Everypony was in bed, everything was fine except for SugarCube Corner. Cupcake and Carrot Cake were going through their normal night time routine. “Pinkie Pie, time for you vitamin.” Cupcake sing songed seeing the pink mare run off like a lightning bolt “ Not this again, please Sweet Celestia let her cooperate for once ” Cupcake thought to herself. “Gotcha!” Carrot Cake shouted carrying Pinkie Pie to Cupcake who had Pinkie’s sleeping pill ready “Now just open up Pinkie.” “NEVER!” Pinkie yelled zipping off again making both Carrot and Cupcake groan and facehoof in frustration. “Oh great now we have to find her again.” Cupcake said not looking forward to the game of ‘hide and go seek’ than try and give Pinkie her sleeping pill before she runs off again. “Do you have any idea where Pinkie could have gone this time?” she asked Carrot Cake “No, I can’t think of were Pinkie went this time, but I do have a plan.” Carrot began “We take a cupcake and we just hide the pill in it.” “Carrot,that is genius! Why didn’t we try this before?” She said as she put Pinkie’s sleeping pill in one of the cupcake they had on display. “Oh whatever am I going to do with this cupcake? I’m so full I can’t even imagine of taking another bite.” Cupcake said dramatically. “Oh, a cupcake!” Pinkie shouted running towards the cupcake. She leaped in the air and ate the cupcake in one fell swoop right off Cupcakes hoof. Both Carrot and Cupcake gave sigh in relief only to see the pill laying on Cupcake’s hoof “Nice try but that trick died out when I was ten. You’ll need to think of something better if you even want to beat, The Pinkie!” Pinkie exclaimed ignoring the thumps that Carrot and Cupcake made when their jaws hit the floor “But thanks for the free snack!” Pinkie then ran off making Cupcake yell in frustration “Ugh! This is impossible.” Cupcake yelled at the top of her lungs “How can we get her to take this dumb pill!?” She screamed as she facehooved for the second time that night “Calm down, sugarplum, we can do this.” Carrot reassured his wife “But Carrot... This takes hours every night, I can’t keep doing this. Pinkie is going to put me in a early grave.” she said grimly ________________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile In Pinkie’s Hiding Area Pinkie let out a giggle snort as she normally would do “They will never find me here...” Pinkie let out another giggle as she turned on her flashlight looking at a photo album of her best and favorite memories “I remember this day, it was the day that the Cakes adopted me and I went from being Pinkamena Diane Pie,” Pinkie let out a small giggle into her hoof.” to my adoptive name Pinkie Pie Cake.” Pinkie then started looking at a picture of the first time she tried baking giggling at Cupcake’s face Pinkie let out a sigh remembering all of the things that had happened over the years and how it took the Cakes two hours to get her to go into the school. She had only been living with them for three months and was anti-social; it took them a month to get the hyperactive filly to even leave Sugar Cube Corner, but when they did she met one of her best friends that day, AppleJack. Pinkie looked at a picture of a little play date that both her and AppleJack had. Both of the fillies were covered in mud, giggling and having fun. Pinkie wiped a tear of joy from her eye looking at all her happy memories “I miss those times... Oh lookie! My first school picture” Pinkie said smiling Pinkie then saw a photo that brought even more tears to her eyes, it was the first family photo that her and the Cakes had taken; they had all gotten dressed up for the photo. _________________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile With The Cakes: “I can't take it anymore. Every night with Pinkie... I give up!” Cupcake shouted almost to the point of breaking down in tears “I know, Cupcake, I know... Let’s just wait, maybe if we put it in a glass of juice she will fall for it.” Carrot said trying to calm his sobbing wife with a weak smile “But you have to remember, she never got to have fun in her childhood. She’s just trying to make up for her childhood...” “Carrot, we’ve been doing this for years now and we still have not found out a trick to get her to take that stupid sleeping pill.” Cupcake said now calming down “Where does she disappeared to every night? We check everywhere from the kitchen to the rooms, and even to the basemant and we never even get close. Ii give up on Pinkie, she can do whatever she wants...” There was a long awkward silence. Carrot could not think of anything to say to calm down help his wife and even found himself agreeing with some of the things she said. After a few moments of this Pinkie walked up to them both. “I'll take my sleepy pill now.” Pinkie said with a smile. Both Carrot and Cupcake go into a visible state of shock “Umm, Pinkie, not to be rude but... What’s the catch to this?” Cupcake asked in both shock and disbelief “We still have an hour left before we give up and go to bed ourselves” “Yeah, Pinkie, she’s right. What made you change your mind? I mean it’s not that we aren’t happy that you are cooperating this time but... What made you suddenly want to tale the pill?” Carrot asked coming out of his state of shock “Well you both took me in when I had nowhere else to go, and even went out on a limb and adopted me... you’re like the mother and father I never had... I went into my secret hiding area and looked at some old photos, and wel... I found this one.” Pinkie said as she showed the two a picture of their first family photo they took together “P-Pinkie, you kept this picture all of these years? Carrot and myself thought you had lost it, seeing as we could never find it whenever we clean up your room.” Cupcake stated “She’s right, Pinkie, I have never found it or seen it until today.” “Well it was a family photo and I wanted to keep it safe so it would not get damaged.” Pinkie said as she took a sip of water and swallowed the sleeping pill that was on the display shelf, the same one that she had avoided eating moments ago. “Oh Pinkie, we love you so much, never forget that!” Cupcake said as she pulled Pinkie into a hug “Yes, Pinkie, we love you like our own flesh and blood. You are like our own child, but I know one thing. Pound and Pumpkin are lucky to have such a great big sister” Carrot said as he joined the hug Pinkie felt a tear rolling down her cheek, she knew that this was not just some adoptive family, it was her family “I love you too mom and dad!” Pinkie replied.
