The Legacy of Spikeby Sky CharmerChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Bonus Chapter!PrologueChapter 3Chapter 7Sequel!Chapter 1The Legacy of Spike Chapter 1 Entry # 4 Today, RD is coming back from Cloudsdale. I think that i’ll ask her to be my mentor in flying. I might let Scootaloo tag along with me, I know how much that little filly admires RD. I just feel so sad for her, I mean, she’s almost at the age when most filly’s are able to enter the Best Young Flyers Competition. I gotta ask RD is other species are able to join the competition. I hope they are, I might consider joining. Heh, RD might actually *have** some competition. I hope that I don’t intimidate the other competitors too much, that wouldn’t be too good. But, that is if they let me join. And if other species are allowed to enter. I gotta get used to my new height. It’s really bothering me and some ponies around town. Although, Twilight keeps reassuring them that I am not a threat to anypony, i’m pretty sure that they don’t believe her. I’m not even sure if I believe her! But there is one good thing that came with the new height. I finally my own room! Sure, it’s in the basement. And sure, it has bugs crawling all over the place. But, that doesn’t matter to me, as long as I get to have my own room. Besides, I get to use the mutated bugs(don’t ask) as target practice. I swear they keep getting bigger and bigger every day, i’m starting to get worried... CRAP! That thing was HUGE! I gotta show Twilight this thing.* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Hey, Twi!” Spike called, bounding up the stairs to the main floor of the library. Where Twilight was conveniently taking a sip of her smoldering coffee. “Hey, Twi. Check out the size of this roach!” He yelled, shoving the half burnt cockroach in her face. Twilight took one whiff of the burnt mutated bug(again don’t ask) and spewed he coffee all over Spike. Unfortunately, his eyes were open the entire time. “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry, Spike.” She said, chuckling lightly. Spike’s eyes quickly became irritated. “Argh!” He screamed. “My eyes! My eyes! It burns!” His knees buckled and he feigned passing out. Being the egghead she it, Twilight fell for it. “Oh my gosh! Spike, are you alright? Do you need to go to the clinic? Stay here, i’ll go get Fluttershy!” She turned around and headed for the door, when she heard chuckling from behind her. “I can’t believe you fell for that, Twi. Again! You know that dragons are unaffected by anything hot.” He stopped and thought for a moment. “Well, they are unless it’s a really hot mare. Mmmm...Rarity.” He said dreamily. Twilight’s cheeks turned a deep shade of red. “Spike! How can you say that? And about one of our best friends, nonetheless!” She said. When she remembered what made her panic in the first place, she looked back up at him and the blush quickly left her cheeks. Her purple coat turned to a pristine white one and her mane became engulfed in flames. “You tricked me!” She shouted. “You made me think that I had actually hurt you!” Oh. shit Was all Spike could think before she charged at him. He quickly made his decision and ran out the door as fast as he could. Well, he would have ran out the door. If it weren’t for the short doorway that knocked him it the face when he stood up. “Ow! I gotta remember that I have to get down on all fours from now on out.” He said to himself. He resumed run--er..galloping? Out the doorway and made his way across Ponyville. He was almost home-free from the enraged mare when a blue blur tackled him to the ground. At first he thought it was Twilight, but then he remembered that Twilight didn’t have a blue coat, she had a white one, at this particular time. “Ugh, Rainbow Dash! Get off of me! I gotta get away from Twi!” Spike screamed. “Oh, no you don’t!” She shouted, grabbing his tail in between her teeth and flinging him upwards. She flew up to him and slammed him into the ground with a well placed buck. “Who are you! And what have you done to Spike?!” She yelled at him. “What are you talking about, RD? I am Spi-” He was interrupted by a buck to the jaw. He kneeled over and coughed up blood and a few teeth. He looked back up at Dash. “What the hell, Dash? Why’d you knock my teeth ou-” He was bucked in the stomach this time. It sent him flying a few feet. Into a nearby crown of vendors. He could tell that he had probably broken a few ribs, maybe punctured a lung. He figured he should just wait for Twilight to come to stop her maniac friend, before he ended up in the hospital. Dash slowly walked up to him. “Now tell me the truth! Who are you?! And where is Spike?! The real Spike!” She screamed. “Dash, stop! That is the real Spike! Stop hurting him!” Twilight yelled as she pushed through the crowd that had gathered around them. Dash looked down at the bleeding dragon. When she recognized his emerald eyes, she flinched. “Sp-Spike?” She asked. “Yeah, Dash?” Spike replied, his breath becoming shallower by the second. Her eyes began to water up as she realized what she had done. “Spike, i’m so, so sorry. I had no idea it was you. Come on, let’s get you to the hospital.” She said. She got close to him to wait for a reply, when she noticed that he wasn’t breathing anymore. “Spike? Spike?! Spike!!” She screamed. “Spike, get up! Come one, buddy! Get up!” Twilight ran over to Rainbow Dash and teleported them to the Ponyville Memorial Hospital. When they were teleported into the lobby, the nurses, doctors, and patients were dazed by the sudden flash of light. The receptionist looked over at the group. “Wha- Oh my. Get me a stretcher! And quick!” She yelled. A few volunteer’s brought in a stretcher from another room. They placed Spike on it and wheeled him away. The nurse told Twilight and Rainbow Dash to wait in the lobby. A short while later, Rainbow Dash decided to go get the other’s, while Twilight stayed to await the news of Spike’s condition. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #1 Dear Celestia, what have I done? I’ve critically injured one of my friends, just because I jumped to conclusions. I hope the damage isn’t too bad. I hope Spike isn’t left with any serious damage. I should’ve been paying closer attention. I would’ve seen the emerald eyes that were pleading for mercy. I wish I could’ve stopped myself in time. I don’t know what to do. This is my first entry in the journal that Twi gave me. I just can’t stop thinking about what I did to Spike. I feel horrible for it. -Rainbow Dash Chapter 2The Legacy of Spike Chapter 2 Beep Beep The soft beeping of medical equipment startled Spike awake. His eyelids felt heavy and he failed to open them. When he did, he immediately regretted the decision. His pupils were blinded by a bright light. It took a few moments for his eyes to adjust to the light. When they did, he got a fairly good look around the room. It looks like i’m in the hospital He thought to himself. He tried to remember why he was here in the first place, but he couldn’t think of anything. His eyes scanned over his body. His chest was covered in a white cloth that wrapped around his entire body. He could also feel something clamped to his left arm. He turned his head and felt a sharp pain going through his neck. The heartbeat monitor next to his bed started to beep faster and faster. After he calmed his heart down, he moved his head to the side again, this time, slower. He stared at the cast over his arm for a while. As he started getting extremely bored, he heard the soft ‘clop’ of hooves in the hallway outside of his room. “Hello?” He called. His voice was hoarse from not drinking anything for a couple of days. “Is anypony there?” He called again. This time, the steps stopped right outside of his room. The door was slowly pushed open. Spike smiled when he saw who was standing there: Twilight. When Twilight saw that Spike was awake, she gasped, ran out, and gathered the others. When they came closer to his room, he heard them chatting about something to do with Rainbow Dash. He was about to ask what they were talking about, when Pinkie Pie and the rest of his friends, gripped him in a back-bone breaking embrace. “Ugh...Girls...Can’t...Breathe...” He gasped for breath. The five mare’s giggled at his reaction and... Wait a minute. Five? Where’s Rainbow Dash? He wondered to himself. “Hey, Twi? Wheres RD? Didn’t she want to come to see if I was alright?” He asked. “Or is she still stick in Cloudsdale?” “What do you mean ‘where is she’? Don’t you remember anything?” She asked, her voice suddenly filled with worry. “Um, no. I can’t remember anything after leaving the library when I got you angry. What happened?” He asked. “Um, well... You see, the thing is...” Twilight began. But, Applejack cut her off. “Rainbow Dash is the reason yer in the hospital in the first place, Spike. She put you in here.” She said. “But, the worst part is-is... she put ya in here... one week ago.” She said, tears had already begun streaking down her orange face. “What do you mean? Are you saying that i’ve been asleep for an entire week?!” Spike asked, raising his voice. “Now, calm down, sugarcube. Ah’m sure she didn’t mean t’ put you into a coma.” Applejack tried to reassure him. But when she mentioned the word ‘coma’. His eyes widened in surprise. “I-I was in a coma for a week?” Spike asked. “Is that even possible?” “No, Spike. It isn’t. You shouldn’t have made it this far. The doctor’s sent me to unplug the system that was keeping you alive. Right now, you should be dead.” Twilight stated plainly, without showing any sort of emotion. “I should be dead?” “Yes, Spike. When she bucked you in the mouth, she gave you a minor concussion. After that, she broke your ribs, one of which punctured your lungs. The doctor’s here patched you up as best as they could. The reason why Rainbow Dash is here is because she didn’t want to see you in any more pain, she didn’t want to see you die.” Twilight said. Spike looked up at his ‘mother’. “Twi, can you bring Rainbow Dash here?” He asked. She seemed taken aback by his request. But, she complied nonetheless. As soon as she left the room, the others followed suit. When he finally heard the last of the hoofsteps leave his hallway, he thought about what they had said. Did Rainbow Dash really put me into the hospital? Should I really be dead? Why wasn’t I more careful? I