Darkness

Chapter One: Alone
It was complete darkness, not a soul in sight the void was completely empty; like a ghost town, the only noise Twilight Sparkle could here was the sound of her panicked breath as she spins around, desperately looking for some kind of light, but to no avail.
“I...I’ve got to get out of here.” She panted; she could feel the anxiety closing in around her. “Where in the hay am I?” she question as she took in the blank surroundings.
And then it all came back to her, she had been practicing her latest spell, and she then remembered of the consequences of getting it wrong; but something didn’t seem right, she was pretty sure this wasn’t supposed to happen, as she started to calm herself so she could focus on finding a way back home as she looked around, she shouted out at the top of her lungs, “ANYPONY HERE!!!” There was no response just and eerie echo of what she had shouted. “Well I am not going to find a way home just standing around.” She said to herself as she used her magic to illuminate so she could see where she was stepping, it didn’t do a great deal but it was better than nothing.
As she took her first step like a cautious new born foal, as she steadily placed her hoof, patting at the ground in front of her to see if it was solid, as she made her way towards the direction she was faced, the darkness threw her as she found it near impossible to orientate herself to a specific direction. “Next time Twilight, you got to just stick to Levitation and transformation spells.” She chuckled unsurely to herself.
All of a sudden she froze as shivers shot up her spine, as she felt a cold breath on her neck, “W...Who’s there??” her voice began to break as she spun around to look behind her.
“Oh Twilight, Twilight, Twilight. It’s been a while.” Spoke a voice.
“That voice, I’ve heard it somewhere before?” She puzzled to herself.
“Indeed you have heard this enchanting voice before, and might I add it is a pleasure to hear your friendly voice again.” The voice chuckled sinisterly.
“What, What do you want?” she shouted, “Where in the hay am I?” She continued to shout at the voice.
“Oh you’ll see soon enough my dear, just keep walking and don’t stop.” The voice began to laugh evilly as it faded out into the distance.
Twilight began to panic again as she squinted her eyes to try and see where the voice came from, but it didn’t help, as she slowly turned back around and then she noticed that there was a small light up ahead, a sigh of relief washed over Twilight, as she cantered towards the light still using magic to illuminate her surroundings as she charged. It felt like forever as she ran towards the light, but she stayed hopeful. “I’m on my way guys.” She smiled as she finally made it to the light, it was so beautiful, and so bright she had to shield her eyes from its blinding glare. As she confidently stepped into the light, taking a deep breath, just as she felt a sense of joy flush over her, she was briskly swept back into panic as she began to fall, as her deafening scream echoed around her, she thought she was going to die, eventually she hit the floor with a loud thump.
“Oh dear, did you fall?” the voice spoke with a nasty sarcastic tone, “Oh well you’ll survive.
Twilight sobbed softly as she was winded by the fall, and the voice taunting her was not helping at this time, “Please just let me go...” she whimpered in fear.
“I can’t.” The voice said very coldly.
“Why not? Why can’t you help me?” she questioned stumbling back on to her hooves.
“Because I can’t, you’ll have to find your own way out.” The voice giggled.
Twilight wiped her eyes as she managed to put on a brave face, even though deep down, she realized she was all alone in darkness, and the only one, who could help her, was her, and she knew the voice wasn’t going to help her. “...ok Twi you got this just be careful.” She sighed softly. As she started walking slowly again using her magic to illuminate her surroundings she placed one hoof in front of the other.
“Oh just be careful there are traps in this place...” The voice paused momentarily before continuing, “I just don’t know where, considering it’s dark, I think that’s a good hint don’t you?”
Twilight snarled and snorted as she dragged her hoof in frustration, “NO... No it is not. It’s useless, and if you don’t let me go I’ll...”
The voice cut her off, “Or you’ll what” the voice taunted.
She was taken aback, she had no clue what she would do, she was more worried about getting home, Twilight decided to ignore the voice and cautiously head off into the distance. Scared, and alone in darkness.
