Tanka: Twilight Sparkle
My name is Twilight
My special skill is magic
I have many friends
However I feel troubled
At the thought of losing them
They are my best friends
I never want to lose them
It would bother me
To see one of them…vanish
To never see them again
I know I worry
Over every single thing
Even when I fail
But what happens when I botched
And it costs somepony’s life
It would torment me
Eat me from the inside, out
I would shun myself
From everypony I know
For causing them all this pain
That is why I try
I try and improver my skills
So I can be set
In case the setting arrives
And I can be there for them
I know that I fret
About every little thing
But…for a reason
I care about everyone
And would suffer to save them.

Free Verse: Celestia's laments
Every week, I get a letter from Twilight sparkle
My most faithful student.
I would always read what her and her friends have learned
What they learned about the magic of friendship.
It would fill me with joy to see her happy with them.
However…that joy will come to a close
On the day I see her die.
I had many students before Twilight
And they all met with the same fate…
They all died and I just continued living.
I outlive everypony I know
And it would pain me to see them go.
I have grown close to all of them
But not as close as I have with Twilight.
I think Twilight as if she was a daughter to me.
She has filled me with so much joy
When I was teaching her magic.
I was happy to see her when her and her friends freed my sister from Nightmare Moon
To defeat the chaotic nature of Discord,
To help defeat the evil changeling named Chrysalis
And now they helped save the crystal Kingdom
By defeating the evil Sombra.
Now that I look back at this…
I would wish that Twilight could live forever
But alas…it can never be.
That is the fate of the Alicorn.
They always outlive the people they get close to.
They always have to see them grow old…
…and die
