Chapters Just like any other day of the week, Corbin arrived home from an exhausting day at school. "What's for dinner, dad?" he said. "The same thing we always have; your choice of pasta" said his dad. "Ok, ill be right there" said Corbin. Corbin did not have a mother, but his dad always comforted and consoled him when he needed it.
Corbin gave his father a hug, and sat down to eat. "So dad, what did you do today?" Corbin said. "Well, I didn't really have the best business like other days, but I did make a little money" said his dad. Corbin's dad was an accountant, so he really did not have that much business due to the economy. They both ate in silence afterwards, Corbin with pasta and garlic, and his dad with pasta and tomato sauce.
After dinner and Corbin's routine chores, Corbin went to his room. As a lover of all card games, Corbin had bought decks of yugioh and Magic: The Gathering in the past and planned to exchange the cards he had in his decks. I really want to put this dark magician in my deck, but the summoning cost is a little high. he thought.
He couldn't decide whether to include the dark magician inside of his deck, so he just laid the card to the side. Man, I wish that there was a more entertaining thing that I could be doing. I guess I could look at my Magic deck. After a few minutes of sifting through his cards with no success, he turned on his computer and went to youtube to try to find something to do.
Hmm.. I remember my weirder friends telling me something about magic ponies with friendship or something. Out of curiosity, he searched: ponies. What video he then watched would change his life forever.
-
The first video he saw was of a well in front of a pine forest. It was in black-and white and seemed devoid of any emotion or action. It eerily reminded himself of his life in some twisted way, but that only made him more curious. The screen was flickering and scratchy in the video, and he saw some pink shape flicker on the edge inside of the well. What was a flickering turned into a colorful pink pony jumping out of the well and walking to the camera's point of view.
The pink pony exclaimed "Hi! My name is Pinkie Pie and I want to have fun with you!" Huh. I guess this is more interesting than playing with my decks. he thought. After about 5 seconds of him staring at the screen blankly, The pony started again. "Wow, you must have trouble responding to other ponies." This comment struck him by surprise, and out of the deepest depths of his mind, he thought Could this pony actually be talking to me?
The next thing that happened would take him by surprise and make him question life itself. The party pony said "Of course Im talking to you! Here, take my hooves." What does she mean by that and why can she talk to me? Were the only things on his mind at that very moment, before two pink front legs shot forward and impossible speed, surrounded him, and then dragged him into the screen.

All he could remember was coming out of a lake and feeling a little nauseous. What just happened? Oh man, I feel like I just ate 3 servings of pasta. Wait a minute, what is this place? he wondered. There were colorful butterflies and birds that sang like they were in a chorus. This better not have to do with that pony video...or whatever that was! he demanded mentally. "Hi! You must be new to Ponyville! I'll show you around" said pinkie.
Damn it! he said under his breath, while face palming out of pure frustration. Wait a minute. That face palm hurt a lot more than it used to...oh well. It must that the dimension I just crossed gave me a headache. Corbin was very knowledgable on quantum physics, and he decided that it was just some sort of impossible wormhole that happened to be on his computer and then somehow sucked him into a mysterious pony society.
Come to think of it, my voice sound a little different too. Oh well, better just find a way out of here. He tried to get up, but found that he was off balance and fell to the ground. That's weird, my front is a lot clumsier than I remember. So then he decided to support himself with his front legs to stand up.
He got up, and thought This seems surprisingly comfortable to do. Hm, I have some more grip that I remember. Wait. Why cant I grab anything? He looked down to his hands and discovered they had been replaced with hooves. Oh no! Due to my over analytical brain, I have to guess that my entire body is now a pony! Pinkie just looked at him for the all of time he was doing whatever he was doing.
"Ummm..Hi?"
It wasn't always laughter
"Pinkamena." her father started. "What is this abomination?" "Suprise!" Pinkie exclaimed."It's called a party. They are the most funnest things in the whole world!" At this age, Pinkie was not very much aware of what was happening around her or any sort of unspoken intention mentioned. In other words, the world had not yet corruted her innocent nature. "Today I learned what true laughter was, daddy!" Pinkie said. "And, I want to share it all with you!" Pinkie's family cautiously approached the "abomination" and followed Pinkie's instructions on how to participate in the party games.
