Chapters Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
It has been three years to this day since that dark day when my good friend, the knighted Alicorn Heart Breaker had shot and killed the dark alicorn mage Kalmor on the bridge near Ponyville, three years have passed and peace is prosperous, my wife, Derpy Haze has now had child, a filly Pegasus named Tage Haze, a small orange coated pony with long yellow hair, just like her mother, Rainbow is still with Spectra and they have had two colts now, Spectrum Speed and Raincloud Speed. Two rainbow maned Pegasi who already knew how to fly, at the age of one for Spectrum and nearly two for Raincloud. My girl was smart for her age and was the oldest, nearing three years. I laughed and played with her constantly, life was good, no. Life, was perfect. I had a perfect wife with a healthy filly who already called me daddy, great friends and a relaxing life. I wasn't sure how, but I knew that this life, being in Ponyville, relaxing next to Dee was something I had always planned on. It was a Tuesday and I sat outside my house, no, our house and watched the world go by, Tage was flapping her wings around viciously and was trying to fly again. I smiled and got up from my seat, trotting over to her.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" I asked, Tage looked up to me with confused, sad eyes.
"Fly!" Was the squeak that came out. She pointed to the clouds and I could see she longed to fly up there with the other Pegasi. I had tried to explain to her she was too young to fly, hell, Derpy would kill me if she saw Tage flying around without her knowing. But Tage had seen Spectrum do it and I had constantly gave Spectra the evils for allowing his colt to show off. I was so protective over both Dee and Tage, myself and Spectra having gotten in a few arguments if one of his would hit Tage or do anything against her. I felt incredibly bad, since Tage's birth I had been drifting from Heart Breaker and the others, barely even going to Aeb's grave anymore, after promising him I would go everyday. I had been drifting for a while now, I knew, I had drunk countless bottles of alcohol whilst Dee was pregnant, not sure whether she would make it or not. I hadn't left her side, but drunk loads when she was sleeping, I hadn't slept at all, the only time I had left was for Heart Breakers party, but not since. Derpy was inside I thought and I looked sadly at my daughter. She saw my gaze and tried to copy it.
"Sad?" She asked. I knelt down and she giggled and clambered onto me playfully. I nodded as a single tear fell down my face. I nodded again.
"Come on Tage, let's go see an old friend shall we?" I asked, Tage didn't know what I meant and was, considering how smart she was, she didn't say much. Just, knew things.
"Who daddy?" She asked, climbing off. I hadn't actually thought about it and just decided something quickly, as to not annoy Tage with not answering.
"Everypony sweetheart." I replied.
"Even Uncle Spectra and Aunty Dashie?" Tage asked. I smiled, for whatever reason Tage had begun calling my friends, Heart Breaker, Nick, Steven, Shadow, Diamond Ray, Star Burst, when he cam down to Ponyville, being back with Luna and up in Canterlot, even the other Elements uncles and aunts, which was cute and weird in the same tense. I nodded and Tage giggled again, a very squeaky, heart exploding type which sent many ponies in aww mode if they heard it.
I told Tage to wait for me whilst I go talk to Derpy, Tage nodded and started to flap her wings again. I opened the door and walked in, I heard singing from the main room and trotted in, seeing Derpy singing to herself, book in hoof. I smiled and she turned to the doorway, noticing my presence.
"What's up husband?" Derpy Haze asked. I laughed and walked forward, kissed her on the forehead, despite her clear movement to try to kiss me on the lips. I smiled at her and she smiled back, she didn't know I was unhappy in any way, I would hide most emotions from her to save any heart ache or despair around her. I knew Derpy wasn't sleeping, she had become as restless as myself and I knew something was up with her. I could see it in her eyes.
"I am going to take Tage to go see the others. You okay on your own?" I asked, Derpy nodded and started to hum the love song I had gotten Twilight to sing on ours and Spectra's wedding night. Derpy just giggled and kissed me. She closed her eyes for the kiss but instantly saw the sadness from me when she reopened them.
"What's up honey?" She asked. I looked away as to not make eye contact then slumped my head down as if in shame.
"I haven't been with Heart Breaker and the others for ages, I haven't even gone to see Aeb for over three months now and Dari is still recovering from her rebirth, and Twilight isn't the best with a fully grown adult-child, especially now Tree Born is around. I haven't spoken to any of the guys in weeks hun." I groaned finally, it was true, when Dari had gone through her rebirth after that mysterious rouge resurrection spell us not only had she been pregnant somehow and her daughter, Tree Born had been born early last year, but her mind was messed up and Tree was only young, like Tage and the others, but Twilight had agreed to look after them both.
"The war is over, fate has finished with you Haze, you can retire, do whatever you want husband. Stop worrying about all of it." Derpy replied, she smiled, I hadn't actually called her Derpy in years, due to when she is around me, her eyes focus and aren't messed up. She is Dee Haze. Not Derpy. I forced a smile and nodded.
"I know Dee. I know." I nodded and then walked out of the house, grabbing up Tage as I went.
"You poor foal, if only you knew, if only fate never started on you." Derpy muttered, I didn't hear.
I took Tage and myself to Rainbow and Spectra's first. I could hear the young'ins flying around and screaming already and the cloud home wasn't fully in sight yet. I flow up to the doorway and knocked. After a short break the door opened and Rainbow Speed stood at the doorway. Smiling as usual.
"My king." She said, bowing. I laughed and set Tage down who hugged Rainbow and ran inside to play with Spectrum and Raincloud.
"I thought we were over that years ago, mrs Speed." I joked, she laughed and invited me in. I happily stepped in. Spectra walked in from the kitchen and nodded to me. Half smiling. I hated the fact we were so far apart at the moment. But if I tried to fix it I would even make it worse or he would just shrug it off and ignore me.
"Hey Haze. How you been keeping?" He asked.
"Oh pretty good man, yourself?" I replied. He trotted over and brohoofed me. I smiled at him.
"Better than that suit of armour you wore." He replied, referring to the Dweller armour I had worn to my wedding, I laughed and he smiled at me.
"Ah, well. I still pulled off that Rainboom for you." I replied.
"Yeah I have been meaning to ask you. When did you get a Rainboom license? I am an ex-CEO of Cloudsdale Weather Corporation." He joked.
"Well that kinda exploded in your face didn't it. Have you heard about the rebuild process. It is nearly twice as big as the first one!" I exclaimed, Spectra nodded in agreement. We sat and talked for a while, I heard the children playing in the other room and Rainbow came in from the kitchen with a mug of I presumed tea or coffee. I thanked her and she sat down on the chair edge Spectra was on. Shadow suddenly walked in.
"Ah Bright Haze. How are you doing my friend?" He asked. I smiled and brohoofed him.
"Pretty good, how is civilized life treating you?" I asked, Shadow had been abandoned in the Everfree as a young child and grown up surviving out there, but now he was bunking in the spare room to Rainbow's house. Casually bringing another mare back from time to time and earning money from the bakery.
"Horrible. They don't have poison mushrooms here or dangers everywhere. Haze, ponies here even have toilet paper here! Its horrible." Shadow joked, we all laughed and he seemly vanished into thin air and after a few moments, I heard the door open then close.
