Voice in the Darkness

Ch.1 Twilight of the moon light

"Where did this blizzard came from!?" spoke a purple female unicorn as she cast a spell to shield her from the strong icy winds "It just came of nowhere!"

"Hold strong Twilight!" yelled a powerful alicorn as she blasted the blizzard away with one strong beam of magic.
Twilight was speechless as she could see the night sky once again, all thanks to Princess Luna and her powerful magic.

"Princess! That was amazing!" called out Shining Armor, as he and his men were able to catch up to the unicorn and the Princess "Thanks to you, we can make to the Northstar camp in no time."

Luna nodded and took point as the group of twenty continued on.

Twilight walked up to her and spoke "So why did you summon me out here again?"

Armor look back and answered "Cadance been hearing...something...ever since Northstar research team went dark last night. The company CEO reported that the last thing sent to their crystal, were...whispters..." Armor looked up and started to sweat slightly "I need you along because lets face it, you're the egg head here and this is right up your alley, if its magic base."
Twilight mumbled as she tried to understand what she as told. She turned forward and stared at Luna, who was still taking point "...and the princess?"

"To be honest, I have no idea why she's here? She appeared a few hours before you arrived and somehow knew about the events." replied Armor as he too, stared at the princess "I think she knows what's truly going on here but wouldn't tell me...just..."

"She just spoke with Cadance, right?" quickly said Twilight.

"Yeah...like she knew what was going on too...but tried to hide it..." said Armor in a worried tone.

The siblings stopped talking as Luna shouted to them and the others, that they have arrived. Below them, was a temple and ruin old houses and tents with lights scattered them.
As they entered the base camp, they all noticed something on the outside of the tents and around it...

"Sir, this that...blood?" asked one unicorn knight as she readies her horn for battle.
Armor step closer to a dark stain on the tent but to him, it didn't look like blood but...the same time, it did? He ready himself as he opened the tent but only to find nothing but a sleeping bag.
"Whatever happened here, isn't around here right now. Honey Wave, secrure the area and...huh?" said Armor as he stopped and notice Luna had a dark aura around her.

Luna's aura faded away and faced the group "The very air is thick with...magic corruption...the void..."
Everypony looked at each other in confusion, until Twilight spoke up.
"Huh, princess...what are you talking about?"
"Long ago, my race fought against a "sickness". A sickness that can corrupt all forms of magic, inclucding my magic, the night mana. My people called this sickness "The Void". We must stop this sickness before it can spread any further..." Luna stopped as she feels something coming towards them from the shadows "Everypony, get ready! It comes!"

Everypony stood ready as a lone unicorn walked out from the shadows but it's eyes bleeding with blackness and its horn oozing out smoke.
Twilight and the others looked on in horror as the creature spoke to them within their minds.
"Little things...you have the rotten stench of the creator upon you, just like..." before it could finish, it vanishes and reappeared near Luna and tried to attack her but the princess was too fast, as she blasted the creature away with her magic "...The Shadow Walker here!"
"Shadow Walker?" said Twilight as she watches as Luna picked up the creature and torn it in half with her magic.
"You shall not speak of my people, fallen one!" shouted Luna as she crushes the head of the dead unicorn.
"You have gained nothing, little Shadow Walker...for this is nothing but a shell..." Whispered the same voice "...and I have more to spare!"
Suddenly, the snow covered ground risen up as more infected unicorn appeared and started to attack the group. Most of Armor men were taken down with one blow and becoming infected as well. Luna ordered the rest to head to the temple for safely as she held back the attackers. As the group entered the temple, Luna shuts the doorway with her magic but before she did, she spoke to Twilight within her mind "Twilight, head to the heart of the temple and stop whatever awaken the sickness!"
Twilight turned and watched as Luna shut the doorway and was only blackness. She lit the area with her horn and the remaining group did the same.

"Princess...Okay everypony, we need to head to the center of the temple and stop whatever going on here." said Twilight as she scanned the area.
Her brother agreed and with the remaining four knights, two groups were form. Armor leading one group, headed off to the left side tunnel, while Twilight and her group headed off to the right.

"Be careful sis..." hugged Armor
"Same with you bro..." hugged back Twilight

Both teams went on their way. Twilight group head further down their tunnel but soon found dead bodies of the research crew. They were badly torn apart by somepony, maybe the infected?
"I bring peace to those who know only suffering!" spoke the voice within their minds "I bring purpose to those who lack direction. I bring the concealment of shadow for those who can't stand the light..."
As they went further into the temple, Twilight group was attacked by the infected. First to go was Honey Wave as she was jumped from the darkness and taken way into it. They could still hear bloody screams as they kept going.
"For I was cast down by the Light and Shadow Walkers. They feared my truth! My love!"
Next was a Unicorn knight to go, as he deflected a magic beam from another infected unicorn, but in doing so, he was left open to get stabbed in the back by another unicorn and her horn. Twilight ran as fast as she could, as she kept hearing the cries for help and the dark voice.
"The Love that rivals our creator. Her love can't be match, but I dare to try. Her choice...to show love to us...her choice..."
Twilight could hear the sadness in the dark voice as she kept going down the tunnel, taking whatever path she could see.
"...to suffer...her lost...she took it all in and created all, to show others what love was..."
Twilight finally came to a stop as she finally came across the heart of the temple. Standing before her was a huge crystal and a machine hook up to it. Seemed the machine was feeding something into it.
"What friendship was..."
Twilight stared in shock and fear, as two bright red eyes formed within the crystal.

"Only for her, to forever dream about it...ONLY TO CRY IN THE DARKNESS!" screamed the voice as Twilight was shallowed by the voice and its darkness.

"...her choice...her choice..."
Within the darkness, Twilight could hear crying. It sounded like a filly. Sounded like she was suffering greatly.

"It hurts..." cried the filly voice