However, Pinkie's mom fell and twisted her ankle on the dance floor, her two sisters started to complain about the music, and her father could not tolerate the sickeningly sweet cupcakes and ran to the bathroom. After about fifteen minutes, her family regrouped and started to talk to Pinkie. "Those cupcakes, is that what you call them?" "YEA!" "Well, they were unlike anything I would ever need to eat any day; only a sinner could enjoy such foods." said her father. "How can you say that moving, while not working, can be a fun thing? Only a lazy person could be content to spend their time and energy scuttling around on the floor, Pinkie." said her mom. After the complaint of unnecessary and abnoxious sound from her sisters, Pinkie felt truly alone and hurt. The mark on her flank didn't help her problem either. "Pinkie, we just want to raise you like a proper child, and we would like you to not do this to us again." When her father said that, he spoke for everyone. Almost everyone.
After her family realized that had been her destiny, her father told her it could not be allowed in that family, which devastated Pinkie again. Then, her mother mentioned that she could live out her life and destiny in ponyville, a town not too rich or poor, and just the right size."So you can ignore your destiny here or live in a nudist hick colony called Ponyville" her father stated.
Pinkie, with tears in her eyes, ran up and hugged her father. He had always been supportive of me and loved me, thought Pinkie. Why is he acting this way now?
For the next month until Pinkie's departure, she spent time working and talking with her family, trying to make the last few moments memorable in a good way. But all too soon, the Ponyville train arrived at the station and she quickly boarded the train. Soon after her last distant goodbyes to her parents, Pinkie slumped in her chair and started to wonder what life really was about.
The time arduously passed in her cabin, and for the first time of her life, looked at the stars outside in wonder. A star. If I could only look at one star, how could I ever know of such a beautiful array of many stars in the sky? What if when Luna crafted the sky such a long time ago, she had to start one star at a time? Then, what I am looking at is a beautiful masterpiece that must have taken more ambitions and designs than I could ever come up with. Then again, how did Princess Luna feel when she crafted each individual star? Maybe she could see past a result of a star, if it didn't twinkle as bright as the others. Or, maybe she would cherish and appreciate each star that shined bright with a brilliant flare. Then, without warning, the moon shone brilliantly and a soothing, cool voice entered her head. "Yes, my dear Pinkie. Making the night sky was just like your life. You just need to do one thing at a time, with a plan for the future. Also, take your own advice. Move past this hard time in your life and focus on the better and happier things that come your way." Pinkie seemed a bit confused, but the voice started again before she could question it. "The laughter you bring is not eternal, but it drives away undesired things and helps you to improve the present. Time is a gift, Pinkie. The gift from no one. Your time on this world is yours for the taking."
Pinkie made the perfect philosopher Sweetie Belle face, but then felt the inanimate comfort of the night, and drifted away to sleep, resting in the fetal position.
The pony that mystifyed corbin had led him into a town filled with bustling ponies. The surrounings seemed a little too perfect, like they had been planned. "How is this possible?" he asked. "Oh, the pegasus ponies planned this all out. They control the weather, silly." She must have not meant what she said. How can ponies control the weather? Just then, a pony in the sky moved a few clouds to make shade over a cafe. This must not be real. Okay. Quick recap about what just happened. I got pulled into my computer by a pony, the laws of physics have changed, and I am now following something that should not exist in nature. The walk seemed to last a few minutes before they finally arrived at a bakery.
"Here it is! Sugarcube corner. You can probably find me here if you don't see me frolicking around ponyville, or having fun with my friends, or throwing a party....." Corbin tuned out for a minute, distracted by the pleasing aroma that came from the oven. Come to think of it, this pony wore the same scent.
"And then," said Pinkie " I threw a big party for my friends!" Corbin could only agree with her because he had spent about five minutes thinking about the wonderful aura emanating off of the oven. Later, much to his surprise, Corbin would share this bakery with a pink ball of joy. However, Corbin could only agree with Pinkie that what she did with her friends was in fact, amazing. "Hey, do you like cupcakes?" said Pinkie. I guess it is something different than pasta. "Sure Pinkie, why not. Everyone likes cupcakes."
The pony laughed and smiled for the tenth time today, due to her happy disposition, and said "I wish other people thought that way too," and then frowned. She remembered the time when she got her cutie mark.
"Surprise! It's called a party!" Her family that had been brought into the silo only could stare in awe of her creation.