could’ve avoided this. He thought to himself. His thoughts were interrupted by a cyan pegasus walking into the room, her head hung low. She slowly lifted her head up and saw Spike. Her eyes immediately brightened. “Spike! You’re alive!” She said, jumping up to hug him. “Wow, Rainbow Dash. I never saw you as a hugger.” He teased. She immediately realized what she was doing and hopped off of him. “What happened here, never leaves this room. Got it?” She said sternly. “Got it.” Spike replied. She remembered how close Spike was to dying. And it was all her fault. She was the one who thought he was a different dragon, when in reality, he was the same dragon they knew and cared for. Her gaze met Spike’s emerald eyes. “Look, Spike. I’m sorry for what happened last week. It was my fault you’re in here.” She said somberly. Spike moved his claw to her shoulder. Rainbow Dash lifter her head up to look at Spike. “Dash, you have no reason to apologize. I mean, sure you nearly killed me, sure you threw me into a coma for a week, and sure you put me into the hospital . But that doesn’t mean anything. Now, did that make you feel any better.” Spike asked. She gave him an ‘are you buckin’ serious’ look. “Spike, now is not the time for joking around. Okay?” She said. “Fine. I was just trying to cheer you up. Meh, that’s Pinkie’s thing anyways.” “You could have just said it wasn’t my fault. That would’ve been way easier.” “Okay, it wasn’t my fault. It was yours.” He said smiling at her jokingly. “Heh, I guess I walked into that one, didn’t I?” “Eeyup.” He replied, perfectly imitating Big Mac’s voice. “Oh, Dash. I almost forgot. I needed to ask you something before you beat me to a pulp.” “Yeah, what is it?” She asked him, her curiosity getting the best of her. “How would you like to be my flying teacher?” He asked, poking her chest with a single claw. She looked at him in disbelief. “Are you serious, Spike? You don’t even have wings yet. You just grew a few inches, or a few feet.” She said. She continued to stare at him when he fully expanded his wings. “A-Are those....” She stuttered. “Yep, got these bad boys the night before I ran into you.” He said, smiling proudly. “So? What’s the answer?” He asked. “Y-yes. Just yes. I mean, how awesome would it be if I told somepony that I trained a dragon to fly?!” “Okay, thanks. This really means alot to me, Dash. I’m now considering you one of my best friends.” “Awesome!!” She shouted enthusiastically. “I-I mean, it’s totally cool, or whatever.” She said blushing. Spike laughed. “Get out of here, Dash. Probably near time for my next meal, whenever that is.” Spike chuckled. She nodded and left the room in a hurry. Since the beginning of the afternoon, Spike was finally able to take in the entire room. He looked to his right and spotted his journal on a chair. “That’s Twilight for you.” He mumbled as he reached for it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #5 Well, I wake up one week after my ‘encounter’ with RD. It wasn’t the most pleasant meeting. But, damn. Does she pack a good buck. I wonder why she has so much muscle. I mean, she’s a pegasus. And running isn’t exactly their strong suit. I guess it just comes from the training in Flight Camp. I think that’s what RD calls it. Anyways, i’m getting pretty tired, so i’ll keep this short. -Spike Chapter 4The Legacy of Spike Chapter 4 Entry #8 Wow, it’s been a long time since I wrote in this thing. I haven’t really got the time to write any more. With all the flying lessons and living situation. Oh, that’s right. I guess I should explain first. Since my growth spurt a few months ago, i’ve been having a little trouble with fitting into the library. I’m also old enough to get my own place. The only problem is, bits. I don’t really have the money to buy my own place, let alone, support myself. Me, Twilight, and the girls have been trying to brainstorm a solution to this. We still haven’t gotten any bright ideas yet. Unless you call living in Pinkie’s basement a good thing. She even offered me a job of baking cupcakes. But, I refused. I think that i’ve had more than enough of my fair share of sugary sweets for a while. Now that I eat half of my weight each day. I’ve also had a small problem with the fillies around Ponyville. It’s like they keep stalking me wherever I go. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of them were waiting outside of my window. Hold on a sec. Okay, then. I was right. There *were** a few fillies waiting outside of my window. Three pegasi to be exact. I wonder what’s wrong with them. All of them started acting strange right after I grew my wings. Oh, well. Like Big Mac says, “Mare’s, can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em”. Although, that was before he and Fluttershy started going out. I wonder what his opinion on mares is now.* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Knock, Knock, Knock! “Ugh! Hold on! I’m nearly there!” Spike yelled angrily, shuffling his feet across the floor. He peered through the window and spotted Applejack slightly bouncing in front of the door. Applejack? He thought to himself. What is she doing here this early in the morning? Doesn’t she have some work to do? He slowly walked from the window to the door and unlocked it, granting her entrance to the library. “So, AJ. What’d you want. It’s too early to check out a book. Besides, don’t you have work today?” He asked, stifling a yawn. “That’s just it, Spike. Big Mac moved in with Fluttershy the other day and now ah’ need some help on the orchard.” She said smiling. “And?” “‘And’ what?” “What does this have to do with the library? I don’t really think it can sprout legs and help you harvest apples. Even if Twilight found a way to do that.” Applejack face hoofed. “Spike, Ah’m askin’ you for help! Ah’m askin’ you t’ work at Sweet Apple Acres with me. Don’ you worry, i’ll pay you.” The surprise could be clearly seen on Spike’s face. “Really?” He asked. Applejack nodded a few times before being nearly crushed to death by an overjoyed dragon. “Gah! Spike...can’t....breathe...” She managed to get out before feeling an immense amount of relief wash over her. “Heh, heh. Sorry, Applejack. I guess I still don’t know my own strength.” He chuckled, trying to make the situation less awkward for himself. “So... when do I start?” He asked her. “Well, you can start today if ya’ like. I have a lot of apple that need harvestin’.” Applejack answered. “Great! What’ll I need?” Spike said excitedly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spike landed heavily on a bale of hay. He had been working at clearing the apple trees for a good part of the day. “Are you doin’ what ah’ think your doin’?” A familiar voice asked. Spike jumped from the bale of hay and turned his attention towards the tan mare walking into the barn with a bucket of freshly picked apples on her back. “Uh, I don’t know what you mean, AJ. I was just, uh, just-” Spike stuttered, trying to find the right thing to say. “You were just’ takin’ a break. Don’t try t’ lie t’ me, Spike. After All, Ah’ am the Element of Honesty. Ah’ can tell when you're lyin’ from across the orchard.” She said chuckling softly. “Don’t worry, Spike. You can take a break if you need one.” “So it’s fine if I rest for a bit?” Spike asked hesitantly. Applejack nodded. “Actually, Spike. Ah’ think that we’re done for today. You can go back t’ the library now.” Spike smiled at Applejack warmly and walked towards the door. “Wait, Spike.” Applejack called after him. He stopped and turned towards her. “Don’t forget yer pay.” She said, holding a small leather sack in her mouth. She threw it in the air to him. He caught the small sack easily and looked up at Applejack. “Thanks, AJ.” He said, before turning to go home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spike threw the basket full of apples into the cart. The cart was now half way full, that meant that he still had a lot of apples to harvest. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead with a cloth. He looked up at the sun and saw that it was about noon. “Well, I guess now’s a good time as any to take a break.” He said to no one in particular. He turned and started to head towards the barn, where his lunch was waiting for him patiently, as it always was. But this time, when he opened the barn doors, he found that his brown bag of ecstasy, had been ransacked. All that was left of his lunch, was a few scraps of crust and a single apple core. And the only evidence of the culprit, was a neatly tied bow on top of a pile of hay. “Hmm, I wonder who could’ve done this.” He said, glaring at the pile of hay. “Well, considering that I only know one pony who would wear a pink bow and steal my lunch.” He started to walk towards the pile of hay, which was now visible shaking. He chuckled as he grabbed the pink bow and lifted it out of the pile of hay with the filly attached. “You know Applebloom, its not a smart idea to steal a dragon’s food. Especially, when they’re so hungry, that they could eat a small filly like yourself.” Spike said, showing her his spiky teeth. “Heh, heh. Hi, Spike. Fancy meetin’ you here. What brings you t’ the barn?” She asked. “Oh, nothing much, just coming by to eat my lunch. Which won’t stop squirming until I let her go, or eat her.” He said, grinning menacingly. The next thing he knew, she was screaming her head off. He could hear Applejack galloping to the barn. He gently set her down and exited through the back entrance. Right before she burst through the front entrance. “AB! What’s wrong?!” Applejack asked. “Spike tried t’ eat me!” She yelled. “But...” Applejack scanned the barn for Spike. “But, he’s not here AB. He couldn’t have tried t’ eat you if he’s not even here. Besides, why would he try t’ eat you, he’s not even that kind of dragon.” Applejack explained. “He tried t’ eat me ‘cause ah’ ate his lunch.” She whined. “And why’d you eat his lunch?” Applejack pressed. “‘Cause ah’ got in a fight with mah colt-friend!” Apple Bloom yelled. After realizing what she just said, she covered her mouth with her hooves. Applejack glared at her little sister. “Your what?” She asked. “Mah colt-friend.” Apple Bloom whispered. “And when did you get a colt-friend?” “Ah’ met him a few months ago. His names Rumble, he’s a pegasus.” She explained. Applejack sighed. “AB,” she said. Apple Bloom looked up at her sister. “You're not mad at me are ya’? You’re mad aren’t ya’?” She asked. “No, ah’m not mad at you. Ah’m just disappointed that you didn’t tell me about colt-friend earlier. Now, Ah’ understand why you ate Spike’s lunch.” She said. “And so do I.” A deep voice said from the front entrance. Applejack turned to see Spike standing in the doorway with his arms crossed in front of him. “Spike, you knew about this?” Applejack asked. “Nope, had no clue that she has a colt-friend. I just wanted to know why she ate my lunch.” “Then how can you understand what ah’m goin’ through?” Apple Bloom asked. “Bloom, i’ve lived with Twilight for my entire life, she’s had her fair share of heartbreak over the years. And I was the one who had to cheer her up all those times. You learn to get used to it after awhile.” He replied. “Well, ah guess that makes sense.” Applejack said. She looked to Spike. “So do you know how to solve the problem between her and her colt-friend?” She asked. Spike raised his hands in a defensive gesture. “Hey, don’t look at me. I only helped her through the heartbreak, I never actually saved any of her relationship’s. This is something that you guys have to do by yourselves.” He turned his head towards the barn doors. “Hmm, looks like it’s time for me to leave. I hope that you get this resolved, AB. See you Monday.” Spike said as he jogged off towards the library. