Chapter 1

When we first met, you ask? Well.. That was a while ago..

A scruffy, blue-maned unicorn rushes through the hall, knocking over a grey earth pony doing so.

"Rude ponies.." The grey pony, mutters. An aquamarine unicorn trots up to her.

"Are you okay? What happened?" The unicorn asks, helping up the grey pony. The pony shrugs.

"Somepony knocked me over, it is no big deal, really." She explains.

"Okey Dokey!" The unicorn smiles. "I'm Lyra!" Lyra grins, holding out a hoof for the earth pony to shake.

"Octavia." The earth pony smiles slightly, shaking Lyra's hoof. Lyra grins and starts bouncing up and down.

"I can't belive I've made a friend already! I've only been here 5 minutes! I wonder if we'll make lots of friends!" Lyra squeals. The pony's had just started at Fillydelphia Acadamy, and was making there way to there rooms. A derp-eyed pegasus was talking to a earth-pony with a time-turner cutie mark.

"So, your talent is time? Wow! I can't wait to find my cutie-mark!" She looks at her blank flank and frowns.

"Don't worry, Derpy, you'll find it." The earth-pony says in an obvious Trottingham accent. The pegasus, Derpy, smiles.

"You really think so, Time-Turner?" Derpy asks, hopeful.

"'Course I do! You.. You can.. Well.. You have the cutest smile and.. Um.. You know how to make me laugh and.."

"You don't have to say them things about me.." Derpy says.

"But they're true, Derpy. You also have the most adorable voice I've ever heard, ever." Derpy smiles.

"Really?"

"Of course.. You're also the prettiest pony I've ever laid eyes on." This makes them both blush violently.

A beige earth pony, quietly trotted down the hall.

"Room 1268? 1268.. 12- Ah! She opened the door and found 2 beds. "Roomate.." She mutters. This pony didn't exactly like being around other ponys..

A purple pegasus laughs and preforms as many tricks as she could in the hall.

"And then end with a-" She groans as she hits a column and falls to the floor.

"Cloud Kicker!" A pink unicorn rushes up to the purple pegasus. Cloud Kicker's eyes were closed and her tounge was sticking out. Her stomach didn't rise with her breaths. "Cloud Kicker!!" She shouts again. Cloud Kicker's eyes suddenly open and she pushes the unicorn to the ground. The pegasus laughs as she see's the unicorn clutching her heart.

"Ha! I got you again Amethyst!" The unicorn sticks her tounge out.

"I knew you were faking!" Amethyst lies.

"Ha! As if.."

A blue unicorn with a toothpaste like mane trots down the hall, looking for a pony to talk to. She trots to a plum-colored earth pony with a bunch of grapes and a strawberry cutie mark and a yellow pony with carrots as her cutie mark.

"Hey! I'm Colgate!" The blue pony grins

"Hi!" The plum pony smiles. "I'm Berry Punch and this is Carrot Top." Carrot top smiles and gives a small wave of her hoof.

"And I'm Daring Do!" A brown pony wearing an adventures hat says.

Yes, I know Daring Do isn't one of us "Background Ponies" but she went to Fillydelpha acadamy with the rest of us so she's kind of part of this story.

"Cool!" Colgate grins. She checks the time. "Woah, we better get to our rooms!" The other ponys agree and trot off towards the rooms.

The door opens in room 1268, startling the beige earth pony.

"Oh, hi! I'm Lyra. Lyra Heartstrings!" Lyra smiles, walking inside. "Who are you?!"

The beige pony looks up from a cookery book she was reading.

"Bon Bon.." She mutters.

"Oooh! Cool name!" Lyra smiles. When Bon Bon doesn't respond she sits and plays her Lyre. Bon Bon smiles at the sweet melody.

"Your music is beautiful.." Bon Bon whispers.

"Thanks!" Lyra grins. "What's your talent?"

"I'll show you." Bon Bon trots off into her rooms kitchen.

Already, in the room next door two pegasi were already hitting it off.

"So, whats up with your eyes?" Cloud Kicker asks the derp-eyed pony. Derpy looks away.

"I prefer not to talk about that.." She mutters.

"Okay, new topic. Can you do any cool tricks?"

"Well, I'm super clumsy 'cause of my derp eyes, so not really." Derpy sighs. "How abo-"

"I can do so many cool tricks! I'll show you when we have some more space!"

"Okay!"

Loud music blasts from next door. Octavia groans. "A loud roommate!? It's gonna be hell!" She thinks. The door opens and she gasps when she realises who her roommate actually is.

"V-vinyl Scratch!"

"That would be me." Vinyl says, switching off her music. "Why? You a fan?"

"Y-your the d-daughter of L-Love Song!" Octavia stutters, trotting around the unicorn. "I love her. The orchrestra that plays behind her beautiful, soft, voice, well her voice too.. Oh, it enchants me!" Octavia spins, dazed. Vinyl rolls her eyes.

"What does it matter?" She mutters. Octavia gasps.

"Love Song is a big deal! She's my role model! Do you do music like her? Oh, we could be in an orcrestra? Do you sing? Do you know who your dad is? Oh-"

"Would you shut up!" Vinyl snaps. Octavia frowns.

"Oh, sorry. I got a little lost then. And if you wanted me to be quiet then you didn't have to be so rude about it." Vinyl rolls her eyes. "Why do you not want me to talk about your mother?" Vinyl sighs.

"That's a long story.."

In the room next door, Berry Punch stared at Colgate.

"Wow.. Your teeth are shiny!" Berry Punch says. Colgate laughs.

"Didn't, I tell you!" Colgate grins.

"Too.. Shiny.." Berry Punch puts a hoof to her forhead, swirls her head around and falls backwards. She laughs and is soon joined by Colgate.

"I think we're gonna be great friends!" Colgate grins.

"Yeah!" Berry Punch agrees.

"Time? Boring!" Daring fakes a yawn. Her roommate, Time Turner, frown

"Trav'ling through time ain't no peice of cake!" Daring raises an eyebrow.

"Alright, Time Twister."

"How many times do I have to tell you, my name is Time Turner!" Time Turner growls. Daring rolls her eyes. Time Turner sighs. This year will be hell.
