Civil war breaks out in Equestria,and these are letters from a New Lunar Republic soldier named Grape Vines. Through out the war he always tried to keep in contact with his brother Red Wine, whom lives in the outskirts of Manehattan and favors Celestia over Luna.

These letters contain the thoughts and experiences of Grape Vines, though he was unable to create a great picture of how things were he still describes the events and experiences to give you a better understanding of what happened during the Equestrian Civil War,
