The sun glittered off the gently rippling water as the quietly rolling waves slid up onto the shore. Green and gold flags fluttered in the shifting breeze. The recent shower had left drips of chilly rainwater trickling down the swaying pines. This is the generic summer day in Equestria. Well, more like was the generic summer day in Equestria. This day, however, would change the history of the world forever.

Pegasi rocketed by the thatched roof of Cobalt's seaside cottage, knocking loose the carefully lodged cloth holding together the leaking holes.

"Brilliant, there goes another batch. Kiwi?" He shouted downstairs.

"WHAT?" Kiwi hollered back.

"Do we have any more cloth? The entire storm is coming through our roof again, and I think it's seeping into the food containers." Cobalt nudged a bag of flour, letting loose a sizable river of liquefied powder.

"Uh..." Several loud crashes echoed from the storeroom, followed by a rumbling of falling timbers and canvas, "I found a tent! Will that work?"

Cobalt paused, rubbing his hoof under his chin, "Tear it into shreds, and bring it up." Returning to his task, Cobalt began ferrying the torn cloth from the storeroom to the cascading fountains.

Later that day, the three friends wandered slowly between the tall trees of the Southwestern Shores. Looking further into their personalities, Cobalt could be called the leader, at age sixteen he usually led the activities. Penrose followed up at age 17. Kiwi identical to Cobalt at sixteen, just recently fifteen. They usually followed Cobalt around, as so they could be called his right hoof ponies.

“Ahhhhhhhh!” shouted Penrose. Cobalt and Kiwi ran over. Penrose had tripped over a small golden box.
