Chapters Something that was supposed to be meaningful
Twilight awoke in a white hospital bed in a glorious white room with only slight gold wall decorations around corners. She discovered tubes and dried blood where scars appeared. More damage, more than she could take. She was attached to her hospital bed with a receptacle over her horn. She blinked again and took in the young white guard that guarded the palace. He leaned over her and said in a serious voice. "Twilight, your last name is Sparkle, your famous, and I'm your brother. I must go to Celestia and tell her you have awakened" He ran out of the out-of-the-ordinary room, leaving the young filly in thought.
Brother? That explains the recognition. Sparkle? Quite...pretty...didn't fit her. FAMOUS??? Out of all the unbelievable things in the world, this was the biggest. How could she, complete reject, be FAMOUS?!?!? This boy must be insane, but then she remembered the guard yelling "OH MY GOSH IT'S TWILIGHT SPARKLE!" That was...the other guard...not her "brother".
cl
Twilight watched as the white nurse added a lotion to her that made her dried scars slowly vanish. The nurse left the room, staring at Twilight so as she bumped into a door on her exit.
A few naps, hours, ticking clocks, rubber balls, nurse yelling, and pure healing a grand white figure shadowed the doorway. "Hello Twilight Sparkle. I understand this may be a bit confusing for you, however I am here to explain it. No questions until I finish. No talking until I stop. Understand?" Twilight nodded, afraid to speak. "I am the Princess, soon-to-be Queen, Celestia. You defeated a powerful evil, called the Enchantress. You are powerful Twilight, and I expect great things from you. Your brother, as he told you, is Shining Armor, my wonderful young 7 year old guard. Your parents are lost and presumed deceased. Your powers beyond anything ever imagined. And we need you again, for The Enchantress is back, and you are meaningful to this task. Questions, Twilight Sparkle?" "Why should I trust you" "You shouldn't. You don't have to. But Equestria does. Decide." "I say..." Equestria needs you! But...this pony...she's crazy! But Equestria isn't. "Sure"
"Your decision is wonderful. You will be a special student, I will teach you to control your powers." Celestia smiled and pushed down Twilight's shoulders. "Go back to sleep. Training starts when you arise."
Twilight closed her eyes into darkness. Her last thought : What did I just do?
Something that was supposed to be meaningful
Twilight awoke. Her pains, that had only been yesterday paralyzing her, were now gone. She stared out the open window at the still blank morning, where the moon hadn't fully gone down and the sun was only half way up. Birds chirped a sad melody that tuned the filly back in on her destiny to defeat The Enchantress. Who was the Enchantress? Why didn't I ask that? Twilight blew hair out of her face. A team of 4 people, each with fashion cutiemarks walked in, with no shortage of rings, piercings, or colors walked in. "You must be zhe Twilight Spark-ale, we ville prep you for your cleasses, taday. You are a mezz!" The man said with the most annoying accent. A minty girl with teal hair stepped up "My gosh, her hair is like a...a nest! I'm surprized there are no eggs!" The way she said surprised made Twilight quiver, the z stretched AND THAT WASN'T EVEN PART OF THE WORD!!! They all laughed at Minty Teal Hair's joke, however much she thought it was hardly amusing.
After about an hour with "much needed makeovers" the filly looked as if she was born in the castle as with the other "normal" pedestrians. Twilight was instructed a small tiny bedroom on the 200th floor a floor away from Shining Armor, 3 doors down from Celestia. She was also given a schedule of her special powers classes with Celestia. Her first lesson was... 1:00 AM!?!? Twilight just sat on her bed and began to read her books the guards gave her. She noticed other rooms didn't have guards. She noticed it just as much as the sign on her door that read "Mentally Sick: TWILIGHT SPARKLE PATIEANT #3345124
That's a lot of numbers, there must be many patients. Was Twilight's only thought. She dove into "A history of magic ponies"
The chapter she was on read:
Chapter 5:Losing control
Side Effects:Blurry eyes, lost control of powers, gaps in memory, blackouts.
Help: Locked away in Celestia's castle.