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #9 Well, today was certainly interesting. I learned that Apple Bloom had and/or has a colt-friend. And that that was the reason she ate my lunch (I will revenge you my brown sack of orgasmic materials). I know that i’m good at cheering mares up when it comes to getting their heart broken(multiple times in-fact). But, i’m just no good at fixing relationships between couples. If I was, i’m sure Twilight would still have a colt-friend. I think the fact that her many relationships didn’t work out, is the main reason why she finds solace in books, and not actual friends(but that’s all changed since we moved here to Ponyville). I also found a great house not too far from the places I hang out most of the time(Dash’s Cloud Mansion, the Library, Sweet Apple Acres, etc.). And I just happen to have enough bits to buy it. I plan on moving this weekend. I’m sure Twilight will be sad, but i’m also pretty sure that she’ll be happy for me. Chapter 5Entry #10 Well, today is the day, the day that I move out of the library and into my new house. I guess that I should feel excited about this, but i’m not. I’ve realized that the library has been my home for the longest time. I have so many great memories here. I just don’t want to leave them behind. I also don’t want to leave Twi behind either. But I know that Owlowiscious will take care of her. He better, because if I find out that he’s not., i’ll be back here before he can make a sound. I guess that the one that should be sad is Twi. But surprisingly, she’s not. In fact, it’s like she’s trying to hurry me up and shove me out the door. Now that I think about it, that’s a little harsh. But I guess that’s just her way of handling things. I know that she feels different about this whole ordeal on the inside. How do I know? I saw a tear roll down her cheek this morning at breakfast. She thinks of me as her little brother, even though I am WAY taller than her. I don’t think she wants me to leave. It’s nearly time for me to get going. I’m supposed to be meeting Dash near her house so we can start to move my furniture into my house. Surprisingly enough, she’s stronger than I had expected. And I hate to admit this to myself, or anyone else for that matter, but I think that she looks kinda cute when she tries works hard. Yeah, I know that sounds awkward. But it’s true. I’m actually having a better time around her than any of my other friends. It’s strange though, everytime i’m around her, I feel something.... strange. I don’t know how to describe it, but i’ll try. It makes me feel like i’m around Rarity. Wait a minute, I couldn’t have a crush on Dash, could I? Ugh, just thinking about that makes my head hurt. Well, I gotta go now, if i’m late Dash will probably kill me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spike walked up the basement stair in the library for the last time. Well, it would be the last time he would while living there. He looked back down at his old room. He was very happy to be out of there, but at the same time. He didn’t want to leave. He turned back around and went onto the main floor. There he saw Twilight with a tissue wiping her eyes. She must have been crying while I was downstairs. He thought to himself. “Twilight,” He said quietly. “do you want to talk?” “No, Spike. I’m fine.” She sighed. “It’s just so hard for me to see you leave like this.” “You do know that i’ll be able to visit you whenever I want, right?” He asked her with a smug grin on his face. “Shut up, you’re ruining the moment.” Twilight chuckled softly. “That was a moment? I thought that was gas.” Spike said jokingly. Twilight seemed to stop for a moment. After a few seconds she started giggling. That giggling then grew into chuckling. And the chuckling, into laughter. “Okay, Twi. It wasn’t that funny.” Spike sighed. “But at least it cheered you up a little bit.” Once Twilight had stopped laughing, she looked up at Spike. “Spike,” She said, her tears returning. “I don’t want you to leave.” Spike saw Twilight starting to cry again and walked up to her and embraced her in a hug. “Come on, Twi. It’s not like i’m leaving Ponyville. I’ll come to see you whenever I can. Alright?” “Alright.” She sighed as she wiggled her way out of his hug. “Now, you should get going before Rainbow Dash thinks you blew her off.” Twilight said, getting back to her old self. “We wouldn’t want her to put you into the hospital again. Now would we?” “Twi, I told you not to bring that up. It’s embarrassing enough that I was beat up by a mare half of my size. But to add to that, I was put into a week long coma by the very same mare.” Twilight laughed, “I’m sorry Spike. I just couldn’t resist.” “Well, next time i’m here you better resist.” He said. Twilight just shook her head as he headed out the door. He’s growing up so fast. She thought to herself. Soon it’ll be time for him to start a family of his own. She smiled at the thought of Spike finding someone to spend the rest of his life with. She went back inside the library and closed the door. Well, I guess it’s time for a letter to the princess. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow Dash had been waiting near her house for over an hour. She knew that Twilight would probably be keeping him held up. But she didn’t think she would keep him this long. When she finally saw his tall figure walking towards her, she couldn’t help but start to hop in place. Apparently Spike had noticed this and when he arrived at her position, he asked her about it. “So, Dash. Why were you hopping around like Pinkie Pie once you saw me? You couldn’t have been that excited to see me.” Spike asked. Rainbow Dash stopped in mid-air. Come to think of it, why had she started to bounce up and down? She searched her head for some explanation, but found none. “Honestly Spike,” She started. “I have no idea why that happened. Let’s just hope that it never happens again.” “Aww, but you looked so cute when you did that.” He whined. For the second time today she started to act weird. This time it wasn’t hopping up and down in place. This time she was blushing heavily. Why am I blushing? She thought to herself. Lots of stallions call me ‘Cute’. So why should I be blushing when Spike said it? She wondered to herself. She shook her head clear of those thoughts and caught up with Spike. She would probably talk to Rarity about this later. This sort of thing seemed like something she would know about. “So, Dash. Are you ready to get started?” He asked. Rainbow Dash was so preoccupied with her thoughts that she hadn’t noticed that they had arrived at Spike’s new home. His things had already been moved inside, everything except for the furniture that would have to be carried in by Spike and Rainbow Dash. “Um, yeah, But I have one question before we get started.” She said. “And what would that be?” “Is all of your furniture made out of stone?” She asked as her eyes scanned over his furniture. If all of it was made from stone. It would be harder for her to carry it in. Spike seemed to notice their predicament. “Um, yeah. I’m afraid so. If you can’t carry the furniture inside, I can probably do all of the work.” He suggested. Rainbow Dash stared at him with wide eyes. “Are you crazy?!” She exclaimed. “You can’t do all of this work by yourself. It’ll be too much for you. We don’t want you to end up back in the hospital.” Spike suddenly became rigid and looked her straight in the eye. “And whose fault was it that I was in the hospital in the first place?” He asked. “Um, mine.” She squeaked. Spike stopped before speaking again. “Rainbow Dash, are you alright?” He asked. “Yeah, I feel fine. Why do you ask?” “Because you just sounded like Fluttershy. And everytime I come around you act strange. Is there anything that you want to tell me?” Spike said. “Um, no. I’m pretty sure that there isn’t anything I want to tell you.” Rainbow Dash answered. I hope he’s okay. Dash thought to herself, as she moved toward his furniture. Eager to start working and draw attention away from the way she was acting. He looked like he was gonna-- A loud thump interrupted her thoughts. It had come from behind her, where Spike had been. She quickly turned around and looked down upon his body. It took her brain a few moments to piece together what had just happened. When it finally did, she made her move. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While they had been talking, Spike had been thinking about what he had written in his journal that morning. If he did have a crush on Dash, which he decided that he did have one on her, he had to do something about it. But the question was, what could he do? I could go talk to someone about this. But who? Twilight is already out of the question. It was awkward enough talking about the ‘birds and the bees’. Rarity? Nah, she would probably over react and tell everypony she knows. Pinkie Pie, no. She’s too energetic. Applejack, maybe. I think that the best bet would have to be Fluttershy. Spike thought. With his decision made. He vowed to go talk to Fluttershy about his crush on Dash. Right after he got done moving into his house. What he didn’t notice though, was the way Rainbow Dash was acting whenever he was near her. But that changed when he noticed that she was blushing after he called her ‘cute’. Why is she blushing? I’m sure lot’s of stallions hit on her. Spike shook his head violently to clear his thoughts. No! Bad Spike! I am not hitting on her. