"Dear Rainbow Dash, we are sorry to inform you that you have been denied from becoming a part of the Wonder Bolts. Your performance was just fine but we. . . do not support. . . your sexual orientation. . . and therefore cannot accept you into the organization. We hope that you find success in another endeavor. Thank you. Sincerely. . . the Wonderbolts. . ." Rainbow Dash sighed as she read the note that came in her mail.

It was the end of October, the sun barely rose over the horizon and the mailpony had already done his rounds. Rainbow sat upon a small cloud, covered only with a soft and warm blanket made for her by one of her friends.

". . .They. . . how could they. . . but. . . rainboom. . ." Rainbow rose up and sighed at the note. ". . . Does this mean. . .?"
Rainbow stared at the newspaper that the mailpony had also brought her. "TOP STORY: Spitfire removed from the Wonder Bolts due to lesbian scandal with potential Wonder Bolt Rainbow Dash.”

"Did I really. . . really?" Rainbow sighed to herself as she shyly placed the two items on her could and flew down into Ponyville.

Ponyville had looked just the same as it had every other day. The streets shined with happy customers, small street vendors, plenty of commotion, a large bustling utopia of happiness and friendship. A horrid aura surrounded the area, however, upon Rainbow's arrival. The faces of many ponies flew straight to the ground, a look of hatred and despair flew on each of them. Grumbling ensued, as Rainbow landed into town.

"Oh look. . . the fucking lesbian. . ." one pony grumbled.

"Why don't you just go off and have your orgies, you fucking pervert ass." Another mumbled.

"Have you no shame?" a third pony bumbled.

"Leave our damn establishment, you whory Celestia forsaken rapscallion!" a fourth pony crumbled.

"Gosh. . . does everyone. . . really hate me? . . . What have I done. . ." Rainbow sighed as she hung her head low and walked around Ponyville. She carried a bag of stuffed animals for each one of her friends. She had bought them the previous day and they finally came in the mail, along with her letters of despair.

"First off. . . Twilight. . . " Rainbow grumbled as she knocked on Twilight’s hard wooden door
.
"Oh he- Oh hell no!" Twilight sighed as she opened the door. "If this is an invitation to sexual intercourse, I'll have you know that I'm NOT interested, Rainbow! Celestia specifically entrusted me to engage on a mission to learn about FRIENDSHIP, not to get myself caught up in romantic relationships, especially ones with ponies that I am not interested in sexually, and most DEFINATELY not of the homosexual kind. Now, if you have some business, state it now, or leave my presence." Twilight exclaimed, obviously annoyed.

"Heh. . . hey there. . . I gotcha. . . a. . . plushie. . . "Rainbow stammered out nervously. Rainbow handed the plushie to Twilight.

"Hmm. . . my books don't see this as an act of sexual advancement. . . I. . . will take your gift. . . but please, stay away. The LAST thing I need is another annoyance hurting my studies. When you're ready to help me learn about friendship instead of trying to fill your own sexual desires, come back to me." Twilight explained, a heightened tone of annoyance. Before Rainbow could reply, Twilight slammed the door on her.

"I. . ." Rainbow sighed. “Maybe the other ponies won’t be as mean, right? Pinkie’s really nice. . . right” Rainbow mumbled to herself as she trotted onto Pinkie's workplace.

"OOOOH! A CUSTOMER, A CUSTOMER!" Pinkie exclaimed happily as she heard a bell ring by the door. "WE- Sorry, Rainbow, we don't serve fags here!" Pinkie happily stated, no change in her tone. She bucked Rainbow out of the door and knocked her onto the street.

"I'm. . . a. . . fag?" Rainbow sighed and asked herself. "But. . . it was only one thing. . . my friends. . . that name for just one thing. . ." Rainbow teared up. But she worked up the energy not to cry. After all, if she was going to be a whory lesbian, she might as well be the strong manly type. She knew, also, that nobody would be able to hold her if she began to cry. She was alone in this world. So the best thing to do was to hold in all of these tears until she could find a place. . . all by herself. . . to just cry, and possibly. . . die.

"Um. . . hi. . . Rainbow. . . sorry, I'm busy." Fluttershy meekly whispered out as she also slammed the door onto Rainbow's face.