"Still surprises me how he does that." Rainbow muttered. I gave a short burst of laughter and we began to talk again.
"Any word from Twilight?" I asked.
"None, apart from she says Dari is beginning to recover. She knows things now, beginning to speak and fend for herself." Rainbow replied, I 'ah'ed' and nodded.
"What of Heart Breaker. I am going to him next but I wanna see if there is anything to say." I asked.
"Well apart from he works in the mail industry and is still madly in love with the God-Princess Celestia, still remembers the day she kissed him, both at the knighthood and his birthday. He still is with the Cutie mark Crusaders with him trying to find is Alicorn power. Like Nick is. There isn't anything new." Spectra replied.
"Do you know where he is now?" I asked.
"Well he turned up this morning with all that mail I ordered in distress and was clearly pissed he had to carry four pianos up here on the back of a chariot. He said he was going to go visit Aeb about now but if not he is probably at home." Spectra replied. I thanked him and after a few minutes more of speaking grabbed up Tage and walked out.
"Spectra, Rainbow and Shadow down. Shit ton more to go." I muttered to myself, smiling for the first time in a while.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
I trotted toward the Ponyville graveyard where Heart Breaker supposedly was with Tage on my back and a grin on my face. I was still wondering slightly how Shadow had been in the cloud house but he was unicorn so probably some magic of his or Twilight's. The graveyard was on the top of a hill just outside of Ponyville, not near Apple Acres and not near the school. Ponies were worried a graveyard would scare the fillies and colts. I know Tage hated the graveyard but had no idea why. She shrunk her head into my back and scrunched up where she sat, riding my back because she was still that little to do so. Tage was very small for her age. Maybe that was why she couldn't fly yet. I didn't know. I saw the alicorn from ages away, before we had even gotten to the graveyard. He was at the gates, presumably seeing me and going to it to wait. I walked up the small hill and we looked into each others eyes in silence for a moment. He then turned to go to Aeb's grave. I followed
with Tage on my back.
"Three years he has been dead." Heart Breaker suddenly said as we neared the Changelings grave. I nodded in silence.
"Yeah. Fuck I miss him." I replied. Tage groaned at the sound of me swearing and I said sorry. She squeaked and moved her small body as if she was going to go to sleep.
"He was a good pony. One of the best." Heart Breaker added. I nodded, then that bastard Kalmor Rift had killed him, and nearly me. The three of us made it to the gravestone and I looked to the stone again.
"Here lies Sir Aeb of Equestria. Warrior. Knight. Friend. May he rest in peace, in the time of peace. Who died for peace in Equestria. Like so many. 5794th pony to die in battle since the Changeling war." I read aloud. I still couldn't believe how many ponies had died during that short amount of time. But I guess it stacked up, during the sacking of Cloudsdale, the sieges on Canterlot. As I read this the sky went dull and grey. It was probably just really good convenience but the sky went grey and the rain slowly but surely began.
"So what brings you here Haze." Heart Breaker asked.
"I won't live forever, non of us will. So thought I would make the rounds again, plus I failed Aeb. I promised myself to see him everyday, but haven't." I muttered in a reply.
"He would understand." Heart Breaker replied, truthfully. I hoped.
"That's another thing, we never found out why he was randomly changing just before he died, well during Kalmor's return." I said. Heart Breaker nodded.
"Yeah, well its not just Aeb, reports have been coming in from the Changeling empire for almost a year that their drones are going through this. Also many unicorns are having trouble with their magic. Celestia says the rift is getting bigger, and the magic of Equestria is failing. I can't help but feel responsible." Heart Breaker replied.
"Why?" I laughed. "Its not like you were from the other side and are holding it open by your presence eh?" I joked. "Its not your fault as much as it is mine. I am sure the rift will close eventually and what's the worst that could happen. Discord returns and I have to launch him off a mountain again?" I said. Tage steered in her sleep, muttering something. I couldn't understand so presumed it was to quiet to or she was talking like a little filly, without a known language.
"That's the thing Haze." Heart Breaker began then a bolt of lightning hit not to far away and I looked to Heart Breaker. He looked to me. Tage slept soundly.
"We better get into cover." Heart Breaker said, I nodded, whatever it was he was going to say could wait. We ran down the hill which was covered in mud now and bolted toward Twilight's library.
"Do the Dweller still send summons for you at all anymore?" Heart Breaker suddenly asked as we ran, the rain was pouring heavily now and more lightning struck the area.
"No!" I shouted back over the booming thunder. "I think they finally realised I don't give a shit about them and that Luna is now the princess over them. They still only mine though. Not one have a weapon of any sort. Those who manage to are thrown in the prison." I added. The Sky Dwellers had stopped asking me for stuff nearly two years ago now actually. I had already told Heart Breaker this when it happened, but I guess he was making conversation. Hell, even Princess Celestia referred to calling me a knight now rather than a king. Which I personally thought was great. Although being a king really did help in 'the sack' with Dee, as it were. She loved the idea of calling me her king whilst we, made Tage...
Anyway moving on.
We finally made it to Twilight's and I knocked on the door. Dari opened it.
"Herro." Dari said, a childish way of saying hello. Clearly. I replied with a hello and we stepped inside.
"Is Twilight here?" I asked. Dari thought for a moment then pointed upstairs happily.
"Upstairs with Tree and Spike." Dari replied and ran away up the wooden stairs.
"Ponies! Ponies!" She shouted.
"Fuck, that rebirth really did a number." Heart Breaker muttered.
"I think she is getting worse." I agreed. Twilight came downstairs with Spike. The lavender pony's hair was spiked up on ends and small lines of smoke was drifting from her.
"Wha-" I began.
"Don't ask." Twilight interrupted. "But putting in a lightning rod during a storm is the worse idea ever." Twilight added, I held my laughter in. She had probably gone onto the roof to put in this rod and got hit by an aftershock of a bolt. Not painful or dangerous, it just leaves a comedic affect to the victim.
"So how can I help you?" Twilight then asked.
"Well Haze is doing his rounds finally. And I was at Aeb's grave. Then the storm hit and we came here." Heart Breaker explained, Twilight nodded then noticed Tage on my back.
"Oh hi Tage, didn't see you there." She said, when Tage made no reply I looked to her.
"How the fuck are you still asleep kiddo." I muttered. Twilight laughed.
"Hey where's Tree Born?" I asked. The pony would also be three now because she was born before Tage was.
"Upstairs. I put her to bed." Spike said. I nodded a thanks.
"You still okay with this Twi?" I asked, she didn't seem to hear the question at first then caught up with the world and smiled.
"Of course. I have done for three years now, give or take." She replied. I nodded again. It was still raining outside but I better get a move on if I wanted to see Nick and Steven before Dee got worried for Tage and myself and came looking. I thanked Twilight again for everything.
"Don't worry about it." She muttered in reply. Didn't sound so sure.
"Okay. Well I best be off, got more ponies, and knives to see." I muttered then opened the door to leave.
"See ya mate." Heart Breaker shouted, apparently stating here for a while.