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t shake those thoughts away. If I was hitting on her, would it really be that bad? He asked himself. But before he could find an answer, Rainbow Dash interrupted his thoughts. All his mind registered was a question. “And what would that be?” He answered, barely recognizing what he was saying. “Is all you're furniture made of stone?” She had asked. Oh, yeah. Spike thought as he looked over all of his furniture. That is going to be a problem. Well, a problem for Dash, at least. He looked back at Dash. “Um, yeah. I’m afraid so. If you can’t carry the furniture inside, I can probably do all of the work.” He suddenly found himself drifting off into unconsciousness. He tried to keep his eyes open but he only had enough strength to answer some of Dash’s questions. He barely noticed her walking away from him as he tried calling for help. His vision was almost entirely darkened. The last thing that he remembered before blacking out, was the sensation of falling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #2 Dear Celestia, I don’t what to do about all of this. This is the second time that Spike’s been sent to the hospital with me around. I hope none of the girls think that it’s me doing this to him. I would never do something like this to my friend’s. Nor would I wish for this to happen to anypony else! I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know how I feel about this either. I’m still not sure about my feelings for Spike, that’s if I have feelings towards him. I hope he turns out okay. When I picked him up to fly him here, he felt like he was on fire. The nurses had even told me that if I had gotten there a minute later than I had, I would have second degree burns on my skin. I think I need to talk to somepony about this, my feelings towards him I mean. Writing my thoughts down is supposed to help me clear my mind, but it’s not doing anything for me. I have to go, the nurses are insisting that I get some rest. We’ve already been waiting for him to wake up for three days. -Rainbow Dash Chapter 6Entry #3 Well, it’s been almost two weeks. He still hasn’t woken up. After talking to Nurse Redheart, I heard that they might pull the plug on him. The Princess has been visiting off and on. The girls seem to be running low on energy. Even Pinkie Pie, that was a surprise. I don’t know if they’ve given up hope, but I haven’t. Even though I don’t know how I feel about him yet, I don’t want to lose him. I don’t know what i’d do if I did. I said that I would talk to somepony about my feelings towards him in my last entry. But I never got around to it. I haven’t gotten much sleep over the past few days. His condition isn’t getting worse, but it isn’t getting better either. Multiple times i’ve had to get Twilight to put out fires. Nearly got burned one of those times. Anyways, i’ve got to go. I’m going over to see Rarity today, I hope she can help me. ~Rainbow Dash ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow Dash looked back at the hospital as she left. She didn’t want to leave, but she had to talk to somepony about the way she felt around him. As she made her way towards Ponyville, she noticed that the air had an eerie chill to it. Like something was waiting to happen. She just shook it off as nerves. When she made it onto the main road, she decided that it was something more than nerves. Where there would usually be multiple street vendors selling their goods, were empty stalls. From what she could see, it seemed like everypony just abandoned their belongings and went home. She slowly made her way past the empty stalls and to the Carousel Boutique. She tried opening the door, but found it locked. Hmm, strange. She thought to herself. Rarity never locks her door. I wonder what’s going on. She decided that it was best to fly up to her window and go in that way. Some may call it breaking and entering, but she calls it an invitation inside. As she slowly ascended to the second story window, she finally noticed the noise. We’re not talking about the usual noise of Ponyville. We’re talking about the fact that there was no noise to be heard. No animals, no wind, no leaves rustling. Just nothing. This was when she started to panic. Either she had missed out on something, or something bad was about to happen. She opened the second story window and went inside. After walking down the stairs to the main floor, she finally found Rarity. “Hey, Rares” She said, panic evident in her voice. From the reaction that Rainbow Dash got from Rarity, she hadn’t expected her to be in her home. “Oh, Rainbow Dash.” She said, “You startle me. I didn’t even hear you come in.” “That’s because I came in upstairs.” “Why didn’t you just use the front door?” Rarity asked. “Because it was locked.” “Then, why didn’t you knock?” Rainbow Dash opened her mouth to answer, but she didn’t have one. “I don’t know.” She answered, looking at the ground sheepishly. Rarity just shook her head and sighed. “Well, I suppose you came here for something. Am I correct?” Rainbow Dash looked back up at Rarity. “Yeah, I wanted to ask you something.” “About what?” Rarity asked, suspicion clear in her eyes. “Um.... I m-might have a s-small crush on somepony.” She said, stuttering. She immediately regretted coming to Rarity once she saw her friends’ eyes light up. When she started hopping around like Pinkie Pie, is when she started to worry. “Okay, Rarity. Can you calm down? It’s no big deal.” Rarity stopped hopping and stared at Dash. “No big deal?! How can you say that! Love is not a matter to be taken lightly.” She stated. “That’s just it, Rarity. I don’t know if I love him.” “You don’t know if you love him? That could be a small problem.” Rarity said, tapping her chin with her hoof. “Well, tell me how you act around him.” “I-It’s kinda hard to explain. But i’ve been acting strangely around him. This has just recently started. In fact I think it was maybe three weeks ago. Anyways, whenever he’s near-by, I always find it hard to talk. I always try to act cool or try to ignore the compliments he gives me.” Rarity held up her hoof, signaling for Rainbow Dash to stop talking. “Hold on, Darling. You’re saying that you ignore his compliments? Why on earth would you do that?” “It just makes me embarrassed. I’ve had many stallions hit on me before, but when he does it, he does it without knowing he does it. If that makes any sense.” “It does, you’re saying that he ‘hits’ on you without meaning to. Am I correct?” Rarity asked. Rainbow Dash nodded. “That’s exactly what I meant. Anyways, does that mean I love him?” “Well, looking at the signs. I’d say it does.” Rarity said smiling. “Now that we’ve gotten that cleared, who is this stallion that’s stolen you're heart, so to speak.” Rainbow Dash looked uneasily up at Rarity. “W-Well, you see. Um.... I-It’s...” She paused and bit her lip. She had been dreading this part. She knew that Rarity would eventually ask her that question. And she had been trying to prepare herself for it. But she just couldn’t find the courage that she had moments ago. “Darling, if you don’t want to tell me, you don’t have to. I know that it must’ve been terribly difficult for you to come here and talk to me.” She said, resting her hoof on Rainbow Dash’s shoulder. “No, it’s alright, Rarity. I know that I have to do this. The stallion that I love isn’t a stallion.” When she saw Rarity look at her with an expression of confusion on her face, she knew that she needed to rephrase her answer. Dash sighed, “The stallion that I love isn’t a stallion. He’s a dragon.” When the look of confusion still didn’t leave her face. She gave in. “Rarity, I love Spike.” Just hearing herself say it lifted up her spirits. She smiled and said it again. “I love Spike.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rarity saw the look of happiness on Rainbow Dash’s face when she said it. To be honest, she was fairly surprised that Dash was in love with someone. Even more so when she found that someone to be her little Spikey-Wikey. Although, he wasn’t so little anymore. “Are you sure?” Rarity asked. For some weird reason, she was hoping that she had just hear Rainbow Dash incorrectly. That she had said somepony else’s name. Anyone’s instead of Spikes’. Rainbow Dash looked up at her, confused. “Yes, i’m absolutely certain that I am in love with Spike.” She said. “I thought that you would be happy for me. If you are, you sure aren’t acting like it.” Rarity shook her head and put on a forced smile. “What do you mean, Darling? Of course i’m happy for you. But what about Spike? He’s still in a coma. What if he--” Rarity didn’t finish her sentence before Dash interrupted her. “Please,” Dash said with tears in her eyes. “I don’t want to think about that now.” She removed her hoof from Rarity’s mouth. “I don’t know what i’d do if I lost him.” She sighed. “I’m just hoping that he wakes up soon.” Rainbow Dash soon felt herself wrapped in Rarity’s embrace. “We all hope that he wakes up soon, Darling. Even if we don’t seem like it. Although, from what I can see. You care about him the most, next to Twilight, of course.” Rarity exited the embrace and smiled at Rainbow Dash. “I just want you to know, that i’ll be here if you need anything.” “Thanks, Rarity. You really are a great friend.” Dash replied, wiping away a few leftover tears. “I just hope the other’s will be as accepting as you are.” “I’m sure that they’ll support you and Spike. That reminds me, does Spike share you're feelings?” “I-I’m not sure. I was so preoccupied with finding out if I loved him that I didn’t consider that he might not feel the same way about me. Oh, this is bad. What if he feels disgusted that I have feelings towards him. Oh man, this was a bad idea in the first place. I should’ve just ignored these feelings.” Rainbow Dash panicked. Pacing around the Boutique, before being stopped by Rarity. “Darling, you musn’t think like that. That is a possibility, but another possibility is that he feels the same way towards you. But we can’t know for sure until he wakes up.” Rarity said. While she was radiating confidence on the outside, on the inside she was worried for him. What if he doesn’t wake up? What will happen then. I’ve already seen what happens to Rainbow Dash when she just thinks about him not making it through, i’d just hate to see her if he doesn’t make it through. She was jolted out of her thoughts when Rainbow Dash started to speak again. “You’re right, Rarity. I can’t think about those things. If things don’t work out between us, i’m sure that we can still be good friends.” She said with a large smile. “Thank you, Rarity.” She said as she gave her friend a hug. She turned to leave but stopped before exiting the shop. “Rarity, I am wondering something.” “And what are you wondering, dear?” :Do you know why there isn’t a single pony in the market? When I came here, it was very quiet and empty. That’s why I looked panicked when I came downstairs.” She explained. “Hmmm... Well, I was out there a few minutes before you came over. And there weren’t many ponies in the market. I do suppose that they would be at the Town Hall.” “Town Hall? Why are they at the Town Hall?