Gilda.

Gilda laid in the end of the room, a pile of dried blood surrounding her. Rainbow could see as she looked down that she was carried in, as a line of crimson red dried blood lead to the door from the horrid puddle. The end. . . leading to where Luna was standing.

"You. . . you MONSTER!" Rainbow screamed at Luna.

"Yes, Rainbow. I killed her. But hear me out. I was instructed by Princess Celestia to check on the ruckus that the two of you were making. Upon my entrance, I noticed Gilda about to cut open your throat. I proceeded to tackle her, but I. . . miscalculated. Even though I am a princess, I still make mistakes. We landed on a lamp, and the bulb broke and cut her in the throat. She fell unconscious and died from blood loss. I took you here, and then had one of my guardsmen come and bring Gilda to here. We will be happy to dispose the body back to you, if you wish," Luna explained calmly. Almost too calmly, in a sense. This scared Rainbow beyond belief.

"Why. . . Why did you kill her?! Plus, why do you seem so CALM about it?!" Rainbow screamed.

"I see murders happen every day. Nopony would dare take another's life in Celestia's perfect day. . ." Luna stated, shifting to an annoyed tone. "But EVERYONE wants to go off killing ponies when it's my beautiful night!" She sighed softly. "I have seen things that no pony should ever have to see. A simple incident like this has no effect on me."

"But you KILLED her!" Rainbow screamed, falling to the floor, tears wanting to explode from her eyes.

"Yes. . . but you must realize, child," Luna explained as she bent down to pet Rainbow's back.

"Don't touch me!" Rainbow screamed.

Luna gave no reaction to the exclamation, but placed her hoof next to Rainbow, still kneeling over. "When ponies like us stand for something as powerful as this, sometimes blood must be shed. Sometimes, it is the blood of our friends that we hold so dearly to us. But those are the hardships of war, and they make us stronger as ponies deep down inside. Who knows, maybe another one of your friends may die. I might even die, child. But what you must learn is that we must fight through death for our cause." Luna pet Rainbow, against her orders. "I know it is hard, child, but you will become stronger from this experience.”

Silence filled the room. Rainbow could do nothing but sniffle as the tears overflowed in her eyes, but never escaped.

"You. . . Murderer!" Rainbow screamed as she punched Luna in the face.

". . . You will learn, child. Now, come." Luna stated as she completely ignored the attack, almost as if it had never happened, putting more fear into Rainbow. Darkness soon filled the room. "I will tell Cadence of the news. You go and rest. You will feel better, child, trust me."

Nothing.

Light reappeared in Rainbow's eyes, and she saw the commonplace area of her friends. Cadence and Derpy were playing a game of Go Fish on the table, while Zecora was reading a book on ancient spells, writing down various bits of information on a sheet of paper. Rainbow looked behind her and saw Luna's friends, exploring the room with great interest.

"Ya know, pardner, it'd be a lot nicer if ya told us 'fore ya teleported us!" Braeburn exclaimed to Luna, slightly annoyed. "Ah was just 'bout ta make dinner fer us all! It'll be all cold when we get back!"

Before Luna could reply, Cadence looked up from her game with Derpy and gave a look of confusion.

"Shit," she sighed under her breath. "Oh! Hello, Luna! Welcome to my. . . clubhouse! I just finished checking on the Cry-"

"Miss Cadence. It is fine, I am aware of your rebellion against Celestia, and I am here to say that I, and the ponies you see before me, are willing to help!" Luna explained. "We found your friends Gilda. . ." Rainbow twitched slightly and growled after hearing that name, "and Rainbow Dash, and we just knew that they were perfect for our group! However, they told us about your group, and I thought I would like to visit!"

"Oh, well that's wonderful! I'll be happy to meet all of your friends! It's always helpful having more friends here! Plus, with two princesses, we can definitely take down Celestia!" Cadence exclaimed as she giggled softly. "I'm so happy! Thank you, Rainbow Dash! But. . . where's Gilda?"

Rainbow Dash coughed heavily, shivering as she did so.

"Oh. . . um. . ." Cadence stammered as she saw Rainbow's intense reaction. "Here, Zecora, I know you're busy, but can you please give all of these ponies a room in the back? I'm sure they're very tired from their long trip here, and it's the least I can do to show our new friends some hospitality!"

"Ah, Cadence, about my busy-ness, do not worry!
You, over there, follow me, and hurry!" Zecora announced, pointing to the ponies (and changeling) behind Luna.

"Oooh! Oooh! I like to rhyme too! Liiiike. . . let me think. . . uuu-" Pinkie Pie squealed.

"Pinkie." Luna stated coldly. "Don't be rude to our new guest. Just follow her."

"Bu-"

"Now."

Luna’s coldness struck Rainbow as sort of odd. Luna had been so casual about Gilda, her best friend, being murdered by her own hooves! Now she had a very cold tone to her voice that even made Pinkie a bit frightened. Rainbow thought of Gilda again, around the first month that Twilight had come into Ponyville. Gilda could intimidate ANY pony she walked into contact with, even Rainbow, at times. . . except for Pinkie. If Gilda couldn't intimidate Pinkie, but Luna could. . . something was weird about Luna, and she didn't know what. . . but she was going to find out, even if it killed her.

. . . like it killed Gilda

Rainbow could not hold her tears in anymore. "I-I-I have to go do something!" Rainbow screamed as she flew past the door leading to the bedrooms, almost knocking over Cheerilee as she sprinted to her room.