"See ya Heart." I replied and left.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
Tage Haze was still asleep on my back when I reached the edge of Ponyville and the beginning of the Everfree Forest. I could see Fluttershy's cottage from here and knew exactly where to go. Steven th Serpent and his best friend 'Sir Knifely the sharp', or Nick the Knife were now living in a huge cave due to Stevens continually growing size. He was growing very rapidly now, I was worried, as were most ponies, but Steven said it's what all Serpents go through, soon he will stop growing and be at his specific size. He was now the size of a median sized dragon. Three years ago Steven was too big for Canterlot castle and had to hold onto the window and look in from outside, now he might get shot at if he went anywhere near Canterlot without warning. He was still the normal Steven, but, big. Very. Very. Big. I walked through the Everfree in silence, nobody there to talk to. Tage steered in her sleep again and a howl of a Timber wolf could be heard in the distance. I'd worry due to me not being armed, but I was nearing Steven's cave and the wolf was too far away for me to worry about. I passed the small river that was nearly dry now from Steven drinking it, but the rain should fill it up soon. I suddenly stopped in my tracks. I couldn't believe I had been so stupid. It was raining in the Everfree, and Ponyville. Yet the next rainfall was due next week. And not even today, in like nine days. This wasn't right. Something was up for it to rain on the wring day. It was probably nothing but with the failing magic and the changing Changelings. The rift getting stronger. Heart Breaker blaming himself for the rift. My head burnt, like something was wrong. I felt dizzy, a flash went through my head like lightning hitting the ground. Then another. My name seemed to float around my head. Something was terribly wrong. The rift seemed to be close to me. Something was wrong. I felt as if I would pass out. My head burnt. Then.
"Bright Haze. Hi there!" Nick said from below me. All that weird feelings left me and I was fine again.
"Sir Nick the knife. How are you doing this shitty day." I asked. We laughed together and Nick gestured for me to follow, we were going to the cave, probably to get out of the rain.
"I am fine King Haze. What about you?" He asked.
"You are one of the last things to call me a king you know that right?" I asked. Nick just nodded and laughed.
"Of course I do Haze." He replied.
"What were you doing in the rain anyway? I am coming to you. And neither of you knew. " I asked.
"Ah yes. Well we saw it was raining and I suggested I would go to Ponyville and complain, but noticed it was raining there as well. Rain came earlier then." He replied, due to the rouge weather in the Everfree Ponyville cloud team set up a free area over Stevens cave so the two of them could have Ponyville weather as well. It helped in the fact that they could come over for Winter Wrap up or other times like that. Steven had definitely helped clear the snow these past winters. Nearly cutting the snow clearing, thus the whole wrap-up in nearly three. Speeding it up had given the Ponyville ponies reason to trust him. The first few times he had come anywhere near Ponyville everypony had ran. It had been pretty funny. As had him clearing the snow. Lets just say he is rather over-powered in a snowball fight.
We reached the cave and entered, torches lit the area up and I could see Stevens tail hanging out of it. He would need a bigger cave if he continued to grow at the rate is was now.
"Oi Steven! Wake up! Haze is here!" Nick shouted. Tage steered again but stayed on my back and in a deep sleep. The Serpent groaned and turned over, I felt so tiny compared to Steven now. He was huge.
"Ah Sir Bright Haze himself! Welcome to our humble home!" Steven replied. He voice was consider my deeper than normal.
"Steven. You have grown again." I said, bowing slightly for no other reason that mutual respect. Stevens head came out of the cave.
"Yeah, good news is. I am done. Growing complete! Now I am a full grown man-serpent." He replied, happily.
"Thank fuck. Thought we were going to get you a new cave." I replied.
"Ah, I don't need a new cave. As long as you come over more often." Steven replied.
"Yeah, sorry, been. Preoccupied with Tage." I replied.
"Don't worry about it my friend. I know you are, hell for a time of peace near on everypony, and knife, and serpent is busy. Just the way life is. I guess." Steven said, understanding. I nodded my thanks.
"How is everypony though?" Nick asked.
"The same as before. Spectra and Rainbow still married with two kids. I got Dee and Tage. Twilight is getting struck by aftershock lightning bolts during storms and Heart Breaker is still very much in love with Celestia." I replied.
"Yeah. We would come over but we got a job here. Protecting the border and such." Nick said, it wasn't their actual jobs, they didn't have any, they had just decided to live in the Everfree and Mayor Mare decided to pay tribute to the two for keeping wild Everfree stuff away so had actually begun to take it seriously. They never spent the money, all the bits were in a huge pile under Steven. He was like a real dragon. Except a Serpent. I stayed and talked to them for a while but soon decided it was high time to go home and get Tage to sleep. I left the cave and felt Tage steer awake. She looked around, jumped a little when a sound of thunder came and jumped off my back. I looked into her little sparkling eyes. Then with a stright face she asked.
"When we will go see everypony?" I couldn't help but laugh.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
I walked home with Tage on my back. It was still black and this storm raged on. High winds were now blowing and nearly everypony was inside, except for a few Pegasi I saw close by. From what I could tell there were three Pegasi, maybe more I couldn't tell, and a very royal looking unicorn all gathered in a circle.
"I don't get it!" One Pegasus shouted. "The next storm is due in eight days, and not on this scale! The clouds have done this themselves!" The same one then added.
"What's going on mage? Magic isn't working anymore!" Another Pegasus shouted.
"Look. I have gained only the knowledge that Princess Celestia has given me. The rift is growing stronger once more and these rouge clouds have drifted in from the Everfree. It is just a minor storm." The unicorn replied, I walked up to him.
"What do you mean? About the rift?" I asked. The unicorn looked at me and Tage with seemly disgust.
"Just go home, you are not in the weather team so please reframe yourself from the area." The unicorn ordered. Not knowing who I was.
"What is your name mage?" I asked, making a mental note to complain about him.
"Sunny Flash. Now please leave."
"I shall be telling Celestia of your personality to Celestia herself when I next see her, and remove you from court, you speak to not only a knight, but a king. Good day." I shouted, then began to walk away. Okay, I will admit that being a knight-king does have its perks.
I still wondered what that unicorn meant by the rift getting stronger, something major was coming to pass and I saw I would have to help out. Again, Dee wouldn't be impressed, but neither will I if Celestia asks for my help. Let fate run its course, as long as Dee, Tage and my friends are safe. Lightning struck again and I made my way home.
I could see Dee at the doorway, Tage also saw and climbed off my back and ran to Dee.
"Mummy!" Tage shouted. Dee hugged Tage. "Mummy, some bad man told daddy off and he beat him up!" Tage exclaimed. Wait, what?
"Haze?" Dee asked in shock.
"Wha? No I didn't! I told him I would report him to Celestia! He. What?" Was all I seemed to be able to get out.
"Okay. Come in you too. I made tea." Dee said, inviting us both in. I hugged her and noticed how wet I was. I kissed my wife and entered the warm solid house and closed the door. Warm food was waiting for us all. I smiled at Dee.
"Thanks honey." I said.
"Dont worry about it. Its for my king." She said, winking.
