Octavia Comes Through

My first story hooray! I have finally gotten around to writing my first story so I would appreciate some constructive feedback on what you guys think.

Vinyl Scratch is currently living with her roommate Octavia, however they have been arguing quite a bit recently. After Vinyl messes up an event in Ponyville Octavia is fed up with her but Vinyl quickly gets into trouble and only Octavia can save her.

I will upload more chapters as I write them and I don't plan on having too many unfinished stories going on at once.

Octavia Comes Through

Waking Up

Vinyl opened her eyes only to squeeze them shut again from the light streaming through her window. Her hearing was all disjointed from the pounding headache she was currently suffering. Through the din of her alarm she could hear her room mate Octavia banging on the her bedroom door and shouting, "Vinyl! shut that stupid alarm off!" She blinked her eyes several times to clear her head of sleep before finally shutting off her droning alarm clock. Vinyl uttered a huge yawn as she heard Octavia in the hallway sigh "finally she wakes up." There was no sound of leaving hoof steps so Vinyl crawled out of bed, yawned, and headed towards the door and unlocked it. The door swung inwards, revealing a light gray earth pony standing in front of her, Octavia did not have her trademark pink bow around her neck and her long dark mane was ruffled from a rough night's sleep. Her roommate glared at her with her purple eyes that had dark marks under them "Vinyl I thought you would be doing the dishes at this time." She said with a obvious hint of exhaustion in her voice. "Aw sorry there Tavi, I was just so tired, I'll get right on them." Octavia gave Vinyl the look she always gave her when she used Octavia's pet name, which she never liked. "Oh it's quite alright Vinyl I'll give you the morning off and I will take care of the dishes." Octavia turned around and walked down the hallway and headed downstairs, as Vinyl re-entered her room and closed the door before walking over to her full length mirror.

Her reflection stared back at her as she examined her appearance in the mirror. She stood there examining her reflection, her white fur coat was ruffled from the busy night and her two tone blue mane had lost some of its slick spiky look. Vinyl's white unicorn horn poked through the bangs of her hair that hung over the face, just over her brilliant eyes that were dark purple in color. She quickly brought her hair forward and smoothed out her coat and tail with some brief magic. Once she was finally satisfied with her appearance she crossed over from the mirror to retrieve her ever present pair of sunglasses before trotting off downstairs to breakfast.
