes as she turned to her sister. Luna wrapped her hoofs around her sister, hugging her tightly as she cried in her chest.
“W-We missed thee as well my sister…a-and we art sorry…Tia…” she said holding onto her sister. “A thousand years…is a long time to be away from thy family…” she sniffed as she held her sister, the two of them standing and just enjoying each other’s presence. Finally back together after being separated for a thousand years. “Well…we wish to explore this new home. We recall being in Everfree before we were banished” she said with a smile.
“Of course, explore to your heart’s content Lulu” Tia said with a smile as she turned to leave her sister. Luna smiled and watched her leave, deciding to follow suit. Not looking back to the moon as she walked back into the castle.
Luna walked through the mostly empty halls of the castle, not bothered by the fact that there were more ponies through the castle during the day than at night. She would pass by the occasional maid or guard, nodding to them as they addressed her and bowed before her. Some of them she felt weren’t being honest with her, but she wasn’t expecting everyone to love her of course upon her return. Trust was something you had to earn back.
“Hopefully we can earn the trust we lost so long ago…” Luna said to herself as she walked through the halls of the castle, walking towards the front gate to have a look outside. As she approached though, she swore she could hear the sound of child, a crying child at that. “A babe?” she asked herself as she headed towards the source.
“Who left this here?” one of the gate guards said as he looked to the basket containing the source of the crying.
“I don’t know but what do we do with it? Tell the princess?” the other asked.
“There’s no need to wake her for a child, and plus remember there are two princesses now” the first responded.
“Yeah but come on, would you wanna go and tell former Nightmare Moon we have a crying child in a basket at the front? She might eat it!” he complained, hitting a soft spot in Luna as she heard him comment on that.
“Keep quiet! What if she hears you?!” the other exclaimed and Luna decided to make her appearance.
“Contrary to what most say, We do not partake in canabalism” Luna said as she walked into view, both guards standing up right and now sweating bullets as she walked over to the basket. She kneeled before the basket, looking in to see the child was indeed a babe. One who was still an infant, with bright purple hair and an orange color to her fur. Luna used her magic to lift the child with the blanket still around it, and brought it to herself, holding the child in one of her hoofs. “Did thou see who left this babe?” Luna asked.
“N-no your majesty, she was just left here” one of them answered her. She nodded as she held the babe, and turned to return to the castle.
“Then she shall need a mother” she said as she walked back holding the child. “And do not spread rumors saying I enjoy the taste of pony” she said glaring at the guard who said it, causing him to shiver as he stood there at attention. Then she proceeded to walk back into the castle. “So…what should your name be?” she asked and noticed a note as tucked in the blanket, pulling it out as she held the babe.
TO whoever finds my child,
Please I beg of you, whoever comes across her, do not abandon her. I could not take care of my little Scootaloo and only wish that whoever finds her can take care of her. Please…take care of my child…
Luna put the note aside and looked at little Scootaloo. She had been crying still, but Luna didn’t find this crying babes noise a bother. In fact, she loved it. It was a new life, one that she could help. One she was going to help.
“Perhaps you little Scootaloo, will be the first part of how I will redeem myself in Equestria” Luna said with a smile as she held her close, then began to sing for her.

Scootaloo’s crying died down as Luna sung to her, as if the song was a lullaby. Once the infant had fallen asleep, she smiled to the sleeping child, carrying her through the castle.
“Princess Luna? Is that a child?” one of the maids asked her as she walked towards her room.
“Yes…could thou have arranged for a crib to be placed in mine chambers?” she asked as she looked to her.
“O-Of course your majesty” the maid said bowing to her, before going to her duties. Luna then looked back to the child once more, loving the child more and more as she took her into her chambers. Luna lay onto the bed with her and held the child close to her, humming once more to her.
“We promise to be the proper mother thou needs” she whispered as she soon closed her eyes, holding the child close, casting a spell on her so she could have peaceful dreams.
A familiar form lay in the bed next to Luna and Scootaloo, one with a billowing mane that looked like the night sky. Her green slitted eyes looked to Luna as she held the babe close to herself. She couldn’t help but somewhat admire the view, the one she spent with a thousand years on the moon, holding a new life so close to her. Innocence holding onto the precious life, the beginning of innocence.
“So this is how you shall repent?” she quietly asked the sleeping Luna who didn’t stir. Though as she watched the sleeping ponies, she happened to notice that Scootaloo had began to stir, and began to whimper even. Nightmare Moon however leaned down and stroked the babes cheek gently, and began to sing her back to sleep the same song Luna sung to her before. Schootaloo soon fell back to sleep, and Nightmare Moon looked over to see Luna had not stirred. “Then…I believe I shall assist you with this…” Nightmare Moon whispered as she watched the two throughout the night.