Description: Anyone with these powers will soon fully grow powers that normal ponies CANNOT HANDLE. This is a serious disease and anyone will be secreted in Celestia's castle.
If eyes could speak, Twilights would most likely say: Celestia was lying to me, there probably is no Enchantress, Shining Armor is not my brother, and I'm just going to be locked up in a castle forever. She decided not to go to her class unless forced to by guards. She remembered the sign on her door "Mentally sick". She was just another pony, not famous.
Twilight now trusted nobody.
Something that was supposed to be meaningful
Twilight awoke at Midnight. The darkness of the sky outside flooded the room in an awful dark tan that scared the filly at a rate 5 of 10. She remembered her class, but forgot her ditching, so she brushed her hair slowly and stared at her clean, pristine face. Castle made. Just for their loved mentally disoriented pony that would someday defeat the mighty "Enchantress". It's all a big bucket of lies. Twilight trotted to the window and threw up the sash. She climbed out onto a tree branch that was placed out of her window. She felt good here, secrete but good. She knew if things ever got bad she could run away from this branch. She yelled loudly "CELESTIA I DON'T TRUST YOU!!!"
"I know you don't, I had you read that book so you'd know your weaknesses. I will not secrete you. That book is 5 years old dear, things change." said a sweet voice from behind Twilight, who fell out of the tree onto the ground in surprise. Grateful arms caught her and looked her in the eyes. "Class begins." "What are you going to do?" "I'm going to show you something everyone but you have seen."
The dirt path was covered in rotted fruits. You'd think a splendid palace would perhaps clean their paths, but did not. Lazy. "What are you going to show me?"
"Ever seen the sun rise?"
Twilight remembered her last morning in the woods, the orange and yellow bright colors that filled the sky with brilliant sparks of sunshine as it rose high into the sky. It was spectacular. Almost..magic.
"You..."
"Hush Child, and watch."
Twilight stood on the cement ground as Celestia stood on the cement stage. The pristine white marble-like glow shone on Twilight's pale purple tan that replaced the dark purple (thanks to the prep ponies). Twilight watched as people appeared out of magic, flying, or trotting. People placed themselves past the cement. Twilight saw the red tape around the cement stage, and heard the ponies yelling "WE ONLY GET TO SEE IT ONCE A YEAR, AND WE CAN'T SEE IT UP CLOSE" and "THAT FILLY CAN" Then the guards yelling "SHE'S TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!!" And the crowd hushed in a silent sweep.
Twilight stared back up at Celestia who was rising into the sky on her giant white wings that spread out in a full straight line. Twilight's eyes got big as the glorious yellow & orange colors bled the sky to an open orange. The huge sphere of the sun rose out of the pitch blackness. How could one pony be responsible for an entire Equestria of sunlight!
"this is what I needed to see. I know why Celestia. I understand your message" Twilight said.
And she did.

15 years later, above Ponyville.
"Now Spike remember we have SOOOOOOOOOO many important preparations and we have to meet SOOOOOOOOO many ponies. You must remember my guidlines and rules and...SPIKE HELLO SPIKE???" Spike, who was gazing out the cart and staring at the many clouds that lay big and fluffy on the rushing currents of air that sped them around.
He knew, of course for it was common knowledge, the main weather pony and her helpers were planning on an early storm to make sure Celestia's day in Ponyville would be nice and sunny.
Spike then turned around and yelled out "YES, I KNOW, OF COURSE TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!!"
Twilight rolled her huge violet eyes and turned her attention to below. The view of the tops of Ponyville homes told Twilight this would be nothing like the castle luxary lounges and spas. This would be cut-to-the-cold-hard-cash or we-stick-together-while-we-are-also-poor type towns. Twilight somehow found joy in being able to say she'd come from the Castle, never telling anyone about her wood bearings that kept her in line. For those woods always somehow looked homely. She turned her thoughts to the bustling paved streets with a cobblestone edge to them. This was obviously a group effort done by many. Cart vendors yelled out products and low sales and prices, ponies rushed to school or work, shopowners put out sale signs and forewarning of opening. She could hear the chirping birds and bustling animals scurrying around.
