Memories are something you can't just toss away. Memories are something that you can try to forget but they will always be there. The good and the bad will always be there. But some ponies don't accept this. It can allow the bad memories to take root and change them into something they are not.

"Ugh! Got to get ready!" Twilight panicked looking at the clock. It was almost time for him to be here. Not only that it was almost time for her twenty-first birthday party. There were decorations and streamers already.
Spike has been watching this all day, "Twilight, just calm down!" Twilight had been cleaning and running around all day.
"Calm down!" Twilight exclaimed. "Calm down! My best friend from Canterlot will be here any minute!"
"I didn't know you hand any friends from Canterlot. Well, except for Cadance. Who is she?" the purple and green baby dragon said.
"It is a stallion Spike, not a mare. I met him at school when I was a filly, we hung out a lot, or at least while I wasn't studying. Then he moved so I haven't seen him since. It was sad, but now I finally get to see him." Twilight chuckled at the thought. "Besides, I thought I told you about him.".
"No, you never told me about him. Who is she? I mean he." Spike said.
"His name is Red Book." Twilight said. "Don't worry Spike, he is a great colt."
"I got it." Spike said as the door bell rang. That was before he got trampled by Twilight who seemed to be running so fast it would make Rainbow Dash jealous.
She skidded to a halt at the door. "Sorry, Spike."
"Hello?" Twilight said opening the door, she sounded calmer than she felt.
"Hey Twilight!" It was the rest of the gang. The pink Pinkie Pie, the cyan, pegasus Rainbow Dash, the orange Applejack, the lovely, white Rarity, and the yellow, but quiet pegasus, Fluttershy. They all had birthday presents in their saddle-bags.
"Hey!" Twilight said in happy tone, but a bit of disappointment was clearly on her face. "Come on in."
"Hey Twi. Ya look kinda disappointed. Something wrong?" Applejack asked.
"I guess, I was looking forward to seeing a old friend. But he hasn't shown yet." Twilight said, now a bit down.
This got Pinkie Pies attention and she started bouncing up and down, "Hey! Was he a Unicorn with a red body, red and white hair and a book with a light thing above it as a cutie mark!"
"Yeah. Why?" Twilight asked, now very confused. How could she possibly know him? He is from Canterlot.
"I just saw him on our way here, I didn't recognize him. But, he did looked kinda lost, though." Pinkie Pie said.
Everyone just stared at her. "What?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Nothing, Pinkie. Come on, lets go try to find him. Spike, you stay here in case he comes here. Okay?" Twilight said.
"Okay!" Spike said with a solute. With that the ponies left Spike to watch for Twilight's friend.
--
While Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity searched from the ground, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy took the birds-eye view, all going in the same direction. They search for quite sometime until Rainbow Dash found him.
"Hey guys! I see him!" Rainbow Dash said as she landed. She pointed the direction from which she saw him. "Hey Twilight, what's his name anyway?"
"His name is, Red Book. You see his talent isn't writing books, although he has a book as his cutie mark. It is creating the cover design and the inside design that is his talent. Come on, let's go say 'hi'." Twilight said, with a hint of blush and the urge to run and say "hi" on her face. Which, fortunately, no pony noticed. "Hey, Red Book!"
The red Unicorn turned to her, "Twilight? Is that you?"
"It's me, Red Book. These are my friends." She pointed to all of them and said their names. "Come on, let's go to my house."
"Of course Twilight lives in library! It was your favorite place to go in Canterlot." Red Book said in gawking at the books. They had just arrived at Twilight Sparkle's house when he realized that is where he should have gone in the first place.
"I thought I gave you directions on how to get here." Twilight said confused.
"You did, I didn't memorize them and left them at my home by accident. Sorry Twilight." he said a little embarrassed. "So, what have you been up to since you left Canterlot?"
"Well, I guess you could say my friends and I have battled a few creatures." Twilight said. She didn't want to get too specific but didn't want to lie either.
"Like what?" he asked definitely wanting to get specific. "How did you do it?"
Twilight looked at her pony friends and they nodded, in which, saying a silent, "Go ahead and tell him."
"We used the Elements of Harmony." Twilight said.
"Wait... what?" Red Book asked, looking confused. "I thought they were just an old pony's tale?"
"Nope! We used them!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed jumping up and down.
"Is she always like that?" Red book asked. "A-Anyway, how could that be? They are just a myth?"
"Nope, we used them. And although I can't show you them, I can at least tell you something about it..." Twilight said.
"What is it?" Red Book said, ever so curious.
"Pinkie Pie is the Element of Laughter, Rarity is the Element of Generosity, Fluttershy is the Element of Kindness, Applejack is the Element of Honesty, Rainbow Dash is the Element of Loyalty, and I am the Element of Magic. Together we defeated many foes. But our friendship kept us together... no matter what." Twilight looked at her friends who looked very proud of themselves.
"That is so cool!" the red unicorn exclaimed.
"I thought you might say that." Twilight said looking pleased.
"Hey wanna go eat at a restaurant? I am kinda hungry." Red Book said. "I mean after travel and then looking around, you can guess why I'm hungry."
"Sure. Why not?" Twilight said.
She looked at the others. Rarity just stepped in and said, "Go on! You have some catching up to do we will hang here until you get back."
"Thanks! I'll see you later!" Twilight called and she stepped out the door. "Bye!"
--
"So... why this place? I mean it is a bit fancy." Twilight asked. She was right, though. It was a fancy restaurant although, as all restaurants in Ponyville, were cheap. Very cheap. Like salad was three bits. It was nice though. To go to a place like this and it be just her and Red Book. It was very nice.
"Well, I thought you might like it here. You know how much we know each other. If it weren't for looks and bloodline, I think we would be brother and sister." Red Book said with a smile, and even laughed a bit. This made Twilight laugh as well. Twilight and Redbook kept in touch by pen-pal letters but never really saw each other until today.
"How do you like Ponyville? Is it nice?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah. It's cool. But with all the twist and turns it is a bit confusing." Red Book said with a small blush of embarrassment.
"I understand. When I first got here I was slightly confused. But that was just me." Twilight said.
They ate their meals. Twilight hand a small salad and Red Book also had a small salad. They talked about life in Canterlot and Ponyville, the differences and the similarities. They laughed at jokes they told, not that they were particularly funny, but at the stupidity of the joke.
"You had to stop a bunch of creatures? That is amazing. Not to mention that you are the Element of Magic." Red Book said in a strangely, happy mood.
"Yes my friends and I did but, it was difficult a lot of times." Twilight Sparkle said. "Anyways, do you want me to show you around Ponyville?"
"Sure. I need to know my way around, right?" Red Book said. "Here I will pay." Shortly after the conversation, they paid and left.
--
They walked around Ponyville. Twilight pointed out all the land marks and her friends' houses. They started to talk again.
"So I bet you like Ponyville better, now you know your way around." Twilight said.
"Yep but I believe you still know Ponyville better than me though. Then again, you lived here longer." Red Book said.
"How is the sun already going down? It must be getting late. Come one we better head back."
--
The other ponies must have gone home, because, by the time they got home, it was night fall. Strange, because, it didn't seem that long. They left around noon to go eat. It is as if time had sped up. Anyway, so they just went to sleep. And Twilight had a very peaceful dream.
