Celestia looked at the Chaotic being, regarding his words with uncertainty. "So basically, in your timeline..."

"that's why I did it, Celestia, Bringing the human here and turning him into a pony i mean"

"I see" Discord looked at the thinking sun-godess. "Discord... I want you to go to ponyville, disguised of course"

the mismatched spirit raised an eyebrow, but didn't question it. Things needed to go differently, They must go differently.

"before.... Before I leave there's..."

"Discord... just go"

Discord looked to the floor as he left. the images that he had been graced with from his timeline were mortifying to say the least. the mismatched being assumed the disguise of a small stallion unicorn, with red fur, and a dark gray mane, finally he settled on a nice suit. As he continued his journey to the station, he sighed, remaining stoic, concealing his true emotions was a difficult feat for him.

A flash of memory flew past his vision as he slowly drifted off to sleep on the friendship express.

Canterlot was in ruins, He had dug around looking for the elements of harmony. he found his own statue, smashed, defaced.

but what was next to it made his heart stop. he looked to the sun, noticing it had grown slightly colder and dimmer. "LUNA!" the mismatched being shouted as he reached the sisters. "no... Discord... its... too late" the small whisper, the soft voice of the slowly dying sun goddess was barely heard. "Sister... Please don't leave us... we are still in need thine guidance" Luna had reverted back to ye old canterlot, in a fit of panic. Discord knelt down and cradled the sun goddess's head in his paws.

"have you come to gloat?" Luna spat, clearly not noticing the look on Discord's face.

Celestia looked at the draconequus with a sad smile. "Discord, those tears... they aren't for me, are they?"

Discord nodded as he tried to hold them back. The chaotic being was finally broken.

"Celestia, I'm..."

"s..save it discord..." He grew silent as the alicorn slowly started to fade. He watched as the candle that was her life finally beginning to flicker.

the flame went out. Luna,in her anger turned to the draconequus and began to assault him with words. the words never reached his ears. he ran to the epicenter of the event and saw the elements, standing around the body of the lone human.

he could a lone voice crying out "Why You?" the voice was cracked and broken, tired, desperate and full of despair.

"Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong" the human spoke, in slight pain.

"stay with me, Joe!" the mare pleaded.

"s-sorry, Looks like," he coughed out an amount of blood, and with his last breath he finished his sentence. "I won't be able to take you to the beach like i promised". Silence fell.

Discord resigned himself to his fate. the element of chaos was thrown into a dark future in which he did not want to see.

but that wasn't all that was bothering him. we was a mis-understood being. but more than that... he was alone.

during his imprisonment he had watched the world go by. endlessly watching all of the ponies go about their business.

He then watched as celestia walked along with different ponies, talking as if they were old friends.

He knew then what he wanted. He wanted his freedom, only to give it all up.

Just to remain at her side when the time comes.

Discord woke with a start as a train attendant nudged him awake. "Excuse me sir, but the train has stopped"

Discord thanked the attendant and left the train.

He watched as a young mare left the library, with a small blush on her face. "Excuse me, miss, but do you know of a BubbleGum Crisis?" she squeaked and looked at Discord.

"h-he's in the library... Taking a shower" her blush deepened.

"thank you" with that, he stepped into the library and chose a book.

he waited.