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Oh, that’s right. You were with Spike when Mayor Mare announced it.” “Announced what?” “That Princess Celestia and Luna are coming to Ponyville for an extended stay. She’s already messaged Twilight about it. She’s coming to Ponyville to see if she can help Spike in any way possible.” “Are you sure?” “Yes, darling. Why do you ask?” “Because when I passed the Town Hall, in was complete and utter silence. There wasn’t a single sound coming from there. In fact, there isn’t a single noise in Ponyville. It was actually pretty creepy. Almost like a horror movie I watched the other day.” “Darling, I really don’t have time to hear about those gruesome movies you watch. Besides, aren’t we supposed to be seeing Spike right now?” She asked. At the mention of Spike, Rainbow Dash’s face lit up. “Well, what are we waiting for?” Dash asked as she bounded out the door. Rarity just chuckled and followed her outside. Locking the Boutique behind her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #4 Today was interesting to say the least. I learned that I love Spike. It still brings a smile to my face whenever I say that. I’ve decided against telling the others until I know how Spike feels towards me. Even though I don’t want to admit it, it is a possibility that he doesn’t share my feelings. His condition hasn’t changed since this morning. The girls’ morale is low. I just don’t know what to do. Even after everything that has happened today, I can’t find it in me to cheer them up. I also can’t seem to shake the feeling that something big is about to happen. I don’t know if it was just my imagination or not. I don’t want to tell the girls about it, in case they tell me to go get some rest. I really don’t want to leave his side. I also think that Fluttershy is starting to suspect something. She’s been looking at me strangely. And whenever I look back at her, she just smiles. Like she know’s something. And that alone creeps me out. She could know where I hid the body. No, but seriously, i’ll have to talk to her when I get the chance. Which I hope will be sooner than two weeks. ~Rainbow Dash Bonus Chapter!A/N: I know that I'm supposed to put this at the end. But you need to read this first. This bonus chapter is inspired by the guest chapter from the great story 'Good Things Come' by greatodyer. It's set in an alternate timeline where Spike doesn't disappear in front of Rainbow Dash, but gets better and they continue their relationship. Eventually, they get married and continue from there. I aimed for this to be a tearjerker, Enjoy! *-*-*-*-* Spike burst through the hospitals double doors and rushed to the receptionist's desk. "How is she?!" He asked the mare sitting behind the desk. "I'm sorry. Who are you looking for?" She asked. Spike sighed, Of course it had to be today the new receptionist was here He thought to himself. "My wife, I want to know how she's doing." "Okay, what's her name?" She asked. "Her name is 'Rainbo-" He began to speak, but was stopped by a voice coming from behind him. "Spike, I assume that you're here to see her?" The pony asked. Spike turned around and looked at the stallion in front of him. "Yes, Dr. Hayes. I'm here to see her. I got a letter saying that she was critical. Is it true?" He asked. The doctor just sighed. "I really wish it wasn't, Spike. But yes, it's true. She went critical a few hours ago. We don't think she has much time left." He said solemnly. "I-I understand. How long does she have left?" Spike asked, trying to hold back his tears. "We think she has at least until morning. If you want, you can stay with her until then." "I...I think I'll do that. Thank you for telling me this doctor." "It's not a problem, Spike. I'll tell the staff to stay away from her room." Spike lowered his head and turned towards the patient wing. He was starting to walk towards the doors when he stopped. "Thank you, doctor. For everything that you've done for us." With that said, Spike resumed making his way to his beloved's room. Trying to mentally prepare himself for the inevitable. *-*-*-*-* Spike stood in front of Dash's hospital room. He had been standing there for at least twenty minutes. He sighed and looked up at the room number. 12. Spike chuckled. He still remembered the time decades ago when Dash broke her wing and was stuck here for a week. He smiled as his mind started to wander down memory lane. He was jolted from a certain pleasant memory by a fought hacking cough coming from inside the room. His smile disappeared as he reached for the door handle. He opened the door and walked in. He looked over at Dash's bed and nearly recoiled at the sight. She looked worse than before. He walked over to her bedside. "Hey, Dash. How you doing?" He asked. Dash strained to look up at him. "Spike?" She asked, her breathing tubes shifting as she spoke. Spike sat down next to her bed and smiled. “Yes, Dash. It’s me. How are you feeling?” He asked. Rainbow Dash was quiet for a few moments before speaking. “I feel fine, just a little tired. How’s things back home?” “Everything's fine at the house. You don’t have to worry. Scoots is watching the house while I'm here. She can’t wait to see you again.” He said. “That’s good. How are her foals doing?” Spike sighed, “They’re doing very good. Like I said, they can’t wait to see you once you get out of the hospital.” “Spike?” Dash asked. “Yes?” “Please, don’t lie to me.” She said. “Dash, I don’t know what-” “I know that I don’t have much time left. Not that hard to figure out when I can’t remember even being put into the hospital.” She chuckled. “And just because I'm old, doesn’t mean that I can’t hear.” “Dash, don’t talk like that. You’re going to be fine.” Spike said, his voice starting to waver. Dash tried to sigh, which only resulted in a hacking cough. “I know this is hard for you, Spike. But there’s nothing that can be done.” She sighed, this time successful. “I’m an old mare that has lived a full life, and you’re not even an adult dragon. You still have many, many years left.” Spike finally gave in, “And I hope that they will be as wonderful as the ones with you were.” He smiled at her and kissed her cheek. “Hey, Dash.” She looked up at him. “Remember when we first confessed our feelings?” She nodded. “You had just woken up from a coma and I was worried about you. I told you how I felt, and you told me the same thing.” Spike smiled, “And that’s when we shared our first kiss. I don’t think I could have been happier than at that moment.” He admitted. “I can think of a time when you were happier.” Dash spoke up. His smile grew, “The day of our wedding.” They said in unison. He chuckled for a moment at the memory. A single tear made it’s way down his cheek. This did not go unnoticed by Dash. “Spike?” He looked at her. “Do you remember the song that played at the party?” She asked. “Yes, I remember it.” “Could you sing it to me?” He closed his eyes and smiled. “For you, Dash. I would do anything.” He cleared his throat and began. Here I am waiting, I’ll have to leave soon Why am I still holding on? We knew this day would come, we knew it all along How did it, come so fast? This is our last night but it's late And I'm trying not to sleep Cause I know, when I wake, I will have to slip away. Spike couldn’t take any more and started to cry. He didn’t want to let her go, but he had to. He knew he had to. He just kept on singing. And when the daylight come I’ll have to go But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own But tonight I need to hold you so close He stopped for a few moments to regain his composure. He felt a hoof wipe a tear from his face. He smiled and held the cyan hoof in his claw. He continued to sing. Here I am staring at your perfection In my arms so beautiful The sky is getting bright the stars are burning out Somebody slow it down He slowed down for a moment as he saw Dash close her eyes. He looked over at the heart monitor, and saw it beginning to slow down. He looked back at her, then continued. This is way too hard, cause I know When the sun comes up, I will leave This is my last glance that will soon be memory And when the daylight comes i’ll have to go But tonight i’m gonna hold you so close Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own But tonight I need to hold you so close He stopped singing when he heard the monitor flat line. He looked at Dash and saw a smile on her face. He couldn’t hold it any longer. He started sobbing, his tears soaking the bed that she was laying in. He didn’t even move when he heard the door open. Nor when a white feathery wing was draped over him. “Shh, shh. It’ll be fine.” Celestia said. “How can it be fine?” Spike sobbed, “I loved her, and now she’s gone.” “She may be gone, but you still have your family.” “Aunt Celestia?” Came a small filly’s voice. “Is mommy sleeping?” Spike looked over at his daughter, “Yes, sweetie. Mommy’s asleep. Let’s leave her be so she can get some rest. Okay?” “Alright, daddy.” She looked over at her aunt. “You said we were going to see Lulu. Where is she?” Celestia