What was that animal lovers name? FLUTTERSHY...or was it just Flutter or ShyFlutter. I don't know thought Twilight. "First stop is to find Fluttershy. Should be in the forest just over there" said the ponies flying the carriage.
MEETING FLUTTERSHY
Twilight and Spike walked up the gravel sidepath to the forest, the tiny stones pushed around making crunching noises as a result. They finally came upon a small tree with light brown bark. 3 small bluebirds sung the song their master as it seemed, a yellow pony with neon pink hair that covered on of her eyes, sang to them. "Hi Fluttershy!" Twilight said which caused the birds to fly away and Fluttershy to fall backwards. "Oh...sorry! I just wanted to see that the music is done. It sounded good" The pony stood back up and her pink bangs covered her right eye.
"Oh it's fine. It's going great!G---" she started in a tiny voice "G--G--oodnight. Oh and..RainbowDash,Pinkie Pie, AppleJack, and Rarity wanted me to give you this. It's a picture that shows you their progress so you don't accidently disturb them."
That felt like a slap in the face for Twilight, who just left after that.
She felt half horrible and half...evil.
So instead of checking the party things she led Spike to the woods. "We are going to go home." "To the castle?" "No Spike, to the woods."

Something that was supposed to be meaningful
A young purple filly wasn't supposed to be scarred and broken, any young filly should be out free and.. happy. This filly wasn't happy, I could tell by the crease that lined her eye brows and the bags that lay inches deep under her pointed insomniac purple eyes. This filly sat in the middle of a forest, where green grasses that looked somewhat nice were deadly and ugly purple vines were edible. A place where any pony would feel out of place, out of touch, out of their minds. This filly could hardly feel herself moving, even though her slow steady movements with a slight wobble on the left foreleg were hard to miss, she felt like she would die she felt paralyzed..she felt lost. This filly was probably only about 5 years of age, and her horn was tattered and dirty, not that magic would be any use to her aid. Any pony that was magic got full powers at age 7, so at the moment she was just a little kid, a dirty little puzzle piece of society and she would hopefully be put in the puzzle when she became of age. This filly didn't understand why life had hated her so much, and why she was so much a reject of society. Unnormal. Never to be normal.
This filly would be known as Twilight Sparkle, although now she called herself just Twilight, for she never knew her parents last name. She didn't know she was a Sparkle.
The young filly trudged on, her eyes only set their sights on trees she passed to keep her mind busy. She didn't know where she was going, she just hoped it was somewhere far from here. Suddenly, her eyes got blurry and she felt a surge of power. She felt heat from her horn, and fell backwards as something shot out of it. She blacked out after 5 minutes of wonder, as trees and lurking animals that glared swiftly toward the pony with the glowing horn. Again, the odd animal out.
When the young filly awoke, she wiped crustys from her eyes and was surprised there were no bags under them. She looked at her hand which was cleaned and washed, and was healthy. Then she looked around, she found herself at the edge of the forest. She felt a serge of pain and looked at her leg where a huge bloody gash was woven into her skin, "Well, that's not healed" she spoke only to herself. She walked/limped/crawled to the very edge of the forest and gasped in the sight of beauty at it's greatest. A big white castle that had pink trimmings and golden decorative pieces on the very top lay before her. A flag waved around. "Dorthy's not in Kansas any more" Twilight whispered slowly. Guards paced in front of the door, one was white and had a short white horn. He looked only two years older than Twilight, and she felt a strange recognization of this boy. She only, however, thought of how he was to young to guard such a fabulous palace.
She felt the same blurriness, and then yelling, and blackouts, and more yelling and then "OH MY GOD SHE IS TWILIGHT SPARKLE!"
Then...nothing.
Something that was supposed to be meaningful
"SPIKE??!!???" Twilight turned in circles, but her young dragon helper showed up not. The green vines covered and cloaked the other inhabitants of the woods, so seeing the young dragon was impossible. Twilight finally looked toward the ground and closed her eyes. Her apprentice was dead. She knew it.
