Pinkie Pie’s eyes shoot open as a huge smile stretches itself across her face. She bounds out of her bed, only stop top abruptly in front of her mirror. She looks at the mirror, tilting her head inquisitively, and trots slowly towards her mirror. She grins at her reflection. “I always love having an audience!” She says as she leaves her room heading to the cakes kitchen. Upon arriving she decides that she is going to make waffles. She takes out the waffle batter and heats up the griddle. As the griddle is warming up, Pinkie Pie goes over to a cabinet to get out of chocolate chips and - “You don’t need to narrate every apart of my day you know. Just the funny or exciting parts!”
About half an hour later, Pinkie Pie sits down to eat the waffles, when she hears crying from the nursery room. She stuffs a few more bites into her mouth and gets the filled baby bottles out of fridge and bounds upstairs. She goes into the nursery room, where the cakes, who both look very tired, are holding Pumpkin and Pound, trying to get them to stop crying. “I have their bottles.” Pinkie says as she gives them to the cakes, who then let the babies drink from them, quieting them down.
Mrs. Cake smiles gratefully. “Thank you Pinkie, your such a wonderful help. Be a dear and please make some for us.” Pinkie Pie bounds downstairs and starts the coffee maker, and then leaves, not having to come - “Just cut now and come back when I give the signal.” She says.

Pinkie Pie walks back into her room, a satisfied grin on her face, as Luna’s moon starts to raise up into the sky. Some bits of confetti stuck in her mane, and her tail dyed blue. “Today was amazing! That was the BEST party ever. I never knew that Luna could throw such an amazingful wonderly awsomest parties like that! Wow!”
. . . *cough* . . .
Pinkie Pie looks up, and suddenly frowns. “I am so sorry! I totally forgot. I was having so much fun at Luna’s party. Well, maybe tomorrow, I promise not to forget! Goodnight!” Pinkie Pie jumps into her bed, causing the sheets to fly up, and then land on her as she goes to sleep, anticipating what fun adventures she will have tomorrow.
A/N: We had to write a story in which the character 'shatters the fourth wall' and I figured Pinkie Pie fit perfectly.

Twilight Sparkle sat on her chair in the library. Her friends were off doing their own things, and Spike had been sent to fetch come supplies from the market. She wasn’t sure what compelled her to do it, but she used her magic to grab a small notebook that she kept in her personal room at the library.
The faded purple notebook had been through a lot, the embroidered lettering on the front torn and frayed, with some of the letters completely gone. All that was left of the original words was TWIIGT’ JOURNA, it was her journal from when she first entered Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. Despite not being very sentimental, her parents said she should take it with her to Ponyville. She flipped open the cover, and read the note on the inside, hard to make out having been written by her when she was just a filly. ‘Twilight Sparkle’s Journal, do not read! Unless you are Twilight Sparkle or Mr. Smartypants!’
Twilight smiled upon reading that, sometimes she missed being a filly. She flipped to the first page and read the entry there. ‘Day 1: We all went to school today, it was fun! The teacher had us sorted into magic level and I got put into Magic Kindergarten. I am sure I will love it!’ Twilight grimaced at that entry, oh how naive she was at that age. ‘Day 2: I dont think I like magic kindergarten, im so much younger than all the other fillies, they were teasing me! Ill show them, I am just a good as they are!’ Well, Twilight could at least agree with herself there, she was (and still is) better than her kindergarten class mates were. . .‘Day 4: I tried showing them how good I was at magic, but It didnt work! I failed to summon the dragon that I made hatch. What’s wrong with me?’ Twilight looked down at her writing, remembering how bad magic kindergarten was for her. She flips a few pages ahead. ‘day 23: I HATE H. A. T. E. magic kindergarten! All of the kids are mean and laugh at me. Why can’t I use my magic good as I did when I hatched the dragon?’ Oh if only she had known back then what she knew now, about the Rainboom, maybe she would have been able to handle the teasing easier, Twilight thought, skipping a few more entries ahead. ‘Day 30: Its not fair! Mommy and daddy wont let me leave magic kindergarten. I dont know how I hatched that baby dragon but I am awful at magic! Horrible! I just want to leave forever!’ Twilight Sparkle looked down at her journal, tears forming in her eyes. It was all coming back to her, the hell that magic kindergarten was, she had completely blanked out her memories from magic kindergarten, but they were coming back now. She wasn’t sure why but she flipped a few more pages in and continued reading. ‘Day 46: I failed the homework assignment, I forgot about it and didnt do it. The teacher scolded me in class and all the kids laughed at me and teased me! It’s not fair, I didnt mean to forget it!‘ Twilight Sparkle realized that must be why she had always been so intent on following a deadline, she couldn’t believe what she had forgotten, but she wished it had all stayed forgotten. She read another entry. ‘Day 52: Why is my life so bad? Ever since I started kindergarten! My parents dont listen to me, only Shining believes that the kids are so mean. Im gonna get back at them! Ive had enough!‘
Twilight Sparkle was crying now, the memories were all coming back to her, golden compass laughing at her when she failed to levitate the brick, the cruel pranks played on her by shining torch, locking her in the bathroom, dumping some of her favorite books into water. . . Tearing up Smartypants! Twilight Sparkle let her head fall against her hooves, laying on top of the journal, crying uncontrollably as her tears blur the writing on her journal. - Knock, knock, knock - Twilight Sparkle starts at the sudden noise, trying to calm herself down she speaks up “T-The libraries closed! Come b-back tomorrow!” She failed to calm herself down as her voice cracks.