chuckled, “Don’t worry, my little pony. We’ll see her soon. But for now, let’s go get some ice-cream. How’s that sound?” The filly started jumping in place, “Yay! Ice-cream! Can I get sapphires in mine?” She asked. Celestia nodded, “You can get whatever you want in yours.” She said as they left the room. Spike smiled and looked down at Dash. “I’ll miss you, Dash. I promise I will take care of our daughter. I have to be strong for her. Goodbye, I love you.” And with that, Spike left the room to catch up to his daughter. Dash was right, he still had many years of his life left, and he had someone to spend them with. Someone who was like her mother in many ways. PrologueThe Legacy of Spike Prologue Entry #1 Twilight gave each of us a journal for Hearth's Warming Eve. She said that we could write down whatever we were feeling in it. I have a feeling that the others will most likely do it. I don’t know about Rainbow Dash though. I don’t really see her as the type to do any sort of work. Heh, i’m glad that nopony but me is ever going to read this. Anyways, i’ve been feeling very sick for the past few weeks. Twilight says that it’s just the flu, i’m having a hard time believing her. I know that it’s much more than just the common cold. She keeps telling me to take it easy, but I feel horrible for abandoning my chores. I’m just glad that I have something to keep me occupied for the time being. Entry #2 My friends keep on coming over to check up on me. The pain keeps getting worse, I don’t know how long I haven’t slept. I just hope that it ends soon. I think that Twilight is finally getting worried. The common flu shouldn’t last this long, and frankly, i'm starting to get scared. I don’t know what weaknesses dragon’s have, and i’m pretty sure that I don’t want to find out. The pain starts in my shoulder blades, it feels like something is piercing my skin, or transforming my bones. It hurts so much. I’m surprised that i’m still able to think straight enough to write this down. It’s getting late, the painkiller’s that Fluttershy gave me are wearing off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Argh!!” Spike moaned, tossing and turning in his small basket. Tonight the pain was the worst it had ever been. Twilight was right next to him trying to comfort him. He acted as if she wasn’t there. “Spike, calm down. I-I’m going to get help. Ok, Spike?” She asked, her voice cracking with worry. The dragon just continued to groan in pain. Twilight winced when she tried to imagine what he was going through. The thought that he was finally maturing had crossed her mind multiple times. But right now, the only thing on her mind was helping ease the pain the young dragon was going through. She galloped down the stairs and didn’t bother to grab her saddlebags before leaving the library. Her first stop was Sugarcube Corner, the home to her fellow Element of Harmony, Pinkie Pie. She burst through the front door not bothering with greetings. She quickly went upstairs to the pink mare’s room. She knocked the door off of it’s hinges and grabbed Pinkie who was sleeping peacefully in her bed. “Huh? Wha?” She jolted from her slumber when Twilight began shaking her shoulders. “Oh! Hi, Twilight! How are you doing?” She asked cheerfully. However, when she noticed her friends disheveled state. “Twilight? Is there something wrong?” She asked. “Pinkie, there’s no time for talking!” She said hurriedly. “Just go back to the library and watch Spike. I think something big is going to happen tonight.” She didn’t wait for her friend to respond before bolting out of the bakery. Pinkie was just standing there with a blank expression on her face. When the Twilight’s words finally sunk in, she made her way to the door and opened it. Unfortunately, she was stopped by the owners of the bakery: Mr. and Mrs. Cake. “Pinkie, where are you going at this time of night? Not planning another party are you?” Mrs.Cake asked groggily. “No time to explain, I just need to head over to the library. Twilight said that Spike’s pain is the worst it has been.” She said rushing out of the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight had gathered most of her friends fairly fast. All of them except for Rainbow Dash. She had been in Cloudsdale the entire week. She hadn’t known of Spike’s worsening condition. Fluttershy didn’t want to leave Spike in fear that when something bad happened to him, she wouldn’t be there. She was currently making her way to her home as fast as her aching legs could carry her. By the time she made it, everypony was in the main room. Twilight looked around at the group, she saw that most of them had tears in their eyes. A few of them had blood on their hooves. She immediately assumed the worse. “Girls, where’s Spike?! Why is there blood on your hooves?! Is that his blood?!” She started blurting out questions. Applejack walked over to her and shook her shoulders to snap her out of her panicked state. “Twilight, don’t worry. Spike’s fine. This is his blood, but everything’s alright. Ah’ believe that we should let you see fer yourself. Right, girls?” Applejack asked the group behind her. All of them answered with a nod, except for Rarity who was quietly sniffing to herself. Applejack looked up the staircase and called out. “Spike! You can come down now. Twilight’s here.” Twilight heard a few bumps coming from the upstairs bathroom. She started to make her way towards the stairs to see if Spike was alright, but was stopped by an orange hoof. Twilight looked over at Applejack who just kept Twilight back. A few moments later, a figure as big as Big Macintosh walked down the stairs on all fours. “Ugh, I don’t understand how you guys can walk on all fours. It was much easier when I just had to worry about two legs.” A deep male voice said. Twilight was shocked that the deep voice belonged to her number one assistant, Spike. When he walked out of the shadow’s, everypony gasped. “What? Is there something wrong?” He asked. “Uh, sugarcube? You do know that you have wings now, right?” Applejack asked. “Yeah, it’s no big deal. I was supposed to grow them eventually, right?” “Spike, you were supposed to grow them. Just not this early. You’re not even a teenager yet.” Twilight said. Spike gave her an ‘Are you kidding me?’ look. “Seriously, Twi? You don’t even know how old I am? I turned sixteen last month. You told me that dragon’s my age usually had their wings by age thirteen.” Spike grumbled. “You also said that I was a useless, wingless dragon who would never learn to fly!” He practically shouted. “Spike! You know that I would never say something like that! How could you even think that?” Twilight shouted. “Because you did say something like that. You got drunk on my birthday when Pinkie Pie spiked the punch. Everypony did, except me. I knew better. I guess you guys didn’t.” Spike said. “I know that you didn’t mean that, Twi. But it still hurts to hear it from somepony who I think of as a mother.” Everypony in the room gasped. “Spike, I didn’t know you thought of me as your mother. I’m so sorry.” Twilight finished, tears streaking down her lavender cheeks. “I know, Twi. I know.” Spike said, dragging Twilight into an embrace. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #3 I know that Twilight didn’t mean that. But it still hurts me. I was depressed for an entire week after that incident. Heh, but not as much as growing wings in the middle of the night. I mean, those things pop out of your back with no warning! I’m surprised that I managed to stay conscious during the entire ordeal. Funny thing is, when I grew my wings, my tiny basket that I sleep in, broke. I literally crushed it with my added weight. Wait, did I just insult myself? Buck, I gotta watch what I write down. I heard that RD is coming back tomorrow, I have to ask her a question. That is, if she doesn’t kick my flank first. She’ll probably think I ‘ate’ Spike. Maybe I should act like i’m going through greed growth again. Eh, maybe not. I already went through enough blood and pain for the rest of my life. Hmmm, I wonder if dragon’s have a special trick that they can perform, like pegasi with the Sonic Rainboom. Well, at this moment it’s just RD who can do that trick. Chapter 3The Legacy of Spike Chapter 3 Entry #6 Finally! Today, Twilight said that I might be able to get out. They kept me here just so they could watch me. I am finally completely healed. I still have to be careful with what I do for a few days, but Twilight knows that’s not gonna happen. After all, I am *very** eager to start flying. The Cutie Mark Crusaders don’t know about this whole... ‘situation’, yet. I’m probably going to prank them.I understand why RD hates hospital’s. I mean, there food tastes like cardboard. And trust me, i’ve eaten cardboard before(thanks to a dare from RD and Scoots). The painkiller’s that they are giving me, work very well. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain I would be in if they didn’t use the medicine.