Nightmares of the Darkness
I do not own My Little Pony. I do not own Story of the Blanks. The only things I own are some coming-up OCs in Chapter 5.
Applejack walked into her sister's bedroom. After going out with Twilight to the Everfree, Applejack had noticed that Apple Bloom just hadn't seemed right.
"Apple Bloom, do ya think you're goin ta be alright?"
Apple Bloom looked up at her big sister. "Oh, hello Applejack. I'm gonna be just fine sis!"
Applejack looked doubtful, but left. Apple Bloom sighed. She got out of bed and walked out into Ponyville. Slowly, she walked near the Everfree. She could see its darkest depths, but barely. Sunny Town, what other secrets are you keeping from me? she thought. Sunny Town had haunted her life ever since the incident.
Mostly she felt for the townsponies. Had they been cursed? Or had the strange affliction been brought on by something evil that they had done before? She knew these were probably big thoughts were a filly and she should tell an adult, but what would she say? Hey Applejack, ah just want to tell ya that ah went to a mysterious town and got attacked by zomponies."
Yeah, that would go over real well.
The darkness of the Everfree didn't show much but some stray animals. When Apple Bloom looked deep enough, she could see hoofprints, one set far apart from each other, and several that looked like the owners had lurched shakily. She shivered just remembering what had put these here.
Nightmares of the Darkness
Ruby lay in the depths of the Everfree She wondered how her friend Apple Bloom was doing.
Taking her thoughts off of Apple Bloom, she turned her thoughts to memories. Her last living memory was of her death, the zomponies turning to shadow behind her.
But now, that would all change. Revenge was not the answer. The solution was the problem. Because the ponies of Sunny Town did not communicate with any other ponies, they hadn't known what cutie marks were so had thought they were being marked for death. They decided to kill any pony that got this mark to make it easier. The practices of killing ponies had activated the curse of ancient times, making them zomponies. Everypony that had went to an execution or taking part had been cursed. Ruby had gotten the mark a few days after one of her friends.
Her friend's execution was the day after Ruby got her mark. Ruby decided to run on that very day. She made it pretty far and almost got to Ponyville. Ruby wasn't missed because her parents were already gone. She camped out deep in the forest. She had hoped that she wouldn't be found.
The zomponies found her a few hours after. She had ran as fast as she could, but not fast enough. She had tripped over a fallen root. Zomponies had started coming from all directions. The mayor of the town had done the job. Ruby couldn't