"Calm down you, not here." I muttered, Tage was happily eating away and laughing at seemingly nothing. I laughed to just due to how cute the small Pegasus was. I sat down next to Dee and Tage. So I was in the middle of us all. I gulfed down the meal, not realizing how hungry I was. I dripped rain water all over the carpet floor and Dee giggled everytime a water droplet fell. I just looked at her as a large chunk of my hair fell over my face, dropping more water.
"Hehee." Dee giggled. I laughed slightly and she smiled back.
"So immature." I grunted.
"You know it's why you love me." Dee replied. I pulled her in for a kiss and did so.
"I love you because your perfect." I replied. Kissing her again. Tage jumped up and nearly dived off the seat.
"Eww! Mommy and daddy are kissing!" Tage exclaimed.
"You're be doing it one day. Not that I will let any stallions near you. They would be scared of the king and knight." I muttered in response.
"You are not a real king Haze. And don't tell her that." Dee replied.
"I might get my subjects to line the street on the morrow and sing merrily in my name." I joked, in as much of a royal accent I could get. Dee laughed and punched me softly and Tage ran off to go play with her toys. I watched her as she played and felt Dee's head on my shoulder.
"She is going to grow into a fine young mare one day Haze. Thanks to you." Dee muttered, truthfully.
"You're the mother, you helped to. And still help. Its not me who will give her 'the talk'. That's your job." I replied.
"Oi. If it were a colt then you would have to." Dee replied. I felt safe to swear as Tage was out of earshot.
"Yeah, I can only remember our balls get itchy and we 'spray tan' as many women as possible." I joked, Dee went into a fit of laughter.
"Sure, well we have to go through the monthly times and our hot moments." Dee replied.
"Yeah, mares win. Can I have a beer?" I joked. Dee smiled and stared into my eyes. I stared into hers. I remembered why I fell in love with her, and the same for her to me. I moved in for a kiss and Dee suddenly tapped my foreleg.
"Get it yourself." Dee joked and got up to play with Tage. I laughed and also joined in. We rolled about with each other, played and joked. It was fun. Maybe I was just restless, because I wouldn't trade what I had for the world, no. Two worlds.
We played until Tage got tired and myself and Dee put her to bed. The storm outside had calmed and I went outside to get some cool air. I stood alone smiling to myself looking up into the sky. I was in bliss.
"Whatcha doing cutie?" Dee asked from behind me. I turned toward her.
"Nothing just thinking." I replied.
"About what?" She asked.
"About what great a life I have now. I am just restless Dee, it'll pass." I muttered, Dee nodded, she acted like she understood, when I knew she didn't. I looked to the sky smiling, but then. I lost my grin and happiness. For where blank space should be, was a rip in the universe. And on the other side, another planet. The rift had fully opened once more. I naturally swore.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
My heart raced at the sight of the planet, Dee screamed and rushed inside. I couldn't take my eyes off the rip, it was bad, very fucking bad. What did it mean though? Had Discord returned, or whatever was on the other side find out about us. About the rift. Maybe there wasn't anything, just a planet, maybe we were safe. But I highly doubted it. I heard my name being called and saw everypony heading toward the house, Steven was there and the group was being lead by none other than the princess herself. Celestia was here, so we were all fucked.
Dee came out of the house again and stared at the rift then noticed Celestia and the others coming and lent in close.
"Okay, the rift is open and is very important, I give you permission to fight for Equestria again. But come back, quickly." Dee muttered, I nodded and began to make my way toward the group. Everypony was there, ready for this high and mighty talk about the end of the world and shit.
"As you can see my little ponies. The rift I once thought closed has opened again, however the planet on the other side isn't moving toward us. Now we are in a different universe altogether to this other planet so the civilization there is much more, advanced than ours. Their planet, since the rift opened has have aged faster than ours, their year is about sixteen minutes for us. So they have gone extremely far into their future than us. They will outmatch us in most aspects, but I do not wish for war. So we must hope this planet doesn't declare anything against us." Celestia said.
"Wait, go back. What do you mean, since the rift opened?" Heart Breaker asked.
"Good question. Before this rift, the Discord one, we could, I could always travel from here to there without a disturbance. But then Discord came, opened the portal and their universes time frame broke from our, so where we and they traveller through future history almost simultaneously, they went eras ahead of us like it was normal for their universe." Celestia said.
"So you are telling us that they have far more superior weaponry than our own. How hostile did you say this world is?" I asked.
"From what I could tell from my visits and what the unicorns have found out, very. So we need to be on high alert but sadly can't make a first move, if this is certainly war, I am sorry my ponies, but we won't win." Celestia replied, there was pure silence after that, except the raging storm.
"So, let me get this straight. You are saying this rift is now fully open, so either world can get to the other and not only are they more advanced in every way. But we have no chance of winning a war which is bound to happen. Anything else?" I asked, Celestia paused.
"Shit." I grunted.
"Equestrian magic is dying and we have no way to close the portal except somehow destroy the void between the portals." Celestia added. I swore, loudly.
"We are fucking screwed then!" I shouted.
"Haze!" Heart Breaker shouted, I paused my running about in panic. Then looked to my friend.
"If we play our cards right we might just be able to convince this world we won't be any threat. What we need is an ambassador, somepony who has been on both worlds." Heart Breaker said, then looked to Celestia who nodded. "And that pony." Heart Breaker paused, then took a deep breathe.
"Is me. I am human, I am from that world." Heart Breaker said. I screamed out in fear and rage. Everypony started talking at the same time.
After nearly twenty minutes Celestia got annoyed and shot a lightning bolt into the storm clouds, everypony promptly shut the fuck up. I stared at Heart Breaker in utmost disbelief. I couldn't believe he was from this other world and was 'human' or whatever he had said.
"Heart Breaker came to Equestria by a personally built portal, he isn't the reason its open, never has been. In fact it is open because nopony ever closed it so it is no ponies fault. Heart Breaker has been here for years, I changed him to an Alicorn myself. He is in deed human but I have no doubts he would betray us. Am I right Heart Breaker?" Celestia said, rather quickly.
"You are my princess. Earth, my home world, was full of haters and death, I am sure it has gotten much worse but Equestria is my home now." Heart Breaker replied. I nodded, good enough.
"I always knew it Heart Breaker." Rainbow called out from next to Spectra. Where were the two children, the filly and colt? I guess back home like Tage was.
"You are still a bastard to me." I muttered, Heart Breaker smiled.
"So, how do we deal with all, this." Rarity asked, gesturing around her person.
"The rift we can do nothing about, maybe it will close again over time, maybe the other world. Earth, will destroy the void themselves. I couldn't say truly. But everything else, I am sure we can fix eventually. This magic thing may just be temporary and if not we will find a way to fix this. The weather we can deal with and everything else we can ignore or fix." Celestia replied, Rarity then nodded. I looked at the rift again drifting under the cloud layer, the darkness of what I thought to be the void hung then the Earth stood alone a bright red colour.
"Is Earth meant to be red?" I asked. It was a pale shade, but didn't seem natural.
"No. It is blue. Why?" Heart Breaker explained, then looked to the planet.