* -Spike ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Okay, Spike. It’s time for your painkiller’s.” Nurse Redheart said cheerfully, grabbing the quickly diminishing bottle of pills on the nightstand. “So, Redheart.” Spike said while swallowing the pills. “Do you know when I can leave?” He asked. “Actually, you’ve been able to leave for the last couple of hours. We just need you to sign the form so you can leave.” She said. “But, doesn’t Twilight usually sign that thing?” “Yes, she usually does. But, in this case. You’re now old enough to do these things for yourself. So you don’t need her permission for anything anymore. Well, not everything. There are still some things that you need to run by her before you do them.” She explained. “So, are you ready to leave?” She asked him. “Yeah! Uh, no offense, Redheart. It’s just that the food here tastes horrible and I haven’t had a gem in a couple of days. So, where’s the form?” Nurse Redheart walked out of Spike’s room and came back a few moments later with a clipboard in her hooves.”It’s right here. You just need to sign here, initial here, and fingerprint here.” She said, pointing to each location with her hoof. Spike signed in the designated spots. After he was done, he got a sling for his arm and headed out of the hospital. Finally He thought to himself. I’ve waited long enough to get out of there. I wonder where Rainbow Dash is. His emerald eyes searched the cloud’s above him. After a few minutes of searching, his eyes spotted a multi-colored tail. “Hey, Rainbow Dash!” He called to his friend. She turned over in her sleep and rolled off of the cloud. “Shit.” He whispered to himself. He took off sprinting to where she was going to crash. Almost there. He thought. In a last ditch attempt, he dived right beneath her as she crashed into his back. The crash jolted her awake. “Huh? Wha? Oh, Spike. It’s just you. Wait, how’d you get up on my cloud?” She asked, drowsily. “I didn’t come up to your cloud. You rolled off it in your sleep. You would’ve broken something if I didn’t happen to make a soft landing pad for you. Has anypony ever told you that you’re a heavy sleeper?” He asked. “Uh, yeah. I get that alot.” She replied, a blush creeping up on her face. “So, when did you get out of hospital?” Rainbow Dash asked. “I just got out about one hour ago. Why do you ask?” “I wanted to know what the rude interruption of my nap was for.” “Ok, i’ll tell you once you get off my back. Don’t want anymore broken ribs, now do we?” “Oh, i’m so sorry, Spike.” Rainbow Dash said, jumping off of his back. “Now, can you please tell me why you needed me?” She asked. He got up and brushed off some dust that had stuck to him. “I needed you so I could see what time we were going to start my training. I was also thinking of bringing along a friend. If that’s okay with you.” He said. “Oh...Uh. Well, what time do you wanna start?” She asked. “And, yes. It’s fine with me if you bring one of your friends along. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?” She said jokingly. Spike opened his mouth to reply, when he got a mouthful of blue hoof stopping him. “Do not even begin that sentence.” Rainbow Dash removed her hoof from his mouth, and wiped it on a random passerby. “But, you don’t even know what I was going to say.” He said. “Oh, do I? You were probably going to tell me exactly what could go wrong. And, right now. I don’t wanna hear it. Got it?” She asked. “Sir, yes, sir--er--Ma’am.” Spike saluted, standing at attention. “So, you want to learn how to fly?” She asked. “Uh, Dash. Before we start, can I go get my friend?” He asked. “Oh, yeah, Sure, just make sure your friend is a pegasus, ok?” “Obviously.” Spike said as he ran off to get his friend: Scootaloo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spike was currently standing outside of the CMC’s clubhouse in Sweet Apple Acres. He was wondering if this was a good idea after all. He knew how unpredictable the Cutie Mark Crusaders were. They could end the world if they wanted to(of course he was exaggerating, hopefully). “Okay, now I just need to find a way to fit inside their clubhouse. I know that i’m too big to fit inside it anymore. Oh! Wait, I can just call them out.” He said to himself. “Hey, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo. Can you come out here for a second?!” He shouted . He was waiting for a couple of minutes when he saw them walk out. “Who do you think is calling us?” Sweetie Belle asked. “Ah’ don’t know! It didn’t sound like anypony we know.” Apple Bloom said. Scootaloo was going to comment, when she saw Spike. Hey eyes immediately widened. “D-Dragon!” They all shouted in unison. They scrambled back into the clubhouse and slammed the door shut. “G-Go away! There aren’t any fillies in here!” One of them shouted. “Eenope, no fillies in here.” Apple Bloom shouted. Spike sighed. “Girls, I know you’re in there. Why don’t you come on out and i’ll explain everything. I’ll try to leave the gory details out. Besides, I can’t stay here all day. We wouldn’t want to leave Rainbow Dash hangin’, now would we?” Spike smirked. He heard the fumbling of a lock come soon after. All three fillies tried to squeeze themselves through the doorway at the same time. Scootaloo was the first to recover. “Who are you?! And what have you done to Rainbow Dash?” She screamed. “Oh, it’s not what I did to her, but what she did to me. Apple Bloom, didn’t AJ tell you that I was in the hospital? Same for you Sweetie Belle. Hopefully, Rarity at least mentioned something.” “Well, my sis did say something about Spike in the hospital...” Sweetie Belle looked up at Spike with a smile. “Spike! You’re okay!” She yelled, running up to him and embracing him in a hug. “Yeah, Sweetie, i’m fine.” Spike looked up at the other Crusader’s. “But, that’s not why i’m here.” He specifically looked over at Scootaloo. “Hey, Scoots,” She looked at him. “How would you like to come with me to my flying lessons. With Rainbow Dash, might I add.” He said smiling. She gasped. “With the most cool-est, awesom-est, radical-est pegasus in Equestria?” She exclaimed, Spike nodded. “YES!” She yelled at the top of her lungs. “Ok, hop on.” He said, crouching down. Scootaloo hopped on and blushed. Spike chuckled and ran off towards the waiting Rainbow Dash. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Hey, Dash!” Spike shouted. He spotted the mare dozing off in the clouds above them. “Hey, Rainbow Dash! I got my friend!” The cyan mare turned around and her eyes widened. “Scootaloo! Your Spike’s friend?” She asked. “Yeah, is that so surprising, Dash?” Spike asked. “She’s been my friend for a couple of year’s. Ever since her and the other Cutie Mark Crusaders tried getting their Cutie Marks in dragon ‘slaying’ we’ve been very good friends. “Well, it’s kind of surprising. I mean, she’s been trying to get me to train her for like, ever! Ugh, now I have two foal’s to train.” She sighed. “Wait, Spike. What is this about ‘training’ me?” Scootaloo asked. “Oh, she just said that I could bring a friend to tag along to train with me. And I guess that’s you.” He said smirking. From Rainbow Dash’s point of view, she could she Scootaloo blushing. She smirked. She knew the signs of love from spending so much time around Rarity. “Ok. So, let’s get started.” Rainbow Dash said. They trained for the next three hours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Entry #7 Wow, today really took a lot of breath from me. I never suspected the training exercises to be so difficult. Sadly, I have to go through the rest of the week’s training. But, so does Scootaloo. I’m pretty sure she had a crush on me or something. I mean, i’m not *that** oblivious. I know RD knows it too. I think i’ll have a talk with her a couple of weeks from now. Don’t wanna ask her too early, or too late.* -Spike Chapter 7 Twilight and her friends had just entered the hospital. They were here to visit their beloved friend, Spike. Possible for the very last time. That was something none of them wanted to think about. Especially Twilight and Rainbow Dash. They were walking up to the receptionist when a doctor stopped them. “You’re Twilight, correct?” He asked. Twilight looked at him, unsure. “Um... Yes, I am. Is there something wrong?” She asked, she was desperately hoping that he didn’t have any bad news to bring. “No, in-fact. It’s quite the opposite. Spike has just woken up, he’s still a bit groggy, but he’s doing well. We were all surprised when we heard noises coming from his room. We were sure that someone had broken in and stolen something. Much like last time.” He finished, glaring at Rainbow Dash. In reply, she smiled sheepishly. “He-he, sorry about that, again.” “Just don’t let it happen again.” He scolded. “Anyways, I am sure that you all want to visit Spike. So if you would just follow me, he’s right this way.” He motioned to a long hallway. “When he woke up, we had to move him into a different room. There were other patients that needed to be put into ICU and we were running out of beds. Luckily he woke up when he did. If he didn’t, I couldn’t imagine what we would do.” The group of ponies arrived at room 105. “So, I think that i’ll leave you all to it. I have other patients to take care of. If he needs anything, just call and a nurse will be on her way.” With that, the doctor left the girls outside of the room. None of them had the nerves to open the door. They hadn’t spoken to him in almost an entire month. They knew that they had to tell him how long he had been out for, but they were afraid to. Finally, Fluttershy, of all ponies, managed to gather the courage and opened the door. She squee’d in excitement when she saw Spike awake and breathing. The next thing she did was run up to him and give him a hug. “Oh, Spike. I’m sooo~ glad that you’re okay. We were all so worried about you.” She said, tears welling up in her eyes. “Um, Fluttershy? Can you please get off of me? You just landed in my food.” He said, slightly annoyed. “Oh dear. I’m so sorry, Spike. Um, we can leave if you want privacy to eat.” She said, reverting back to her normal self. “Nah, it’s fine. Besides, this stuff tastes like cardboard.” He said, shoving his plastic tray away from his body. “So, what’ve you guys been up to while i’ve been in a coma for a month or so?” He said, like it was no big deal. “H-How’d you find out?” Twilight asked. “It’s not that hard to figure out, Twi. I just looked at the calendar.” He stated, pointing over at the calendar fixed to the wall. “Oh, well that makes sense.” For the next few moments, Spike and the girls remained in awkward silence. “You still haven’t answered my question.” “Oh, right!” Twilight said, snapping back to reality. “Um, well nothing’s changed in the library, or Ponyville for that matter.” “Yeah, I suspected that. I really wanted to know what’s happened in you're lives. Like if any of you are dating. Things of that matter.” Spike asked, his cheeks growing red with a blush. Twilight noticed the he seemed to be avoiding eye contact with Dash, who now had a blush on her face. From spending so much time around Rarity, she knew that the two loved each other. "Actually, Spike. Most of us have some important errands to run. Isn't that right, Girls?" Twilight said, shoving the other girls out of the room, except for Rainbow Dash. She then looked at Spike and Rainbow Dash and said, "Don't have too much fun while we're gone. Okay?" They both nodded. With that, they left Spike and Rainbow Dash alone. Not that Spike could do anything about it. He was the one who was stuck in the hospital. Spike glanced over at Rainbow Dash, who was still avoiding his eyes. "So, Dash. You going out with anypony?" He asked her. She looked over at him, clearly surprised at his question. She was