A new world of... what?
Load Full StoryA new world of... What?
It was a bright, sunny day for Ponyville. Ponies filled the streets, butterflies fluttered throughout the air. All was calm after the chaos that ensued when Pinkie Pie decided to clone herself a few times.
The sun’s rays had found a resting spot in the window belonging to a certain cottage in the outskirts of Ponyville. Inside the room lie a cute, lovable young pegasus known as Fluttershy.
The light flowing into her room had disturbed her sleep, causing her to wake up, feeling very tired. She lightly rubbed her eyes with her hooves and flapped her wings to fly out of bed. She began fluttering around her cottage, opening up the windows to let the fresh air in. However, when she got to the window that pointed towards Ponyville, she saw a strange, pink, magical wall along the path towards the quiet little town.
Confused, she placed her hooves on the window to try and get a closer look. Not being able to find anything different, she shrugged it off and went downstairs to get some breakfast. She placed a bowl on the dining table, and looked through one of her cupboards, and decided on a box of Harmony Charms, now 20% more harmonically delicious! She grasped the box between her teeth, and flew back over to the table, tilting her head to pour the cereal into the bowl.
She began thinking about the strange wall again, and spaced out for a minute. Snapping back into reality, she realized the bowl was overflowing with Harmony Charms, and pulled her head back, also spilling Harmony Charms all over her floor.
Angel, hearing something happening, hopped over to the kitchen, looking at the mess his caretaker had made. He simply stood up, raised an eyebrow, and hopped away.
Fluttershy watched the bunny, feeling embarrassed that something had saw her mess up like that. She pushed most of the Harmony charms off of the bowl, leaving just the perfect amount for a nice breakfast. She then began to clean up the rest of the cereal from the floor and table, tossing it away afterwards.
She figured she would have to eat her cereal dry, as horrible as it is, she didn’t want to risk spilling milk all over the place. She was about to dive in to the bowl, but before her mouth had reached the bowl, she remembered, she forgot the spoon! She opened a drawer, pulling out a spoon, before realizing she had no idea how to eat with it.
She shrugged and went back to chowing down on the cereal. After she had finished the last of the delicious, magically colorful marshmallows, she pulled her face away from the bowl, picking it up with her mouth, and pouring the bowl into the sink and promptly cleaning it out. After all, who eats the little brown stuff?
She tossed some saddlebags onto her back, and trotted out the front door of her cottage. She had to hide her eyes from the sun, as her eyes weren’t yet adjusted to the sunlight. She walked over to the magical wall, tilting her head and studying it. After a few deep breaths, she backed up and ran forward, jumping into the wall, as a strange feeling washed over her body.
Fluttershy woke up feeling rather strange, as if her legs were missing. She had apparently fallen over after jumping through that barrier of pink and wasn’t able to stand up. She then remembered she had wings and lifted herself up, and upon looking down, realized something definitely wasn’t right.
She had been turned into a window shutter.
She gasped, and tried to jump back in fear, but just ended up falling over. Her wings trapped under her strange new body, she was unable to get up, and was only able to spin around on the ground.
She called out for help, and all was silent for a few moments, until a large, god-like figure flew above her. It had a halo floating above its head, along with bunny ears and a tiny bunny-nose. It sighed before lifting her up onto its back.
She clung onto it with her wings, which were luckily long enough to stretch around the front of her body and wrap around its chest. She stayed quiet, thinking about whom… or what, the figure could be. Her eyes stretched open in realization. “Angel?” She asked the bunny-god.
It simply nodded, and began floating along the path to Ponyville. Or at least, what she thought was Ponyville. In this strange new plane that she had entered, she wondered if there were any ponies at all. She was already quite confused at what she had become, she could only wonder at what her friends would be…
An orange bowl of applesauce, which was wearing a tiny little cowboy hat, for whatever reason, was wiggling itself across the pathways of Ponyville. ‘Strange name… What’s a pony, anyways?’ The bowl thought to itself. Its intended destination was the library in the middle of town, which in all honesty was a strange place for a library. It didn’t even look like one! It was just a tree.
Upon arriving at the library, it pushed itself against a button at the base of the door. The button had been made for all of the librarian’s… Tinier friends. Such as Applesauce, the bowl of, well, applesauce. Applesauce was actually female, not an ‘it’, which was strange, as it would be very difficult to tell the gender of a bowl of applesauce.
After a few quick moments, the librarian opened the door. She was a tall, lavender spork with purple hair.
“Oh, hello Applesauce! How have you been?” The spork asked her delicious looking friend.
“Oh, Ah’ve been doing mighty fine Ms. Sporkle. Hey, would you happen to know where Fluttershutter’s been? Ah haven’t seen here in a few days…” Applesauce replied, worry in her voice.
“I’m sure she’s fine. She has trouble getting around, that’s for sure, but I think she’s fine.” Twilight Sporkle tried to reassure her friend.
“Alrighty then. Ah reckon I should be lookin’ for her myself… That pretty little shutter worries me sometimes…”
“Okay… Well, hopefully you can find her!”
“I hope so too, Twi...” The bowl tilted her hat, and wiggled away from the tree. ‘Fluttershutter, you better have not gotten yourself into any trouble…’