"Fuck. That looks to be over pollution. If it is as bad as it looks, we may not have to stop a war, and I might be the last human. Well pony from Earth." Heart Breaker said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Pollution has always been bad, or was when I left, and we as a race were moving to more renewable resources because our coal and other material would run out one day, for we were in a linear system and needed to go into a Closed-loop system to survive over decades and eons and etc. However from the looks of all the red, showing carbon, or a harmful gas, has covered the Earth, so we never did fix it. Just made it worse. The only way anything could survive down there is with some sort of breathing mask or if humanity had terraformed Mars, making the air breathable and safe, for now, against the harmful exposure to radiation from the sun and global pollution like Earth has gone through.." Heart Breaker said. I blinked and everypony went silent again.
"We fucked up so every human may be dead." Heart Breaker said, in simple terms. I understood now and nodded. I aimed my eyes for the gap in the dimension and noticed a bright light shot out of the portal. I saw smoke shoot across the sky and noticed what looked to be a small white box with fire trailing out of its ass was falling from the sky that came from the portal, it was heading toward us and I saw the object getting closer and larger. The thing sped pass our heads and crashed into the ground not to far away, leaving a huge ringing sound in the air and a minor earthquake. We all gasped at the same time.
"Dropship, or whatever they are called. It will have one to three people inside, in wired astronaut gear so don't be alarmed, we should greet them." Heart Breaker said.
"But they might have weapons and crap." I argued.
"No, they are explorers, not fighters." Heart Breaker replied then began to trot toward the crash site. I trusted him still, so followed, soon everypony else did.
The crater the shuttle had formed was rather large and the ship itself had fallen on its side. Smoke brewed from the area and pieces of strange metal littered the ground. This strange cylinder pod thing just sat still, steam and a strange hiss came from it. We all circled the craft just staring, Heart Breaker was closest to it but none of us else dared more closer. After a while more hissing was heard and a small circular hatch thing began to turn, smoke bellowed out of the gap now created and after a few moments, the hatch flipped up, an long white thing reached out and touched the side, then a round black mask-face followed by another long pole. The thing began to slowly pull its way up, a torso of some sort became bigger and longer, then it split in two as two more poles extended. The thing climbed down the shuttle and stepped forward, a strange figure in white stood before us. It looked upon us, I was ready to fight. The figure looked down on us all.
"Hello kind traveller." Celestia smiled, the figure before us began to scream in panic.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
-UNFHS Miltary Base in Colorado, USA.- 2784AD. Monday
Admiral John Mores was staring at the huge screen coming back from the astronaut; Kevin Travis's headset. He was the first man to set foot on this new world, nothing could explain where the planet came from but from scans it held the atmosphere and abilities to support life. A shuttle was sent right away from Mars, which happened to be the closest planet to this strange rift. The admiral watched as the shuttles hatch opened and Kevin exited the thing, the camera was showing oxygen, an atmosphere, and everything else needed for life. Kevin stepped out of the shuttle, only to be met by, what looked like ponies. John stepped closer to thescreen and listened to the audio.
"Hello there kind traveller." A large white horned, and winged pony had apparently said, the voice was gentle and kind. Kevin began to scream. The ponies stepped forward to help but Kevin was panicking, telling the ungodly creatures to stay back. They seemed confused for a moment, as was John. Both species, if in deed were talking armed to understand each other and speak the same language. Kevin promptly jumped into the shuttle and closed the hatch. Knocking and worried voices soon followed. Kevin punched in some numbers and a phone began to ring. John Mores answered.
"S-Sir. I may have discovered life." The young astronaut muttered.
"I know, I saw the whole thing Kevin. They seem to be horses. Talking, colorful horses." John replied over the phone.
"Oh. Well, orders?" Kevin asked.
"Come back home Kevin. I shall send the video to the Terran and Martain presidents and see what they say. These 'ponies' may be hostile. Or we could colonize their planet. Either way, I wish to be in command of the assult force." John replied.
"Okay, come home. Got you sir." Kevin said, John hung up the phone and watched the video again, Kevin looked to his control panel and pressed in some more buttons and the shuttle began to take flight. John turned to look at everyone else in the room but found they were all frozen, everything was frozen. Even the video. Time had stopped, only a suited tall man was moving, walking toward the admiral. John pulled his sidearm out.
"Don't bother human. Even if I fail to stop the bullet time is frozen for you. Always will be unless I fix it. So listen closely human. I understand your race is stupid and barbaric. Starting wars over land and supplies. Your race is weak, but I still wish to warn you." The strange figure said.
"Warn me?" John asked, lowering his gun.
"Yes. This race your traveller has discovered are very real. They have known of your planets and race for years, decades even. They have amongst their number one called Bright Haze,he has a power that could destroy your entire civilization. If he managed to survive he will come to you homeworld and blow it into your sun. Then this pony race will take to the stars and burn every last human. You must attack them first. If not, they will destroy all of you humans." The figure replied.
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Because I am a Mo'ka, a keeper of time and if Haze is to survive, it would be not only the end of your race, but the whole multiverse would collasp and die."
"Unless we kill him?"
"Unless you wipe out the pony race." With that the figure vanished and everyone was back to normal. They all paused, then looked to their leader.
"We need to wipe out the ponies, sir." One soldier said, then everyone nodded, they had all seen the same thing then. One man however, was bleeding and dead. His gun barral was smoking and his neck snapped. He had apparently fired his gun.
"Gentlemen." John Mores said, then paused. "From this moment on. We are at war." John muttered. Then the whole base went on red alert.
-The Void/Land of the Mo'ka.-
"Now the humans are stupid enough to go to war with the Equestrians whatever happens one race will win, the other crippled. We shall have our full power by then my brothers. We can return to the multiverse and this time. Nothing will stop us. Nothing can!" The Great Mokai shouted to the gathered warriors.
"We have managed to give false guidence to two races saying we are protectors of time. When we know the truth. The Mo'ka shall rule the mulitverse once more and forever be immortal. The humans will fall and the ponies we can fell, or the other way. Either way we shall have planets, resources and slave survivors beyond rekoning for the beginning of our new empire!" The Great Mokai shouted.
"We are the destroyers of peace, and the last empire. The immortal race, the master race. And we my brothers, shall stop the purge of men and pony from beginning, and start the last war of man. Start the beginnings of the end for the multiverse, and the start for us. My brothers, we will be victorious once more!" The Great Mokai shouted, the soldiers gathered then went off to ready for the feast of battle whhich would soon come.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
Almost two weeks had now passed since that first human had landed on Equestria then shot back up into the sky in his white craft. Equestria in general terms had never found out about the rift or the possible threat of extinction, but many military bases were on high alert, weapons and armour was created as well as certain spells that we could use in Equestria's defence. Even the idea for using the DawnTheif spell came up. But was quickly dropped as that would kill both races. We had already figured that the humans would do either two things; invite us in as allies, or come to Equestria and burn us as an enemy, naturally we all would have preferred the first one. However nothing had come from the human race on either terms. I had begun to sleep again, after the first four awake and alert. I knew everyone else hadn't slept either, Steven and Nick had come into Ponyville from the Everfree, confusing everypony as normal. Spectra had been learning how to control his demon form, Dark-Red, with the help of Star Burst who had come down from Canterlot with Celestia. I was standing outside, holding a crossbow and in armour. Myself and Spectra walked around watching the skies for any rift activity. Nothing as always.