silent for a few moments before coming up with an answer. "Um, no. Nopony has' asked me out and, to be honest, I doubt anypony will." She said dejectedly. "Dash, what are you talking about?" Spike asked, looking at Dash is disbelief. "You are a beautiful mare, Rainbow Dash. Any stallion should consider themselves lucky to be with you. There isn't a single thing that I hate about you. It's super fun to be around you, you always are there when somepony needs help, I don't know about other guys. But that's a mare that I'd want to date." Spike finished, putting a claw on her shoulder of Rainbow Dash. Who was now crying softly. "You really think that?" She asked, smiling warmly at him. Spike blushed, "Yes, I do. In fact, I-I've thought that about you for a long time now. Ever since we started spending more time together. I don’t know if you feel the same way about me, and to be honest, I don’t care. I love you, Dash. And nothing anypony says or does, will change that.” Spike looked up at Dash, she had a shocked expression on her face. “D-Dash, are you-” Spike began, but he was interrupted by a pair of lips meeting his. Wow, her lips are really soft. If I died right now, I wouldn’t care. I just want to cherish this moment. He thought to himself. He didn’t even notice when she pulled back. Once he got back to reality, he asked the question that had just entered his mind. Or at least he tried to. “Why’d you kiss me?” “I-I kinda l-l-love you to, Spike.” She said, sheepishly. “When?” Was the only thing that Spike could reply with. “I’m not entirely sure, but I think it was around the time we started hanging out in-between sessions. That’s the main reason that I turned down all the stallions who asked me out. And let me tell you, there were a lot.” Dash said, shaking her head. “So let me get this straight, you turned down any stallion that asked you out? Just because you fell in love with me?” Rainbow Dash nodded and hovered over the bed. She was about to reply, but Spike’s tail wrapped around her abdomen and pulled her towards him. Dash’s mind was starting to get cloudy, H-He’s not gonna do what I think he’s going to do, is he? She asked herself, mentally. Turns out, he didn’t do what she thought he was going to do, much to her disappointment. He simply returned the kiss she gave him earlier. When he pulled back, he asked her a question. “I guess that this means we’re dating, huh?” Spike said, with Rainbow Dash nuzzling up against him. Rainbow Dash looked up at him and smiled. “I hope it does, otherwise this would be really awkward.” “Does this answer you're question?” He said, leaning in for another kiss, this one seemed to last longer than the first two. Which made Dash very happy. But is also seemed to be gentler, it seemed as if Spike was trying to prolong the touching moment. Around that time is when Dash knew something was wrong. That’s when she felt his scales getting hotter and hotter. Eventually, she had to get off of him and the bed to cool her body down. When her hooves had stopped burning, she looked over at Spike and nearly screamed. Spike’s entire body was on fire, from his spiky toes to the fins on his head. Rainbow Dash could clearly see through the flames, Spike’s expression was oddly calm, like he knew this was going to happen. But yet, he was crying, the tears barely exiting his eyes before evaporating in the flames. Rainbow Dash heard him say something to her, but she barely registered it in her mind. The one pony that she had feelings for, was dying right in front of her eyes, and she couldn’t do a single thing about it. By that time, the doctors and nurses had been notified of the fire via fire alarm. The girls had left the hospital after Twilight and Rarity explained that the two were in love with each other. But now they were running towards the room that Spike was in. Praying to Celestia that he and Dash were alright. They breathed a sigh of relief when the saw Dash in the waiting room, being treated for burns by the doctor and nurses. But they all stopped when they saw the expression of pure sadness on her face. Sadness like you would have at a funeral. Dash saw her friends and walked up to them, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Thank Celestia, you're okay." Twilight said as she embraced her friend. "We all heard the sirens and rushed over here as fast as we could. What were those sirens for? Is Spike alright?" She asked. "He's gone" She replied, her voice empty of all emotion. "What do you mean 'He's gone'?" Rarity asked. "What does it sound like I meant?!" Dash snapped. "He's gone! Dead! And it's all my fault." She sighed, "I'm sorry, it's just that-that I could have saved him. When he was on fire, I could have saved him, but all I did was stand there. And watch, I watched while he died." Dash said somberly. “Dash, I don't expect any of us to know what you're going through right now. But I know that we will be there for you." Twilight's voice cracked. "You can probably see that I'm trying to hold back my tears." "It's not working very well." Dash said as she saw all of her friends crying, trying to comfort each other. "Dash, I know that all of us will miss him. But he wouldn't want you to dwell on this. I'm not telling you to forget him entirely, I'm just saying that even though it will take a long time to heal, he would want you to get on with your life. He didn't tell us about him dying because he didn't want you, or us, to worry. I think that we all know we wouldn't have left his room if that were the case." Twilight finished. "I have to agree with Twilight on this one, Dear. I doubt he would've wanted you to stay like this. All of us will have to get used to him not being here." Rarity said. "Throughout all the years he's helped me, I have never seen him put his needs over those of his friends. He would do anything for you, Dash. Don't you forget that." Rainbow Dash looked over all of her friends, each of them were smiling warmly at her. She could see that they were trying to be strong, for her. “And right before he died,” Twilight said, trying not to cry. “What did he do?” “He-He kissed me. And said that he loved me.” She said, finally said. "See, Dash? He said that he loved you, that's why he wanted to speak to you in private. You made his last moments of his life, the best moments of his life." Twilight said, embracing her cyan friend once again. Rainbow Dash smiled weakly. "I guess you're right, Twi. Thank you, I really appreciate that you tried to cheer me up. But I don't think that anything can help me through this. I'm just going to go home, if that's okay with you." She finished. "Of course, Dash. It's fine with me." Twilight said, trying to hold back her tears. Rainbow Dash got up and walked towards the doorway. Once outside, she immediately took flight towards her cloud home. Tears streaking down her face, thinking of the young drake that she loved. The young drake that was now gone forever. Twilight looked over her friends, all of them were looking at Rainbow Dash as she took off. Tears were streaming down their faces, much like her own. She sighed, it was time to write a letter to Princess Celestia. "I-I think that we should all follow Rainbow Dash’s advice and head our separate ways. I believe that we all need a break from today.” Rarity said, wiping away her tears with a cloth. The others nodded in agreement. They then headed off their own ways. Hoping that the past few hours were nothing but a nightmare. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear, Princess Celestia This isn’t going to be a normal report. Not today anyways. Today, we have lost somepony close to us, to all of us. I am sad to say that Spike has left us. He has been in the hospital recently, as you know, and today, he passed away. The only one who was there was Rainbow Dash, she and Spike had just confessed their feelings for each other when it happened. The doctor’s and nurses have no idea what made him burst into flames. I’m not sure we want to know. For the next few days, maybe even weeks, we will mourn the loss of him, and plan his ceremony. Please inform my parents, Shining Armor, and Cadence of this. I’m sure that they would like to know what happened. You're Faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, in the center of the Gryphon Kingdom, a young drake was just waking up in the infirmary. "W-Where am I?" He asked. The griffon nurse looked at him, smiling. "You're in the Gryphon Kingdom. And might I add, Lord Ironclaw would wish to speak with you. But first, we need to know your name." "My name is-" The young drake started, but was interrupted by another female gryphon. "Spike?!" The gryphon asked, clearly surprised. Spike looked over and nearly gasped in surprise. "Gilda?" He asked, wondering why she was wearing a crown. To Be Continued... Sequel!Yes, the title is correct. I am going to be writing a sequel to this story. I am thinking about making it a series of stories. Some of you may be wondering why I didn't write another chapter following the previous one. Seeing as it's summer and I have tons of free time on my hands, I should've been able to write another one, right? Wrong, that's the problem. I had so much free time that I kept pushing it off. The result was me ending it short and making the next chapter the beginning of the sequel. But once school starts up again, I will have no choice but to write chapters because of the limited amount of free time. Yeah, my logic is weird like that. Anyways, some more info on the sequel. 1. The title is 'The Legacy of Spike: New Horizons (is that a good title?) 2. It may or may not include some Gilda x Spike. 3. Fifteen years have passed since the hospital incident. That's all I can tell you for now. Until then, expect some smaller one-shots from me.
Chapter 1The Legacy of Spike Chapter 1 Entry # 4 Today, RD is coming back from Cloudsdale. -Rainbow Dash
Chapter 2The Legacy of Spike Chapter 2 Beep Beep The soft beeping of medical equipment startled Spike awake. -Spike
Chapter 4The Legacy of Spike Chapter 4 Entry #8 Wow, it’s been a long time since I wrote in this thing.
-Rainbow Dash
Chapter 6Entry #3 Well, it’s been almost two weeks. ~Rainbow Dash
Bonus Chapter!A/N: I know that I'm supposed to put this at the end.
Don’t wanna ask her too early, or too late.* -Spike
Chapter 7 Twilight and her friends had just entered the hospital.
