Chapter 5 – History Lesson

Rainbow Dashes POV

I had to get out of that room, I felt so guilty. He had saved my life and I did not even need to thank him. He acted like he was just helping out a friend. He saved my life for no reason at all; he could have just left me there to die. I owed him my life, and I know it. He acted like nothing had happened at all, like this was all just a bad dream for him.  This “human” as he called himself was, was different than anypony I had ever known.  I walked down into the living room where everyone else was sitting.

“So, what did he want to tell you”, twilight asked?

“He wanted to know if my wings work, and also what his hair color was.”

Everyone started laughing.

“Rainbow Dash, I come here and look at this,” twilight asked her.

I walked down and sat next to her and I nearly fainted. There was a picture of a creature that looked almost exactly like Matt. The title of the page was,” The Legend of the 4th Tribe”. “wha, what is this?” I was shocked.

“I was just about to start reading it”

“Go ahead twilight, I want to hear this”

She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Pinkiepie.

“DOES HE LIKE PARTYS, OR CUPCAKES”

“Well, he was asleep the last time I saw him, so you should probably bake him a batch after Twilight is done with her story.” I said

“Well, can I start or not?”

“YES,” we all yelled

History of the humans

Long ago, even before the time of Equestrias founding, there were 4 tribes. The Earth pony’s, masters of the land and nature. The Pegasus, masters of the sky and weather, And of course the Unicorns, masters of magic and of course, the most powerful and smartest of the tribes, the Humans. The humans were masters of the elements; they had the power to control lightning, fire, earth, water and air. Some of the most powerful could even control life and death. Together with the 3 other tribes, they helped lead to peace and harmony. The humans showed the tribes how to make doors, windows, houses and even how to play music. It was a time of great prosperity and peace, But it was not to last, for a war broke out between the humans and the 3 other tribes shortly after the founding of Equestria. The war lasted for 10 years, and after that time the humans were defeated. The 3 tribes banished them to the highest mountains and the deepest woods in all of Equestria. Peace then followed for almost 25 years exactly, when a handful of humans stumbled into Canterlot. They explained that they were the last of their tribe, that all others were dead. A bloody civil war had been fought over an artifact that would have granted them the power of immortality, but alas it was destroyed in the fighting. Princes Luna and Celestia used their powers to transport the remaining humans to another Dimension

And the humans began to be forgotten. At the 200th anniversary of when the humans left, 1 showed up. His name was Hercules. He was more powerful than anything the princess or anyone else could have imaged. Nothing could kill him, and nothing could stop him. He rampaged the land for nearly 1 full year. But the strangest thing of all happened when he attacked Canterlot. He was about to kill the princess Luna, when he vanished without reason, and he never came back. Equestria had nearly been destroyed by a single creature. So, the princess’s decided to wipe the minds of everypony of anything to do with humans, so no one could remember the horror of what happened. But, 1 other showed up. This time, the human was ultimate good. He saved Equestria from a horror that was so horrible, that no one can ever know what it was, to save the land from collapsing in on its self from panic that it might return. And like his alter ego, he disappeared and never came back. And a human has never showed up since.

Human abilities-

Humans were the most powerful of all the races because they could control the elements themselves, as described in the last chapter. Each human had the ability to control 1 of the elements, and you could usually tell by the color of their hair. Blue meant Lightning, Red meant Fire, Green meant Water, Brown meant Earth, and of course Yellow meant Air. And just like there elements, each human had his own unique personality. Humans were also incredibly strong, able to lift 5 of what a pony could. But for all their strengths, they also had weaknesses. Humans were usually very weak to the element opposite of their own. For example, lightning was weak to water, and water weak to lightning and earth, earth was to fire as water was to fire and so on. Needless to say, if 1 should ever appear, hope that it is an honorable human, and not the destroyer of our world.

Twilights POV

No pony was breathing. I could not believe my ears. The 1st to speak was AJ.

“Your tellen mah that… that thing up there helped found Equestria?”

“You know that his name is not “thing,” its Matt.” Rainbow Dash said rudely

The room suddenly got quiet and really awkward. All of a sudden, spike, who was sitting next to me, coughed and a letter popped out.

“Who’s it from” asked Rarity

“It’s from Princess Celestia , I sent her a letter explain what happened about 5 minutes ago, I’m surprised she sent one back already”

“Well, open it and see what it says.”

Dear Twilight Sparkles,

Thank you so much for writing me. I will be in Ponyville in 15 minutes with 4 guards and also Luna. PLEASE try to keep him calm and DO NOT LET HIM LEAVE THE HOUSE UNDER NO CONDITIONS.

I look over at the rest of the ponies and they all have strange looks on their faces. AJ looks really confused and keeps staring at RD. RD has a look on her face that reminds me of guilt. Rarity is trying to pretty herself up before the Princess arrives. Fluttershy looks exhausted and tired and Pinkiepie looks like she is about to cry. This is the most awkward moment I have ever been in.  We were saved by a knock at the door. I opened the door and everyone bows down to welcome Princess Celestia.

“Take me to him, if you may”

I gulped; I had never seen her like this before. Luna and the guards come on and Luna gives me a little wink that makes me feel a little better. We all go up the stairs and open the door to the room…
