One day this dude.... Pants, I think... was walking down the road. Pants had a life, you see. He didn't need dumb stuff like... PONIES. Oh, how he dreaded ponies. His colleagues were obsessed with ponies. They even called themselves... BRONIES. He shuddered at the thought. Well, since Pants had money and stuff, he did stuff, like read. Anyways, back to now. Pants was still walking down the road. He arrived at his house. It was a white, one-storied, suburban house, fitting for a boring old guy like Pants. He was about to walk into his home when he kicked a box carelessly left onto his steps. Figuring it was just some mail, he picked it up, then walked into his home.
He kept feeling the box shake. He set it down on the table, then grabbed a pair of scissors. He noticed some air holes on the side of the box. He opened it up. Inside sat a little butter-colored pony. He jumped back in surprise. Then, realizing what it was, he frowned and crossed his arms.
WHAT the HECK, Pants? Why'd I get a dumb pony in a box? Hey, maybe somebody will buy it off of craigslist. Grinning, he picked up the pony, who let out a squeak, and put it in the bathroom.
"Look, pony, I don't know who you are, or why you're here, but you aren't going to be living with me for long. Don't get too comfy," he said, before shutting the door. As he shut it, he heard a little squeak from within.
That's going to get annoying REALLY fast. He grimaced. He walked over to the table and popped open his laptop, then started typing into the search bar. Once he came across craigslist, he started typing an offer.
He smiled, satisfied with he work. Pants stood up, then walked over to the fridge to get a soda. Grabbing a Diet Something-Or-Other, he walked back over to the couch and flopped down on it, then turned on the TV. Shortly after, he heard an extremely loud SQUEAK erupt from the bathroom.
"Could you PLEASE be quiet, little pony beast? I'm trying to watch football. Thanks," he said loudly.
SQUEAK!
SQUEAAAAK!
SQUEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAK!!!
He sighed, then got up. He strolled over to the bathroom door and cautiously opened it. Inside, the foal was sitting exactly where he left it.
"Hey, please be quiet. If you want, you can come out of there... I guess." He opened the door a little wider, allowing the filly enough room to step out. She did so, then started walking around the room, looking at things with interest. He shrugged, then sat back down in front of the television, checking on the foal every few minutes to make sure that she wasn't destroying anything.
Pants sat on the floor in his kitchen, holding a tennis ball. He watched the young bright pastel colored pony with caution. Pants didn't really have much experience with animals. He threw the tennis ball, watching as it rolled up and gently hit the animal's foreleg. She squeaked. Again.
Pants thought back to the last hour. He had been on the computer again, IMing his friend.
Hey. I have a question. Relating to that pony show.
Oh! Do you watch it now? Ha, welcome to the herd. 
Ugh, no. Do you want to hear it or not?
Fine. But one day you will join. I can tell.
Okay. What's the name of the little yellow thing with wings?
That one is Fluttershy. Or if you're talking about non-mane characters, it could be Blaze, Misty, Dizzy Twister, Golden Glory, Lavender Skies, Parasol, Raindrops, Sandstorm, Strawberry Sunrise, Sunburst, Sunny Rays, Tracy Flash (also called Shutterfly), Yo-yo, Rainy Feather, and a whole bunch of unnamed characters.
It's probably called Fluttershy then. Thanks. Bye.
So... this little thing is called Fluttershy, he thought. He watched as the young mare hopped in place, looking at the tennis ball, then started pushing it around with her nose. Doesn't seem very shy to me. The baby was rolling the ball around in a circle, chasing after it. Also, Fluttershy? Why not call it Wussyflap?
He yawned, then stood up and walked over to the young mare. She stopped chasing the ball and looked up at him. He picked her up and set off for the garage.
He started looking for something to keep the filly in while he slept. Pants didn't want a baby having free range of the house while he was asleep. Little Fluttershy was currently walking around the garage close to his feet. She was sticking her nose into boxes and sniffing. Eventually Pants found a dog crate, and he once again picked the filly up off the floor and placed her into the crate, then carried her to his room.
Pants placed the box on the floor in front of his closet, then walked off to the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He then returned and flopped onto his bed then went to sleep.