"Fluttershy! I thought we were best friends! Pegasus buddies! I didn't mean to hurt you that much! I just want to give you something!" Rainbow bawled out, still holding in tears.

"Pleasedontrapemepleasedontrapeme!" Fluttershy cried out from the door. This obviously wasn't going anywhere, Fluttershy was often too stubborn to change her opinions when she was scared.

". . . Take your damn plushie. . ." Rainbow grumbled as she threw a stuffed animal through Rainbow's door.

"GYYYAAAAAH! I DON'T WANT TO RAINBOW, I DON'T WANT TO!" Fluttershy screamed as Rainbow trotted away towards Applejack's farm.

"Ya know, Rainbow. . . I've gotta big brother, he can show ya all the great things 'bout colts. . ." Applejack stated, obviously nervous. Big Mac smiled in an attempt to be supportive towards Rainbow Dash.

". . . What's wrong with it, though? What's wrong with liking girls?" Rainbow asked. Applejack tackled Rainbow and covered her mouth.

"THERE'S KIDDOS HERE, SUGARCUBE!" Applejack screamed. "Anyways. . . um. . . thats just not how Celestia created us. She created a colt to like a mare, she created them to have 'lil foals and raise them happily. You're breakin' the rules o' society, Rainbow!" Applejack growled.

". . . You. . . you can't change who I love. . . " Rainbow grumbled.

"I can't, but I'm just saying not ta express it 'round these parts!" Applejack sighed out, trying to get over Rainbow's own stubbornness.

". . . I. . . can't. . . I need serious help. . .I want to be loved. . . but I don't want to be. . . different. . ." Rainbow cried out, a tear rolling from her eye.

"Don't worry, sugarcube. I'll be there for you the entire way!" Applejack stated happily, still on top of Rainbow.

"T. . . T. . ." Rainbow leaned in for a kiss from Applejack. She wasn't entirely sure why. She knew Applejack wasn't into that. In fact, she was trying to keep Rainbow AWAY from that. But she did. . . who knows, maybe something would. . .

"ON SECOND THOUGHT I THINK I HAVE SOME TREES TO BUCK, SEE YA LATER RAINBOW!" Applejack screamed nervously as she sprinted towards the barn. Big Mac gave a dirty look towards Rainbow.

"Listen here. . . ya lil punk. . . I don't wantcha messin' up mah sister. All she was tryina do was help ya, and you just push your horrible way on 'er! Whatcha tryina do, ruin her like you're ruined?! GET OUT OF HERE! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU OR YOUR CORRUPT FACE AGAIN IN THIS PART OF TOWN, YA HEAR?!" Big Mac screamed, furiously stomping on the ground. Rainbow didn't need any time to think, she immediately flew away, to the only friend she knew. . .

"Oh this is just AWFUL! OPAL! I'm ALL out of Topaz! How am I supposed to create this dress without any topaz?!" Rarity cried out. She suddenly heard her doorbell ring. "NO MATTER! Opal, take note, I shall go shopping tomorrow and find more precious Topaz!" Rarity announced, trotting down the stairs, immediately noticing Rainbow Dash.

"Oh DARLING, Rainbow! Come, take a seat! You look positively FAMISHED!" Rarity welcomed Rainbow, seeing her friend's obvious hurt. "Now, what seems to be the problem, darling?"

"Well. . . my. . . did you read the paper?" Rainbow asked shyly, not wanting to be left like her other friends left her.

". . . I did. . . I know what this is about. . . I haven't left the house since the incident, though. . . how have your friend been taking it?" Rarity asked caringly.

"They. . . they. . . friends. . . my. . ." Rainbow couldn't help but cry upon the deep stress put onto her. "WHAT FRIENDS?! I HAVE NO FRIENDS ANYMORE. ALL I HAVE IS AN ENTIRE CITY WHO HATES ME. I GOT DENIED FROM THE WONDERBOLTS, I GOT. . . I got. . . I. . ."

Rainbow walked out of the door and flew as high as she possibly could. Rarity watched in awe, knowing for a fact that that Rainbow wouldn't hear her words. Rainbow sat in the sky for a few minutes before suddenly falling.