"So. Heart Breaker is human?" Spectra asked suddenly.
"Seemingly, yes. He is a pony now so has chosen his side." I replied, telling the pony not to doubt him.
"Yes. But a side for what, this won't be a war, we all know it will be a slaughter, there are just those who will fight and those who will surrender and become slaves, or executed." Spectra grunted.
"I won't surrender. Not whilst I have something to fight for." I said. Referring to Dee and Tage. Spectra nodded in agreement when suddenly Heart Breaker appeared, followed by everypony else. Dark clouds were forming again and it would rain again. It had been going on and off for two weeks now, since the rifts opening.
"How long do you think we can hold?" Nick asked. We all knew if the humans came for war, we would all fall. One, by one.
"Five minutes. Then the humans will spread across Equestria and have the land by sundown. However if they manage to kill Celestia, by what would be nightfall. But due to them killing her, now set the planet to slowly burn constantly on daytime." Twilight replied.
"We are so screwed. I wish the rift had never opened." Star Burst shouted. There was a small burst of lightning around the rift, slowly followed by more. Everypony went silent as the rift began giving off activity. What followed would answer our question of war, or peace. Another spark shot out and then we knew. A huge, thing, came out of the rift. Heart Breaker cried out and stepped back. I was fixated on the huge object flying around in the sky, I couldn't take my eyes off whatever it was flying around, it was huge, fire was coming out of the back of the thing and from what looked to be sunlight being reflected off the surface I could only guess it was made of metal of some kind. The object was huge going miles in and direction from what I could tell.
"What is it Heart Breaker?" I suddenly asked. He mumbled something.
"I don't know. It looks to be some sort of war ship. But for space." The Alicorn human replied.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"That if this thing has any sort of artillery, we may not even last until nightfall, let alone five minutes. The humans won't even need to bring down troopers, just bombard the landscape. But from my guesses, at the sight of Earth, they will want to colonize, rather than destroy. This is just a threat. The worse will come. I don't think we will have peace." Heart Breaker said, as he said that a small dot shot out of the ship, which was now more or less still. The small thing became bigger slowly as it came closer, more dots shot out from the ship, I counted twelve of the things, they were heading straight toward Ponyville.
"We need to get to the town!" I shouted and began to run, the ground suddenly shook, one had landed. I galloped toward town as did everypony else. More of the things hit as we ran. Slowly the ground stopped trembling.
Once we reached Ponyville we saw that all the pods had landed in a line, completely still. Ponies lined the streets. In wonder and shock. I drew my sword and held it, everypony else got weapons out as well. We stared at the things in awe, Heart Breaker seemed reluctant to get any closer than he was, spear shaking in hoof. Steam was suddenly shot out from the pods, forming a rectangle line. The shape moved down, a door seemed to be opening. I counted the pods size could probably fit about twenty ponies each, so by that math, about two hundred odd humans could have landed. The twelve doors opened and ponies stepped back. Unlike the first shuttle, these things were made in a black type metal. The doors fully opened and a tall figure stepped out, in green clothing with a hat of some sort, he had a strange weapon at his side, a small thing, but most likely very dangerous. He had hair growing from his face, so a beard in growth. His hair was short and black. He stepped forward, more humans stepped out of the pods, holding long weapons and dressed the same, with slightly different hair cuts and hair colour. I did a very quick count, there seemed to be over three hundred. Ponies stepped back in fear, but the humans raised their weapons.
"My name, is admiral John Mores. Now we have been given information that one in your number has a power unlike no other. A power which is planned to use against the worlds of humanity. Bring him forward or, we will open fire. I have the documents needed on The Defender, to prove that governments around our worlds have agreed that the pony race is, expendable. So we can and will shot you all unless you bring forward this, pony. We know you speak our language so do so now. Bring the pony forward or you all die." The first human shouted. Everypony panicked, one ran away in fear. A human raised his weapon, followed by a loud noise and the pony exploding in blood and fire. Everypony began to scream but nopony else made a move to run, some mares cried, stallions also did, or held close to other ponies.
"This city is now under control of humanity, return to your homes and expect us to search your homes. If we find any sort of weapons we will kill you. Move back to your homes you filth. We will be searching soon." John Mores then said. Some ponies did it, but others stayed. The human soldiers ignored them and dispersed themselves. I stood still, these humans had just landed and taken over. I couldn't believe that had just happened.
An hour passed and now Ponyville was in all out war, a few unicorns from Canterlot had started shooting at the humans and a few others had then joined the fight, I had heard the gunfire from my house with Dee and Tage. Everypony else was either with me or in Steven's perspective, outside. But now we were outside joined in the fight. I had managed to grab weapon up from a dead human and was now shooting toward the now burning town of Ponyville. Steven was badly wounded as was Star Burst. We kept shooting and fighting, but more and more of those damn pods kept landing. We had surprisingly lasted more than five minutes but we had a heavy death rate. I had left the house in defence leaving Dee and Tage alone. Which I regretted but if I was out here, the humans wouldn't think to go anywhere else. At least I hoped. I saw a few running toward our small group began to fire my gun, the unicorns in the group shot out with their magic. Spectra had disappeared, becoming Dark-Red and charging into the town, Rainbow had followed. We continued our rate of fire and the humans fell. Then hell came over me as I heard a squeak of a voice call out my name. I turned to see the crying face of Tage running toward me. Dee was sprinting after her, one of the humans must've seen the filly running and shot. The bullet felling the small filly and she cried in pain. I throw my gun, already crying. Dee stopped in her tracks. I ran toward my small child. The human shot again and I watched as my crying girl, turned to ash in front of me. I burst out crying, explosions sounded out and more pods landed, but I didn't care anymore. My baby was dead. A human had killed her.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
I couldn't process what had just happened, the ashes of what was once my daughter sat in a smoking pile, only to be blown away by the wind. The human who had killed her was still alive, from what I saw, but not for long. I looked to Dee, she was crying and didn't notice anything going on. I had lost my daughter, but I would loss Dee. I stood, sword in hoof and galloped forward. The small human squad didn't notice my presence until I was on them. There were eight still standing, the world seemed to go dark red as I ran, screaming at the humans. I was on them before they could raise their weapons. The one who had killed Tage I would leave until last. I stabbed and slashed at the humans, killing them all. I roared in anger and pain. One managed to stab me with a small knife but I killed the alien in turn. I screamed again and felled the last human, I throw the sword down at the clearly scared last human, the air smelled of urine and the human stood shaking. I had blood dripping down from my body, mixed with sweet and dirt.
"What is your name human?" I asked. He seemed confused I was speaking.
"C-Colin Mason. Please. Don't kill me!" The human begged. I picked up my sword again.