“Twiley? Are you okay? The sign says your open.” Twilight blinked, unbelieving.
“I’m coming in Twiley.” The door opened and Shining Armor stands at the entryway with Princess Cadence behind him, she closes the door behind them as Shining calls out. “Where are you Twiley?” He hears crying from upstairs and asks Cadence to stay downstairs. After she says yes Shining gallops up the stairs as fast as he can, entering Twilight’s bedroom, to see her laying on her bed, with a book under her folded hooves, crying into it. “Twiley! What’s wrong!?” He asks as he goes up to his sister, nuzzling her and stroking her mane. “What happened?” Twilight simply buries her head further into the book under her hooves and lets out a moan. Shining sits down next to her bed as he strokes her back with his hoof and puts his head down on her arm near her ear.
“It’ll be okay Twiley, don’t worry. I’m here now, I love you Twiley, please don’t cry like this.” He whispers. “Please, tell me whats wrong, what caused this?” Twilight pushes the little book out from under her hooves as she snuggles up against him and cries into his fur. Shining wraps his left hoof around Twilight and holds her tight as he looks at the book, reading what is on the open page and understanding just what is wrong. He closes the book and gently tosses it back towards the door, where he sees Cadence watching from the entryway with a concerned look on her face.
Cadence carefully walks towards the two, nuzzling Twilight as she moves her mouth towards Shining’s ear, asking what’s wrong in a whisper. “She is remembering some. . . Bad experiences.” He stops whispering. “Twilight, you don’t need to worry about it anymore. You’re so much older, and the student of Celestia no less. You’re better than they are, please talk to us. What happened in the past is over, you know that.”
Twilight lifts her head up, tears in her eyes.. “I... I... Shining, I’m -” she tries to continue but cannot bring herself to finish as she buries her head into Shining Armor’s mane.
“Twilight, please, stop crying. What you did was a mistake. There was no way you could have known it would happen. You cannot blame yourself for it. Please. . .”
Twilight tries to say something with her head pushed into Shining Armors mane, but it only comes out as, “iimmmphmpphter”
“What? With your head how it is we cannot understand you.” Cadence jests, a grin on her face trying to get twilight to at least smile.
Twilight puts her head up. “I’m a monster! Sh-shining T-t-torch-”
“Got better.” Shining Armor interrupts. “You couldn't stop yourself when it happened, but you know you did not that on purpose, nor would you ever have done it on purpose.”
“I. . I wanted to... I wanted to hurt her but. . . But not like that. I didn’t know my magic was being dormant, I didn’t mean to hurt her, but I did! I broke her leg! I’m evil, just leave me alone.”
Princess Cadence looks sternly down at Twilight Sparkle. “Don’t say that. You are not evil. Nightmare Moon is evil, Discord is evil, King Sombra is evil. You are not evil. You made a mistake when you were young, we all do things we regret, we all wish we did things differently. You need to learn to let the past go. To understand what you did wrong and change it - which you have! - You are an amazing pony and I, we both, love you.”
Twilight looks up at Princess Cadence, tears in her eyes, as she lunges towards her, wrapping her in a hug. “I love you too, both of you. . .” Cadence looks at twilight, a slight smile on her face, as she wraps her right hoof across twilight’s body, and motions Shining Armor over, who then embraces both Cadence and Twilight in a hug.
“Don’t worry lil’ sis. We will always be here for you. No matter what, we love you and you can always talk to us.”
Twilight looks up, “thank you, both of you.”
A/N: This was originally a short story where we start with one emotion (curiousness), move to a second one (sadness), and then ends with a third one (happiness). I felt like I didn't do it enough justice with just a short story though and so I added on to it. . . a lot.
