The Great Changeling Incursion
36th Day of Winter, The Year Of Our Princess 1584 AD
We moved through Fillydelphia today, well whats left of Fillydelphia. The Changelings took and destroyed the city months ago, now only remnants of conversion pods and Changeling goo remain. Its a Celestia-Damned ghost town and everypony knows it, the only reason we were ordered through this place is for the final assault on Canterlot.
Canterlot...shit. We all know what happened there, but none of us want to relive it. We all saw the swarm take over the mountain top, we all heard the stories of Luna's last stand in order to let her older sister escape...we all know what we saw, but none of us want to believe it.
We were nearing the train station, that was our objective. Manehattan, Fillydelphia, and Baltimare were all being advanced on by the unicorn batallions. We were ordered to take the train stations and prepare for the assault. On the opposite side of the country, the Earth Shakers, a whole platoon of heavy duty earth ponies, were taking the stations in Yanhoover and Las Pegasus.
It was a last ditch effort for us, one last push to reclaim our city, our jewel. Sadly, the Changelings knew this. they were going to do everything to stop us...and we couldn't stop them from finding out, Sure, we had spells that rendered Changeling magic innate, but the buggy bastards adapted...they still had spies among us.
How do I know this? Well, they were waiting for us at the damn train station! We went into that dark rundown place, it was an old evac center, and that showed. There weren't just conversion pods in there, no...there were corpses. Rotten, maggot infested corpses. Foals, the elderly, the sick and thee lame. They couldn't be converted, so they were slaughtered and left to rot...that was if they weren't taken and tortured for their love.
Sick bastards, these changelings. Monsters.
All I remember after that was the commander, screaming "Buggers, inbound!" Then the sharp retorts of magic discharging from horns, wings buzzing and hissing. Battle is never easy, I learned that back at Neighgra Falls...It's chaotic...dangerous and confusing. Ponies get hurt and die, and a lot of the time we don't know whose fault it is. A shame...a terrible, terrible shame.
After a few minutes of the chaos...and a Changeling or two getting splattered right by me...it was over. Thankfully, none of our squad went down, there were some bite marks and burns, but no casualties....for once. Though I would count by golden coat and dark brown mane getting covered in bright green blood a casualty.
Somewhere, somehow, Captain Shining Armor just saw I wrote that and is laughing at me. I can feel it.