"Oh. . . is she going to do a Sonic Rainboom? That sounds delightful! I guess that's how pegasi deal with stress. . ." Rarity wondered. She discovered something shocking. . . Rainbow wasn't moving her wings. There was no determination in her eyes. There was only deadness. Realization rushed into Rarity's mind.

“Oh. . . Oh. . . Oh Celestia. . . I can't let this happen! Not to Rainbow Dash, my best friend in the whole wide world!" Rarity cried as she sprinted to the second story of her building. She tossed everything soft she had out of the window, landing onto another building. The area was oddly desolate at this time of day, so no odd looks were given at Rarity's actions. Rarity jumped to the outside of the window, watching Rainbow.

"Rainbow. . . don't. . do. . . THIS!" Rarity jumped out of the window, grabbing Rainbow as she flew by the window. The two of them flew together and landed on the pile of assorted soft items. Both survived the fall with only bruises.

"PLEASE LET ME DIE PLEASE LET ME DIE PLEASE. . . please. . . " Rainbow Dash screamed. . . she could hold her tears in no longer. She curled up and began to desperately cry, the tears seeming endless.

"Oh, your poor thing. . . I could never understand your situation. . . but always know that I'm here for you. . ." Rarity stated supportivley as she laid Rainbow's head on her body. Rainbow cried endlessly for what seemed like forever, but was closer to about 30 minutes. Ponies trotted by, some laughing, some cringing away in fear, some just ignoring her, but Rarity sat patiently, waiting for Rainbow's emotions to come out.

". . . Do you hate me?" Rainbow muttered quietly as she finished her tears.

"No, darling, I would NEVER do that! You've done so much for me! I won't just let one silly thing ruin the greatest friendship I've ever had!" Rarity explained calmly to Rainbow.

The emotions rose up in Rainbow again. kiss her. kiss her. her mind screamed. Rarity looked straight into Rainbow's eyes, knowing the one thing racing through her mind.

"I. . . cannot share your feelings. . . I've always been interested in colts and stallions. . . but just know that through out differences, we can always be together as friends. I don't care if anybody leaves you. I don't care if people hate us because we're together, just know that I still love you as one of my greatest friends, and if that means that I'll have to get rid of some so called "friends" to do that, then I'll do exactly that." Rarity explained, petting Rainbow's mane. "Now, come on, big girl, let's go inside and take a big nap. I ALWAYS feel better after getting some beauty sleep! I'll even let you sleep in my big comfy bed!" Rarity helped Rainbow Dash up and they both trotted towards Rarity's house. Rarity made sure to stay closer to Rainbow, so she knew that there was always somebody with her.

"Rarity. . . please. . . don't leave me. . . ever. . ." Rainbow sighed out, still teary and sniffly.

"Darling, I'd NEVER do that!" Rarity giggled. Rarity opened the door and let Rainbow Dash in. She escorted Rainbow to her bed, and although it was a bit. . . girly for her tastes, Rainbow still accepted it, appreciating the offer of her greatest, and at this point, only friend in the entire world. . . Rarity.

"Rarity. . . I love you. . . I don't want to be with you for sex. . . I don't want to dirty you like I did with Spitfire. . . that was an act of lust. . . I see your beauty. . . I see your amazing qualities. . . I don't care if you're the opposite of me. . . I don't care if you make pretty dresses and can never get dirty and can't even fly, while I love looking cool and flying in the air, getting the stains of crashed bugs and dirty wind in my hair. . . I can't help but love you. . . I never want to leave you. . . please. . . if only you could love me to. . ." Rainbow murmured as she fell asleep.

Rainbow assumed that Rarity was gone, but Rarity had been sitting there right next to her. Rarity stared at the sleeping Rainbow. She was so. . . oddly elegant, so powerful yet so beautiful. . . too bad she was a girl.

"Rainbow. . . I love you too. . . even if I don't love you in the way that you love me. . . I still never want to leave you. . . ever. . . even once I find the stallion of my dreams, I will still always care for you, and if he will not do the same, then he can leave my presence. . . never feel bad Rainbow. . . never. . . never feel alone, for I am always with you. . ." Rarity kissed Rainbow lightly on the forehead while she was asleep, and sat patiently by Rainbow's side until she arose hours later.