Twilight missed Celestia with all her passion, and she finally gave up enough strength to look at the photos that Fluttershy gave her. The ponies were smiling and waving. She bet they didn't hate her. Like that helped her now.
Twilight new that after Celestia's visit today snow would come, for it always did. I remembered again about the Enchantress. That pony. Then I remembered my saddlebag. I pulled it out and flipped around in the book History of Evil Ponies.
ENCHANTRESS AND HER CURSE
The Enchantress was the biggest menace of the 1900's. She always came at the snow time of the year. She continually comes to The Evergreen Forest every year. Only one pony has ever survived her curse. Twilight Sparkle, who is know lost somewhere in the Evergreen Forest. Twilight checked the date, 1956 was before the castle picked her up. Of course, then she was missing. She continued to read: THE CURSE: If you ever hear this run:ONLY DARKNESS, POWER HIGH, READY NO, OF EVIL'S CRY.
Twilight frowned and thought back, when a sudden flashback came to her.
A woman's shriek. Arms surrounded the young baby purple filly. The Enchantress, a filthy black pony with light green hair that was mangled and grotesque with the cutie mark of a skull, began to chant her song. In a soft light voice so different from her appearance she began to sing "Only darkness, power high, ready no, of evils c--". Then the young purple filly's horn grew purple, and a tree fell over the Enchantress. Then she waddled off into the woods with her parents crying for her. And her brother. Shining Armor fell to the ground and yelling "Twilight!!!" in a cute small voice, that sounded so desperate.
Then Twilight fell to the ground in a bent forest.
Then she whispered in a small voice: "I'm a monster, Celestia" Then she yelled "YOU MADE ME A MONSTER, CELESTIA"
Then a black out.
Something that was supposed to be meaningful
Meaningful
It was all so clear to Twilight now. The Enchantress was dead. Celestia just wanted a face to show to the crowd, and make her so popular she could dominate Equestria. She made Twilight become a monster. She was just Celestia's secret weapon. The pictures Fluttershy gave her were stamped with the Equestria symbol. The pictures weren't real, Fluttershy, as she realized, was just another pony with makeup on. These ponies were all locked up in the Castle.
Because of Twilight.
She remembered her first conversation with Celestia :"I am the Princess, soon-to-be Queen, Celestia. And we need you again, for The Enchantress is back, and you
are meaningful to this task. Questions, Twilight Sparkle?"
"Why should I trust you" "You shouldn't. You don't have to. But Equestria does. Decide."
She felt tricked, used like a worn out old glove. What would happen when that glove broke? It would be thrown away. "I'm just another piece in your puzzle." she whispered. She remembered her first comparison of herself, in the woods, she was just the mishaped puzzle piece that didn't fit in the puzzle. That thing you think is a piece, but instead is just a cracker and breaks the puzzle apart.
She realized what she must do. And to do so, she must speak with Celestia.
When Twilight made it to the castle, she saw darkness, and was once a beautiful castle turned into an ugly place for ponies no one liked. Twilight controlled her horn, and broke the castle to dust. Ponies ran from the ashes, coughing and screaming. Then Celestia, the once elegant and beautiful ruler, turned to look at Twilight. "What are you doing Twilight? Aren't you doing your job? Or have you finally figured out---" her monotone ended as a fireball shot into her back. "SPIKE!!!!" Twilight yelled and ran for her young apprentice. Spike smiled, and then his eyes went hazy. Then she saw the sword sticking out of his back. "SPIKE???? NO!!!!!!!!" Spike fell to the ground.
Twilight's eyes burned with tears, and the asphalt made her feel dizzy with pain. Blood now poured from her lip, for the asphalt flew in directions toward her face. "STOP IT CELESTIA" she yelled. Using her horn, she cast the evil ruler down. "Your reign ends NOW!!!!"
Then she shot something at Celestia, who slumped to the ground. Twilight felt dizzy again, and blood poured from her lip and down her face. She screamed. And then, the last thing she remembered was Spike laying on the ground next to her.
The End....or is it...