"You, Colin Mason, just shot my daughter, twice. You got the second most dearest thing I hold in my life and your destroyed it. My little filly was three years old. And you shot her. I will not spare you. For you have destroyed any remorse I will give your race, you can take Equestria, but until I fall, you will all die." I replied, then cut deep into the human, not to kill him, he would bleed out first. I stabbed at his legs to stop any movement, the human cried out, the world went back to normal colours. I grabbed up a gun and trotted away. Toward the burning picture of Ponyville. To my death most likely. I trotted slowly, the humans cries echoing my walk. An image of Tage and her death came back into my mind and I nodded, every last human will die. I heard my name being shouted, but ignored it.
I reached Ponyville still with anger and hatred, humans lined streets, most now in close-combat with ponies, others under heavy fire from unicorn mages. I charged into the fight taking down more humans, some still had weapons but I shot them before they could use their own. I swung my sword round with one hoof, flow up with my wings and shot the human weapon with my other foreleg. I caught sight of that first human, John Mores not to far away and aimed the weapon. He had piles of ash all around him and he still held that small weapon of his and an axe. I shot and watched as John Mores fell. I ran to him.
"Man down!" Some human shouted, it appeared behind some ruined house and I shot, turning it to ash. I had reached John Mores's decaying body as I watched him bleed and burn.
"You. Bright Haze." The dying human muttered.
"Your men killed my daughter. You shall all fall." I replied. Grabbed up the small weapon and shot. The admiral had fallen. More drop pods fell into Ponyville and I shot toward the oncoming humans. Some noise came from a small device strapped to the dead mans belt. Not that there was much left to him, most had now rotted away.
"Admiral sir?" A voice asked. I stared at the device and held down the piece that said 'talk' with a hoof.
"The Admiral is dead." I said.
"Orders then?" The voice replied.
"Stop sending ground troops and pull back. We can take Ponyville." I said. They thought I was a human, which could come in handy.
"Yes sir. We shall call back if no word is received by dawn." The voice said and cut off. The giant ship in the sky slowly began to move and flow back into the rift, vanishing. I ran away from the dead humans body to go fight, only to get knocked on the head by a human. I fell down onto the floor, banging against some stone.
Everything came back to me.
I had been born a human, been raised on Earth, became a Brony at twenty and came here, Equestria when Celestia and the mane six came to get me. Due to the wild magic that had leeched onto me. I remembered everything, the months after how Derpy had followed me around and her, Rainbow and Fluttershy had thought me to fly. I remembered how Nightmare Moon had come back, and thanks to the power of the Elements of Humanity we defeated her and brought back Luna. I remembered how the rift had opened, my first sonic rainboom to escape the human undead. How Discord escaped and I launched him off a mountain, my two week death and my return during the Changeling crisis. Then Celestia blanking my memory. I was a human turned pony. Equestria wasn't my birth home, Earth was. I was killing my own race, I had married a pony being a human. I was so lost suddenly. I felt the coldness of a weapon touch me and came back to reality. I rolled and shot the man, the human. Then another memory came back. One of the Mo'ka, and my choice. I remembered how I was infused with dark magic which would go critical one day and force me to explode in fire and magic, destroying the world. I had a choice now, either Equestria, or Earth. The survivor my home, the loser, defeated and burning, billions dead. A whole planet gone. I fainted. Somewhere in Canterlot Celestia felt my magic become critical.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
I opened my eyes slowly, thinking I was dead. When I saw Dee standing before me, holding me in a smile, tears falling down her face, I suddenly thought everything had been a dream. But then I smelt burning and heard gunshots I began to panic. Dee tried to calm me but my ears rang, I couldn't hear her. I began to panic even more as I realised I was almost deaf, only to gunfire could I hear fully. Ringing, so much ringing, I looked down my pony body and saw blood and dirt had covered it, there was a small burn and some decay, I had been shot with one of the human weapons. I felt pain and began to scream out, nothing was heard except gunfire and ringing.
"Haze. Calm down!" Twilight shouted, I saw her next to Dee, horn glowing, she wasn't looking at me and was speaking to Dee.
"Now listen, you are deaf and have been hit by a weapon, I am keeping you alive with magic, please do not struggle or the gun wound will begin to spread and you will turn to ash and dust. I am holding you here until Celestia arives. She can fix you, do not panic Bright Haze, you are going to be okay." Twilight said. "I am communicating with you through my magic, it is weak due to me being preoccupied with your wound but either way, you are alive. You cannot speak back to me but you can in real life, but you won't hear yourself or the reply. Please stay calm Haze, and Derpy loves you." Twilight added. I smiled and made myself say thanks, but as predicted, couldn't hear myself. I thought of my baby girl Tage burning and dying and cried, Dee joined in when I started shouting for Tage. The ringing increased as I shouted and was determined to make myself hear my daughters name. Spectra, still in Dark-Red form walked over to me, he said something.
"Spectra says welcome back to the living Haze. I saw you went Dark-Haze on those human bastards. Sorry for your loss bro." Twilight said, I thanked him and Twilight began to explain what was going on, I think. Steven stumbled through the town toward me and stood over me, Nick hoped down as well. Steven was covered in burns but due to his thick scales, no gun shot had hurt him, except where the scales were thinner, so now Steven was bleeding and broken on his leg and arm joints, one leg looked very badly broken. The other almost black. Nick had received no wounds, due to his small size the humans would have ignored the small weapon charging toward them. More and more ponies gathered and I could see the full extent of the damage made by the human invasion. Applejack was now wearing an eye patch and had cuts all over her, Rarity's hair was smoking, almost on fire and was crying slightly. Fluttershy was holding a gun, upside down and was shivering in utter fear. Heart Breaker was actually missing one wing and had burns all down one side. Blood splattered all over him. Star Burst was still no where to be seen, but not presumed dead. Yet. The others had either equally as horroring wounds or worse. Diamond Ray was practically crawling around, for all his wooden limbs were burnt off. I sat in pure horror for what my race had done to these relatively peaceful creatures. I looked to the sky and was at least thankful the huge war ship was gone, but the rift was still open. Which was very bad. I noticed everypony bowing suddenly and saw Celestia herself stand before me.
"I would bow my Princess but I appear to be in a bit of a spot of bad health." I think I said, Celestia smiled and her horn began to glow, pain rushed through me as the burn suddenly grow as Twilight let go on the healing spell to let Celestia work. The wound soon healed back up but would open again as soon as Celestia let her magic go, Celestia said something which apparently no pony like because Dee looked at me and cried.
"Don't panic Sir Haze, this is the only way." Celestia said in my mind, a few minutes passed and two unicorn guards came over, holding a square piece of white hot iron. I understood what was about to happen. Shit. This was going to hurt. As I had guessed Celestia placed the dripping metal over my body and lowed it down, I screamed out in pain, enough that my hearing came back and then, due to intense pain, I thankfully passed out again.
I woke still in pain, Dee seemed to spark up in life when I moved, I didn't hear the ringing anymore and noticed everypony had gone, except Celestia and Dee.
"Dee?" I asked, hearing it. The Pegasus jumped up.
"Haze! You're alive!" Dee shouted.
"Yes, where is everypony?" I asked, an explosion rung out. We were still at war.