Smack.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Rainbow screamed trying her hardest to regain her hooving. Before she could do so, she fell to the floor, smacking her face onto the ground. Her tears could wait no longer.

". . . Rainbow?" A soothing voice asked, a voice Rainbow had wanted to hear for such a long time.

"R-R-Rarity?!" Rainbow almost screamed, in happiness but still in sorrow.

"Yes, darling, it's me. You're completely fine for knocking into me, I'm fine! But, dear, are YOU fine?" Rarity asked, kneeling closer to Rainbow.

"They. . . killed. . . Gilda. . ." Rainbow growled.

"Gilda? They killed her? Well, good riddance!" Rarity scoffed.

"Good riddance? Good riddance?!" Rainbow immediately got back onto her hooves and stared straight into Rarity's eyes. "You don't know anything about her, you fucking whore!"

"R-R-Rainbow! I-I'm sorry! But she was just so RUDE!" Rarity exclaimed, utter shock in her eyes.

"Yeah, sure, she was rude, she was mean, she tried to kill me, ok. . . but. . . but. . . I loved her!" Rainbow screamed, smashing her face into the floor again as she cried, making a horrendous moan while doing so.

"Oh. . . darling. . ." Rarity stood, confused. She had just gotten over the fact that Rainbow was a lesbian, but now she's a lesbian who's into mean ponies?! Who could ever think of loving a creature so horrid, so vile, so. . . violent? "I'm not comprehending. . . how could you love her, after all of those mean things?"

"You don't know a damn THING about love, do you?!" Rainbow screamed, muffled by her face in the ground. "She was always willing to spend time with me, we shared so many things in common! She actually. . . liked me. . . it felt so amazing, one of the most badass creatures in all of Cloudsdale actually liked me! I. . . lost my virginity to her. . . and I took hers too. . . it was so amazing, being able to be with someone who seemed like they sincerely cared about me. With nice ponies, it's ok, but it's like, they could go off and love anybody because they're so nice and caring and accepting of others. . . but with Gilda. . . if she was even your friend, you knew that you were special. To be lovers. . . I felt amazing. . . and that Luna bitch had to take it all away. . . after so long. . ." Rainbow sighed.

"Darling. . . " Rarity could say nothing, and chose instead to lay down by Rainbow and hug her. "Love is confusing. . . but you must realize. . . having somepony that is so mean to you be the person you choose to spend your life with. . . that's not good for you! She could hurt you at any second! You said she was going to kill you! Do you want that in life?!" Rarity grew more passionate after each and every word. She couldn't really tell why, this wasn't her game to be playing. . . but Rainbow. . . how could she love that kind of creature?! "Do you want someone who could so easily tear apart the fiber of life from you?! Do you wa-"

"I just want to be loved!" Rainbow screamed, slamming her hooves into the ground. "Nopony loves me at all. . . nopony. . . except Gilda. . ."

Tenseness filled the room. . . all that could be heard were Rainbow's horrid sobs, the moans growing louder and louder by the second.

"Rainbow. . . I love you. . . sure, not as a lover like Gilda was, but I love you as a friend. Friends are always there for each other, no matter what. I would never dream of hurting a hair on that beautiful mane of yours, darling. . . I will do everything I can to help you find a special somepony to love in the way you want to love them. . . but please, never say that nopony loves you. . .because I love you." Rarity calmly explained to Rainbow once her moans seemed to die out.

"Rarity. . ." Rainbow breathed out. This Rarity was something else. Rainbow said so many bad things to her, but she still kept her composure. She knew that Rarity was always the most outspoken of the group, voicing her opinion as loud as possible, no matter how silly it was. . . but her feelings now felt real. Rarity wasn't hiding the thoughts of "Wow, Rainbow said some mean things, I should punch her or something", but she could feel that Rarity truly saw the purity that laid deep in Rainbow. . .

Why was love so confusing? This was the most prim-and-proper pony in all of Ponyville, and Rainbow had just finished ranting about how she loved the complete opposite of her. . . but she still loved Rarity.

"Rarity. . . Rarity. . . " Rainbow breathed out. She got up once more and looked into Rarity's eyes. Their softness and kindness, her gentle smile.

"Ra-mmmrrrmpphh!" Rarity screamed. When Rainbow regained her sanity, she was locking lips with Rarity, a look of utter terror on her face. Rainbow couldn't stop, though, she threw both of her front hooves around her mane and went deeper into the kiss, being careful not to use her tounge, as Rarity would probably run away (It's a miracle she hadn't already done that). Rarity stayed tense for the entire moment, even as Rainbow released her.

". . . I'm sorry. . . " Rainbow sighed out as she turned around and sprinted towards her room, her wings flapping as fast as possible. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm. . . s-s-soorry!" Rainbow continued to scream until she reached her room, crashing into the door and fainting. All Rarity could do was stare.

"Rainbow. . . " Rarity sighed to herself. "Don't be sorry. . . I know how much love hurts. . . I forgive you for your actions. . . I will stand by you, Rainbow. Because that's what friends do. That is why I love you, Rainbow. What all six of us learned about friendship when Twilight was with us. . . I haven't forgotten those lessons. Sure, maybe Twilight has, but I haven't. Friendship is Magic, Rainbow, and magic never dies."

Rarity gave a soft sniffle, saddened to see her friend in such a distraught state. It wasn't pathetic, but it was. . . depressing.

Why is love so confusing?
