Chapter 1: A matter of transportation

Rarity, sat at her sowing desk and stifled a yawn, lately things around ponyville had become steadily more and more boring during the last few weeks. The writing of a letter to Princess Celestia no longer was an anticipated event at the end of the week, the small group of friends had been dreading the event all week and were all trying to think about something they could put in the letter. Rarity still did not know how she was going to contribute to the letter, and frankly did not feel like even attempting to come up with an idea. She sighed and looked around the room, looking for anything to do to cure her boredom, her eyes landed on the book Twilight had lent her, it was labeled The Canterlot Tales. Rarity had chosen the book hoping for a collection of stories about brave and dashing knights from faraway lands going to save princesses from towering castles. Instead she got a collection of stories written in a musty old language that surely could not be English, but it gave her a good laugh to read some of the funny words. Twilight stared at Rarity, dumbfounded “What’s the rush, Rarity?” Twilight asked, Rarity responded “I found something in a book that’s kind of odd”, Twilight laughed “Rarity, you know some of my books are odd, especially the ones in the back room.” Rarity blushed “not that kind of odd, look for yourself” Rarity pulled the book out of her saddlebag and gave it to Twilight. Rarity didn’t even have the time to tell Twilight what page it was on before she found it. “That’s weird, I’ve read every book in the library and I don’t remember ever coming across this part” Twilight said as she looked at the pages “could you fix it? That part looks interesting” Rarity asked, “No problem, an easy spell should fix this” Twilight replied. Twilight shot a ray of magic into the book “There, now it should be do- Twilight was cutoff as a blinding light shot out of the book and engulfed Twilight and Rarity.