"Front lines. Haze, Celestia has something to say to you, and you are not going to like it. There is no way to save you Haze but I am coming with you. Whatever your choice." Dee said, then stepped back giving the princess room.
"Haze.-" Celestia began.
"I have dark magic inside me which will explode at any random point and it has now gone critical so will explode, killing everything on whatever planet I am on, and will go off at any moment now." I interrupted. Celestia nodded, I had to choose my Birthworld, Earth, or my Homeworld, Equestria. Either way billions will die, as will I.
"Also this is all due to a group known as the Mo'ka, they tricked everyone, every world and caused me to have to chooses world to destroy, the winner they will invade and conquer for the start of their new empire." I added, no idea where that fact came from.
"I know the Mo'ka, only breed for inter dimensional war. What ever world is left, they will destroy the other race. They live in the void, the gap between worlds. If the Mo'ka are back, we are all dead. Haze, you need to destroy the Void." Celestia said, I nodded. Suddenly some humans appeared and shot. I shouted out but was too late, they had hit Dee and Celestia. Dee fell crying I ran to her, shouting for a mage of some kind. I watched as my wife's wings turned to ash, soon, if now help came, so would the rest of Dee Haze, turn to ash. I charged the humans. Earth was not my home.
Bright Haze: The Mo'ka Choice
I limped away from the dead humans, none has survived, Dee sat on her back with wings burning away, a few unicorns were now around her tending to Dee, Celestia stood up, ignoring her own decay and began the healing process on my wife. I cried, I couldn't lose my daughter and my wife on the same day. I felt brining suddenly, but it wasn't my iron plating anymore. I fell down in pain and Shadow seemingly appeared from nowhere, blood covered him. He was most likely in his Demon General form, however I couldn't recall the name.
"Haze. What is it?" He asked. I felt something deep inside me burning away at my insides. Another explosion rang out and I fell to my knees, Luna also appeared.
"The dark Mo'ka magic is expanding, we don't have much time!" Luna shouted.
"Save Dee!" I shouted over my pain, Luna nodded and ran to help, Shadow held me up, I saw Heart Breaker, Spectra, Steven and Nick running my way. The reached me and held me up, as I shouted in pain.
"This is it. This is the end." I grunted.
"No, we can save you, Celestia will contain the magic. We won't die, the humans are falling. Come on Bright Haze, don't give up!" Spectra shouted.
"No my friend. This is it. But I don't have to destroy a world, just get to the void." I replied, everypony seemed confused. "The Mo'ka are in the gap, the void. I can destroy it. Just, need. To fly!" I shouted in pain, grinding my teeth together. Celestia and Luna, along with the other unicorns called me over. I stumbled, with the help of Spectra and Heart Breaker got over to Dee, she was alive still, the decaying stopped, but much of her wings were gone.
"I need to go Dee. Please, move on with life. Spectra, and Heart Breaker. Will look after you." I stumbled down, only to be caught by Spectra and Shadow just in time. Dee pushed me with a hoof and stood up, blood dripping down from her.
"No Haze, I am coming with you." Dee said.
"You can't fly." I said, Dee nodded.
"Carry me." She said. I looked to my friends, everypony was gathered again, gunfire was still sounding as the last few humans continued their desperate fight, the sun was falling so the war ship would be back any second. I looked to each of the bloodied faces of each of my friends in turn. They were all crying, and as was I, ignoring the pain of the magic I nodded to them. A few, like Spectra and Heart begged out to any gods, or Celestia to spare me and let me live, let this whole thing to just be a dream, but it wasn't so.
"You have stood by me all this time, never once abandoned me. We have fought and died together my friends, but today is the last day I can fight with you. My day is over, and death calls me again. Do not cry for me, remember how we won this day, and that how peace is over Equestria thanks to each of you all here today. I fly, with my wife into that rift, not to destroy a planet of humans, those evil creatures who today killed my daughter and crippled my wife, but I go to finish off the true enemy, the Mo'ka. Remember this day ponies, as this was the day we defended our homes from human invasion and then ended the true threat of the Mo'ka. I am Sir King Bright Haze, of Equestria, this is my home, and I shall defend it." I said, nodded to Dee who climbed onto my back. I shot into the sky and flow toward the rift. As I did so a human must have given off a lucky shot as my left back leg began to burn and decay, I almost faltered my wing movements in pain, but stayed course. More shots flow past me, a few hitting, but I was determined not to die. Not yet.
"I love you Bright Haze." Derpy Haze muttered suddenly, she was weak and would soon die. I could hear it in her voice. I reached the rift and shot through, the small gap of nothing was black, I saw countless Mo'ka figures dotted around, along with those strange wolf things, they seemed to be floating, moving toward me with claws out, sharp. I looked to them all as I closed my eyes.
"I love you too Dee. I love you too." I opened my eyes again, Dee was falling from my body, dead from her wounds, she wouldn't of heard me. I couldn't cry or fall, not yet. My job was not done. I had lost everything. To the humans they had ended a life worth living, I could destroy their home and kill billions, just for revenge on my family. I had nothing left, and yet. I chose to spare humanity, and destroy the void. As I waited for the magic to expand and explode I heard the Mo'ka begin to hum a tune. I couldn't understand it, but I guess this was their song. Everything had to end, songs were the first to end. I began to sing an old tune Dee had once sung, I couldn't remember the words that much but was humming the tune. I got to the last note and the world around me turned white.
Down on Equestria Heart Breaker watched the rift tear apart in a brilliant colour of blue and white light, magic mana trails shot out into the sky like a tree branch moving from a tree. Heart Breaker began to sob, it would mean Haze had fallen. No body this time, and no resurrection. There was a very loud explosion and a blinding light. When the light cleared, the rift was gone. The war was over. They had won. But Haze, was dead.
Heart Breaker and the others formed a circle and began to hum an old melody of fallen soldiers of Equestria.
"Bright Haze, forever remembered, never forgotten. Saviour of Equestria." Was all Spectra could say, all anypony could say. Heart Breaker fell to his knees. Nick collapsed as well, followed by everypony else. All that time together, everything that had happened to them, the wars, peace, everything. Now gone, in a flash of light.
"Be at peace Haze." Heart Breaker muttered, crying. "Be at peace."

Now I am not American, nor did anyone I know of die in the attacks on the World Trade Centre but it always hurts me whenever this day comes around. This chapter will be on all my fictions new and old so you will be seeing it a lot, those following me anyway.
I would like to thank those who saved survivors from the rubble of the twin towers that day and would like us all to remember everybody who died that day, civilians, firemen and police. Everybody who was killed and affected by the attack twelve years ago today. My thoughts go out to all those who died in the tower, planes and those killed in the aftermath of the bombings.

Okay, not going to lie, a few tears fell whilst making the ending for this. The series is finally over and I shall be moving onto other projects, but this series basis is certainly not over, things were left unanswered in this. So expect a few more in this line, I also need to explain Dari, Aeb, The Sirens, Mo'ka, Sky Dwellers and anything else I have left out. But I will be taking a break from this series for a bit and finishing the other stuff I started months ago.
