Chapter 01 - An Ordinary day?
The air was calm and cheering could be heard from Ponyville a few miles away. As a group of six mares lay on the floor of an open field, that resembled a battle field. In the middle of them is where I was laying down. My name is Mindy Heavenly, and am a pink Alicorn with a red mane and tail, along with a cutie mark of a orange "M" with a halo and wings on the sides. I also assume you are wondering why I am on the floor battered, scarred, bruised and with my horn burned along being covered by these white magical feathers, not to mention I am on the brink of death. Well I will tell you, I used a very powerful magic that we Alicorns know; however, this magic requires us to pay half of our lives to use. In my weakened state I had no choice but to use it to save my friends and the town. Maybe I should start from the begging on how this all happened.
It started out like any other day in Ponyville. I usually start my day by brushing my mane, doing my morning stretches, and having breakfast with my roommates before I go on my usual morning walks around town. However, today was just a bit different. As I came to the shopping area in town I notice Daisy acting a little bit mean to the other ponies and was away from her flower shop. As she pushed the other ponies out of her way and began to walk in the direction of the forest nearby. I ran and help the blue Unicorn that Daisy dropped on the floor.
"Are you ok Colgate?" I told the unicorn as I helped her back on her hooves.
"Yeah I am fine, but what is wrong with Daisy today?"
"I do not….."
I stopped in mid-sentence as I notice Daisy in the corner of my eye coming at the end of the shops in the opposite direction of where she left. I had on a confusing look on my face as I turn to Colgate and notice she had the same confuse expression that I had.
"Didn't she left in the opposite direction from us?" said the blue unicorn
"She did and I am going to see where that one that walked to the forest goes and can you talk to that one over there"
I point to the Daisy that was in the market as the blue Unicorn goes to her as I turn around and begin to follow the other one that began to walk deeper into the forest. It seemed that she walked for miles, but I made sure she did not notice me following her. When she came to the exit of the forest, she began to walk to a large open field where other ponies where gathering. As I took a look behind me I notice I was very far from Ponyville. I ran and hid behind a tree to see all of the ponies that gathered in the field, but still trying to conceal myself from them noticing me. As I began to observe all of the ponies that gathered I notice myself standing in the crowed.
"So how are the preparation almost completed?"
It was a voice of a female but from the angle I was in I could not see her hiding behind a group of large rocks.
"Yes my queen, we are close to launching our attack on Canterlot and on Ponyville… and so far not one of those foolish ponies has notice us yet." said a yellow Unicorn with a blue mane.
"In two days we will be ready to attack." Said a blue Pegasus with an orange mane
"Good…. Princess Celestia will not see us coming this time and we can finally rule all over Equestria once and for all" said the Queen and began to laugh.
As the voice began to laugh maniacally from her hidden location, as crowed began to cheer and began to glow green begging to change into these dark Unicorns with pure green eyes and bug like wings. Their legs caught my attention since they were filled with holes that you can see right through them. Fangs were hanging out of their snouts. I was shocked on what I just see happening in front of me and I slowly began to leave the area and run back into Ponyville. I know I have wings but I rather be in the sky at the moment since I am sure they can fly as well and I do not want to get caught up in the sky. It took me awhile to reach the outskirts of the village I decided I should look into what where those creatures I just witness or if they were some sort of mutated Alicorns. So I began to head towards the direction of the towns library and see if I could find any new information on those creatures I just saw in that field. So I began to head to the library in the town and speak with the pony that is running it Miss Twilight Sparkle. But what would I tell her or better yet how can I explain to her on what I just saw? I had to make up something maybe a history of past Alicorn Magic could help me or maybe tell me if that would happen to me one day so I had to at least check on our history and I am sure she may have that book I am searching for. however if she did not own any book like that in her library then I would have to go to Canterlot if it was possible and speak with Princess Celestia in person and see if she knows anything about those dark creatures, but I still need to talk with Twilight and see first if she has that book or if she knows anything about them.
